5921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung announce to accept crypto and blockchain payment on: July 24, 2018, 06:49:07 AM
I was a bit skeptical of this announcement but Yes, its true >
https://coinjournal.net/samsung-accepts-crypto-payments-in-three-baltic-states/

"... will be able to purchase Samsung smartphones, tablets, laptops, TV sets, and more with cryptocurrency."

"... accepting crypto payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Litecoin, Dash, NEM, and Steem."

This is great news indeed, it can only be positive for crypto and
may help to enfirce the fact that some crypto was designed as
a currency. Personally I would use this service by CopPay and
Samsung if it was available to me.
5922  Other / Meta / Copper Accounts on: July 23, 2018, 10:22:20 PM
Is it just me or are there very few Copper Accounts in operation?

I know there are benefits but the concept doesnt seen to be advertised enough
and it seems to be a rarity to see one eventhough some bounty programs
are looking for Copper Account holders.

Does anyone know how many users have aquired one?
5923  Other / Off-topic / Re: How useful is bitcointalk to your crypto journey? on: July 23, 2018, 10:09:15 PM
Its a public forum with differing points of views and varying opinions from a
World wide community so it can be difficult to figure what is real or fake but
overall the forum holds a wealth of information and opportunities, a very high
percentage of what i know about crypto originates from this forum.
5924  Economy / Speculation / Now Trending on: July 23, 2018, 08:58:40 PM
Isnt it amazing how just one thing can change the trend to something positive
even though there is a question mark hanging over it, ETF.

The talk in the forum has changed dramatically from "is this the end" to endless
prediction and speculation threads and general positivity.

Some of us have seen it before, there will be those who will over spend and
there will be those who will have missed out and stood on the sidelines.

There will be panic buying and panic selling, There will be FOMO followed by FUD
and some people looking for advice on what to invest in and others distraught
when the token or coin the bought turns out to be a dud, It all adds to the
drama of crypto.

As we potentially enter a phase of FOMO or a possible BULLRUN what advice can we share?

5925  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN start growing again !! on: July 23, 2018, 07:22:00 PM
The recent price increase is because of ETF approval on 16th of August. If the ETF approved we will reach a new ATH in this year. Otherwise we will see sub 5000 dollars.

wow you are putting a lot of faith in something that is practically useless and won't add/remove anything from bitcoin or its future. with or without ETF, bitcoin is still the same decentralized currency that has been rising for the past 9 years and it still has the same scarcity as always.

with ETF we will not see a new ATH this year and without it we won't see below the strong support at $6k either.

Personally i dont care too much about this ETF. failing to be approved last year didnt hold bitcoins
price back and i doubt it will happen this year either if it gets refused.

I recon we will see green on the way up to ETF and a short red blip after followed by green as more
and more people get into crypto.

There will be 3 groups, those who are already in, those who were in before and want to make good
their previous losses and the new arrivals so i predict $10k+
5926  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto replacing fiat? on: July 23, 2018, 06:16:03 PM
There are a lot of people who think that governments eventually will move from using FIAT to
using crypto like we all follow and like here on the forum, but it wont happen because it is totally
out of their control.

Governments will move from FIAT to their own centrally controlled digital currency and yeas that
will come with the government controlled "track and trace" system we dont like.
5927  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we really heading towards another financial crisis? on: July 23, 2018, 01:23:21 PM
There have been recent whisperings relating to a possible future financial crisis and
there are always factors at play which are close to causing a financial crisis.

Greece defaulting on its debt, another property bubble, quantitive easing, trade wars
have all been mentioned and I would love to know the thoughts of others on what
the negatives currently are.

5928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Litecoin recover? on: July 22, 2018, 11:15:18 PM
Litecoin is a solid investment, it doesnt really get wild swings in price
Rather it is a slow burner, not many people know this but Litecoin
performed better than Bitcoin in 2017

5929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whats your biggest Financial loss in crypto on: July 22, 2018, 02:02:51 PM
Most altcoins are risky business for investing in and technically speaking you dont loose
until you liquidate your investment when the value is lower than your buy in price.

For all ICO investments a true return only happens either when it launches on its first
exchange or potentially holding for more than a year or two.

So i havent had an investment loss because i still hold all I bought but the value of most
is massivery lower, obviously.
5930  Other / Meta / Buying and Selling BCT Accounts on: July 22, 2018, 09:31:42 AM
I have been over on the Goods board and notice someone selling 71 BCT accounts of various levels.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4713948.0

We all know it is frowned upon but not illegal but sometimes for whatever reason people want or need
to leave this forum or indeed want to liquidate their account because they do have a value for collecting
bounties.

