If I got registered on the spreadsheet and saw my name on it, does it mean that I can use the signature of the project/company and I'm good to go? Undecided
Usually it's the other way around. You use the signature of the project > Apply and if you get accepted, you'll see your name on the spreadsheet > Then you're considered a campaign participant of that project.
5442  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Descriptor - Short Descriptions Of Alts! https://cryptodescriptor.info on: February 16, 2018, 04:58:30 AM
Good idea. Currently working on implementing this. I was wondering if you could provide me with a list of words you would find hard to understand the meaning of from a noob POV.
Sure. Apart from your list, the following should be included as well:

1. Master key
2. Proof-of-stake
3. Node
4. RFID
5. Supply chain management
6. ERC20 token
7. Off-chain
8. Segwit
9. Lighting network
10. Cross-chain atomic swaps
11. ASIC resistant
12. Proof-of-Work
13. API
14. Smart contracts
15. CoinJoin protocol
16. PPC
17. SHA256D
18. Quantum Resistance
19. Hierarchical Deterministic (HD) wallet
20. I2P
21. Multisig

Take note: Just finished updating it but make sure to double check (in case I missed some).
5443  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: February 15, 2018, 07:07:14 PM
What do I need to do to access the "Custom Title" option in the profile? Thanks for the answer.
In addition to what "MadGamer" stated, if you're a "well known person" within the community and ask nicely (with a valid reason) then you might get it as well (last person that got a custom title [through a request]).

but many moderators on the forum do not have this option? For example, theymos (administrator) does not have this option in the profile.
It isn't mandatory (just because someone has a certain position within the community).
5444  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Descriptor - Short Descriptions Of Alts! https://cryptodescriptor.info on: February 15, 2018, 06:35:23 PM
Check it out and do not be afraid to leave feedback here.
Since you're aiming to provide noob-friendly information, then I suggest to add a feature that upon hovering on some of the keywords, it gives a brief information regarding each of those words (so users won't be forced to search for those in external sites).
- A lot of words fall on that category (not that noob-friendly).
5445  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptocoin Watch: Honest, accurate, and transparent coin "market cap" database on: February 15, 2018, 11:36:55 AM
Please leave suggestions, concerns, questions in the comments below.
1. Have the ability to add (to the list) and delete (from the list) coins.
2. Be able to change the order of the list (based on "Price" and etc...)

I like how clicking a coin, gives you the different prices from different exchanges (hope to see the data being fetched from more exchanges).
5446  Other / Meta / Re: Malfunctioning search functions on: February 15, 2018, 10:14:18 AM
I am trying to use the advanced search functions for "Message age between x and y days" and even though I search for posts older than 6 months, I still get returned posts from November.

Similarly, when I sort the posts from oldest to newest the top results are not necessarily the oldest.
- On the last column (Date Posted), the indicated dates shows the dates that those respective threads (that had the search results [posts]) were created.
- Since you had it at "oldest topics first", then what you're seeing in the top, is composed of the oldest results/post (for that particular keyword). You can try and click the above line of each quotes from the results and you'll be able to clearly see it's functioning the way it supposed to be.

Am I doing something wrong in my search? Would appreciate any help on this.
No, you're doing everything correctly (with a bit of misunderstanding for how results are shown).
5447  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ⛓LIST⛓ BitcoinTalk's Escrow Providers: Ranking & Blacklist ☠ Avoid Scammers ☠ on: February 15, 2018, 05:34:54 AM
I see the image again. Last time I only saw the member part, not sure why the image wasn't available.
There was a bug (2 months ago) that disabled images to show normally. theymos fixed it but still from time to time, some of the images aren't shown normally.

