Please give feedback! And ask questions if anything is unclear.

Is 9999 'within 10 of' 0001?

ie. do the numbers wrap around?

Numbers do wrap around.  Bitcoin transactions are checked once per minute, so it may take a minute to recognize your payment.

Goat = gigavps !

WOW

Now that is even BIGGER NEWS!

Bulanula please give us evidence to support this outrageous claim you have made that Goat and GigaVPS are one and the same!

Goat = GigaVPS's wife
Goat = GigaVPS

Therefore,

GigaVPS = GigaVPS's wife

He married himself, just like Colbert!

Wow it looks like this is already working, I found two features that could help ease the merchant/customer order process.
Looks like their are two orders I'll go and order something else from the store for the 2nd box I can't believe I forgot about returns I was so wrapped up in anonymity. I guess a solution could be to add a "Return BTC address" and/or email address in the event that something happens.

Okay, but I want the cooler box.... not that you know which order is mine.

Since you don't collect anything but name and address how are you going to refund cancelled orders?
5606  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Selling Mystery Box! on: June 12, 2012, 02:21:19 AM
ordered 1!

Me too, but it said there is only one... I wonder who gets it?
5607  Economy / Goods / Re: Gameboy micro/SP on: June 12, 2012, 02:14:56 AM
I've got wario land somewhere.  What will you give me to dig it out?
Which one? Wario land 4? Can you beat prices on - http://www.jjgames.com/product/1513 ? They take bitcoins and even give you a discount when you pay in btc.

I won't be able to check which one for at least a week.  As for price, I could probably do about 1.25 BTC plus shipping.  I'm not going to try and undercut a price from a site that doesn't actually have the game available for that price.

5610  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: June 11, 2012, 11:34:57 PM
wow, quite the reversal from yesterday's initial 1609 ramp in response to Spain.

That's paper, not real gold. When wheat falls in price, you get excited to buy it at a discount. Gold works the same way because it's physical! Paper gold does not behave the same as physical gold.

And really? A $30 gyration is going to topple an inert metal that has seen every civilization and empire in human history come and go? It wasn't even an outside reversal for short-term technical influence. You're smarter than that. Don't be dumb.

I also believe there is bad news coming out of Pascua Lama.  Again, this represents 25% of Barrick’s gold reserves and if Pascua Lama is not allowed to go commercial, it would be disastrous for Barrick’s stock price, balance sheet and contractual obligation to supply Silver Wheaton 170-200 million ounces of silver.

If Pascua Lama is unable to mine gold and silver without threatening the glaciers in both Argentina and Chile, Barrick will have to go into the futures markets and purchase silver to deliver to Silver Wheaton at its contractual price of $3.90 an ounce.

A contractual obligation to deliver 170-200 million ounces of silver at $3.90 an ounce, much of which will have to be obtained at current market prices!

Even though I have read about the real demand going on in the precious metals’ markets, I still focused on the information I was getting from typical sources that we all read from.  Harvey helped open my eyes by reinstating the REAL DEMAND going on which is not being reported by the media or by most of the alternative media.

Ironically, both Turd Ferguson and I had an EPIPHANY on the precious metals about the same time last week.  Turd mentioned in one of his posts that he was no longer going to produce charts every day in his blog entries due to the fact that the markets are so manipulated that it really doesn’t call for it much anymore.  I also reached the same conclusion but in a different way when it came to INVESTMENT DEMAND in the price discovery mechanism.

Of course I still believe investment demand is the real force driving up the price of silver, but now I think it is more due to the huge volume of physical buying by the Eastern buyers that is determining the price and not individual investors buying Silver Eagles or Canadian Maples.

This is just talking about Barrick. Other mining companies are having issues as well, and that's with current demand. And current demand can't even be measured properly because many of the largest trades are not done through public exchanges.

Can they manage that large of a loss, or will they just bankrupt?
5611  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'm terrified, I lost all my savings in mtgox. on: June 11, 2012, 11:07:09 PM
Good luck... I am still missing $10,000 and it's coming up on a month now.  There's very strong evidence that MTGox does not have much in the way of USD and those with large withdrawals deposits are actually funding the smaller withdrawals.. the large withdrawers are going to end up shafted.

