Great to here that we, as a community, helped out.

Congrats!
582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9 MILLION WORTH OF BITCOIN TO GO UNDER THE HAMMER | DailySatoshi.com on: November 11, 2014, 07:48:23 PM
Is it just me or does the article give you brain damage?

Pretty badly written.

But those probably aren't "his" coins.

Terrible syntax agreed but the main jist of it is understood.

Seems like a big auction, get ready for a price shift, hopefully up!
583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PETITION AMAZON: 4,801 have signed, only 199 more to make 5000! on: November 11, 2014, 07:47:02 PM
On a serious note,

Do you think amazon will take action for 5000 users?

Simply put: nope.

They will reconsider it for a little while, maybe do a little research and wait for more demand from bitcoin users. If there were to be 50k or even 100k users saying bitcoin would improve their service, Amazon would likely take steps to profit from bitcoin.
584  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The hacker stole my bitcoin on: November 11, 2014, 07:45:13 PM
Near zero info from op, useless thread.....

Seems like it was made for the post count.

If he really needs help: Use 2FA, always, everywhere and you will be safe as long as your phone is!
585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will change legal name to Bitcoin on: November 11, 2014, 07:44:07 PM
200BTC I would do it for less.

It should be a dutch auction. People should start quoting lower bids.

100btc when the price hits $1000 each Wink
586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Other than Bitcointalk on: November 11, 2014, 07:41:04 PM
You'll also find on the various exchanges a lot of Bitcoin users hanging about on chat, since they do so much business there they just seem to hang out there too.

Also known as "trollboxes". Don't take anything they say in them too seriously and especially not for fact.

Hashtalk.org is quite interesting if you're into mining, even if you're not it's quite appealing to visit.
587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Changetip and why it is the killer app that BTC needed on: November 11, 2014, 07:39:42 PM
/tip $.0001

I wish this would work with this forum, it would be useful but a lot of spam messages saying "tip has been sent and claimed by userxxx" would be seen.

Is there an extension that does it all offline but still responds to posts such as: /tip $.0001?
588  Other / Off-topic / Re: Forum Signature Marketplace on: November 11, 2014, 07:36:35 PM
most are auctioned in the auction place, or services section.

I have never seen an auction for such a thing but maybe they do exist.

Services section has all of the campaigns which are open. Please make they sure they are using an escrow to guarantee a payout!

BTC to break $2,000 mark by Christmas – Experts

http://cointelegraph.com/news/111597/btc_to_break_2_000_mark_by_christmas_experts

So, you can just imagine the staggering overinvestment  NOW in bitcoin mining.

Maybe the market is just trying to get rid of overcapacity.

A few big bankruptcies in the coming months would probably do wonders.

From another biased point of view though.. CNN and cointelegraph are extremely biased. We need a news source that is completely unbiased now!
590  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Dell.com accepts Bitcoin..... but Dell.ca doesn't! on: November 05, 2014, 05:35:01 PM
They accepts bitcoin worldwide the only case would be the .ca website haven't updated but their executives must have known about it.

You're confusing them with overstock who, IIRC, are accepting bitcoin for worldwide shipments of all their products. I would recommend them highly!
591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The transaction fee is just ridiculous. on: November 05, 2014, 05:34:14 PM
Except for signing and logging your transactions on the blockchain of course

Who's forcing someone to use the blockchain?

Well no one, but to view transactions you must use some kind of public ledger which is where the blockchain jumps in.
592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Address of winklevoss bitcoins? on: November 05, 2014, 05:32:34 PM
I suspect they have sliced their holdings into 100s of small addresses

1000s surely. 100 address with a total of 150k would still contain 1500 bitcoins EACH! I would split it further to 100btc chunks, and generate 100 at a time with different computers!
593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTCT.com hacked and lost 107 btc on: November 05, 2014, 05:31:11 PM
I wonder how could these websites/exchanges still not be serious about security after several incidents already happened and everybody knows about it.

They are very serious, however bugs often slip through and are discovered by hackers who exploit them unfortunately.
594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Spending Bitcoin? on: November 02, 2014, 11:42:14 AM
Sometime I spend bitcoin, in particular when there is some sale for people which use it (good way to promote bitcoin). Anyway, I don't want spend so much bitcoin because I think that (especially now) it isn't a good thing to spend, considering that price is low..

Refer to the post I just made above!
595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Spending Bitcoin? on: November 02, 2014, 11:41:56 AM
I'd really love to spend some of my coins on things I want, but I just can't bring myself to spend them at such low price. Everytime I almost persuade myself to spend them the price seems to have fallen lower and lower. Feel like I'd just be losing money spoending them now.

You'd only be losing money if the price for 1 bitcoin rose from the time you spent it. Currently that isn't a problem!

You can always buy back the bitcoin you spent with 10% more, so that your bitcoin holdings are ever increasing or steady.
596  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBMining.com? on: November 02, 2014, 11:29:34 AM
Does pbmining still ask for a 5 year contract? I remember that when I was looking for a cloud mining services. That's why I've chosen CEX.IO.

I think you can choose that or a 1 year contract. Some people buy GHs, mine for a month then sell the GHs at the current rate, making back their investment possible + the mining revenue.
597  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: help me choose a wallet on: November 02, 2014, 11:28:41 AM
I would go for a web wallet, just because it is so convenient and easy to function with.

Desktop wallets are risky and often require a lot of thinking to operate well and safely.
598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Spending Bitcoin? on: November 02, 2014, 11:27:24 AM
I have bought from overstock around 6 months ago, nothing since then. Bitcoin black friday was fun too.
599  Economy / Economics / Re: Was Bitcoin actually just a Pump and Dump? on: November 02, 2014, 11:25:44 AM
How you can say that & Satochi didn't even touch his coins on the first place  Shocked

agreed !

and the op said STARTED

so... guys that jumped on it after the fact and traded is not the guys who started it with as a conspiracy.. this whole logic is Fail.

Hold up. How can we be sure Satoshi didn't mine coins while he was collecting his big stash? I'm sure he mined a few 1000 which have moved around and are still active, possible in his control, moved in 2014 maybe.
600  Other / Off-topic / Re: Today is my birthday on: November 02, 2014, 11:22:49 AM
