5921  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: December 15, 2014, 11:35:14 AM

Without a bot sending payments weekly will be pretty cumbersome and time-consuming, though with PD releasing soon you'll probably lose a lot of members unless you can compete or offer something different.

How's PD better? Here you have 0.001/post (senior), last time I checked PD was suggesting 0.0009/post in the highest rated section.

A bot-payments could work if you limit the campaign to those with proven quality posts (non-spammers)
5922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin experts explain why BTC is better than PayPal on: December 15, 2014, 11:23:53 AM
should be in the press-section  Smiley

Not really. "Press" is designed mostly for 'notable press hits', so rather for 'outside' news services reporting on bitcoin.

The OP linked to report made by 'bitcoin experts', so not very suitable for 'press' section imo.
5923  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Some services take security more seriously than others on: December 15, 2014, 11:17:12 AM
Maybe he would be better off by reporting BitPay's bug to Coinbase  Smiley

But seriously, the support's reply is just below any standards. "Thanks for reporting critical bug and saving our asses. Now fuck off".
5924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overseas Holiday on: December 14, 2014, 11:08:40 PM

Just use coinmap, not comprehensive, but still the best directory:

http://coinmap.org/

Not much BTC businesses in Reykjavík, possibly due to their government not being very crypto-friendly
5925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you give Bitcoin to a non-bithead for the holidays..... on: December 14, 2014, 10:02:07 PM
(we really need to do something about lost coins btw, no?)

No.

That's true. It really doesn't matter. It just makes bitcoin more rare for everyone else and even more valuable. This, combined with unlimited potential subdivisions of a single bitcoin, and there is no problem. Just don't be the idiot to lose your own money.

It's a bit more complicated than that.

From the 'functional' point of view it doesn't matter if 99% of bitcoins are lost or destroyed. But if that happened (can't imagine how, but lets assume it did) it would have some impact on the 'economical' side.

First of all, the block reward wouldn't scale down, so the miners would still be getting 25/block which is now much higher % of total bitcoins in circulation. If they continue to sell at the current price, the whole market cap (expressed in $) would shrink.

Even if we ignored the miners, the exchange rate would probably not scale-up as it should. So: value of 1 BTC goes up, but total market cap decreases.
5926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Which Major Company Announces Bitcoin Acceptance Next???? on: December 14, 2014, 08:26:32 PM
Maybe E-bay goes all in?

Unlikely, but it's a chance for all the ebay competitors to step in and increase their share of the market.

On the subject, if Dell notes a noticeable sales increase due to BTC acceptance, other tech companies will likely follow.
5927  Other / Meta / Re: The identity of theymos revealed? on: December 14, 2014, 08:20:35 PM
This is BS!  Why the fuck are they making Theymos
take time out of his schedule to appear in court
when he can simply email them the records?

That's what he probably did.

@OP, nothing has been "revealed". Theymos' identity was never a secret + he posted that himself:

Can you lock this pointless thread?
5928  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anybody here uses Shift or Xapo debit card? on: December 14, 2014, 07:59:03 PM
Xapo definitely needs to work on their PR game because not many in the ecosystem these days likely have a positive image of them. They got a lot of VC money and have seemingly not used it to make themselves occupy any significant useful space to corner the market like the likes of Coinbase or BitPay. I wonder how the vault side of their business is doing..

Agree. As far as I remember it all went downhill when they promised (or led people to believe) that there will be no fees and later introduced the fee structure that is far worse than most cc.

They should start repairing the PR by getting rid off the monthly service fees. Most will use Xapo as a back-up DC to be used once in a while, so being charged monthly, even if you didn't use it at all, will be seen as a massive rip-off.

doge is nice coin , i believe price is to the moon soon Smiley

So the next halvening will be the very last one, am I correct? Smiley

As far as I know: Yes.

From the next halving, in about 69 days, there will be final block reward of 10,000 and will stay there.
5930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: PokerShibes.com | The Place For Dogecoin Poker on: December 14, 2014, 07:44:22 PM

Is this the only thread on the forum? or do they have another one?
Can't find one.

This one is the official thread, but the OP hasn't posted anything since 30 June.

They are active on reddit tho. Check /r/pokershibes

5931  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anybody here uses Shift or Xapo debit card? on: December 14, 2014, 05:49:02 PM

Thanks for the info P... Xapo fees do not look pretty at the moment but will probably come down in time with the wider adoption and increased competition. By the way, if there is any other crypto DC you are using do share your experience if possible.

I don't use any bitcoin DC, I rather spend my bitcoins with the merchants that accept it.

