5801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Western Conference Finals (Warriors vs Mavericks) on: May 26, 2022, 03:53:24 PM
Game 5 tomorrow and likely be the last game in WCF this season.

I would agree with that statement.  The Warriors let their foot off the gas last game but I think they're ready to put the Mavericks away and send Luka on a trip to Cancun.  The guys on TNT have to be ready to do their fishing routine tonight, as it will almost certainly be the end of the Dallas Mavericks' season.  They did much better than I thought they would, but they just don't have the depth of talent that Golden State has.
5802  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Cryptocurrencies should be taught as a course under marketing on: May 26, 2022, 08:16:37 AM
My question is...  Why marketing?  I would think that cryptocurrencies would be far more at home in an economics or computer science course.  Even politics I could understand.  I'm not sure how much marketing has to do with Bitcoin's success though...  I think it has more to do with the brilliance of the blockchain being secured by a hashing function.
5803  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China is a declining Power on: May 26, 2022, 12:04:42 AM
I think this Covid stuff is just a speed bump for China.  I would hardly call them a declining power.  They will most certainly be the world's leading superpower in another 15 years, regardless of how much their growth slows.  I think as the world continues to evolve, China will find itself in an increasingly powerful position.  They have a lot of their side for the future.  I wouldn't count them out...
5804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 25, 2022, 11:32:30 PM
Looks like we will see these both teams having some handicap again later in Game 5 as lots of players on the both sides are still questionable to play. There's a lot who puts their bets on the Celtics side than the home team, we will see how the game goes later. This is quite interesting!

Injury Report for the Game 5 at Miami:
(BOSTON CELTICS)
Sam Hauser - Out
Marcus Smart - Questionable
Robert Williams III- Questionable

(MIAMI HEAT)
P.J. Tucker- Questionable
Gabe Vincent - Questionable
Tyler Herro - Questionable
Max Strus - Questionable
Kyle Lowry - Questionable

I'm guessing nearly all of those guys will play, but we'll see.  The game will kick off here in about an hour and I'm ready for some basketball.  I've been wrong so far with thinking the Heat didn't have a chance, but I'm sticking with my opinion that the Celtics are the better team and will pull out a victory from this series.  Tonight seems as good a night as any to grab the series lead.
5805  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] FutureBit Apollo BTC Miner (sold out on their website) on: May 25, 2022, 11:29:01 PM
One sold.  I have one left...  Feel free to make me an offer and the coins I'm willing to accept are listed in the original post.  If you have any questions let me know.  This miner is currently operating with no issues on slush's pool at 3TH/s.  It's nearly silent and in a room with GPU miners I can't even tell it's there.  Smiley  Thanks for looking!

5806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: May 25, 2022, 11:25:07 PM
I said this before, and a lot of people say to me im wrong. But i have to say it again, ANY team can be champion in this NBA 2022 season, its unbeliev e how all the teams winning one amtch for a +20 margin and in the next game lose for a +20 margin, its ridiculous.

Yesterday game also , a lot of time were dont see so many missed shots, for both teams

That's why it's a 7 game series.  Teams make adjustments in the postseason and sometimes the other team doesn't have an answer in the moment...  Then after a strategy meeting and a team practice the same technique might be ineffective.  The thought it that over a 7 game series the better team will emerge as the winner and while it isn't perfect, it's a decent system.  If only they could keep all the players healthy, it would be awesome.
5807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good time to start accepting BTC? on: May 25, 2022, 06:44:37 PM
Hello all,

I have been following Bitcoin prices for some time, and now I'm doubtful if it is a good time to start accepting it as it has changed so much in the past months. Those who accept Bitcoin - is it worth it? And do you accept Bitcoin straight to your wallet, or do you use third-party services?

Thanks in advance!

Depending on how you accept it, it's always a good time.  You don't have to hold the BTC you receive, or you could hold only a portion of it in BTC.  The preferred method of course is to hold it forever, but sometimes as a business you've got to cash out a little to pay the bills.  I'd say to make a clear plan of what your goals are and then budget your BTC accordingly.  Whether that's BTC from new sales or just BTC you're holding on your balance sheet.
5808  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 25, 2022, 06:41:53 PM
It feels to me like we're back in an accumulation phase with this sideways movement.  I'd be extremely bullish but there are a few factors to consider.

1)  We are at the point in the cycle where another drop is to be expected.

2)  Mtgox coins are still hanging over the market's head.

3) Leveraged long positions on bitfinex are at an all time high meaning a lot of selling needs to take place to cover those positions.