P.S. If anyone is getting problem viewing that image just refresh the page. If that's not enough please let me know.
Refreshing the page will do the trick.
5448  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New Bitcointalk Account price calculator on: February 14, 2018, 04:26:45 AM
I tried it out, it says my "RANK IS NOT ENOUGH". Don't know what that means, I'm a Hero Member.  Grin
Wasn't able to replicate that error, using your UID. I got this (regarding your account):
Quote
User Id: 816073
Username: cryptodv
Posts: 1974
Good Post: 695
Activity: 686 (Hero Member)
Merit: 500
SMAS Blacklisted: No
Trust: Neutral
Calculated Price: 0.1186

Do not forget to write your suggestions and opinions about the project.
Since you made some changes to the original algorithm that achow101 had, may I know how "Good Post" category is being measured? If it's based on certain character count, then the results are irrelevant.
5449  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: February 14, 2018, 02:59:14 AM
I have over 60 activity but I'm still Jr Member. Can anyone explain why?  Thanks !
If you took a minute to actually read the thread, you would've seen the answer within the first 3 lines of the OP.

Ranks

Update on 2/3/18: Merit points are now added
In addition to the activity points, merit points (click for more information) are required to advance your ranking.

John (John K.): Since you updated the thread recently (in regards to addition of merits), then it would be worth to update the "Limits on PMs" table to the "New PM limits" table as well.
5450  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Token for Steemit of News? - Please Critique on: February 13, 2018, 09:30:53 AM
I would appreciate any critical, positive, or neutral commentary.
1. Just to be clear, the amount generated on the platform pool is the combined advertising earnings for everyone, am I right? If "Yes", then those that contributed more towards the ad revenue, will earn less than they should (since generated visitors of a certain article, doesn't always result in same percentage for ad revenue of the platform).

2. Also why as a form of a token? It's like adding an unnecessary layer.

On a side note: Great website you got there.
5451  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trouble searching the Forum on: February 13, 2018, 06:26:15 AM
Hi, every time , for weeks now, I try to search the forum for info I get the message "you are trying to search to quickly, please wait, etc..."

The google search works, however, this is not where I wish to search, I wish to search this forum... can you help please?

Frustrated noob
I tested using my "Newbie" alt account and was able to replicate it, however this wasn't the case using my original account. It's account related (meaning you have to normally use forum and rank up, before that limitation is lifted).

- Simply lurking here (like how you've been doing since the creation of your account), isn't going to help.
- Based on the following message that I got (for my "Newbie" alt account):
Quote
"You are searching too quickly. Wait 90 seconds. (There is a Google-based search engine on the search page that does not have this limit.)"
Then waiting for "90 seconds", shouldn't be that much of an issue...
5452  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Changelly SCAMMED me today. Read the FACTS here. on: February 13, 2018, 04:59:40 AM
But FFS, Charlie Shrem himself recommended these cowboys. Based on Charlie's word, i trusted them.
He works with them. He's their "business development advisor".

Proof 1
Proof 2

More can be found easily.

One day they too will run away with everyones money.
Agreed. When an exchange platform performs the way they do (for the past year), they should be considered as a red flag.
Having said that, they used to be good in the earlier days but that's no longer the case (constant complaints here and there).

It appears your issue, has been fixed.
5453  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to know if someone has quoted or reply my post ? on: February 12, 2018, 08:39:15 PM
wow this is lifesaver, now no more the day of endless torment finding threads and posts, thank you so much !
You're welcome.

Tried it but it seem the results are too much for someone with a username that's like mine and besides I didn't saw some "nvq4596".
- Having common words as your username, will result in showing excessive results that at the same time, makes finding those who quoted and replied to your post a difficult and impossible task.
- Regarding "...  from: nvq4596", that was meant for the "OP" of this thread (nvq4596).

It might be easier if its going to have some alert system where it's going to be noticed and will force people to check back the thread whenever they are quote.
Indeed. Someone suggested something within those lines (recently).
5454  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to know if someone has quoted or reply my post ? on: February 12, 2018, 09:14:16 AM
it really painful to looking at all the thread to find if someone has quoted my post, is there an easier way to do it ?
Click the magnifier button (in front of the "Search" button at the upper right corner of any page) > It opens the "Set Search Parameters" window, go to the middle section that says "Search for:" > Type your name then choose the date range from "Message age:" > Click "Search" button on lower left area > You'll see a quote that has the following words at the beginning: "...  from: nvq4596" and on top of that, name of the person that quoted and replied to your post (by ...) > Then click the title of the thread that has "Re:" before it (it goes straight to where that user made the post).

