5882  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will October's bubble burst? on: October 21, 2013, 12:32:51 PM
this isn't a bubble, but a permanent rise, this is the start of Bitcoin rise

Bought all in at 194 so prepare for a sharp and violent decline anytime from now and 20 minutes from now.

LOL. I feel ya' brother

i think i´m plagued by the same disease  Cry
5883  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: announcement: the international "when-bitcoin-reaches 1000,- $ party" on: October 21, 2013, 12:26:47 PM
I'll join the party where everyone uses Guy Fawkes masks.

we could do that on arrival, but these things can become quite uncomfortable and a hinderance.

the party venue will have a smaller open-to-anyone section and a giant private section, where things go wild/out of control
5884  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this good time to buy on: October 21, 2013, 11:52:29 AM
My opinion, all coins under 1000$ are cheap coins, and I bought as much as I can, each time I've money to spare.  Hope I'll get to 1000 BTC before it goes to 1000$ !

+1
that´s what i call a solid strategy.  Wink
5885  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Bitstamp Euro Tooltips on: October 21, 2013, 11:42:57 AM

Für alle die auf bitstamp.net Euro-Preise als tooltip sehen wollen:

http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/180387

Quote
Bitstamp Euro Tooltips

Bitstamp is a great exchange especially for European users, but having to look up USD to EUR rates constantly can be a bit cumbersome. This adds a tooltip to all USD price and amount fields.

The rate is retrieved from Google finance, and displayed on the top of each page loaded.

The source code is kept as short and simple as possible to keep it easy to verify it is not doing anything untoward.

If you find this useful I’d appreciate a donation (any amount) of Bitcoins to: 14CjqiPTXRWwkJ7PxuiEmBQ6JE8XaChYip

Vorausgesetzt es passiert nichts grundlegend negatives.

klaus, wie wäre es mit einer kleinen address kollision welche noch nicht aufgeklärt zu sein scheint? Tongue

Hat das einen Hintergrund? (ausser evtl der NMC bug?)

the end of bitcoin  Shocked Shocked Shocked

5887  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the sudden price rise? on: October 21, 2013, 11:39:33 AM
Interesting the volume for USD/EUR/GBP following the silk road bust, vs the volume for CNY.

Especially compared to the relative CNY volume recently (baidu hype?)

I dunno what it all means, but its fun!

I've withdrawn one day before the rise, not my type of fun

sold ? noooooo.....  HOLD

welcome doyourduty, edd, BitshireHashaway, Rockford, dexX7, Cablez, gandhibt and gmannn

feels good to gain momentum, thx

@david: +1 for your enthusiasm, let´s keep this one to frankfurt. there will be a 10 k, 100 k and 1 mio parties after this one  Cheesy
@rassah: awesome idea, i vote for carribean or indian ocean
@molecular: since the budget will be rather grand, i will check out the latest sky projection gear  Wink.   having several parties at several parts of the world would surely be nice; but it will be hard to synchronize, since timing is anyway a difficult issue

Is Frankfurt settled then? I thought Berlin was an option and with the extra BTC infrastructure sounded like a very good one.

i favour frankfurt, but i´m no dictator (yet) Wink   it will be so much easier to get it done in frankfurt since the orga-team is located in the rhine-main area. since your point is valid i guess we will have a vote as soon as 50 or 100 people have paid. (ticket sale hasn´t started yet, reservations via this thread)

One of my friends asked if this would be good time to buy really big stake. I said yes, but I would like to hear more opinions.

since we don´t know what will happen to the chart, just level out the risk a little bit:

tell him do devide the investment sum into 5 or 10 even slices. buy every week at the same time for the same amount. that will take out most of the volatility and he will not get cought at a top.
5893  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is anyone worried how fast BTC is climbing in price? on: October 21, 2013, 07:04:49 AM
S-curve of course, but that S doesn't start inflecting until wayyyyyyyy later, like when a significant percentage of the population owns a significant amount of BTC.

you know that bitcoin is mainstream when...

-there are loads of bitcoin magazines at the newsstands
-there are bitcoin tv shows on every channel
-the taxman starts accepting payments in btc
-a bitcoin wallet is a feature of windows 10
-reports about the first trillionaires hit the news
-your kid demands its pocket money in btc
-your grandma starts mining altcoin

5896  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will October's bubble burst? on: October 20, 2013, 09:19:47 PM
I've said it time and again: if you think you're such an amazing trader that you can do better than the 1000% annual gain of just buying and holding, be my guest.

Early adoption phase is out and 1000+% annual rise is history, and yes I am better trading than just holding since I joined 4 months ago  Wink

the company behind angry birds has a 5x bigger market cap than bitcoin & all they do is angry birds. we are at the beginning of early in early adoption phase.
5897  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will October's bubble burst? on: October 20, 2013, 08:59:22 PM
People were asking these questions back in January as the price zoomed toward $20.

"Oh look, it's overbought, better take profits."

"Oh oh, it's up so high, it'll really crash hard from $22."

Yeah it crashed hard...to $50, from $266.

I've said it time and again: if you think you're such an amazing trader that you can do better than the 1000% annual gain of just buying and holding, be my guest.
Well, I think some people, due to limited capital want to maximize gains now in bitcoin so that they can realize those year over year gains down the road. But also, how long can we sustain those kind of annual gains, do you think?

just a few more years.

i will say... the longer that we stay at this level, the more nervous i get not being 100% btc... not sure what to do!  Undecided

buy back in.   Cool

everything below 1000 $ will be viewed as awfully cheap in a few years from now.
