So I reset my PC, and scrubbed my harddrives. I forgot to backup my Litecoin wallet. They're forever gone right... ? There isn't a magical technique that LTC can do, that BTC can't, to bring back my coins is there? tis why ya keep that kind of important stuff on partisions that you dont wipe often ;-) (as in not the OS drive)

That is very good question. Did you change worker type on website or user/parword in cgminer on your rigs? Yes, No, No Did this "magic" split last long? Coinotron uses 10 minutes average to calculate worker/user speed. Maybe you just observed averaged TRC and BTC hashrates being momentarily equal? Hrm, I should of assumed that... that was probably the case. I'm not sure how long I switched them over, but it wasn't very long at all. I will try to re-create the problem, but this time leave them on TRC for longer and see if the miners work themselves out. Hopefully the BTC miners delete themselves after ~10 minutes. You'll see this as well if say you switch to another pool.. if you look 5 minutes later you'll see a hash rate split in someway between both pools.. as the numbers are some sort of timed average. that said.. I DONT recommend having TRC and BTC pools in cgminer at the same time (I use a diff batch file for each)... the longpolls will eff everything up and cause cgminer to "freeze" with the WAIT status because it will get a new block info from the TRC pool and think the BTC pool is issueing work for an old block.

cgminer bleeding of shares to other pools can be avoided by using --failover-only
maybe you missed the part where I have found 3 solo blocks with bleedover shares... why would you not want them? if you are comparing the shares accepted by CGminer compared to shares accepted by pool, during the test you dont want bleedover to overpools

BITCARE DOES NOT WORK
bitcare works fine for me man, pops up a notification in android very quickly when an individual worker goes down... plus.. its not the pools problem that you can't properly monitor your workers, they already stated the monitoring feature is down currently. if its that big a deal just move to another pool and pay a higher fee. 50BTC is a DAMN good pool for only 3%

OK, sounds like we'll need to make "pro" versions for both Linux and Windows.
The current build that is going to be released is aimed at non-technical people: we will be using this version with gamers who aren't familiar with Bitcoin mining. We'll start working a version with the advanced features pro miners need, such as command line control, as soon as this build is done (this week probably).
At the end of the day it needs to work well and be VERY stable. There is a reason why CGminer and BFGminer are regarded as great in this community and GUIminer is regarded as crap. Giving users the choice of 'complexity' is a good thing as well. Something like Boinc and Folding@Home clients give the users a couple options of how complex the GUI is while allowing basic users to have a simple interface and giving power users more options/control and better stats reporting. Stats is VERY important for power users in distributed computing. People who have multiple computers NEED to have EASY access to the numbers that their machines are putting out to 1. easily see if there are any machines down/issues and 2. just to monitor how things are going. Just my 2 cents

Dang... I didnt realize this site was down until after I paid a 10ltc bet on the 37% option...
ah well, its what happens when you see the address in your address book and go "oh hey! lets play!" before checking.. lol

120%
For how long is this planned? who knows.. but its been going for several hours straight at least :-D
|
|
|
IS there anyway to add more workers than just the "Default" one?

yay 111%
95% for me... sad panda

I see bitcoin as more of a threat to government than to banks. Banks are businesses, if they can make money they dont give a crap HOW they make it...
governementson the otherhand, once they get their mind set on something can really do some damage. they have the power to strong arm businesses into doing their bidding if needed which includes keeping banks from doing business with known coin users or even trying to arrest users themselves. making it illegal would be the easiest way to stop bitcoin...
and of course.. it would be in fighting the war on drugs..

So the higher the number the better it is then? Im so confused lol. All I know is im making far more today with proportional than I am with PPS. More than triple.
its called luck. there will be days you make FAR less than PPS.. theoretically over a long period of time it'll be roughly equal, but if that pool is used often by hoppers, you will make less.

Maybe now we can pull 650+ kh/s out of 7970s.
Try a core of 950 MHz and a memory speed of 1525 MHz, you should pull over 400 kh/s I would think.
I have a 7950 getting 640 kh/s at 1050/1500. I tried your suggestion and the khash did not appear to increase.

In order to become rich all you need is a pen and a paper. If you can write good books, movies, etc you can become rich. If you can play soccer, run or box you can become rich. If you can sing like a star, you can become rich. If you can entertain with your humor, you can become rich. If you can paint. All of these are things you can learn or do for free. It is a matter of being good at something.. making a product/service that people want and then convincing lots of people to give you money. Its just the last part is the tough one....

It is truely interesting just HOW different the 7770/7870 class cards are from the 7950.
On the 7950.. more clock/mem = more hash rate.. end of story.. while on the 7770/7870.. more core/hash over a certain amount is LESS hashing..
I wonder if it is a driver issue or physical hardware issue.. hmm

|
|
I found out how to get 390k/hash from a 7870!!!
essentially you treat it JUST like tacotime did with his 7770's...
Why? a 7870 is almost exactly a "double" 7770... double the shaders, and double the memory bandwidth.
No matter what I tried before, I could never get above 320 khash.
Downclocking the core all the way to 920 while bumping memory up to 1360 did the trick along with intensity 19.
Funny thing is... raise the clock to 1000 and the mem to 1450... 310 khash....
LTC mining is truly an art...

Thanks for posting that up about the 7700. It got me to try out some more clock/mem combinations on it as well.
Why intensity 16? I found I had the best hash rate at 19. (bfgminer)
Using a clock of 975 and mem of 1500 I was able to get a solid 200 out of each of my cards. EDIT: the miner tends to crash within 15 minutes at this clock.
Now.. that said.. my 7950's are REALLY starting to confuse me.
So on one of my rigs, I reinstalled win7 yesterday, and before I was able to get 620 k/hash out of them... now I can barely get 550..
to make things even more confusing... another rig (7950 and a 7870)... the 7950 gets 650 khash..... with the exact same driver and clock settings.
makes no friggin sense..
BTC hash rate is still the same though, with 600 each @ 1150 mhz core.
EDIT/RESOLUTION: Seemed to be a kernel/driver issue. I imaged the OS drive, reinstalled windows... found out the hashrate was normal.... restored the image.. and I was back in business again.

1800 kh/s versus 1600 kh/s
told ya 7950's are easily good for 600 each ;-) Also, you can use the minerd program for your cpu mining. Espescially for those using rigs as heaters and those with free elctricity.. a good i5 is worth 50khash as well as any other quad/6 core chip should be around there or more.
