5701  Economy / Speculation / Re: Getting closer to Halving but .. no increase ? on: May 30, 2016, 10:45:46 AM
It should bounce around a bit more before the actual halving. This current rise in my opinion is a bunch of people feeling restless about the halving jumping onto a relatively small China wagon which started because of recent china currency shenanigans.

So I'll buy another $200 in a few days or a week when we see <$500 for a brief bit, then the train will resume steady uphill climb to the top of Mt. Bitcoin

 Cool

Why didn't you just buy when the price was sitting between $400-$450 for quite a while? You had enough time to start buying as many coins as possible.

I did - but more I was mining and accumulating.

 8-)

Yeah....I really like 'stodgy" Litecoin with the BTC pump in price (mining titans) currently 4.53 LTC..go baby go.....(LTC you tramp 'camp follower' you....) Smiley

5702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: A4 Dominator, the 14nm LTC ASIC/Miners, sample tested and open for pre-order on: May 30, 2016, 08:10:21 AM
Do we have an experienced group buy manager interested in contacting them? If the price is under $2000, we should be able to get 20+ units worth of interest.

Do you want to invest money from 20+ into 2 pics made in Photoshop?

Innosilicon has a very good record of actually DELIVERING - with something in the ballpark of the specs they announce for their gear when it goes up for sale.
They appear to have badly missed their INITIAL preliminary specs from last winter - but Bitfury arguably did so as well, since they were claiming .06 J/GH efficiency for THEIR chip at one point but it can only meet that claim at a VERY LOW voltage/hashrate - and Innosilicon DID claim their estimates from last winter were just that, preliminary ESTIMATES based on pre-production "tape out" chips or some such.

Had someone on here I know say he got an email saying they are not anywhere near production models yet....thus he figured FALL at the latest...of course this is not any indication
of bulk chip sales or other sales to data halls say that DON'T need a production based box unit etc like the A4 pics suggest..anyway asked him to post the email reply here...we will see
if he does that ....

If true ...it is quite common for ASIC manufacturers to miss their launch date by at least 3 months..just saying...at these LTC prices just gives some more manufacturers time
to play catch up I guess (assuming anyone is even playing these scrypt machine/chips/etc war games anymore at a home miner or base unit (A4) and not chips and/or their
own data hall in house ..that boat may have sailed....ie here are a few units and the majority is bulk chips to the china scrypt miners..ie enjoy Smiley

anyway my guess is FALL at earliest we will see one of these units for sale (A4's) gonna have to watch LTC difficulty to see if bulk chip sales or 'big boys' getting units first
ramp up the LTC difficulty per say....but I wonder how much is gonna be A4 units and how much is just gonna be bulk chip sales to china scrypt big miner farms at this point in time

again I know 'zip' just speculating...(not the email that exists) ..anyway we will see if my buddy gets around to posting innsilicon's reply on here soon ...I'll plod him again if not....

Well I have only 1 btc in lisk (with bonus etc) this comes out to 6,039 Lisk.

I'm gonna let it ride....it lives or it dies..I'd be less upset if it tanks ..then if it does OK the next few years....and I would have just dumped too soon. Sad

(crypto: it is all about protecting your 'fragile' ego ...don't ya know) Smiley

anyway good strategy or bad strategy..it IS a strategy I guess.

its not too late to take action since you can always check which way things could go. I would actually withdraw my lisk to btc and invest to some coins just to save few bucks. $100 still counts.
but its up to you still, it looks like 1 btc is just a small amount to you.

Well it is a risk/reward thing. Right now my 1 btc I got on the ICO in the 10% bonus round is worth 6,039 lisk. At the price this moment that 1 btc is equivalent to 4.716459 btc.

So hell, I may lose the 1 btc as a pump and dump but gonna let it ride.

In the USA we call this 'taking a flyer" see definition below

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/take-a-flyer

Anyway I would be 'less annoyed' on this gamble to lose this 1 BTC then if I sold out now and it had some 'legs'.

