5581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos - Aug 14 on: August 30, 2021, 11:27:44 AM

Hopefully, he will be back in his old self because there are boxers that are affected by Covid-19 and lost the fight. Lopez is a tough and so is Kambosos, that's why this fight is really intriguing on papers. But we will see what Kambosos is made of, fighting the champion. I don't think that Lopez will make an excuse and blame Covid-19 if ever he losses this one. And who knows, there could be rematch clause or he will ask for a rematch.

It's a bad excuse if he going to blame Covid as the cause if he losses the fight there's no study that will pinpoint to Covid as something that could harm the athlete's performance, and it's too early to talk of a rematch and rematch will depend if the match is too close that the fight goes either way, what makes this fight every interesting is both guys love to engage and they promise to do that, let's see if they can do that.

I don't want another boring fight like what happened to the Casimero - Rigondeaux fight, we are shortchanged on that fight.

I don't think we will see a boring fight, but it could be one sided as it might be a complete domination by Canelo again. Maybe same with the Saunders fight, it's very competitive in the early rounds, but as fatigue sets in, they are going to open up and then Canelo, which is known to be a slow starter could start to get hot around round 4 and then uses his skills to outbox Plant as the fight progresses and could end the fight in less than 10 rounds.
5582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 30, 2021, 10:54:38 AM
Another update regarding the Portland Trail Blazers.
In the sign-and-trade that brought Lauri Markkanen to Cleveland, the Cavaliers gave Larry Nance Jr. to the Portland Trail Blazers much to the chagrin of Cavs fans who particularly appreciated the player's contribution to the team. Larry Nance Jr. publicly thanked Cleveland saying he wanted to leave the Cavs to play for a team with greater ambitions in the short term. The player's agent considered this trade like a win-win.
Good luck then Larry.

A lot of hype on Larry Nance Jr when he joined the NBA, he was solid to the Lakers way back but have to be traded and unfortunately, he went to a non contender team in Cavs.

But since he is not in Portland, I do hope that we will see more of him, specially his high lights dunks as what his father was famous for while playing in the NBA.

I'm happy for him, at least he is now playing in a young team that is always consistent in getting the playoffs, maybe he will be a big help for the team as his aggressiveness is what Portland is needed down low. He can help Jusuf Nurkic not to play much especially in the playoffs as that's the reason why he is always in foul trouble because there's no other big guy that could defend the center of their opponent, especially Jokic.

I think he will be a good fit for the Blazers, but not sure if he can be the one to help Nurkic.

Nance Jr is a dribble penetrator and not an inside defender, maybe he can grab a couple of rebounds from time to time so that's a big help already. I think he will be like the replacement for Melo, coming off the bench to provide some scoring specially in closing out games. Because it's always Dame at the closing minutes, at least they have another options.
5583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley on: August 30, 2021, 10:21:57 AM
Woodley had a shot in the 4th round. It looked like he was going to put Jake to sleep for a minute. He never attacked though and slipped into a clinch, letting Jake out of the round. Not the best fight, but Jake still won and the Paul show keeps going.

Yeah, but he didn't follow up, he could have knock out Jake but he let him off the hook. We can see the clear difference between a pure boxer and a MMA here, seems that the only way for Woodley to win is to take him down, hehehe.

Regardless, I agree that Jake was exposed, he is tired and his punch doesn't have a pop from round 5. The problem with Woodley is that he has no activity as well, between he gasses out also.
5584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Cotto vs Marquez - Exhibition match on: August 29, 2021, 07:58:34 PM
I'm locking the thread for good, it looks like the fight will not push through:

Quote
Plans are no longer in place for a showdown between Miguel Cotto and Juan Manuel Marquez.

The previously scheduled exhibition match has moved from extended postponement to outright cancellation, Promociones Miguel Cotto executive director Bryan Perez confirmed with BoxingScene.com. The bout was once due to take place June 12 and then put on hold for later in the year but with no plans to explore a new date.

“It is no longer on our agenda,” Hector Soto, vice president of Promociones Miguel Cotto confirmed with Primera Hota, who first reported the news Thursday afternoon. “It’s not happening anymore; it’s over.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/cotto-marquez-exhibition-no-longer-play-not-revisited--160148

We have dream that somewhat even though way past their primes, we can see these two engage in the ring even in an exhibition match. But they are no longer interested.
5585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos - Aug 14 on: August 29, 2021, 07:31:14 PM
is he afraid that he might lose in their second fight?

