Hopefully this will be the end of pessimistic speculations, used for scaremongering
what will be the end? the price did not raise did it? in my opinion there always were and will be pessimists For all of you that wish that bitcoin is dead, Bitcoin is going to disappear or Bitcoin Futures Will Be The Death Of Bitcoin I have a great source of information, check out this site, and see how many times in the past bitcoin was dead: http://bitcoinobituaries.com/After reading this you may want to stop grumbling. So Bitcoin has been dead since 2010, yet it's valued at £162.00 with more companies and government accepting it? Definition: Deadno longer current or prevalent, as in effect, significance, or practice; obsolete: a dead law; a dead controversy. From what I can gather, Bitcoin is very much current.

Bitcoin is being adopted by new companies everyday. This means the currency will consistently continue to strength, as more users begin to hold it. I haven't heard of security breaches from organisations such as blockchain.info or coinbase, which means any security breach to a Bitcoin startup must be a human error. Small developers like me, are trying to get into the market as soon as possible because we understand that this a needed service, which will revolutionise financial systems and technologies.
Any pessimistic views you hear about Bitcoin, is ultimately to deter you from using this new financial systems, which will ultimately force bankers to CHANGE (though I doubt they would be necessary anyways) the UK government has already adopted Bitcoin, after seen its potentials, and hopefully others will follow suit.

So this is the price users have to pay for using their "regulated" exchange/wallet? Welcome to the "paypal" of bitcoin It's either this for them, or become the next BurtW

i have about 50$ , is it enough to pump your coin ? On a serious note, u realise you just killed your coin with this topic ?
I have lost all hopes on all altcoins. Most of these people create bullshitCoins as a get rich/quick scheme to deliberately and to purposefully scam others wealth.

Looking at the code I'll do it 10% less, compared to whatever each of them are offering you.

I just don't see how the two are at all compatible. Banks exist for one reason: to control the money supply so they can tip the balance in favor the shareholders and owners. Bitcoin is neutral. You cannot manipulate it to enrich the few at the expense of everyone. If anything banks will see bitcoin as a threat and will launch a campaign that made the chinese fud last year look like a birthday party. Banks are the enemy.
Banks will evolve. They may not even be called banks any more. But they provide a market for credit and will be around in one form or the other, even if Bitcoin succeeds. Our entire existence has been about evolving and the banks will have to follow if they want to remain useful. Yeah I agree, the banking infrastructure is huge and they could use it to sustain bitcoin operations and forms of storage, instead of endlessly fighting it or remaining neutral at best. Hopefully banks in the UK would start this trend off, since the government is actively supporting a regulated Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as part of the wider economy

Satoshi will return once again on the 15th.
We will then march to the central bank of each country, and run a full Bitcoin node.
|
|
|
If I got back in early 2009, I would tell Satoshi how amazing he is, sell of my property and give the money to him, get his phone number, then like anyone else, I would buy and mine as many bitcoins as I can then finally in 2014 I would call-up Satoshi and give him 50% of my investment in his technology.

What they are basically saying is that viruses can use the Bitcoin blockchain to communicate with their authors. So for example the virus author could put code into the blockchain and the infected computers would all get that code from the blockchain and run it. This is a concern to kaspersky because normally the viruses would connect to a server, called a command and control server, to receive new instructions from the virus' author and send back stolen data etc. So all law enforcement would have to do is shut down the command and control server and they can cut the virus authors access to the infected computers. However, if the virus was using a blockchain, there would be no central point of failure and cutting the authors access would be non-trivial. Other security researchers also had concerns about the website pastebin.com for similar reasons, that it could be used for botnet communication: http://blog.spywareguide.com/2009/06/pastebin-botnets.htmlMost people are going to read this article and take it to mean that computers can be infected via the blockchain. This is not true. What they are talking about is using the blockchain as a way for hackers to send instructions to infected computers. "Other security researchers also had concerns about the website pastebin.com" I've used pastebin to communicate between personal computers, but I don't think it would be a good example because in most case the program would be depending on one link for instructions, if it's removed then the program is vitally dead. My main question, was why didn't they exploit the bug (using the blockchain) when they found it, until you explained it. From my understanding the only solution, since you cannot restrict the type or format of data included in the blockchain, would be to update their antivirus to monitor the behaviours of local programs which listen for data included on the blockchain, then proceed to quarantining these programs. So the problem is not that there's a code which can harm the Bitcoin ecosystem, but virus owners could utilise the blockchain to communicate with their Trojan horses...

English: I couldn't believe my ears when I heard this story. In this day and age, were the U.S. government has economic and military power over any country, could you imagine they would leave their citizens in foreign country to fend for themselves or request help from other counties such as Russia (who were more than welcomed to help them, and their own citizens) personally I think this news describes how much the government values their own citizens, in and out of the country. They did it to themselves.
I couldn't agree more. It's unbelievable to imagine how much some of the members were getting paid, considering this was a non-profit foundation.

I have no idea why anyone would do this, but I guess people just have faith in humanity. Personally I have never seen anyone take this risk.