So I was thinking would it be possible to implement a TEMPORARY restriction of some sort on a bought
account to prove the new owner is worthy in some ways.

Would we be opening the floodgates for buying, selling and swapping accounts?

Just a thought
5931  Other / Off-topic / Re: Someone told me those who invest in bitcoin are occults. on: July 22, 2018, 08:55:06 AM
I can vaugely understand where that lerson is coming from. If they religious they may believe that
investing in bitcoin will effect you in ways like greed and being part of a global criminal group because
so many people believe it is used only by criminals to launder and move funds globally.

Some people are very narrow minded and blinkered they just refuse to learn end educate themselves
to broaden their minds to the full potential of things.
5932  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-19] Billionaire Investor Says No One Wants to Buy Bitcoin on: July 21, 2018, 10:27:32 PM
"No one wants to buy crypto" is such a general factually incorrect statement its not funny.
There are a lot of peopke IMO waiting for the right sjgnal before they jump in.

If he is still scratching his head over bitcoin his opinions are worthless.

This is just more FUD mongering
5933  Economy / Economics / Re: Three Fundamental Questions of Economics: What DO You Think? on: July 21, 2018, 10:05:02 PM
I assume the OP is in relation to setting up a new crypto coin ot token.

What will the technology be?
What development team are going to create it?
and who are the potential users or clients if this technology to be, the target market?

If so they are 3 difficult questions as IMO almost all existing projects cover almost all potential requirements.
5934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The crypto capital in Europe? on: July 21, 2018, 09:39:02 PM
I also think Europe is becoming positive for blockchain and crypto, most of the leading
countries have a positive outlook.

I would like to highlight Spain as a leader also. They are trying to attract new blockchain
orientated business, here are a few links which promote it.

5935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hyped by miners? on: July 21, 2018, 05:48:38 AM
At the moment bitcoin is being used in a few different ways, some people are using
it as a currency to purchase goods and services and transfer funds to others.

Another section of bitcoin users are using it as a store of value or a hedge against
FIAT inflation or another financial crash kike scenario.

And others are using it as something to speculate with like the traditional main
stream stock exchange.

Bitcoin fees have been greatly reduced in 2018, it is actually much cheaper to transfer
funds even small amounts (micro payments) now than it was last year.
5936  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What's the best cryptocurrency wallet that you can trust? on: July 20, 2018, 10:52:18 PM
I am using multiple wallets, electrum, coinomi and exodus but I think the safest
And trustworthy of all is the paper wallet.

Like everything security is key and there are many things to consider even for
paper wallets, like storage and renembering passwords and these all play a
part is contributing to the safety of any wallet.
5937  Economy / Economics / Re: Taxation on: July 20, 2018, 10:34:53 PM
I would consider it to be good, taxation is necessary in society but it needs to be fair
and that is a totally different discussion.

The fact that Azerbaijan are applying taxes on crypto means they are not banning it
and that is positive, they dont seem to be applying any extra tax on it either just
Treating it the same as capital gains tax, this will be easy for any other country to
do also. It might also mske a minority if people think twice about cashing out to FIAT.
5938  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin break the $8000 margin before month end? on: July 20, 2018, 03:09:09 PM
The markets seem all of a sudden to be a bit tentative hovering below $7000.
As we get closer to the expected decision date in August for ETF the speculation
should become greater so the prices should go that way also.

I believe the markets will gain more traction as speculation increases.
5939  Other / Meta / Re: It's a struggle getting newbies to comment in basic information threads. on: July 19, 2018, 10:11:03 PM
I suppose if I had visited that thread I probably would have educated myself about bitcoin ports
but now I know its about running nodes it wouldnt interest me, much the same as mining so I
dont visit the mining board or the gambling board because i would have no input.

5940  Economy / Speculation / Re: ETF approving in August, how much will affect the price? on: July 19, 2018, 08:21:15 PM
I wouldnt get too carried away either, im a bit sceptical really. Before its approved i would
imagine they will be looking at the negative effects of approval, i dont know what those
negatives would be though if any other than giving more power to bitcoin and crypto at a
time when i think the establishment dont necessarily want to do such a thing.

I think there will be a lot of speculation on the lead up to approval and if its approved the
price could fall !