Anyway "Chump or Champ" we will see how it goes. 1 BTC IS significant...hopefully the 6,039 Lisk it represents is more so Smiley

I'm just gonna leave this here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1454507.0 - while wondering when KnC filed for bankruptcy.

I'll leave this here as well: https://blockchain.info/address/1Mpce11eUTuP9mxyDixdFbJzPrdNEJkgB4
Are you saying kfc are using okcoin (chinese exchange) to launder transfer their money from Sweden to China, maybe set up a new mining operation over there? Truly living the phrase "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em?" Cheesy

Well at one time in the past on knc forums they did say (knc) they were selling 'bulk chips' to china...so the connections probably exist.....

anyone remember this from back in the day chime in

you got it the other way round.. they may be a swedish company. but they are giving FUNDS to china.. not chips.
in short they are BUYING chips from china

Hmm...maybe you are correct....but I thought that some of the chips knc had 'were' used in china miners however the arrangement

thus the connection (again others chime in...this is what I think I remember) though come to think of it that may have just been 'hoopla'

told by KNC to build them up in the press/btc world etc...they may have been in 'talks' for such..but perhaps nothing came of it but a press release

(again if I remember correctly)

edit: Yeah it seems it was 'bulk chip' sales of 28nm chips (Jupiter's etc) as to if any 'real' significant amount went to China I remember..not sure if they really sold any..just saying I thought
they had sold a mess of them...thus the China connection via this and of course as quoted above also had their 28nm chips made in china (I assume)

http://www.financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency/news/kncminer-offers-individual-jupiter-chips-for-sale/

Anyway imho they have their 'farm' already setup to buy...probably from someone in China....with the bankruptcy...anyway would not surprise me
if they have all their ducks in a row on this..and/or their 'exchange' they are keeping (NASDAQ) would not have a piece of this pie in some manner either

(KNC: Evil it is what we do...and we do it well!) (tm knc)

if you cant mine profitable at 400-500 USD per coin, you should go out of business.

It is a farce...they are getting out of mining because they have a knc exchange now that they used to fund from mining...they can now let the big IPO $$ and investors in their
mining operations hold the bag ..as they moved on..this exchange is going gang busters from what I understand....

that exchange/endeavor was set up completely separate from kncminer as a business (funny that huh?) and I guess they are just killing it with this exchange or whatever on NASDAQ

same dance knc has done in the past

made home miners and swore would not have a data hall....in the 4 months from delivery in Sept 2013 to Jan 2014 said yeah we are gonna have a data hall

took pre-order money on neptune (btc miner) used the $$$ to fill out their data hall first and then 4 months late shipped neputunes as a result neptunes maybe got 1/3 of Roi

took big newbie IPO $$$ (same game as home miners with folk and bigger pockets) ...for cloud mining (went no place)and the big data halls with their 14nm chip they

did not release to the public

then like all knc endeavors...just when you would expect as a consumer to get more from them ...like a normal company (consumers another wave of equip) or the IPO investors (who saw the 14nm chips JUST deployed in April maybe and would expect to get again a NORMAL return on investment) er nope....

KNC pulls the plug out on all this..and has moved on to other endeavors leaving the above holding the bag.... see the exchange on NASDAQ below....SOME IPO money but mostly
in house from what I understand

http://www.kncminer.com/blog/newsarchive

So by declaring bankruptcy 'early' they leave the data hall IPO folk and etc holding the bag....they sell it say to a concern for 1/2 the price because they get 1/2 the coin after halving and walk again win/win/win....and from what I understand KNC always mined daily BTC to cash...so they bled this puppy like the cash cow it was as long as they could....I doubt the IPO investors were told this year that (from the article) $480 btc price was NOT enough to keep the mining operation going heh.....Sad

http://www.coindesk.com/kncminer-declares-bankruptcy-cites-upcoming-bitcoin-subsidy-halving/