This is the result for the past 3 days (for your account): https://imgur.com/a/qcNNb (make sure to click the image, so it zooms in)
5455  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Changelly SCAMMED me today. Read the FACTS here. on: February 12, 2018, 07:22:46 AM
I got freaked out and asked for a refund because i checked the google reviews and there were tons of "Changelly is a scam" posts across the net.
They are now ignoring all my support tickets and the more i read online, the more i realize changelly is a scam.
You should've done your research prior to using it. There's a lot of complaints against them (recently) and with a simple search for their account here "Changelly", you'll end up seeing the negative review/feedback given by others.

But it has nearly been 24 hours and nothing has been refunded.
Based on my observation: Whenever there's an issue, it takes more than 24 hrs for them to fix it.

Given how recent events are folding, I no longer trust them.
5456  Other / Meta / Re: Reason behind having no "Moderators" for some of the local language boards? on: February 12, 2018, 06:13:47 AM
My prediction that theymos so far didn't found users who would be capable and competent to be a mods of these boards.
For 3 of the local boards I mentioned earlier, I didn't see a sign (that he was looking for one, unless I missed it) and for the other one, considering the time he created this thread, I find it hard to accept that there's no one to fit for those criteria.

For example - Politics & Society (one of the worst boards nowadays)
Basically it's "Off-topic Version 2".

Giving a chance to a selected mod for a limited period (kind of trial period) could be a temporary solution (no power - report directly to another mod)
Then there's no reason to promote someone since they will basically do what others do (directly reporting to a mod is similar to using the "Report to moderator" button).

It probably isn't a mandatory requirement, because in the cases where there has been demotion (I was unaware of these, just going off your OP) it would be unfair to delete the entire board; probably more work than reward, too, because the board will inevitably rise again in the future.
I wasn't going for deleting a local board due to lack of a moderator.

I can't say for sure, but it is probable that they pick moderators, in part, by how actively they participate and patrol that particular board.
I've noticed few of the promoted moderators, haven't been that active in participating on their own local language threads (those located in "Other languages/locations") prior to creation of their local language boards.

There would have to be a period of activity in order to determine who would fit the criteria and rise to the top, so naturally this leaves that board without a moderator until all of the criteria are able to be considered.
That's the issue. These things should be considered prior to creation of those local boards, not after. I'm sure there's a way to measure each user based on where they are (regardless of VPN usage and etc...), so they can be monitored prior to creation of these local boards.
5457  Other / Meta / Reason behind having no "Moderators" for some of the local language boards? on: February 11, 2018, 01:47:20 PM
1. Was curious to know why some of the local languages that already have their own boards, still have no dedicated "Moderator"?

a. Hrvatski (Croatian) - A bit of exception (due to how events folded)
b. 日本語 (Japanese) - Last created local board, through a request
c. 한국어 (Korean) - Also a bit of exception since "theymos posted this"
d. Skandinavisk

Even though for few of the above there's the cases of demotion, the question still applies (due to lack in moderation within these periods)...

2. Just to be clear, I'm not involved in any of the above local boards but was also wondering why having a "Moderator" in mind, isn't mandatory prior to creating a local language board (unlike for demand and etc...)?
5458  Economy / Marketplace / Re: upwork job offers that pay bitcoin. on: February 11, 2018, 07:14:09 AM
ive been meaning to find a work there to earn some btc. id really appreciate it. thanks
You've been using the wrong platform. You're better off using one of the following instead:

1. XBTFreelancer
2. WorkingForBitcoins
3. cryptogrind
4. Coinality

Take note: I haven't tested any of them.

it's against Upwork's rule to be paid outside their service.
This.
5459  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Slick Cryptocurrency News Aggregator on: February 11, 2018, 06:23:09 AM
I would love to hear your feedback here 🙂
I'm impressed.

Few issues and suggestions:

1. Upon clicking "Discuss on Forum" button at the top of each table (the one with CryptoHeresy logo), it goes back to the main page of "preev".
2. When adding a lot of coins, it would be better to have them to add up "Vertically" instead (so we can easily scroll it using our mouse).
3. Ability to resize each coins respective section, like how it's done for "Trollbox".

On a side note:

Are you connected to "robwspi" that has posted this thread? Both of you seem to use a similar template (for your main website "preev.net").
