581  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it the right time to invest on BTC on: September 14, 2014, 04:39:12 PM
With Paypal implementing it in the Braintree platform and hinting they are closely interested in it for them and ebay, I don't think there could be a better moment to enter in the Bitcoin economy in any way you can afford to.
582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal’s Braintree Embraces Bitcoin, One-Touch Payments on: September 14, 2014, 03:34:04 AM
What is this? like testing the waters before paypal adoption?
They indeed said this was just their first step into cryptocurrencies, so they have further plans they still have to announce.

This guy has amazing videos about basics and more technical aspects of Bitcoin and what changes can bring to finance and the world in general.

Here's the interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6Cr_ipD13o&t=1m03s he didn't really say that, but he admits it could be part of the whole picture when the dollar will really struggle to keep its value.
585  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The devil, you say? Satanists say they're peaceful sect on: September 09, 2014, 08:29:18 AM
Satanists are not all like they depict them in movies and fiction. Generally its centered on humanism and it just rejects catholic culture as it's oscurantist and deprives man from what really defines him. There are then different types of satanism which include occultism and weird things.

bitcoin will put pp out of business...

...or Paypal will introduce many mainstream businesses to Bitcoin.   Smiley

Indeed. They just need to shift to a different way of making business, which may not be easy, but is still better than being replaced. Every corporation needs to grow bigger, acquire new things anyway to remain competitive.
587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal + Bitcoin on: September 08, 2014, 03:39:38 PM
Wow! Where's my bubble? Cheesy
Amazing news and great video, the "borg vibe" in it really catched me. I'm so excited to see what they are planning!
I'm pretty sure Paypal and Coinbase/Bitpay worked together recently, I'd bet they are about to buy one or the other.
588  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoins with elections on: September 08, 2014, 04:54:08 AM
There was an article from vice sometime ago about the topic: http://motherboard.vice.com/read/bitcoin-could-change-voting-the-way-its-changed-money. A political party in Italy (Movement 5 Star) was experimenting with a similar concept in their meetups, I guess it could soon become a reality at least in internal issues that require members voting and then probably in real elections.
589  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTS [EU] Ally Runetotem, Kilrog, Nagrand World of warcraft Gold. on: September 08, 2014, 04:50:21 AM
Up. More gold to sell.
590  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Record: 92,269,000 Not in Workforce - USA on: September 07, 2014, 09:17:09 AM
That's astounding. There's a similar misrepresentation of figures in Europe aswell anyway. In Italy in particular they say we have "just" 19% unemployement, but this doesn't take in account every person which is not actively looking for a job. Including them in the equation brings the rate to almost 30%. Media reports a 25% unemployement in men between 18-26 years, but including everyone who is not looking for a job nor studying, so effectively doing nothing, brings the rate to almost 40%.
591  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Paying with BTC on: September 07, 2014, 07:46:32 AM
Expedia accepts Bitcoin, since August if I'm not mistaken. So indirectly I guess you could pay any airline company with Bitcoin using them.
592  Economy / Digital goods / WTS [EU] Ally Runetotem, Kilrog, Nagrand World of warcraft Gold. on: September 06, 2014, 12:50:06 PM
Hi there. I'd like to sell 100,000 gold for 35€. I'm offering you a rate of 0,35€ per 1000g. Sites rates are around 0,6€.
If you want to use an escrow, bring him here and we shall proceed.
As specified in the title, the gold is on Runetotem which is anyway linked to Kilrog and Nagrand so we can do the trade if you are on those two realms aswell. Alliance side. EU.

If you know of someone or a site that buys wow gold and pays in bitcoin please let me know.
593  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Women earn $0.77 for every $1 men earn. on: September 05, 2014, 09:39:42 AM
In my country, Italy, there are jobs where women earn less, and the majority of these are important roles of leadership in companies and businesses. Lower income jobs as cashiers and in restaurants? Women are payed the same or sometimes even more. Not counting tips which are obviously much bigger for women in restaurants.
594  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US claims it has rightful access to data stored on servers anywhere in the world on: September 05, 2014, 09:37:40 AM
Privacy is a thing of the past, and as I said in another thread, the next wars won't be about territorial conquests but on datas and informations. We are entering in an era where the metaverse is as important, if not more, as the physical world.
595  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obama on ISIS: 'We Don't Have a Strategy Yet' on: September 04, 2014, 05:00:19 PM
I don't think that's the case, they are just waiting to see how things will play out as there are so many big question marks around there, it's not only about middle east. Anyway ISIS and Maliki's side are causing so much problems there it's actually a good thing for US, when they will cease to be a useful asset he will then say what his strategy is.
596  Economy / Economics / Re: Centralized Exchange on: September 04, 2014, 01:23:20 PM
ETFs are probably going to offer what you are looking for: a centralized platform offering definitive bid/ask price sets to institutional investors and that will be where to look for a valuation of Bitcoin from the financial world.
597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin and craigslist on: September 03, 2014, 05:01:38 PM
Even on some italian sites like Subito.it where you can sell used stuff there were a couple of posts with the seller accepting bitcoin as payment. It was only a matter of time before it was used in this market as it's extremely efficient in some situations.
598  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Bitcoin da attività illecita on: September 03, 2014, 09:07:30 AM
599  Other / Politics & Society / Re: By 2025, ‘sexbots will be commonplace’ – which is just fine, as we’ll all be... on: September 03, 2014, 09:03:39 AM
We may very well have decent sex robots in 2019, even now there are some robots who can move as sinuously as a human, problems are weight and of course price of components. We already have silicone dolls which are so lifelike it's unbelievable, but they cost more than 3000$. Given I worked with people that are in the robotics field, I agree 2025 will most likely be the period when these will be common place, but we already are close to the uncanny valley.

According to government figures released in 2010, there are 700,000 individuals living as hikikomori with an average age of 31
It's not only Japan who has this problem, in my country, Italy there are so many unemployed young men and women between 18 and 30 that aren't even looking for a job and because of this they are afraid of social interactions or they feel that they don't belong out there. This phenomenon will be much large than you expect.
600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are You Spending Bitcoin? on: September 02, 2014, 07:45:14 AM
Of course, I spend them when I feel a bear phase is coming though, so I can buy them again later.
