Is it public data how many Jupiters will be shipped in KnC November batch?

Bitcoinrama, do you know that?

I think the technical term is "lots and lots".

Most likely the final K.O. punch toward the other companies that are delayed.

What's there to hide? Some other manufacturers have public order lists with order numbers. Don't need that, just need final number of devices that will be shipped so their impact may be estimated.

One other manufacturer has their "First Batch" listed but they said they were only selling 550 at the beginning so why even make the list?

While this information would be great, it is hardly "hiding" and hardly comparable to other companies.

Cedivad,

Please do not entertain iCEBREAKER with a reply. He is the scum of this forum, a title he believes is a prestigious one. Everyone that reads this forum and has him ignored appreciates when he is not responded to and especially quoted.

Sadly this type of person is usually found on video games meant for pre-teens/teens. Due to this being "The Internet" they cannot carry on a well mannered or decent conversation.

On the other hand he has spent a lot of money with HashFast/Ice.Drill and is very desperate to keep up the charade, make believing everything is fine and that everyone else is crazy.

While pathetic and extremely funny, he also tries to "Tag Team" with other trolls on the forum despite those trolls also being inside the HashFast thread destroying it and saying the exact same thing everyone else he tries to attack ad hominem.

Now I'm sure you realize the above as quite a few others on this forum do so hopefully I am wasting my time and you have put him on ignore already.

TL;DR Put iCEBREAKER on ignore and move on.

I was thinking when colored coins go live that will create huge buzz, and along with it Active Mining being the first company embracing it. That will be big publicity and could cause a frenzy. I mean especially with the November announcement coming up and hashing to likely begin after. It could be a perfect storm.

As long as there is a decent site that can read the "Ledger" and allow for "Trades" then yes this could be a good thing. If the site looks like http://mpex.co/ then no one's going to touch it regardless of the backing of colored coin. Hopefully Ken has a designer looking into it.
let's hope Ken doesnt have a designer looking at it. we all know (Ken included) that web design is not the forte of ActM.

We have to assume he didn't/doesn't currently doesn't have a graphics designer. Probably only a coder that dabbles in design. (Let's hope this is the case :/)
This time around maybe he will plop some money in a decent web template / graphic designer. Well worth it from a credibility standpoint which is one of the most important things in the bitcoin business atmosphere currently.

Mmmmm but even if we know how many chips we will get we still have no idea of the chip performance

I agree, but at least we have information on what that "Should" be so we can speculate just a little more to reality than what has been going around Tongue

Holy hell, 1400btc at a paltry $1000/BTC gives us $1.4 million, how many wafers does all that buy us?

You should be looking at the costs for masks, with 1.4 million probably giving you at best six layers using the 22nm node. (Pretty much very little)

eASIC NRE was ~1M, the node is 28nm, the masks are paid for already. The 1.4M would go directly toward Wafers/Boards/Components

I estimate eASIC Wafer Costs to be around $12,000 to $15,000 but they could have a considerable markup on them due to them being "In Hand" and "Ready to go".

If anyone knows the size of a Nextreme Chip you can estimate how many chips per wafer fairly easily.

This bubble and bust may have scared an awful lot of people off.

I don't think those words ("bubble" and "bust") mean what you think it means.

When something is trading at an all time high, and then keeps making new all time highs, and then falls back to the price it was a few days ago (which was on the way up an all time high) then it's not a bust of a bubble.  It's a necessary price correction.

Haven't you learned by now, a few of these "investors" that frequent this thread pick up words they see others use and toss them around in their own posts.

It's hard to have a discussion in this thread because the only vocal people make everyone look like assholes when they have to be constantly corrected.

+1 Rodyland for doing this job. I haven't seen you around but welcome you to come around more often.

dunno, everything seems right on schedule to me...

A little dramatic but proves my point

BTC will always go up, it has been shown/proven
590  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 19, 2013, 10:08:34 PM
Thankfully shareholders have little to no say in the speculation of when to cash out BTC so I particularly won't be entertaining this discussion after this post. But just food for thought, BTC will always go up, it has been shown/proven, however you will never be able to guess what the price point will be in the immediate future so there's no reason to try and "Play the speculation game". As what has always been done in BTC Business, you cash out immediately when you receive the BTC OR you cash out when you need the USD after holding it. It is that simple.

Carry-on!
591  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 19, 2013, 09:33:02 PM
So if the 1.4k BTC (or a portion) are still with us then when is the best time for Ken to convert to FIAT?

We could have got 800USD last night for them, 500 this afternoon or 700 now. Tomorrow or in a few days they could be back in the 3-400 range.

Any thoughts on this.

Or next week they may be worth $2,000 each.

You cash them in when they are needed regardless of price as at that point, the new mining equipment that comes from that will make more BTC than was cashed out by far.

Speaking of which, it is the third week of November. Some groundbreaking news should be due soon.

Why use USD on a BTC payment with a BTC return?