For me this is the single reason why he doesn't want to give Loma a second fight. He knows deep inside that he beat a injured Loma, as we can see in the fight, Loma is not throwing enough punches because he is nursing a injury. He even tells Loma to go back to 130 lbs.

There's also this kind of disrespect that the Lopez felt thrown on them early while Teo was a no name in boxing. Story goes that the old Lopez tries to talk to Loma but Loma snub him and his son. So there was a history between them even before the fight and now they won't to give Loma a chance.

And we all know that Lopez is acting like a dick after getting all the belts and now feels that he is the pound for pound.

His been acting like a dick, showboat and brandish but he can back it up in the ring.
5586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley on: August 26, 2021, 06:35:40 AM
I’m not even sure who I think will win. I feel like Jake Paul might lose this one, even though Dana White was pretty clear that Woolley is past his prime and unable to win in the fighting sport he’s a professional in. I don’t think Jake has ever faced such an opponent and I think he’ll be surprised how tough he is. Still, I’d love to see him win so the shit show can continue.

Base on the current odds, ML

Woodley - 2.60
Paul - 1.48

So that is a huge gap and gamblers think that Paul will score a victory here easy.

Woodley might be tough, but this is a different ball game for him. But for sure this will be a good fight for Woodley as he will be given a chance to make money again and exposed Paul if he ever pulls an upset in this fight.
5587  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which currencies are suitable for money laundering? on: August 26, 2021, 05:56:33 AM
Which currencies are suitable for money laundering?

For example, dirty transactions, I don’t want to be known by others about what I bought and how much money I spent, and I can’t track it.

Can you recommend some currencies and exchanges that do not require KYC? At present, I only know that Monero is highly anonymous,

I don't want to used to term money laundering, but if you wanted to hide your tracks then you can used BTC, but used mixer and other tumbling services out there.

Monero is another one, you can look at other privacy coins that will provide anonymity in your transactions + Tor.
5588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos - Aug 14 on: August 25, 2021, 07:53:41 PM
Kambosos did not caused the fight to be delayed, the last postponement was due to Lopez getting infected by the corona virus. And Lopez doesn't want to and travel to Australia (Kambosos home country) to fight because of home cook decision (remember Pacquiao vs Horn)?
What does the home cook decision mean? I thought this fight has already happened and I just didn't saw the result or I missed it but it seems that it's postponed again and again. Hopefully they settle this fight so we can move on and see other upcoming matches.

Maybe what he meant is that Lopez is against fighting Kambosos in his home soil because of the possibility that the decision might be biased if the fight goes to distance and the decision will go to the judges hand.

We have this happened to Manny Pacquiao against Jeff Horn in Australia wherein majority saw Pacquiao winning the fight but the judges seems to see it differently because the final score show Horn ahead on three judges. And Lopez doesn't want that to happen to him.
5589  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Bull Attempts to Break $50,000 - A Psychological Hurdle as well as The Next on: August 25, 2021, 06:56:50 PM
I agree that bitcoin is taking a new upward trend, but we should not forget that fundamental factors are also very influential in this direction, and we just shouldn't rely on technical analysis.

Given that the fundamentals are getting stronger by the day, it's good to look at technical analysis as well and see if they jive. Of course, we shouldn't rely on technical analysis as this is not an exact science, but majority of us here uses it as a sort of a guide because it definitely helps.

So that round number again, we have breach it already, but not enough to really hold on it and sustain. Maybe the second try is going to be different and we can reclaim it again before the end of the week.
5590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance denies allegations of market manipulation on: August 24, 2021, 11:01:06 PM
The burden of proof will be on the accuser, let's see if he/she can come out with evidences against Binance. I'm not defending Binance per se, but we all know that when you are on top, everyone is going to throw stones at you.

I wonder though why the accuser's twitter account has been deleted: https://twitter.com/RealFulltimeApe/. So let's see how it goes, again, I'm interested to see what data this individual can show to us Binance traders and make our decision it there is market manipulation from behind or not.
5591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 24, 2021, 10:30:33 PM
Just playing devil advocates here:

Ugas said that he is willing to give Manny a rematch? What can you say about that? hehehe

Quote
“Two-hundred percent,” Ugas said in reference to a rematch during their post-fight press conference Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena. “You know, Manny’s a great legend, great fighter. You know, if he wants a rematch, no question about it. You know, a legend like that deserves it.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/yordenis-ugas-if-manny-pacquiao-wants-rematch-legend-like-deserves-it--160093

Of course, it will be a money grab for Ugas here, for sure he will get at least more than 10% of the previous purse he got. I know that majority of us wanted Manny to retire and move on with his political career. He has a tight schedule if he rans for the Presidency, but will he take the bait to fight Ugas again?
5592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 24, 2021, 02:16:17 PM
Hello guys, how are you?

