Hi guys ,
Do you think the whales are manipulating the markets ?? Has any one noticed that the current bull run that has been on for the last few weeks comes to a halt every time it reaches the 10 k mark and slides down . My theory is that whales sell at 10k and then create fud so market slides down only to buy back and pump . What do you think ?

While i think that there is a high probability of whales manipulating the market, because (1) they have the power to do so and (2) it makes them even richer, i don't think each small pump or dump is related to them.

I can't imagine those 'whales' do have nothing better to do than manipulating the market 24/7.
There may be coordinated pumps or dump (which can be achieved with a relatively small amount of money in this market), but not every price movement is because of whales.
Shitty news, FUD, trust does play a big role too.

Whales, Traders and governments controls the markets, and deploy differing tactics in able to move the markets, some even such as fake news, it is all happening right now. I am sure Whales have more to do that sit on a trading platform all day but they probably have some fun there, sometimes...

Absolutely I agree. When the prices go up, the whales are attracting huge amounts of money from the market. For this reason, prices are experiencing incredible declines. Novice investors are doing great damage.
If you have invested, do not leave it alone. Some of you are awake when you sleep.

Probably you are correct that whales are selling at 10k mark, but if you think about it, everybody is thinking the same. Everybody is waiting for the highest peak for now to sell then buy at the lowest price, it is the fastest way to earn a fortune in bitcoin. But to think that whales are manipulating it every time is a no for me. Whales are whales because they have money, they have other businesses to take care of too and they don't have the time to watch the market most of the time. We the people are manipulating the market no just the whales.

They are doing it since forever. If you believe in bitcoin what you and everybody else who believes too should do is to wait a few years because there has been voices ,just speculation that bitcoin price will be stable at 40.000 dollars in 2019 to 2020.

It is worth waiting a few years to get a considerable amount of money from your investment. This is also a very good time to buy bitcoin so do it if you can.

Yes big whales also manipulate the market but only to some extent and they don't have full control over the market.Otherwise by this time,bitcoin would had been just a pump and dump coin like altcoin.

 The Crypto market is of late operating under lots of influence, its unfortunate that it no longer seems to operate on a legitimate  market forces of demand and supply to determine the value and prices, Yes there seem to be an external forces influencing the Bitcoin prices, A factor that is not only unfair but also unfortunate as there are a number of people out there that are banking on the freedom and independence of Bitcoin yet its currently under external influence.

Many whales manipulates the market, some actually try to do it and think they can manipulate though they are themselves manipulated. But for long term  prices not daily ones I don't think there is big manipulation.

Whales has acquired a huge amount of bitcoin that if they decided to hold it, it might contribute a lot in market prices. If a single individual decided to hold huge amount of product, the supply would decrease but the question would be if demand would increase.

Whales selling at 10,000$ can create the price to decrease as well as create FUD, I don't think that all whales are the ones who are creating and starting FUD as their money alone can influence the market's movement. I also think that whales don't have the complete control on Bitcoin's movement. Why? If they are they would't be stuck on 100-300$  price changes in a day, yes they can create money with this little changes but I don't think they are also participating because if they do it wouldn't be as small as 100-300$ changes in a day, not unless they are buying and selling at small amounts multiple times.

The answer to your question is sometimes, whales are not the only reason why the price of Bitcoin is moving they are just the ones who can make big pumps and dumps happen. When you are observing your trading platform on occasion you will see some Bid Walls being broke down and Ask walls being bought up quickly, this is due some whale actions doing in that exchanges. They can quickly pierce to buy and sell walls at ease, but the problem I am seeing is we cannot accurately know what the whales are exactly doing or what is there next move. We only have our charts and trading platforms to see if there are some big changes happening which we can link to whales.

For every market, there are hidden 'market movers' that control the pricing and market flow at their own will. Bitcoin is no exception, given that exchanges aren't highly regulated and you can create as many accounts as you like provided that you pass the verification on the exchange. These whales are responsible for several market movements that happen 'all of a sudden' such as sudden rise or huge fake crashes. They are around and lingering, and also controlling the markets with their stringed toys.

Many people beleive this is true. In general people like conspiracy theories and beleive in them.
I think this is not completely untrue  but on the other side the influence of whales is not that big and they can't manipulate the market in the way that they completely control the price.
I think they can intiate some movements in.coordinate activities but I still beleive that Bitcoin remains independent.
