581  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how often do you check BTC price and how to cope with stress? on: June 02, 2018, 05:15:41 PM
I check many times throughout the day, slightly addicted to blockfolio as I have a few altcoins and you can't really leave them for a month as they can change overnight, but I do think I check far too often perhaps I have developed an addiction to blockfolio just scrolling up and down.

Checking the price doesn't make anything to you. But coping with stress is important to take correct decissions when trading bitcoin or other altcoins. This is called self control when you cope with high stress.
Yes. It is not actually about the price checking, as I check price everyday so as not to miss the huge fluctuation for some of the coins I may be holding or to make some good market decisions. I usually buy markets at dip anyway when everyone is scared and already sold out and it simply looks like no one ready to sell anymore and as a long term trader, I already know when I should be stopping loss which most of the time, they hardly hit.

As long as you know how to limit the risk, you should always be fine, but lack of knowledge about the market, what some people really want from the market and so on, are some of the things that makes them base emotion when checking prices.
582  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't hold your coin on exchange for long time. on: June 02, 2018, 03:43:12 PM
agreed that's why i would say decentralized exchanges are future
Yeah, decentralized exchanges are definitely the future, but the thing is that we are not even there yet, because even decentralized exchanges as it is are still susceptible to hacks at least from what we have seen over the years with the likes of EtherDelta.

Yes, there would be a lot of improvement in the long run, but we are simply not there yet. For now, the best way is to just only make use of your wallets and unless you are really looking forward to make some trades, it is better to always leave only what you want to trade with on an exchange.
583  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Digital Currency Take Over on: June 01, 2018, 05:09:16 PM
Well digital currency has certainly caught the attention of the mass but there are these certain factors that prevent it from flourishing around the world. The number 1 reason is that there are certain countries that are against digital currency, and you are right about how the government is threatened because of the fact that it doesnt require tax. Another reason is that not all of the people have access to the internet, some are computer illiterate and dont know how to maneuver their way in using digital currency
Yeah, it has and it will keep catching even more investors’ attention the more in the long run. This is a space that is evolving and even though we still have more to get to the level of mass adoption, we are not where we used to be and with things going the way they have been going thus far, I so much believe in the future and the rate at which we are going to be experiencing huge growth. Still, I do not believe we will be taking over fiat in anyway but there would be a harmonious existence with the two.
584  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think the whales are manipulating the markets on: May 13, 2018, 07:20:29 PM
Hi guys ,
Do you think the whales are manipulating the markets ?? Has any one noticed that the current bull run that has been on for the last few weeks comes to a halt every time it reaches the 10 k mark and slides down . My theory is that whales sell at 10k and then create fud so market slides down only to buy back and pump . What do you think ?
One thing we obviously cannot rule out. Yes, the whales manipulate the market. We cannot always believe it, but there are two sides to trading. Those who control the market and those who follow the trend and then investors are just there looking forward to the long term. Let me break it down a little. Traders make use of technical analysis to make a trade, whales implement those analyses for traders to see and then make decision on that.

Now, as a whale in a particular market, I will definitely know how to place these emotions in the market to spike some sell off or a buy in as the case may be, so I believe whales are really the main cause of market movement even though there may still be some other factors still being used by them.
585  Economy / Economics / Re: A cryptocurrency with volatility can't be used as money on: May 13, 2018, 05:39:41 PM
in fact I'm not too familiar with your question, man! we all know that the bitcoin value is designed to fluctuate, if you buy goods with bitcoin and at any time the bitcoin price goes down, the goods purchased with the bitcoin will not go down. simple, the price of the goods or the fiat does not depend on the bitcoin price itself.
Apparently, and I am not sure where he must have gotten that news from or that logic from. I can bet there is no news except something he just decided to form in his head which is totally unreasonable.

You buy something worth of $10 equivalent of bitcoin, this purchase has been made and if bitcoin value reduces, you will even end up having more bitcoin if you are to sell that stuff back at that $10 rate which makes the whole sense of the value of what you have purchased reducing with bitcoin value. The only person who is going to be at risk here is the person who sold the stuff when considering the short term fluctuation to the downside.
586  Other / Archival / Re: Ripple still Alive even their appeal gets denied from New York court on: May 13, 2018, 04:27:07 PM
Ripple is alive and still good position even a online news publish on 19 March 2018
A San Francisco court has denied Ripple’s request to appeal the order which denied its lawsuit against R3.
News was fake ?