5612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in India on: June 11, 2012, 10:58:55 PM
In a few years that will either no longer be true, or bitcoin will be dead.

or Bitcoin will be alive and well and simply not used for remittance from one fiat currency to another?

What will it be used for?  If it is used to buy and sell things than it won't have to touch fiat currencies.  It is still a remittance regardless of the involvement of fiat.

bit-pay.com is already doing checkouts at thousands of physical stores.
5614  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat to Bitcoins The Second Wave on: June 11, 2012, 10:23:09 PM
I read it twice and still have no idea what you're trying to accomplish with this site.
5615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in India on: June 11, 2012, 10:18:38 PM
Bitcoin sucks for remittance. Yes the tx fee from one Bitcoin address to another is super low, but you have to add the fees for exchanging fiat into bitcoins and bitcoins into fiat which add up and end up the same or more than traditional wire transfers.

A good example of this is presented in this thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=76395.0

In a few years that will either no longer be true, or bitcoin will be dead.  Exchange fees will come down as the demand for exchange comes down.  The more bitcoin accepting businesses, the sooner this can happen.
5616  Economy / Speculation / Re: 4th of July BTC Bubble? on: June 11, 2012, 09:56:05 PM
Spendbitcoins.com will get you a gift card you can use to buy beer, or you can transfer funds to paypal and buy beer anywhere with your paypal card.  I've been buying food/gas/beer/pizza/etc with BTC for quite some time now.

Me too... Hooray for Kroger cards!
5617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone tired of these 'donation signatures' on: June 11, 2012, 09:53:18 PM
Yeah honestly people begging for Btc is just annoying. No one is just going to randomly donate you bitcoins.

Thanks for the info Newbies... I must have imagined all the donations I've received for my contributions to this forum.  Oh and I never asked for them, people are just kind when you are helpful.

agreed, earn your coins!

Done that too, thanks.
5618  Economy / Speculation / Re: 4th of July BTC Bubble? on: June 11, 2012, 09:37:54 PM
There are those that believe a huge increase in demand for BTC occurs around major holidays due to SR users placing escrow orders to enjoy over the holiday.  Do you think we'll see a BTC price spike approaching the 4th of July holiday?  Discuss.

but you can't buy beer with bitcoins.
And thats should be fixed asap!

Free beer, with free as in free speech, not as in free beer?  Tongue

Nonrestricted beer?
5619  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BitForce SC - full custom ASIC on: June 11, 2012, 09:30:19 PM
L -> R or maybe R -> L

As Inaba had posted before - putting these next to each other (horizontal) is sub-optimal.

If I get a 2nd MR I am thinking of going more vertical

Considerng the delivery time for the MR's, you might want to hold out for the ASIC based products. Then again,  I wonder what will be the turnaround for those systems.
I wonder what BFL's thought process was since they knew they were developing ASIC's. I mean, why bother with these FPGA systems? Unless, there is some kind of problem we are missing.
Is it a concern that some people will want resale value? ormitigate some other kind of risk being overlooked here?

The FPGA is a cheaper and less risky way to validate their design.  Now that it is validated, they can move to custom hardware.

I'm just curious why in the world anyone would go to their investment and say, "Hey, I think you are giving me too great of a return on my money. You should stop that."

Seriously?

Because it can be good business.

Last month I lowered the interest rate I was charging on a perpetual loan.  Amongst other things, my expected payoff over the life of that client is now much higher.

Ok, I have a deal for you: Just withdraw all your capital from BTCS&T and I'll pay you 1%/week if that makes you feel better.

I pretty sure his point was that when the interest rate goes down the borrower can pay the loan off slower and thus the lender makes more money.

Translated to the pirate case, it means if he drops the interest rate he can avoid paying off some deposits early.  I've got no clue if pirateat40 is even close to needing to do this.  If he is I too would prefer a lower interest rate rather than a forced withdrawal.
