Team ION initially announced an internal target to release a beta of Gravity by the end of June. At the time it seemed like an aggressive target, but one we thought we could meet. Since we’re developing a new business model — one which requires linking the ION economy to the game — we’ve had to proceed with care for the wellbeing of the coin, the game, and the business. There are several reasons that the game won’t be ready for a beta release by June 30th. The best of these reasons is security.
Our first game has to be secure. It has to prove our business model. And it has to be fun.
Until recently, we haven’t been satisfied with the security of the API. (We think we’ve just turned a corner on security, by the way!) We simply can’t release a game with an API that can be hacked. There’s too much at stake. The entire ionomy is at risk if we put out an API with holes. (We will not go down the road of the DAO.)
The team has also spent more time to make the game complex — and, really, more fun — than we had initially planned. We know that our first game doesn’t have to be perfect. It doesn’t have to be a homerun. But it can’t be a miss.
To get it all done, and done right, we’ve hired an additional gaming developer to accelerate Gravity to beta. The Gravity game API is almost complete. We will release our games as soon as they are secure and complete.
Security is our top priority. Fun is a close second.
We know we got your hopes up about the game and that some of you will be disappointed. We understand. We wish Gravity were ready for release, too.
We have heard that you want to be kept up-to-date about our progress. We agree that you deserve to have realistic expectations about ionomy. To maintain the flow of information, ionomy has also committed to stepping up our communications. You’ll be hearing from us.
As you know, we’ve been a little quieter lately, mainly because we’re focused on building a game. But we’re not just building a multi-platform mobile game.

Do you really think somebody would use their same name, put hours and hours of work into another coin development project that (btw: has amazing potential) to do the same thing that XPY did to a lot of people in the crypto space ?
If you want to find a bunch of gullible people then why not target the idiots who held onto xpy for so long. Convince them to hand over their xpy and flog it on the open market and pocket the cash. So yes, think they would. I hope MrCoins has been ripped of cos he's a great example of a gawtard. If the people behind ION are as culpable of a scam as much as you deem them to be..these people would be in jail

Honestly, a lot of us got screwed with the GAW scam. I know it's tempting to say this is just the same thing. But please just read the whitepaper, then each of the things on your list can be discussed individually as to what is right/wrong with them.
I don't know if MrCoins is a shrill or a troll. There is no way anybody could loose 300 btc in paycoin and then say this coin isn't a scam. I have a feeling he's just doing this cos he likes the attention. Anyways, can't be bothered, think it's fairly obvious to everyone that this is a scam. Only people that disagree are the newbie accounts. Possibly newbies might have an interest in Ionomy lols. |

However, I am not the only one who quit over $ 12 because we "SCREAMED" "WARNING!!! SCAM!!!". I think the main difference is, MrCoins believed and trusted into this (you could discuss here about inteligence, but it is not scamming), not sure if he got out over $10, I am somehow sure he did not, MrCoins, did you?

OP says dev is not related to xpy. Hmm, maybe not dev but surely someone behind this coin must be.
Why would you offer to exchange 8 xpy for 1 ion?
Why didn't all the xpy you receive not get burnt?
Why did lots of xpy get dumped on the exchange immediately after your offer was taken up?
Why are people who were left holding paycoin stupid enough to exchange it for ION anyway. Do they really think ION is going to be 20 cents. Maybe you should say you are going to have a 20 cent floor?

Bitpop is right, XPY was an obvious scam whereas BTC may crash or may carry on. I don't know for sure but I believe it will at soon point.

This is in response to what someone asked me on the forum where this information was being discussed. If I was tweeting / promoting / pushing i'd understand... But, i'm not. Like I said, I have to be careful as I am a target for "set up" questions.

I have not recommended anyone buy anything. If someone asks me how to change their XPY now they missed the swap, what is the answer? I have not given any recommendations.
I guess I have to be careful not to get "set up" with a question, it's something i've not been looking out for.

Yes, some people didn't swap and were left with XPY. Some were thinking to hold in case the price went up. In my opinion, I didn't see any reason for price to increase and still do not. In fact, i'm surprised XPY is priced as high as it is now.
Some were considering to hold on the basis that less XPY would mean the price would go up. I tried to explain how the reduced coin count did not in any way mean the price would go up. Unfortunately, it is difficult to help without it being considered advice by some. I try to remember to add "in my opinion" each time. It's a conundrum.
This is my problem, fair enough say sell XPY, but by saying buy ION you are encouraging people to jump out of the fat and into the fire. You are in effect shrilling for ION, exactly what you did for XPY. In fact you shrilled so much for XPY we thought you were being paid by JG. I don't think you were for the record, just incredibly naive. But you seem to be doing the same for ION. I think you made an assumptive statement like "When the value of ION goes up". If you don't want to be called a shrill then don't shrill. If you do then you will have egg on your face when ION fails. That is when and not if. |

I am not providing any investment advice here, but yes, I swapped my XPY (not sold, it was virtually worthless and not worth selling). I still had every single XPY as from the very start. It was very therapeutic to finally get rid of them.

On talkxpy you said you had sold all your xpy and bought ION. You do realize that the value of ION is no way near 2 million that you have bought in at 20 cents? All the devs have done have done is copy an existing clone and made a pretty website. You can see that right? |

XPY is being burned
I have to say I was wrong about xpy not being burnt, I expected that the ionomy devs were just attracting xpy in there 8 for 1 offer and then dumping these on the market.
But then when I look at the market there is only about 1BTC available for bids. The market has completely dried up. There are still a few idiots buying 10 or 20 dollars at a time but that's it.
So I reckon the devs have sold what they can and are sat on a pile of xpy that they can't sell. I guess they decided to burn what's left so they can appear to have burnt everything they got and appear true to their word.
There is no audit for this process so looks like the muggles have been had over again.