Those are 3 factors that shouldn't be ignored by anyone looking to invest.  It is still quite likely that there's another big drop in store, even if the market is feeling particularly bullish.
5809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🌐 Filecoin Mining l Discussion on: May 25, 2022, 06:35:09 PM
In addition, the RSI indicators are at an all-time low. With ATH, the price dropped by 97% after being in a downtrend for 400 days. Now is the best time to enter if you are planning to replenish your FIL reserves in order to start mining this coin in the future.
On the daily chart, I can see the price of FIL is falling and ADL is rising, indicating that there is huge buying pressure, but the price is still falling.

How can this be? [I would appreciate a detailed answer]

This can be logically explained, but I do not have enough data to do this. Does anyone know the FIL reserves in the pockets of investment companies? And periods of defrosting purchased coins. I don't believe that miners can constantly move the price down, as Filecoin is a huge project with a rich history.

Filecoin seems to be on a race to the bottom.  I don't see any signs of that stopping.  I'm not familiar enough with it to know the details of how it's mined, but I'm aware there are plenty of sites offering large % returns to hold it...  That's not the best sign for an investment, that previous investors are getting handed tons of new coins for free to dump, and I think the market has shown what happens when this is the distribution plan.  The thing about an asset falling 97% is that it can always still fall another 97%.
5810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PC gamers taking things too serious? on: May 25, 2022, 06:32:05 PM
Why do gamers try as much as possible to avoid graphic cards that have been used for mining before? Is this even making sense because it looks like tech illiteracy to me, does it makes any difference when mining to gaming because my gaming PC is always built ot upgrade with GPU that I have used for mining and there isn't any issue.

I know when I'm building a gaming rig, a lot of effort goes into making sure everything will work together properly and there won't be any bottlenecks for performance.  GPUs that have been used for mining have usually been beat to hell, running in hot conditions at max usage with their fans at 100% for sometimes years.  No gamer wants to deal with squeaking fans or GPUs that might have issues and damage a PSU...

So I understand completely why gamers wouldn't want a GPU that's been used for mining.  I wouldn't either.  I've experienced so many different problems with used GPUs...  It's definitely a thing.
5811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: May 25, 2022, 06:28:30 PM
At the age of 31, Canelo looks to be nearing retirement. He appeared to have lost his motivation, or been in too many wars against Bivol.

What sucks for GGG is he has only 1 loss on his record to Canelo. And many felt GGG won both fights. A case could be made for GGG being undefeated at this point in his carer.

GGG might have to knock Canelo out to get a win. Removing the judges from the equation is the only chance he has of winning. Commentators and judges are too biased in Canelo's favor.

Canelo to me is the most overrated boxer in the world. I don't understand how he gets so much hype behind him.

After Bivol destroyed him in the ring, he is not as overrated as before. It confuses me how quickly this fight was announced after the loss to Bivol - is it really done in order to return the “halo” of a big boxer for Canello? GGG is definitely a big name, but he is 40 years old and I will be very upset if Canello wins now just because of his age.

Canelo seems to be fighting as often as he can these days.  Seems like he may know that his best days are behind him and he's trying to get as much money and put on as many top level fights as he can before he hangs up the gloves.  He was a hell of a fighter, but father time is undefeated.  I think he'll probably have a few good years left, but I think it's obvious that he is no longer in his fighting prime.
5812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Nearly Bailed Me Out on: May 25, 2022, 06:23:26 PM
I wonder who else has access to old wallets Smiley

I recently found $250 in an old slushpool wallet when I was testing out a new miner.  Pretty funny because I know it was only in there when I stopped mining many years ago and left dust behind.  DUST!  That dust that wasn't worth paying the withdrawal fee to remove was now worth hundreds of dollars.  I can only imagine all the BTC I've left behind at various sites over the years.  If only all those sites still stuck around.  I'm sure I'd be mega super rich.
5813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So my portfolio is down %70...too late to pull back now I guess on: May 25, 2022, 06:18:45 PM
This downtrend has been detrimental to my health (mental health). Exactly %70 just now. No lunch money type of money either.

Have we ever experienced this kind of downtrend before?? What's the latest on how long this might last, or if it's even going to recover.