There was a point when I considered getting Xapo (out of the pure curiosity), but the fee structure and the fact that the fees were higher than initially promised, put me off for now.
5932  Economy / Gambling / Re: Real Life, Live, House Bank Investment Comparison Table For The Top 8 Operators on: December 14, 2014, 01:41:34 PM
i'm thinking of investing a large amounts in prc dice but I don't know if it's worth the risk...

20% chance they run away within 1.5 month?
so not worth it I guess? you would need at least 25% return (1.25*(1-0.2) = 1) to have no average loss

PRC dice is around since early 2013, although they started as casino not just a dice game.

Both diceninja and dicebitco.in were very new sites when the shit went down. The risk of operator running away with the money is much less when site is operating for long time.

I have a small amount invested there, never had any issues with them other than some small delays with affiliate payments.

They'll be launching version 2.0 rather sooner than later.

5933  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anybody here uses Shift or Xapo debit card? on: December 14, 2014, 01:10:35 PM
I don't use any of those 2.

As for the Xapo fees, you can find them here:

5934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin mentioned in Horrible Bosses 2 movie on: December 14, 2014, 12:37:18 PM
Interesting, might this actually give Bitcoin extra exposure to non-tech people?

Let's hope the Bitcoin part won't get blurred or beeped out in some countries.

I doubt this by itself will help. People who don't know what Bitcoin is won't go looking just because of this. Especially for non-tech people, who will assume it's just some nerd thing. Censorship is the least of Bitcoins' problems.

That's not how it works. You probably won't go and research what the bitcoin is because of the single mentioning in some comedy movie. But if you hear/see bitcoin references from different sources, over long period of time, that builds the awareness. You never show any interest in researching bitcoin, but you're aware (to some degree) what it is and how it works anyway. That's always a good thing.

Ive been getting several requests for a tip jar. I didnt want to do this to avoid the impression I'm doing this for personal gain.
But since the ponzi pushers turned that argument around by saying it proves Im shilling for whatever company complies with my criteria, I might as well post an address.

15YNTMoAzTCve64rveEka75qCeJMZpmDCx

Anything I receive on that address will be used to further this cause, like doing signature campaigns to raise awareness.

That's a good idea. Sent you a small one. Keep up the good work!

And now... Where are ppl who said that doge will have pump before halving? ^^

Calm down, there's still plenty of time for the pump to come. 3 hours left to halving  Wink
5937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin mentioned in Horrible Bosses 2 movie on: December 14, 2014, 11:34:19 AM
It was just a matter of time.

There's an article on cryptocoinsnews:

Horrible Bosses 2 Features Bitcoin Cameo

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/horrible-bosses-2-features-bitcoin-cameo/

Quote
While preparing to launch the scheme, the three friends reconnect with Motherf—er Jones (Jamie Foxx), a seemingly street-wise character who spent ten years in prison for recording movies illegally. Jones uses his black market connections to buy prepaid cell phones, which the friends intend to use to communicate with the father of their now-complicit captive. How does Jones know the cell phone purchase was untraceable? He paid with “Bit Coins,” of course. However, Jones simply mentions the transaction in passing; the audience does not see him make the Bitcoin purchase.

Hello there,
You did not answer me via email
I have 3 tournament tickets Ð1,000.00, but why those tickets is not used when registering for tournaments, and used chips from my account?
Are tickets for a limited duration?
Thanks.

mmm777

I don't think they're watching this thread anymore.

When you register for a tourny, they take the chips from your balance, and only when the balance is too low they would take your ticket.

The best way to go around it is to take all your chips to a Ring Game table, then register for a tourny. When your balance is zero (or below 1000) they would take your 1k ticket instead. And then just leave the ring game table.

You can check all your available tickets on the website: 'My Account" -> "Check on your tournament tickets"

5939  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: best sites that gives free bitcoin ? on: December 14, 2014, 12:09:08 AM
hello is there a sites that a give a good amount of bitcoins for free ?

Most popular faucet (I think) is https://freebitco.in/

No one will give you large amounts for free, so don't expect much. But this one is a bit like a lottery, so if you hit a high number, you could get a nice amount (current max is ~0.57BTC).

And they also allow you to gamble your winnings if you wish to.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_Program

Just imagine what else is going on that we don't know about. The CIA basically seem to be the American SS/Gestapo.
Wikipedia has a nice list of these
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Covert_United_States_foreign_regime_change_actions

Good old American intervention

And yet, loads of people choose to believe that nowadays all the CIA do is just going through emails and looking for 'terrorist threats'.
