Summary Magi (XMG) is a PoW/PoS hybrid coin (mPoW/mPoS). Magi is designed with difficulty dependent mining reward for proof-of-mining (PoW) blocks in order to put network hashrate under a certain limit. Magi at the first time implements a novel proof-of-staking mechanism, to frustrate potential attack through accumulating a large number of coins and offline staking time (read more..). Magi is at the first concentrating on the low cost in maintaining its block system, for example, through cost effective mining devices. To this end, Magi, aiming at fairness, cost effective and energy efficiency, strives for every single effort to make mining be available to everyone, and provides an even playing field for people looking to issue digital coins without expensive equipment.
mPoW, the magi's proof-of-work (PoW) protocol, in addition to required computational works to be done to deter denial of service attacks, is also a network-dependent rewarding model system. The mPoW rewards participants who solve complicated cryptographical questions not only to validate transactions but also to create new blocks and generate coins. mPoS, the magi's proof-of-stake (PoS) protocol, aims to achieve distributed consensus through operations in addition to mPoW. mPoS is designed such that it rejects potential attacks through accumulating a large amount of coins or offline staking time, either of which leads to security concerns. Similar to mPoW's operation, mPoS is constructed in accordance with the concept of the attraction-repulsion model. For the regular PoS, "Not enough weight" means insufficient staking time. For Magi's PoS (mPoS), however, the cause can be correlated with the over-time staking. The latter is a typical issue raised by people from time to time. There is only one way to solve this which can be done via resetting staking from scratch: send XMG to another address in the same or another wallet. You may want to use the "Coin control" feature in order to select the input sources. Do not try to stake with a significant amount of XMG that mitigates the weight as well. Once this is done, remaining the wallet running shall gains some staking weights.

Has anybody been able to get their coins off of Cryptopia?!? So far nothing has appeared in my wallet or in my NovaExchange account yet Cryptopia says both are completed (I only tried with small amounts to test) ..... I'd like to get off Cryptopia since they say they're delisting XMG at the end of September.
I pulled mine off a couple of weeks ago as a precaution - all was fine for me - Has 'topia been fully delisted now? Can't login to check as I accidentally saved the wrong password and need to get back to my secure PC to retrieve it. I sent another request by Twitter |

Thanks amigo. But i noticed the hashrate is very high on your pool. Remember high hashrate will bring blockrewards down! Also for the big miner. Mining with less hashrate gives efficent more profit if you calculate blockrewards vs powercosts |

This is one of few cryptonote coin left. If those guys with big mining farm come in now as we can see them doing recently, all the small miners are going to be sidestepped! How do we protect loyal CPU miners?
Good question. Thats very difficult. During this period Magi has a unique blockreward system what will drop the when huge miners join in. If the small miners wait for the big miners to leave the blockreward will go up. Only reason why huge miner would stay if they have free power so they have profit with low blockreward. Other huge miners don't get enough coins to give them profits. They will leave and mine other coins. |

Hello people, We've made a bit of changes at Pool42 ! After having made a poll among our miners, it has been decided by the vast majority that the hashrate limit should be increased from 300 KH/s to 600 KH/s in order to be able to have a larger share of the network hashrate. Lol Thank you for your constructive comment. Okay, I explain. For a week you (threatened to) ban users with 300+ kh. For a weeks I told it's a bad idea. And now after pool reward drop and pool closing perspective you forget about pathos words and talk "Okay, we are increasing max hashrate". Lol. You must be mistaking us with another pool. This rule is in place for 20 days. I don't recall having discussed this with you, nor having had a real debate about it. Furthermore we do not ban people going over the limit, these people are automatically kicked out when they are above the limit; they're free to come back afterward. We increased our hashrate limit as things have changed since it was setup. When it was put in place, the average network hashrate was 50 MH/s. Now, Minerclaim and Zpool share about 120 MH/s: things have changed. I think you guys are doing a great job. Its a good thing pools are talking about max hashrate. Never saw that before with other coins. So its a very good progress. |
