One could send a email to the actual email of Julian as listed on the website and ask if they know about this project or that they are using his name to scam others. My guess is that the project would be a scam anyway but lets keep the skepticism awake.
Even though I am sure beyond reasonable doubt that they stole photo for "Julien Blair" from Julien Gauthier and that he has nothing to do with Gchain, I actually sent him email, asking whether he is in any way connected to this or not. I also asked @Gchain about that in their ANN, but even though they were online when I asked them that, they are ignoring it for now. If they keep ignoring it, flag will be raised soon. Few things doesn't add up here, for me to believe them: - Photo altering. Why would they reverse the image instead just using the same one like on Julien Gauthier website?
- Why would Julien Gauthier change his last name to Blair?
- Brand new LinkedIn account for Julien Blair where he mentions nothing about all his extensive experience, while Julien Gauthier as part of ILM worked on some top movies like Star Wars. Beside that, Julien Gauthier has his own LinkedIn account (I just added it) where he mentions nothing about Gchain.
Ill update this thread when/if I get a response from Julien Gauthier.

Hi @Gchain Care to explain why you used another person's photo for your "CEO and Lead Blockchain" Julien Blair? And what's the real identity of that person? Proof of you taking the photo from someone else is in this scam accusation thread which you can use to explain this situation https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5284719.0

Congrats OP!
You are another example that you don't have to be all knowledgeable native English speaker in order to be respected and helpful member of bitcointalk community. Forum perfectly mimics real life, as in both of these cases working hard pays off. Especially helpful for me were your scam busting guides, when I was new member slowly getting into that, and learning from more experienced members.
Next big milestone is getting that Legendary rank. RNG gods were not particularly favorable of you so far, but let's hope that changes soon and you get that rank you already deserved.
Onwards and upwards!

How an announcement thread fall into rule no. 1? Announcement thread wouldn't consider pointless or zero value post either its scam or not. Doesn't matter no one is interested in an announcement thread, useless they broke forum rules, moderators can't take action.
I know that whether its scam or not is not important due scams not being moderated, but if some topic only has shill accounts and no one else, I am asking can it be seen as low value and therefore deleted. And if not, maybe its time for a change of policy. If someone using a bumping service then they are breaking rules and the thread would be trashed. For that, I have been writing PM to moderators about why I believe thread should be trashed. And good thing is, I got positive responses from the moderators. I don't think simply use the report for the whole thread would be effective. Otherwise, you have to report one by one spam post. But it wouldn't trash the main thread IMO.
Both of those examples in my first post (ZYX and Baex) are using bumping services, hence the all those shill accounts spamming there. As a matter of fact, here is a list of more than 70 of those, that have been identified by others and me. I honestly had no idea that by simply proving they are using bumping service is a reason enough for thread deletion. If that really is the case, then all those threads from the list should be deleted and that basically answers my question as I mentioned that as one of the criteria to be met before nuking the thread.

I rarely saw topics deleted entirelly. But I saw many topics locked by mods. Even this approach would be a good one for such topics mentioned by you. But it would be nice to have a confirmation from a (global) mod that if you report those topics they'll be locked indeed and to ensure you that such reports won't remain unhandled (or, even worst, flagged as bad).
Sure, even locking would be better than what we have at the moment. And yeah, it would be nice to hear mods opinion of that, so I know if there is a point in reporting such threads, instead getting "unhandled" or "bad" mark. Problem with doing this is that it would take a lot of time to delete or nuke all those crap topics, and there would be no real result because they will just create new topics.
Well, shit topics are regularly deleted, either because of low level of discussion there or simply due being redundant so it wouldn't be something that never happened, albeit not in the Altcoin Announcement section (at least not that I know of) but I've seen it happening in Bitcoin Discussion board. My argument is that those two threads that I gave as an example are low value and redundant, and imho should be deleted/locked/archived. It doesn't even have to be done to every single crap topic, but just to those worst cases where there is absolutely no real interest, only shill accounts asking stupid questions while OP doesn't even bother answering them. If that is not a low value topic, I don't know what is. I think it is time for some autumn clean in forum, don't you think so? It would be nice, to make more room when we reach new ATH and bunch of new people come