Also notice in the article how they say they want to wrap this bankruptcy up NOW before halving ...lol so obvious others are gonna bag hold this loss in IPO $$$...

evil works (tm knc)

Then again Sam Cole WAS (is now again) a Banker...so they are like a 'medicine show' you go that was great...give them money and blamo they are out of town on to the next gig Smiley

So anyway ......they are NOT gonna suffer at all in any of this.....the majority of all the money in the failed endeavors above were consumers or IPO $$$ and now they have a fully funded exchange..they control in full ..making $$$ hand over fist with 'limited' IPO money to retain control.....

evil geniuses they are imho Sad

5709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Eth bubble is about to pop on: May 29, 2016, 10:59:51 AM
The Ethereum bubble has already popped, it has dropped from 0.033 to 0.023. It is in correction phase.

I don't hold any. Missed boat. etc etc to be clear here

But ethereum (again imho for what it is worth)  is too much fun for the speculators to play with...the wide swings in price are like 'catnip' to folks who trade and speculate on crypto......especially whales imho..who can move the market at this stage with a whim and some big buys or sells.....it will again imho bounce between 10 bucks and 15 bucks for
the foreseeable future imho....because folk that got in on the ehereum ICO ...can play the 'whale polka' with price to their advantage all nite long...again in my view.

(When the Elephants  start to polka on the dance floor it is time for the 'mice' to scatter) Smiley

anyway with the hype etc on ethereum....and a  place folk 'think' they can go an buy the 'next' btc replacement (ie btc is evil but look there is this ethereum coin...ack! FOMO so
they buy)

So it seems to me.....it may survive but right now it is getting bounced around amongst the whales like a 'party balloon' on a dance floor...will it pop or will it not ...no clue
at this point I just watch it bounce about and scratch my head. (remember I know zip at one time I drank the BFL kool aid lol ) Smiley

Yep I'm in this 'herd' of bag holders....(munching crypto grass as we speak) Smiley

1 BTC at the 10% LISK ICO buy in came out to be for me 6,039 in LISK.

(I badly badly want to revisit this thread and see it at 10 bucks a LISK ..ah rainbows and unicorns and fairy dust dreams...but you did say this was for 'reference' so wth) Smiley

Then again it is 'damn' easy to 'be a bag holder for LISK' when you are 'big spender' like me and have only ONE BTC invested (at the buy it now price of $415 when I pulled the trigger) lol Smiley

5714  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC wins Class Action against Miners. Court rules all a Business. Thus Lost. on: May 29, 2016, 09:06:50 AM
I don't know why people keep talking about an "Innosilicon data hall" or "farm" - there is ZERO evidence I have seen that they mine with the gear themselves, other than during testing.

I suspect some of their DEALERS do so (and I am 100% certain that Zoomhash does - they've mentioned THEIR farm and hosting center), but that's not INNOSILICON doing so.

Bulk sale of chips would be nothing new for them, reference the A1 and the LKetc "Dragon" designs.....

As far as companies like KNC failing to deliver units on time - it's called "breach of contract" when they SPECIFY a delivery date and fail to meet it by months or in some cases YEARS - and IS in fact legally actionable as such.
I do agree that such actions are probably not covered by most "consumer protection" laws nor are meant to be, but that doesn't mean the pre-buyers and buyers have ZERO legal grounds to sue and recover damages. Buyers are pretty much limited to recovery of any money they spent on such pre-orders and purchases that never got filled, and arguably have grounds for partial refunds for excessively late filling of orders.
"Lost income" and other such recovery causes over the actual money PAID usually requires ACTIVE INTENT to defraud on the part of the seller, which is a much higher legal bar to clear.

Yeah I have been told in the past Innsilicon has NOT had any big data halls...and that may be the case again ...just pump out A4 units and bulk sales of equip and chips etc.

So I stand corrected......