So, I talked to some friends at my work, and they commented that Kawhi Leonard could join the Spurs, is that true!!? I confess that I was confused.
I did a quick search and Leonard renewed with Clippers for another 4 years, right!!?

Your office mates are playing with you, Kawhi has left San Antonio and I would say that it was a bad split, so I doubt that he will come back there.

I wish the Clippers could bring in other good players to include in the team!

I guess they are somewhat in over the luxury tax or salary cap limit. That's why they have to trade Pat Beverley and Rondo. So I doubt that they can still acquire another players in their roster.
5593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos - Oct 5 on: August 24, 2021, 11:44:31 AM
As least we have some development regarding this fight:

Lopez-Kambosos Eyed For October 5 At MSG's Hulu Theater; Contracts Due To IBF By Close Of Business Tuesday

Quote
A long overdue clash for the world lightweight championship will finally see the light of day.

Hopefully.

The oft-postponed lineal/WBA/IBF/WBO lightweight title fight between defending champion Teofimo Lopez (16-0, 12KOs) and mandatory challenger George Kambosos Jr. (19-0, 10KOs) is likely to remain stateside. BoxingScene, com has been informed by representatives directly involved with the event that a fight date has been set aside for October 5 at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater in New York City.

https://www.boxingscene.com/lopez-kambosos-eyed-october-5-msgs-hulu-theater-contracts-due-ibf-by-close-business-tuesday--160088

I do hope that this will be the final schedule for this fight, I would say this is much anticipated after Lopez beat Loma. Loma has already move on and beat Nakatani. Now it times for Lopez to defend his title against the Australian. I agree that this is long overdue, with so many postponent. They still have enough time to promote this fight and I'm sure both boxers are eager to face each other.
5594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anderson Silva vs Tito Ortiz on September 11 on: August 24, 2021, 09:41:22 AM
This seems like an obvious money grab. Both guys are really old and shouldn't be fighting anymore. Silva showed he can still compete against low level washed up fighters like Chavez Jr. but against a real contender he would get hurt badly. Tito has never boxed professionally so I am not sure what to expect from him but he can't possible be that good. If the fight was on basic cable then I might tune in but since it is on PPV I have no intention of buying it.

Yes, this is the trend now, ex-MMA still trying to make money because of the pandemic. But I don't see any real contender though wanting to fight the likes of Silva. Tito is also a wash up fighter, but if we are going to base on who's active, Silva might have the edge. I'm also not interested on buying this in PPV, just a waste of money. But for those hardcore fans of both fighters, they might go for it.

I agree that this is now fast becoming a trend. But I don't think this is them making money because of the pandemic. This is simply them, retired fighters, making money well beyond their golden days.

Yeah, it could be but the pandemic has given them more reasons to fight again and make money. I don't think that this guys are going to fight if we are in the norm. But with the pandemic, nothing to do, so this is their excuse.

This trend is more like only the entertainment in sports entertainment. Silva can box, yes, but he's not really a boxer. As for the old Tito, he's even less of a boxer than Silva. So I don't know what they are going to show to the fans except that they're two big names of old trying to put up a fight in a sport they both didn't excel.

That's what I'm talking about, entertainment because of the obvious lull in sports because of the pandemic. Probably just trying to punch each other out until someone gets exhausted (most likely Ortiz).
5595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Only good coins survive the dip on: August 23, 2021, 11:59:10 PM
The phrase buy the dip is only a good advice when you apply it properly by buying the very good altcoins whose value is only down because of the bearish market condition. Because it is not all coins that dip that would recover their value.

And that's why we have the term shitcoin, those coin that don't offer any value in the market but for pure pump and dump. So in the bearish cycle, they are going to die.

For example, early this year (when the market was super bullish) almost all the projects released saw good increase in their value. but that doesn't mean it is all of them that were very good projects. After the market dip (correction), most of them never recovered their value. The crypto market is filled with a lot of scrap altcoins and the market way of sheding them off is to dip (correction). So it would be in your best interest to only buy very good coins in the market dip.

