Lo miré, y el rastro lleva a Binance. A partir de allí sólo la plataforma tiene la potestad de mirar más y/o actuar. Otra persona siguió el rastro y llegó al mismo paradero. En este caso juegan varios factores: - La confianza en un desconocido, que a lo largo de seis meses se fraguó hasta tener al cliente en el punto de caramelo para dar el gran golpe. - El desconocimiento por parte del cliente de la esencialidad de controlar la Transacción y sus confirmaciones, habiendo tenido meses de TXs previas para poderse haber enterado algo más. |

Hoy he leido en el foro un caso de RBF que, sin ser novedoso, cabe tener presente y recordar de vez en cuando. El caso es el de una persona que encontró el teléfono de un comerciante de bitcoin en internet, y estableció contacto con él a través de Telegram. Llevaba unos seis meses comprándole bitcoin, pero en esta última ocasión, parece que le timó utilizando un RBF. El problema base está en no comprender que uno debe esperar al menos una confirmación de la TX antes de darla por buena. Entiendo que el cliente vio la TX (no confirmada), envió los fondos de la compra al comprador, y éste procedió a realizar un RBF para levantarle la cartera. El montante de caso no es pequeño: 3,79 BTCs, enviado en la primera TX a razón de 1.005 sat/B, y en la TX del RBF a 201.047 sat/B. Esta segunda TX se ha enviado con un fee elevado, para asegurarse la jugada y que se procesase con diligencia (con 7 minutos entre ambas TXs). La primera TX se envió con un fee especialmente bajo para que tardase cuanto menos lo suficiente para el desarrollo de la jugada. Just to comment that, regardless of the questions themselves, which are a derivate of the specific goals you want to get answers to, you need to pay attention to some global factors, such as: - Sample size required to have meaningful results (read https://www.surveymonkey.com/mp/sample-size-calculator/ for a comprehensible explanation). A smaller sample than needed will be insightful, but not conclusive. - Diversity in the surveyed audience (i.e. if you want to know something on the general population between 18 and 65, make sure you’ve got people of all sorts of backgrounds and age groups randomly, and not all working in the financial district for example). - Closed questions versus open questions: The more closed the options, the more quantitative analysis you can do. Open questions lead to a more qualitative approach. Most questions should probably be quantitative, meaning that you have to set the question in the right tone to get a 0 .. 9, or delimit the set of answers of a given question to a list. |

I was actually going to propose that, rather than ask for sparse suggestions, somebody with a keen interest in the area would draw-up a list of those active campaigns that do currently accept Jr. Members, in a similar manner to @Mitchell’s thread, but applied to those paying in altcoins (since there are no BTC paying signature campaigns for Jr. Members). Of course, the pay-out is incomparable in altcoins (-to-be and if), but other features may be more comparable such as number of slots, campaign manager, reputation, number of running weeks, and so forth.
It probably takes a while to kick-off the first compilation, but then keeping it up-to-date should be manageable. Of course, this type of task requires commitment and some dedication, and that is not always around.

The best way to avoid it is simply to always put things in your own words, as a summary, compendium, expansion, criticism, or set of questions. Everybody reads and picks-up things here and there from their readings, but they do not go blunting it out verbatim. Specific parts that are well phrased and meaningful to replicate can, and probably should, be included in quotes, but the poster should build and elaborate somewhat around that. As to including the reference, which is the plagiarism accusation killer (mind you, not the unsubstantial post killer), needless to say, one should add the correct references, and not any reference pointing to who knows what. Lately I’ve see a post whose references were all wrong, and when trying to ament the situation (after been called out), the added references were even worse. The have to be specific to where the core of the text comes from, not generic. Besideds the serve as a source for the readers to expand, and not get lost in. Another case on my local board must have read that references were needed. He goes and includes them, but pointing to whatever crap he wants to shill, being non-related to the topic being treated. Even if it seems needless to say, for the sake of those who do not infer the obvious, references have to be accurate (people do actually go and check them out). |

They were disabled in february 2019, as depicted in this thread: Stop animated images in FireFox / Tor browser / Chrome. Apparently, they were not intended to be allowed, buy PNGs managed to get away with it until the matter was looked into and promptly handled: OK, APNGs are now detected. Old ones are grandfathered for now, in part because people have ongoing campaigns, but in the future I might (or might not) go through and remove them.
They were pretty annoying and distracting when reading (remaining still are ..., but there aren't that many around visually). |

Yo asumo esta etapa como un hobby, cuyo coste de oportunidad, en mi caso, ha sido esencialmente reducir la cantidad ingente de series que visualizaba. Como tal, lo que requiere es cierto tiempo y algo de madurez, a sabiendas que hay áreas que son propensas a ser potencialmente voraces del recurso limitado (tiempo), y que por eso uno debe ponderar si puede dedicarles todo lo que requieren (leamos aquí las vertientes eminentemente técnicas del desarrollo, el trading, y afines).
No siempre tendrás la comprensión de este hobby por parte de tu círculo más cercano, pero tampoco probablemente lo tendría si me dedicase a montar maquetas de barcos.
Nota: Para algunos, el hobby se puede tornar algo más serio con el paso del tiempo.

I make the best case scenario for 100 to be 1 97 tricked down (100+50+25+12+6+3+1), and 34K to turn into 67.995 at best. Edit: Lapsus plumae between 6 and 9 ... Personally, I’ve neglected in hitting the right awarding tone in terms of amount per TX. I presumed my initial pace was good enough to empty out my allowance with 2 sMerits per TXs on average, but seeing that there is now less than a week to complete the cycle, and still plenty in stock, I should probably rethink my initial plan. Of course, I’m now finding less posts to merit than a couple of weeks ago, so that didn’t help me to stay on course … I’m therefore on the "lazy" end. |

Opera is really a proxy, not a VPN. Yes, it does camouflage your real IP from the site you connect to, but not all your computer traffic as a VPN does. The other day I tried to create an account using Opera, to see what happens. As expected, the IP it provided me had a ton of units of Evil associated to it: 23.414,50 units of Evil, require a fee of 68350 sats ... Tor should be way more private in any case, if that is what one is after. |

At some point, some people asked to see on my local board that received most Merits there, and to compare that to the Merits they sent there (see sMerit - Generosos y Tacaños - Foro Español). I did this from a local board prism, but also from a global perspective of those participating on the local board. The list ends up depicting those that are most generous, but also those that are the meanest. I did extend that to all merited forum profiles, but only on the link to the Google Sheet doc (second tab). When going over the local board list, there are a bunch of profiles that have earned merits on the local board, one even in the three digit range, but have given none or close to none back there. That doesn’t deter me from meriting them though, since I value some of their posts way more than the merits they could be giving back to the forum. One is specifically well versed technically, and his posts are always appreciated, regardless of his near to null participation in the Merit System. |

It’s actually a pretty decent week in terms of newly appointed high ranks. I don’t have exactly what I’d call comparable data. Since the introduction of the Merit System, I make it 145 accounts have made it to Legendary, and 158 to Hero, needing Merits in the process (see https://public.tableau.com/views/BitcointalkMeritDashboard/Ranked-up?:language=en-US&:display_count=n&:origin=viz_share_link). I don’t keep track of the associated ranking dates, other by the posting I make of those detected on a weekly basis (i.e. I’d need to go over all this thread to break these figures by year - end of 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021).