If we could have paid for these shares in USD (Like miners purchase their gear) then I can see the USD usage but in a strictly BTC environment nope

Regarding Ken giving back our shares from Bitfunder

How will we prove the shares are ours after Bitfunders total shutdown on December the 15th? All I have is a screenshot (Photoshop anyone?) relating my Bitfunder user name and the shares I transfered to AMC-TENDER.

My public bitcoin adress is my wallet adress. Not a Coinbase web-wallet address "where I can sign in from", wich I don't even know what exactly means. Should I open a web-wallet and change my public bitcoin adress in Bitfunder for that one? wouldn't that make things worse?

I can't really see how Ken will relate wallet addresses with transfered shares, or how we can prove that after Bitfunder's shutdown, and how we will then prove those wallet addresses are ours.

Sorry if this has been discused before, but I thought it could be a balsam for many of us to shed some light on this matter instead of the constant speculation based on wishful thinking and trollist pesimism that has taken on this thread.

thank you

When Ken receives the shares, he also has a log of the Bitfunder name and Address that they were tied to.

When you go to "Claim" your shares you will likely just have to sign a message http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oxM9_OCQKM

It's a very easy process, some web wallets make it even easier to sign but honestly just follow the youtube video.

Even if you mess up for whatever reason, your shares are still attached to that wallet, dividends will go to that wallet until you do submit a signed message that is correct.

There's nothing to worry about.

I probably shouldn't be counting other people's money, but since he has been bragging about it. I feel sorry for phoneix who spent about $12K(by today's btc value) for one of his nov jupiters. No wonder he is a bit quiet lately.
17.4 btc I think the first Nov. one was... hehe...part of the game.....no biggie!

You are fine, ~650GH delivered by first week of december will make over 17.4BTC in it's lifetime most likely, that's what matters right?
Exactly.......

Hm. I still find pretty much all mining equipment heavily overprized for the fact that no asic miner company had any money of their own invested and pretty much financed all with the preorder money.
If they had used venture capital the price would be adequate, but raking in so much profit with a loss for the miners is not only morally wrong but will eventually lead to alternative approaches to the mining equipment production problem. They only damage their own consumer base with that...

Let's look at it this way,

Current Jupiter's are making roughly $2,000/Week at current BTC prices. What does this value the machine at? Most likely more than $8,000 which is greater than it's original value. BTC is going up so the machines worth in USD will continue to hover around the purchase price.

In 6 month from now if BTC price continues to escalate at the same rate as difficulty or great, you will have close to the BTC you could have purchased at the time AND a machine that has value. That's how I see it, the machine will always maintain some sort of value as long as BTC/USD price increases. Plus it's much more fun to mine than hold coin Wink

Mostly because I maintain it, and most stuff posted there shows up here first.  Smiley  But there are some people who don't follow Bitcoin[st]Troll[/st]Talk, so I post important stuff there...

grnbrg.

PS:  $580 - $650, depending on the exchange.  WTFBBQ....  Are we gonna crash again?

BTCChina Fees:
2. Fees
Most Bitcoin trading platforms worldwide charge a percentage fee in trading commission, however BTC China has announced to offer zero transaction fee since September 24, 2013 to provide a better experience for our users.

Huge Volume on that Exchange - China pushing BTC hard

We'll see $1,000 before the end of the year, possibly even more.

Coinbase already sold out of it's daily BTC today (Not even Noon yet and they have a fairly large supply to sell out)

Wizkid057 is a lovely helpful fellow also.
Despite my egregious error, Eligius still is the better pool and offers public access to mining stats for individual miners.

Eligius pool run by Luke-jr
False, it is run by wizkid057. Luke helps and hangs out in the Eligius IRC channel.

Agreed, just some have differences with Luke-Jr and I'd hate that to effect Eligius as a choice.

What we will see soon if not already is a significant positive-loop feedback effect. As BTC goes higher the more online sales we get and the more FIAT we have to pump back into chip production. Then we will have more machines being produced to fill the orders/more orders come in as BTC rises etc etc etc.

You do understand as the price goes up, we have more reason to mine for ourselves than sell equipment at the $100/BTC equipment price points currently on the website?

A 25TH Unit (Base Unit + Full Expansion Case) would bring in ~265BTC in December Alone.
The cost of one of these is ~$140k (26BTC Profit for whoever buys it now, IF shipped by december 1st)

The price of BTC is only going up, I'd be surprised if it didn't pass $1,000 by the end of the year considering China's push and http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-11-18/u-s-agencies-to-say-bitcoins-offer-legitimate-benefits.html

Again with Coinbase's 500 Coin Daily Sell Limit getting this changed into fiat for spending on more equipment would be a simple and painless process.

Either way though it is exciting.

Edit: Should do the AM Strategy and only sell what we can't put online ourselves, in stock, at price points that reflect the immediate market value.
Hell the only reason AM *Sold* equipment was because they would have taken too much of the network at the beginning, they needed to spread it out as to not cause a panic. I doubt this issue will happen with ActM considering the amount of hashrate currently out there but I wouldn't mind a problem like that Tongue
