561  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: is cloudhashing.com a scam?? on: July 15, 2013, 07:06:54 AM
Sometimes I would go to the casino with $1000 and lose it all in 1 night.  So I decided to quit gambling and place my money into cloudhashing or other asics.  At least there's a better chance of return than gambling at a casino.  At least that's my logic.
562  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I know it's too late, but aren't we shooting ourselves in foot by buying ASIC? on: July 13, 2013, 03:43:40 PM
if we don't buy them, someone else will. Shocked There is no stopping this train, either get onboard or sit in the station. Cool
1+

ASIC's are good.  Bitcoin was designed to make the free market flourish.  I'm sure Satoshi is proud.

Just buy gold with Bitcoin, end of story.

His name in Nigeria is like John Smith in America.

One thing that comforts me.  They're using KNC.  KNC is legit, it's been confirmed. KNC is sponcoring "Life on Bitcoin."  Time will tell when I get that first payment this month
566  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC Miner - Jupiter device: which PSU are you guys planning on using? on: July 07, 2013, 06:04:25 AM
Naturally BFL Josh would say that. But Knc is not an American company, therefore less regulation and more/easier innovation.

Umm...if you think there is less regulation in the EU than the States, you are gravely misinformed!
Switzerland is technically not part of the EU.  And innovation in Swiss. us top notch.  Don't want to hijack this thread.  Maybe a new thread?

Last I checked Sweden was though, at least it was when I visited KnC personally two weeks ago...

lol. geography is hard. hahahaha
yeah, yeah, laugh it up.  I got Switzerland mixed up with Sweden, hardy har har!!  Tongue

Okay, BTC is at ~$68 as I write this.  I think it was just simply over inflated.  The March/April hype we saw is just now coming down.  But it's still up from it's pre-March price.  I don't see this as bad.  It'll take time for BTC to catch on.  The seeds are being planted and cultivated.  The crisis in Cyprus was a speck of dust.  Wait until the USD chickens come home to roost.  It's not over folks.  Just a bump in the road.  Imho.

OMG!  A 15 yo posing as an 18 yo!!??  Holy smokes dude.  That's big trouble!!  And the serial killer chic, whoa!!  All types online I guess.  I used to use a Catholic dating site but it's kinda hard to get laid there.  You gotta buy the farm. There was a crazy girl there too.  Told me on our 3rd date, "You'll probably meet my X someday."  I was out!  Danger Will Robinson!!   (<--you may be too young for that reference)
569  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: CoinCanary.org *** Forums Launched! *** - All Known Vendors and Status on: July 05, 2013, 03:23:33 AM

nice find, I added it to the list  Smiley

____

I am going to start moving this content to CoinCanary and generate a more concise index here for all known resources about these commercial vendors
I love how they have smiling happy customers at the bottom of the site but absolutely zero product on the market, LOL!!!!!
570  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How to get block erupter usb? on: July 05, 2013, 02:02:12 AM
They're all over ebay, and almost any online tech store that accepts bitcoin. No point of buying them though, difficulty is going to get extreme soon.
Yeah, will get ROI eventually tho. May take 5-10 years.  But then again BTC price could explode after USD crashes.  Who knows?
571  Economy / Economics / Re: Peter Schiff on Bitcoin on: July 05, 2013, 12:21:32 AM
I'm surprised Peter Schiff still has so many followers, considering there was no hyperinflation in 2012 or 2013, no 5000 or 10000$ gold that he predicted, .. Actually gold and silver both lost a lot of value compared to FIAT, so I don't see him as anything else but a paid p&d troll for hyping up gold price.

I can see that he has many devoted followers, and guys, I don't want to argue. I expressed my opinion and I think people should not listen to him, at least not believe him on his words. He is just another cult leader type of guy. ...

And his father is in prison for tax evasion strategies that do not work in reality :pp

Just to clarify... I have not listened to him in more than 1 year now. Maybe I should listen to him about bitcoin..
Remember how people were persecuted for saying the earth is round?  Well it's kind of like that.
572  Other / Off-topic / Libertarian dating sites, etc. on: July 04, 2013, 11:36:46 PM
So, I know most of us are dudes here.  But where are the (preferably HOT) Libertarian chics at?  I'm sick of dating these lost in pop culture, don't know sh*t, debt ridden, Obama votin', fast food eatin', anti-gun bit*#es.  Yeah, I can google it.  But was wandering if yal know which dating site is the best without all the BS and spam issues.

Happy 4th of July (I think?)  Not as happy as it used to be with all the anti-firework laws because of dumb a$$ people blowing their hands off, etc (my cousin did it, love him!)  All firework shows have become the very definition of America...blowing up Fed printed money in the air.  Literally!

Sincerely,

me!  (extremely sarcastic and kinda drunk)

Please laugh.....Tongue

thats exactly whats happening to Gold right now.  Nice!

Unless Gold supply is unlimited (paper Gold supply, that is). That's the big question.
All gold etf's have to have the physical to back them up.  The caveat being owners of a gold etf can never convert it directly to physical.  The physical price can go lower and at the same time the etf could dry up, loosing almost all value.  paper gold is dying a fast death. IMHO.  Never never never buy a bitcoin etf. For the record.

If I was in a government and I wanted to destroy bitcoin...

I'd figure out how to buy up all the coins with fiat and then destroy them.

M

It would be cheaper, and maybe even profitable (especially for those in the know), to create so much volatility using ETFs that it becomes difficult to use as a currency.

Doubtful. When they short sell, the price for the ETF goes down. The max that can be sold is the amount that is in the trust, 200000 BTC. If the ETF were to dump those shares on the actual market, 200000 would be sold to cover the sale, but really, that's it. They can only do it once. How many BTC are outstanding? The market would get artificially cheap coins! Done, bear out of ammo.
thats exactly whats happening to Gold right now.  Nice!

578  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Morsi to Egypt, USA has my back Im not leaving! on: July 04, 2013, 03:11:56 AM
I was in a bar once in Amsterdam (Sept '12.)  The bartender was from Egypt.  He left there a few years ago.  He left because of religious persecution.  He's Christian.  The woman he loved was Christian.  The Muslims there would not let him practice his religion and be with the woman he loved freely and openly.  He had to do it in secret until they escaped to the Netherlands together.  It's a very interesting story.  He told me he loved Bush and hates Obama.  He said, "Obama is sh*t!  Bush, I love that man.  Bush doesn't take any sh*t from Islamic extremists."  He also talked about the owner of the bar, who's Muslim, and how the owner treated him like sh*t.

I don't know what's going to happen to the people of Egypt or what direction they're going to go in.  But I do think a civil war could erupt.  I hope the U.S. stays the F*#@ out.  I'd love to talk to that bartender again to get his thoughts.  His name is Michael and he works at the Black Tiger Bar in the Red Light District.  Cool guy!  He told me he'd love to tell his story to CBS/NBC/ABC/Youtube, etc.  If anyone lives in Amsterdam, reach out to him for commentary, take a video camera.  When I was talking to him, my friend, a bleeding heart liberal said, "One man's opinion."  I doubt that.  I told my friend about the problems in Egypt a year ago.  And things are now coming to fruition.

Thoughts?