BUT times have changed.......I mean they would be the ONLY game in town....so it would be quite tempting imho for them to start a data hall now imho...they may not but

this is dang well almost 100% what other asic manufacturers would do imho. Likely folk are correct in that they don't need to being a chip mnfg of other types of 14nm chips etc.

So if we get a good price bump from the fact that NEW scrypt equip is being made.....thus the scrypt protocol is not dead and end of life with current high end knc titans
well the price bump alone on LTC could wipe out any difficulty increase and it could be a wash....
.ie 8 buck LTC with high difficulty could make the same coin vs elec costs

"IF ASIC SCRYPT MACHINES AGAIN!!!! BEING PRODUCED BY THE MASSES ARE PERCEIVED AS A VERY VERY GOOD SIGN..THIS COULD BE QUITE THE BOON FOR ALL POW SCRYPT COINS  FOR PRICE RISE OF LTC AND OTHER SCRYPT COINS IMHO"

No more Titans are the LAST POW scrypt ASIC scrypt miners for LTC and other scrypt coins..would maybe (could) put new life into all scrypt coins ....by the consumers of crypto (er maybe...could be 'wishful thinking on my part)

my Titans do now with difficulty where it is and 4 buck LTC did....QUITE well with LTC...and an  A4 Dominator purchaser imho should HOPE that is the case because at say 8 buck LTC you'd have 8 months plus maybe to ROI etc..before everyone and their brother would be trying to crank out scrypt/chips miners again.at say these 8 buck LTC prices etc.....but you would have that window of time say to ROI with your A4 ....all depends on how the price shakes out vs the difficulty rise...again could be a wash and everything could be 'golden' for the A4's to ROI even at say a 4k price and hell the KNC Titans would just plug along till they blew up from old age Sad heh Smiley IF the price rise of say LTC and scrypt coins was to go up enough to compensate for the difficulty rise of the new machines (A4's) and or bulk purchase/chip sales....again being the only game in town for new stuff...this could get 'interesting'

Crypto always the drama of WTF is going on Smiley

anyway my hope 2 Satoshi's on all this others can chime in as well....and again the above is assuming a 4k price on A4 Dominators to be clear
5715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 14nm A4 Dominator ASIC, world best 1.5W/Mhs efficiency, coming soon on: May 29, 2016, 08:58:08 AM
I'd actually prefer it be higher = fewer machines sold = less hashrate growth = longer timeframe for my existing A2 farm to make more money.

 9-)

Innsilicon from what I uderstand with the A2 Terminators ...did quite few of these but supposedly before they had NO data hall....and moved 'a lot' of bulk chip sales.

So it is the bulk chip sales I am worried about. Sad

I have KNC Titan(s) (3 of them) so if the A4 Dominator comes out at 4k say..and is 400mh and 1150 watts ...the KNC Titans are 350mh and 1250 watts I can run with

that wolf pack just fine....and considering I have ROI'd on the above (with 3rd unit more or less in 5 weeks) and back to the amount of LTC I had before 3rd unit was

gotten and hashing 1/3 more from then on ( I call that a win) anyway.......again the issues I have with these machines coming out

BAD (from my selfish point of view)

1) Competition with Titans (my 19 month some units running miners)

2) They only  have a 90 day warranty...thus most asic makers I know did not even get their asic firmware figured out correctly in more the 90 days with big pools etc....could be
an issue....kinda easy for the company to just walk with incomplete firmware etc..and 14nm chips ...could be more touchy then the Titans were/are Sad At least the Titans
you had a year to play RMA tag.

3) The 4k price may be a bit high. (IF it is that) with the amount of A4 units they pump out and/or bulk chip sales.

4) the massive bulk chip sales to Chinese miners and/or equip for such could be a real issue and blow up difficulty so the Titans go doorstops and the A4 units to us never ROI.

GOOD

1) Showing the flag with a NEW scrypt miner ...could revive all scrypt prices for coins and really pump LTC....in that it no longer looks like a 'last stand of the protocol' with just
the Titans out there as the top end machines.