Claim was that  Ripple had backed out of a previous agreement that allowed R3 to purchase up to 5 billion XRP coins at $0.0085 each before the end of 2019.

Check news link :
https://ibsintelligence.com/ibs-journal/ibs-news/new-york-court-to-have-final-decision-over-ripple-r3-dispute-after-ripples-appealing-gets-denied/

I doubt the truth of this news, if this news is true then R3 have a big chance to win the dispute and very unfortunate if 5% of max supply XRP will fall to R3 moreover 5 billion XRP will be purchased cheaply
It is not even about what we think, fake or not, ripple is a coin that sucks and it is something that is highly possible for them to achieve. Firstly, it is centralized and the devs are holding most part of it, and who on earth really want to be holding such.

Secondly, even though it is classified as the banker’s coin, I really do not see its importance when the banks are really not seeing it as something they would even want to make use of. As far as I am concerned, Ripple is a scam and it is just about time before we started seeing it being pushed to where it actually belongs.
587  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I don't care about the price now. Nobody knows how much my portfolio is worth on: May 13, 2018, 03:11:49 PM
That's also a good decisions by not looking the price for the meantime. Everytime I looked into the price I had the attempt to sell, but the market these days are not good. I just hold mine for the reason's price may climb at any moment.

With the existing capital, I think select a coin with a low price (like Doge) because you will get more coins and if there is a price increase that is not too high you can sell it and you will get a big profit.
Are you serious right now ?
Doge is good for short term trading and even though it has been in existence, I do not see how someone will be holding for long term anyway.

Surprisingly, even with the history of doge though, it is funny that the support for it is still very huge but like I said, for me, it is strictly for trading and tipping most of the time and nothing so special. There are several other coins and tokens that one can invest in for potential increase in value for the future.
588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fair online casino? on: May 13, 2018, 02:27:36 PM
It should allow users to withdraw instantly till now i haven't found any dedicated casino site which allows users to withdraw instantly
It should have a probably fair system which many casino sites lack till now , it should have a live chat which has the power to take action as nowadays they just tell to send a support ticket as they can't solve our issue
To be honest, I am against new gamblers because I don’t support gambling even a bit. Hence I never want OP to get into these gambling world as it will become his one of life's biggest struggle after some point of time.

Moreover, what you have mentioned is never going to happen whatever you have wished for. If casinos will start operating according to your standard, I am afraid they might fail in making good revenue. There is nothing like ‘care for others’ in business world. Gambling sites are also making money for only themselves.
589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you still continue? on: May 13, 2018, 07:56:27 AM
Better to stop or better quit gambling for good. That is definitely one big lesson for me. My life will be more misserable if I continue because I am not really sure if I will be lucky the next time I gamble. To make that money grow again, I turn into something profitable of in a thing which I am good at and does not depend on any luck.
Most gamblers to continue their gambling just for the reason of finding their lucky moment. They need to continue in order to hit at least for the next attempt. No gambler is is ready to realize that how miserable their life will be if they continue for the reason of searching their lucky moment. It is nice that you have understood these facts.

To make that money grow again, I turn into something profitable of in a thing which I am good at and does not depend on any luck.
Your understanding about gambling must include that gambling is not for making your money grow. Even you have entered into gambling for this reason, you must not continue after realizing this fact.
590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Effects of Gambling on: May 13, 2018, 05:36:34 AM
for the life of me gambling more give negative effects than the positive ones so from that I started to try to stop even if it's difficult, because I lost a lot of money gambling and almost lost my job, too, but if it is for you to give a positive effect is up to you because it is completely your right.
Sorry to hear but it will be useful for this community if you share how gambling impacted up to your job. Take time to help this community with your real experience so that some people will learn a lesson from your incidents. I am recommending this because for that reason alone this forum exists and we are sharing our views and opinion here.

Almost all the gamblers are experiencing more negative impact compared to the positive ones. But, you need to understand what is negative and what is positive from gambling. If you target easy money then definitely you will experience only negative effects of gambling. If you want good time-pass then gambling will give you lots of positive energy.
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Mental Responses That Will Make You Lose Money on: May 13, 2018, 04:58:42 AM
I believe a better explanation to this is summed up in what you give you receive. The universe only gives you what you think, so if you go to a casino and think oh well I'm gonna loose but let's try chances are you'll loose. However if you go in with this affirmation today I'll win and I'm in the winning league then you see it'll happen. Give out positive affirmations and it'll work like a charm.
That is the main mentality that makes a lot of people always end up losing big and not just losing big but getting addicted. I understand that you need to apply the law of attraction if you are really looking forward to win, but if you apply just that, then you are going to be heading yourself for destruction.