You just have to look at Ethereum, during the bearish cycle, it went as low as $450 if my memory serves me right. But look at the current price, above $3k. So if you invested on 2018, then the profit is already huge. Personally, I didn't invest on it, but it is a huge mistake on my end, big lessons to learn.
5596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Casimero Bantamweight Unification Fight on: August 23, 2021, 11:29:21 PM
The problem with this division is that there are no US names, maybe except Donaire who have been campaigning for many years in this division, but I do think that Inoue and Casimero is not yet a household name, they are just starting to build one in the US soil. So both of there promoters, specially Inoue, should  established their names first, create more hype so that US fans will buy their tickets and make more money for Bob, just like what he did to the career of Manny Pacquiao.
The problem with this is that there is no reputation builder that is stronger than to beat the best when it matters, Manny eventually became a household name not because his promoters and marketing tactics were excellent but because he was a legendary fighter, if anyone wants to reach that status then the way to do so is not by avoiding good fighter in order to increase hype but by training harder and increase their abilities as boxers even further.
if Inoue would not fight our Filipino boxer Casimero, then he better move up in weight so he could find a great match.
He would, that was the latest news now.

Naoya Inoue Wants Casimero This Year, ‘I Want To Beat Him To The Ground’

That news hopefully will come into reality, if there's indeed a fight this year then we can expect a contract to be sign soon as its necessary that it will sign the soonest so both fighters will start their respective training in preparation for a big fight this year.

I don't think there's a problem with the money they can potentially make in this fight, besides, Inoue is just starting to build his name in the US, so fighting the toughest challenger per paper is definitely the most interesting thing to do for him now.

That's up to the promoters as they will be the one who would invest in this fight.

Sometimes promoters are the reasons why a certain bout is getting delayed even if their fans are clamoring for it.
With the taunting that Casimero is doing, seems that he really got the interest of Inoue to fight him inside the ring.
If the promoters will see the noise of this match, they can easily forge a deal and make it happen.
We still have 4 months to go before ending this year, so this is really possible to happen.
If Casimero will lose this fight, maybe, his trash talking will slow down. So it is interesting to see this fight.

Yes, still boils down to the promoters and how much money they are going to make. If that is not viable, then Top Rank will stir Inoue to other fighters until the interest builds again creating more hype.

As @bisdak40 have said, Inoue is the A-side, whatever Casimero trash talk, it will be like 70/30 purse. But probably this fight might take place early next year, that is it Bob Arum is willing.
5597  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Price Prediction on: August 23, 2021, 10:53:05 PM
If we get to have the same price cycles as the previous bull markets at the end of the year, $100k is very conservative. Even Raoul Pal is predicting $200k EoY if my memory serves me right lol. But then again, it's a huge 'if'.

Yeah, at the current phase of the bull run, $112-$120k conservative estimates, but as you have said, just a wild and educated guess so let's see how it goes.

Whatever price BTC lands this year, don't forget to cash out some of those profits. For all we know, next year could be very different from what these optimist analysts says. I'm still of the opinion that bear season will come soon following the previous market cycles.

I do hope that we can time the top and cash out, but it's going to be difficult as well. Of course, it's inevitable, this market goes on a bullish/bearish cycle. But it could be that we might a different cycle as we all know that bitcoin's narrative has change. We might see two super cycles or bull run or one long bearish cycle.
5598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 23, 2021, 10:25:57 PM
And they are not building a championship team that will last for 3-4 years. The best is that this team will stay for 2 years and then the Lakers starts rebuilding again. Melo and Westbrook are looking for their first ring and this is the best chance before they retire, specially Melo.
You're right, but I would say that the Lakers will stay current roster only for next season, considering that they signed 1-year contracts with many bench players like Howard, Melo, Ariza. I guess this roster is an experiment for the Lakers management, and they probably will rebuild the team again if the Lakers don't win the title next year.

Every new team adjustment/roster is an experiment. But I think this Lakers team is kinda over stacked, and there might be some conflicts on playing style with these veteran superstars. It's all up to them on how the players is going to adjust with the Lakers and LeBron system.
I hope Melo and Ariza will fit with the current Laker roster.

Right, this is sort of experiment too, but this are veterans already, so for sure in just couple of games they will know how to fit into the system, who is the starting five, who will be the six man and who will play defense. Ariza might be the one to play defensive on the opposing team 1-3 position.

I've heard the Lakers are chasing for Isiah Thomas? I'm not sure if it's true.

Yeah, the rumour has been circulating around after IT has a worked out with the Lakers. Remember that he did play as well with the Lakers in the past, so he is more familiar with the team and organisation.
5599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 23, 2021, 01:02:15 PM
Pacquiao said that he experience leg cramps starting on round 2. Not one but both of his legs are cramping according to him, might be due to overtraining, or because he is really not that young anymore.

I've posted my bet on Manny to win by UD, but I think he lost because he doesn't have anymore. So it's a concern if he still wants another fight, might be better to retire before he become a damage goods.