I am going straight to the question: Is it possible to delete announcement threads that have no real interest, OP is not sharing news/updates and basically only ones that are active are shill accounts? I know that usual practice is to delete those threads that organize giveaways in exchange for payment (breaking the rule nr 28) , but why not expand it to announcement threads that are doing almost the same thing by hiring one of those "marketing agencies"? Here are few examples of threads which are tirelessly spammed for months and meet the above mentioned criteria (no activity from legit members, inactive OP, huge amount of posts deleted due shill account spam): 1. ZYX NetworkPonzi scheme previously known as PZM Cash. According to https://loyce.club/archive/details/topic_5265765.html more than 650 posts were written in the last couple of months, while currently there are only 32, making it more than 95% posts deletion. Out of those 32 still there, 14 were written by OP who is inactive for more than a month, 2 posts were written by what it seems to be legit members, and rest is just spam made by shill accounts, waiting to be deleted. 2. Baex dAppThis ANN is even more explicit example. According to https://loyce.club/archive/topics/527/5278713.html, 221 posts were written there, while currently there are only 33 posts. Out of those posts that are still there, only first post was written by OP, after which he went AFK, and all others posts were made by shill accounts and are also waiting to be reported and deleted by mods after which deletion rate will be 99% This one failed to generate any interest whatsoever since creation once month ago, there are only shill accounts active day after day while OP is completely inactive. @icopress recently created topic in scam accusation board about few similar threads ANN Removal Request: Uncommonn, Amepay, MSKMINER, Monolith but unfortunately there was no response and threads are still there. One comment from @nutildah made me thinking about possibility to start nuking those threads instead playing whack-a-mole. I just know that sometimes threads are deleted if pretty much every single comment in them is mindless spam and there isn't any organic activity going on within it. With the Coinsbit spammers, at least they post information about the exchange, like updates and such. Threads just full of comments like "when moon sir" are more ripe for deletion by mods.
Can be topics like those be seen as breaking the rule nr 1 and delete them on that basis? They have no interest and very low value since the only ones active are shill accounts. 1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads.
Thoughts/opinions?

I reported to the MOD also this thread when I saw there is a referral link but it seems OP was edited the thread and also the ref link.
Based on archived posts there was some kind of link, most likely referral link as you said https://loyce.club/archive/posts/5545/55450788.html. Too bad he edited it before mods had time to react and thrash his thread. But well, he is tagged and flagged, so hopefully no one from forum invests in that little scam. They just trying to convince investors by smart contract scheme, but really nothing except a scam attempt. Any legit sites wouldn't return 1% daily either in is on a smart contract.
Scammers do like to use ignorance of others so they like to claim that it can;t be scam if its on blockchain. Few scammers even told me that ridicsolous think, when they were defending Forsage like ponzi scheme "If its on blockchain it ain't scam". Worst of all, it seems that people are buying that bullshit. Stay away from this! These Certificate of Incorporation is absolutely no guarantee for anything. If you "invest" here, you will lose your money for sure.
True, that certificate can be bought for a few pounds, and you can state basically anything there as Companies House doesn't verify the info in there. Rule of thumb: when you see that thing on the website, you can be pretty sure that it is a scam, as only them brag with something like that. I wrote short explanation about it some time ago Certificate of Incorporation- what it is and why it shouldn't be trusted!