It is always important to always apply the law of reality as well, knowing that the chances of losing is still high irrespective of how much you really wish you win as this would help you keep your mental and emotional check balance.
592  Economy / Economics / Re: Porsche introduces blockchain to cars on: May 12, 2018, 07:24:10 PM
Here's the official press release: https://presse.porsche.de/prod/presse_pag/PressResources.nsf/Content?ReadForm&languageversionid=833328

I think this is the type of news that tends to shut up crypto deniers. If the auto industry starts using blockchain tech, it's going to be huge. What do you guys think?
im a big fan of Prosche so im so happy to read and hear about they blockchain technology where they introduce their cars in cryptocurrency earners i think we should follow this campaign for us to have and own a car. maybe we should make a group for this so we can talk about this platform. goodluck for us. im looking forward to this
What are you even saying ? You sounded more like someone who is lost or totally delusional and I can bet you did not even read the press release. Not surprised though! Introducing blockchain technology or making use of it does not have anything to do with campaign. Looking at your post history, I urge you to at least once in a while; stop embarrassing yourself in a public forum. That is by the way! This is a brilliant one for this auto industry and if so many other bigger companies can keep taking steps like this, it would mean a lot for the future of blockchain technology.
593  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the most influential factor that triggers bitcoin prices to fall down? on: May 12, 2018, 04:44:25 PM
Bitcoin is very volatile. It goes up and down at no time. But I started to think what causes its values to go down. These past few days, its prices are notably lower that last year's values. Last year, I believe, during the first few months, its prices are likewise low. Do bitcoin prices go down every January to February? Does it have a logical association?

I think the main issue that can bring bitcoin price down is negative news about regulation. Many times negatives news about bitcoin regulation and all that news is not true or false news. Negative news bring people become panic and they selling their bitcoin and that causing bitcoin price drop

There are many factors can be the reason why the bitcoinprice fall down. I think one of the biggest reason could be the bad news regarding bitcoin like, bitcoin scams, bitcoin scammers, bitcoin thieves and so on. I guess these things contributed a lot to the bitcoin price fall down
Scammers, thieves, blah blah, are just tiny pieces that we only try to console ourselves with to relate it to the movement in bitcoin's price downward. I feel all these things are basically not the main cause and we are practically just at the beck and call of whales and how they want the market to be perceived.

Unfortunately, bad news are used more like the poison to make people feel that is what drives it down, but to me, I feel it is just pure manipulation. I guess we only have to take it or leave it and that sucks since bitcoin has now turned to more of a speculative asset.
594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lets be careful on what we are investing on: May 11, 2018, 06:47:05 PM
People should be scared of shitcoins. That's the painful truth! There's so many crypto scams out there that it can be compared to walking on a minefield. However This would been always part of the risk since we do know ICO investment do really have the tendency on getting failed or scammed along the way.
At this day and age, with a lot of information on the web about several coins, I really do not even expect anyone to be dealing in shitcoin as it is. The importance of doing some proper research on any coin one wants to be holding for long should not be discarded. This is highly important and anyone who does not want to be a victim of screwing up in their investment big time will have to always take note of the team, product and how the product can be perceived in the long term as well as the possibilities of some limitations.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IPL( Indian Premier League) Prediction Thread, 2018. on: May 10, 2018, 07:40:22 PM
Even though Delhi Daredevils scored pretty good, but at the end, it seemed like that total was nothing for SRH.
That is the reason they still on top of the table and most probable favorite to become this year's champion. So far SRH's bowling unit has performed well like defended very low scores also many times. But with today's match they proved with their batting depth. Kane Williams once again showed his class in Indian pitches, his marvelous form continues whereas Shikar Dawan started this year IPL with little bit hiccups due to injury reasons. Still, he too found his form with this match as these duo found home with their unbeaten partnership by easy handling of usual pressure of chasing a decent score.