2) The price could go up for LTC and all scrypt coins as a result of the above.....further making likely A4 Dominators making ROI and Titans have an even longer lifespan as a result

3) The difficulty can go up much higher say at 6 buck LTC for the A4 and Titan miners .....then if difficulty gets slam'd and we are still at the 4-4.50 range...again could wash out
to be OK for both Titan survival and A4 ROI especially say if it was to get around say 6 bucks or more...ie sure the difficulty rise was tough..but electric costs are the same the
purchase price (A4 4K) and/or postpone of end of life on the Titans are the same..because the price rise from the new equip reviving scrypt and the difficulty being negated by
such ..it could be a wash..ie A4's at the top of the heap for say 1 year plus and ROI....Titans tag'ing along till they blow up from age lol Smiley

Just my take on this at this point in time...but hell we get 7 bucks say LTC and 6months after the A4 ships in July we would have a MESS of probably bigger scrypt equipment come
out of the woodwork to blow difficulty up and the A4 and the Titans into door stop status...but it is likely if we are lucky...the A4 would have ROI'd due to the price increase
and Titans would hang on some as well..but 7 buck LTC everyone would be making asics again imho and the 'difficulty war' would be on again big time.

So anyway others can chime here but my take on this

5716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: May 29, 2016, 04:45:53 AM
A company cannot just declare someone is a business. KNC should have verified that the buyer is a business before they confirmed the order.

IIRC agreeing to be treated as a business customer was part of the Titan purchase agreement T&C.

NOT at the time I ordered my Neptune and converted it to a Titan (Feb 2015) THAT came later..I looked....they litterally just added it and tried to back
date the web pages .same when they said it was 90 day warranty and tried to back date the pages as it was origianally a scrypt miner to an ltc miner
when they had multipool issues on  first firmware...

So NO...IF my Nov 2014 unit was in the class action ..it would still be applied by the Swedish decision that I was a business despite that.....the ruling was

if you bought a miner you were automatically a business ....w/o having to agree to such ...all that the added later (not that you can tell with knc forums

down on the above controversy's in chat)

They sold it as a 'consumer home miner product' like the previous Jupiter's etc.....and only after the fact did they say it was you are  business later (cause they could)

probably because I know of ONE GUY the first one..who DID get his miner refunded under EU consumer protection law (on knc forums) due to shoddy workmanship of

the first units..then suddenly all this you are a business stuff pop'd up (or at least I remember how this worked at the time) also ONE person also on knc forums

got redress thru a Swedish consumer protection agency the same way...but others tried and knc convinced them that users were a business so that agency

stopped or was no longer able to process refunds in that manner.....they locked up this stuff pretty quick ...again how I remember it ..others from knc forum days

can chime in here

again 'we do evil well' tm knc

Any update when and where we can buy A4?

I'd expect sometime in Sept .....in that all the miners will go to the folk that are currently on the pre-order list for orders over 100k which is their current cut off I guess

tough...if a lot buy and kick up difficulty for data halls etc.....esp if in that Sept time frame it is still 4k a unit at 400mh and 1150 watts...just saying

anyway how this stuff usually works....above...is my guess

A company cannot just declare someone is a business. KNC should have verified that the buyer is a business before they confirmed the order. If not = no order.
Easy as that, everbody does it this way. Totally non-understandable court decision in my eyes.

It absolutely can and it was probably in the T&Cs. As doing it reduces liability, removes the protection of the DSRs and generally reduces consumer protection its highly likely that they would have worked this out.

or at least in Sweden with ASIC machines you can do this....from the results of the court case that is clear indeed..you mine with an asic built in Sweden you are a business...

(evil they are...nimble they are...)

and of course all the 'being cut off at the knees just when profit (ipo) or equip (miners) were to be had ...all knc's efforts have gone to this ...and as far as I know THIS IS NOT