It is not uncommon for crypto assets to experience a 90% downturn.  It's happened before and it will likely happen again.  Just don't double down or do anything crazy like take loans to try and catch the bottom.  It is quite possible this market too experiences a 90% drop, and if so there's still a long way down from 70%...  Brace yourself if you're going to hold, but make sure you're committed.  If you hold for a while only to sell the absolute bottom when it hits, you won't be doing yourself any favors.  That's why they say to only invest what you can afford to lose, that way you'll ride out the bottom.
5814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 25, 2022, 06:14:55 PM
It's too obvious from Coach Kerr, that is a give away. Their bench is paved a way to make it a close match and he could've called Curry and Klay as early as they could but it's like there's a lag before he did it. It doesn't matter, the Warriors will definitely win this in game 5.
How about Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics later. This series is kinda unpredictable and I could not tell if the Heat do have the upper hand at their home. Boston stole one from them and it could happen again.
I may just watch the game and forget about betting.

I was a bit surprised that the Warriors didn't close out the Mavericks yesterday, but maybe they wanted some more ad revenue or something...  Even watching the game it didn't make sense they were losing.  It was like they weren't really trying.

I think Miami is done.  They got a couple of wins that I would characterize as getting some good breaks.  Marcus Smart and Al Horford have had enough time to get back to being near 100% healthy.  I'm going with Boston tonight.
5815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real-estate & Crypto on: May 25, 2022, 07:14:39 AM
Hello guys,
Do you know where is can purchase legally a real-estate asset in crypto?

My first question would be...  Where do you want to purchase real estate using crypto?  For the right price, I'd sell you my home for Bitcoin.  I think it's mostly about location, then finding someone who is not afraid of using an exchange like Coinbase to transfer money.  Not really much to it to be honest...
5816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash and renting hash power on: May 25, 2022, 07:12:58 AM
How are those buying hashing power on Nicehash making money? I heard that mining through the Nicehash platform is like renting out your mining hashrate so the question is who are those renting? People just like myself? If yes how are they making profit? Is this idea even profitable?

There are a couple of reasons why someone might want to rent hashpower.  Maybe you have a new coin coming out and you want to be in on the early generation of it.  This is the case I most often see from people talking about renting hashpower.  The other is of course gambling.  Maybe you think you can spend a little BTC and hit a block.  It would certainly be a nice payoff.  Pretty unlikely though.  Most of the time Nicehash is the winner.
5817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 25, 2022, 07:10:12 AM
I was definitely way off on that one.  Glad I didn't have anything on the line.  Dallas keeps surprising me this postseason.  Luka seems to get points no matter what.  I don't understand how he's able to score so much when he's so slow, but he does.  I'm glad they managed to keep from being swept.  I still think the Warriors easily win this series though.  It will just take them one more game.
5818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 25, 2022, 01:05:55 AM
I will also go with the Dallas this game, I think the Warriors might relax in this game and might want to finish Dallas in their home court game 5.
Same here, I expect Dallas to come out swinging and dish out their all here since it'll be a huge question mark to the team if they don't get at least one win while the other teams (Nuggets and Grizzlies) got at least one home win. I also want to include the under as I think the pace will continue to slow down similar to the last game but i'm more confident on Dallas to win.

I think the opposite. I think Dallas knows they’re finished and probably subconsciously want this series to be over. I’m not expecting much out of them tonight and I think the Warriors are incentivized to win and get on to the next round. The odds giving Dallas a good shot at winning seem like an opportunity for a nice win. I currently don’t have any money on this game, but if I was betting I’d be betting Warriors without hesitation.
5819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The bitcoin price drop is an excellent time to buy bitcoins on: May 24, 2022, 07:04:55 PM
I would agree that buying now is better than buying at the all time high.  However, don't expect to catch the bottom of this falling knife.  There's a high probability we see a $10,000 Bitcoin before this correction is over.  For that reason, don't go all in at once.  Use the old dollar cost averaging technique to start accumulating.  The only time I'd go in with a big buy at this point is once we've seen a high volume drop that signals capitulation.  We saw one at $26K, which would have been a good point to buy and flip above $30K, but right now we are settled into a trading range, so I wouldn't be making big bets here.
5820  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC -85% FROM ATH IN NOVEMBER..... on: May 24, 2022, 07:02:35 PM
To me there has only been 3 big bull runs... We are just slipping down from that 3rd one now.

The 2013/2014...... 2017/2018..... and the 2020/21......

The first 2 both lost 85% before reversing upwards.. Can we expect the same now?

This is a good take.  Those are in fact the 3 bubbles that resulted from the block reward halvings.  If we are to expect the same thing this time (I don't see any reason why it would be different) then of course you could expect a price drop.  Looks like your math expects a price around $10,000, which is the very obvious support level when you zoom out.  Sure, an ETF might create upward movement, but only if it's different this time...  I'd expect the manipulators to hold off on the ETF until after the mtgox coins are distributed, to keep the pattern going as good as possible and prepare for a run beyond six figures in 2025.