Before SRH's successful chase, I got miscalculations about result of this match due to Rishap pant's cameo century. He hit India's highest IPL score still his team was not able to defend the score to harvest his one man show and efforts.
596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Shyness in gambling on: May 10, 2018, 07:03:40 PM
There is a huge difference between shyness that a person feels when he first enters in a casino and the one he feels when he enters in some more respected game or place. Let me clarify a bit more, for a newbie gambler It Is more like, “oh, I should not be here” or “this is so embarrassing”, basically a feel of guilty and shame while let’s say, a new football player may fear his first entry into the filed but he will be satisfied.
In the real sense, these are basically two different things and anyone who is having that kind of mindset like 'oh I should not be here' should not even be there in the first place. I do not see anything that should really result into being shy when it comes to gambling for real since where you are, only other gamblers are present and the only reason you can feel shy in any situation is when you feel odd and I do not see how that can ever be applicable for someone who used their own legs to walk into a casino.
597  Economy / Economics / Re: Money laundering tools on: May 10, 2018, 06:01:45 PM
this is the one reason why bad guys use bitcoin, they want to use this as tools that money laundring, or maybe they can use this to makes inflation in a country, we hope that its not happen because if its happen i think bitcoin will banned by some country in the world
Does that mean bad guys have not existed before now? Bitcoin is a payment tool; same as USD, gold, diamond, name them !
These are tools basically any criminal can use and have been using even before bitcoin became rampant in terms of usage.

There is actually no reasonable basis on how a lot of people just keep coming with the idea of bitcoin is a problem since it is going to be used for criminal activities like those activities were not even there in the first place. They should grow up and think of other better ways they can curb those activities than pushing the blames on bitcoin.
598  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC at its previous resistant. What will happen ? on: May 09, 2018, 07:05:23 PM
This is a silly question..

I don't think it was just a silly question. I just wanted to know your idea and opinion. Because weekly chart is not a shorter time frame ( of course it is not a strong higher time frame too) and if you take a closer look at it you will see some sort of resistant is creating at that level ( where there is a previous resistant level ). So I just wanted to know your idea as most of you here are senior than me  Smiley
The problem you are not seeing here is that you are asking something no one can know. However, the major resistance was towards $10k which we could not even smash through and we ended up having a reversal from there as well as a bearish divergence on the shorter time frame. Usually this type of movement is considered as 'gaining power phase' to break the big resistance levels.

I wonder if you missed that because as at the time which you dropped this post, we were way past that resistance already and trying to find a support, so the question you are asking is not sounding relevant in a way.
599  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Massive loss 40% underwater on: May 09, 2018, 06:14:44 PM
Got in at the height of Jan this year and all holdings lost more than half from the previous peak.

Very frustrated and was afraid that crypto will be zeroed out, so sold at massive loss more than 50%+ realized loss

After sold last week, all coins came back up 10-20%, even more frustrated, what to do?
This is very frustrating indeed because like you, I also invested my money at around January when the price of bitcoin is around $14k at that moment but I used it for trading. Now my money that I invested at that time is now gone but I don't feel any regret or anything right now because I can afford that money to lose.

The only thing you can do now is to move on since you have done a major mistake that makes your capital cut down into half. Just move on with it, invest again and take time to do some research. Maybe I suggest you need to buy long term coins and don't move it anywhere. Hold it for 1-2 years I think. If you are trader then you can trade some of your money so that you can gain some profit faster than holding.
Well, good for you that you could afford to lose it but the thing as well is to always play it safe, because the fact that you could afford to lose it does not mean you could not have played your card intelligently.

However, moving on or starting all over again without repeating the same mistake is all that counts. Like they always say, it is only a big fool that will keep repeating the same thing and then keep expecting to see different result. Normally, I always tell people that when what you are doing is not working out fine, then, do the opposite.
600  Economy / Economics / Re: Prices will some day fluctuate less? on: May 09, 2018, 05:44:13 PM
Do you think that someday the prices for Bitcoin will fluctuate less and ppl will be able to use more as a currency, and not only as a form of investment?

It already happened, the price of bitcoins has sky rocket to $19k dollar and now it was down to $10k so we can say that bitcoin price is really profitable if you are going to hold your coins and wait for it price to grow before selling it again.
Profitable is totally different from fluctuation bro. I don’t understand if some of you find it hard to comprehend though.
The price of bitcoin rising from $10k to $19k within a very short period is one of the high level of fluctuation we are talking about which resulted to a huge drop in value which we are still basically trying to recover from now.

The only time we can get to see less fluctuation is when we start having real demand. Virtually, most of the people demanding for bitcoin now just want to get rich, not because they see the currency value in it and that sucks.