What happened: Ponzi scheme promising 1% daily return. They hide behind Ethereum smart contract, wanting to appear legit and transparent, but in the end they are just another ponzi scheme and nothing more. Flag Type 1 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2411ANN https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5284350.msg55450790#newArchive https://archive.fo/wmmMP#selection-505.0-496.8Website https://ethx2.io/Archive https://archive.fo/XMh9dDomain Name: ETHX2.IO Registry Domain ID: D503300001186602166-LRMS Registrar WHOIS Server: whois.namecheap.com Registrar URL: www.namecheap.comUpdated Date: 2020-10-01T19:07:39Z Creation Date: 2020-10-01T19:07:37Z Registry Expiry Date: 2021-10-01T19:07:37Z It's very simple they say, all you have to do is deposit ETH and you get 1% daily. We all know that legit ETH staking platform doesn't promise you such returns, unless it is a ponzi scheme. ETHx2 helps all the investors earn 200% of what they are investing without working. All that you have to do is invest your ETH and watch as your profits start rising.
As most of similar scams, they like boast with Certificate of Incorporation while in reality that piece of paper doesn't mean anything.

Our Croatian local section could use one more source for sure. I don't remember when somebody got more than 1 merit in single transaction which shows how tight things are.
When you look at our activity, post quality and amount of merit shared, there is definitely room for at least one more merit source in our local board. Situation would be even worse if we are not so active in the English part of the forum, otherwise it would be extremely hard to rank up by being mostly active in our local board. September results were above average for our board (most of the time we are at the bottom end) while this month will probably be worse.
But you can point out the absence of TMAN and chimk (which together represent a large number of merits).
There is another big merit source that is AFK since May, bones261. According to @Coin-1 list of The most generous users giving merits he is at 7th spot (chimk at 5th and TMAN at 18th), and his absence is definitely felt at the Scam accusation board where he left big chunk of monthly allocation prior taking a break. Add on that one member from Turkish board that stopped being merit source at his own request, and there is a big gap compared to year ago. Let's just hope theymos sees it like that and he introduces new ones soon.

There's probably more connections to this user who doesn't seem too concerned with their alts being banned.
Probably yeah, he obviously doesn't care since five out of six accounts are using the same address and that number "22" in the name. He knows that when those accounts get banned that he can simply make few ones and continue with bounty campaign spamming. Business as usual for an average bounty hunter. By the way, thanks for correcting me, I edited that post. You are right, See22 and epi22 are not banned yet, but hopefully they will be soon.

Instead of reporting hundreds of them why not make it hard for them to make their scamming business?
It's already hard for them to go unnoticed here since we have very active group of scam busters that check pretty much every new altcoin that appears in that board. Sure, some may slip through, but nothing is 100% scam proof. Most scams probably avoid bitcointalk for that reason, as they know they would get tagged almost instantly. There were many suggestions how to deal with that board, some even went as far as suggesting to close that board altogether, but that would be an overkill, and same is your suggestion, even though is well intended and would lower to amount of crap in the altcoin section. It's simply unlikely that lower rank accounts will get more restrictions.

It's not only the case in Romanian local board, as absolutely every other local board (that has marketplace section of course) except our has trust visible, so there is no reason not too make that change and enable it.
@marlboroza Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to add request to make trust visible in Altcoin part of our local board. Since Trust is visible in the English Altcoin section and in some other local boards, why not make it visible in ours too? Especially since we know scammy tendencies of altcoin projects.

Imamo pozitivan odgovor od moderatora C.! Odlicna vijest, svaka cast.

I'm honestly getting lost in all those yfi/yearn scam variations. They all have very similar name, just changing or adding a word and that's it. I guess that's scammers goal, to make them so similar to each other that people can't recognize anymore which one is legit and which one is scam. Even though there is no much difference between those.
Can't wait for all this hype to pass, but I'm afraid consequences will be even worse than that ICO hype back in 2017/2018.

@nullius for every proof presented to you that moon does exists, you’ll be able to find proofs that it doesn’t exist, hence it’s very difficult to change your opinion about the moon.
Lastly in my personal opinion people should be free to follow any theory they believe in, till it doesn’t cause harm to the society and in this case it’s not causing harm to anyone so feel free to believe that moon doesn’t exist.
Unless I completely misunderstood him (which I doubt), @nullius is making fun of the typical nonsense that you can read in this section. And its true, people are free to believe in any conspiracy theory they want, and we are free to ridicule those beliefs too
