5981  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin What's now ? on: June 21, 2018, 07:23:57 PM
While the Bitcoin price has recently been under the 7000, some investors decide to move away from it, while others see it as an interesting entry point.
What is the right thing guys ?

To only invest what you can afford to lose.

There is a trend happening that bitcoin is going to fail or fall so a lot a probably
Playing a waiting game but if you have a long term outlook the entry point at
5, 6 or 7k doesnt matter as much.
5982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin difficult to understand? on: June 21, 2018, 06:36:25 AM
I think the most difficult part that people have trouble understanding is mining
and the fact that coins are just created from "nowhere"

I find if the explanations are simple with simple language people can get their
head around the concept.

Phrases like:
Calculating transactions rather than Mining and algorithms
Secure folder on a computer instead of encrypted wallet

as an example.
5983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who Is Invested In ICO's Right Now? on: June 19, 2018, 10:47:37 PM
I have invested in a few ICO's to date with the last one being last year and so far
they are still in development stages.

There is in my mind a sort of gold rush scenario happening with ICO's where people
want to get in early, hoover up all the cheap tokens to dump them later when they
hit an exchange.

Sometimes i wonder if some people even consider the project and do proper research?
5984  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CRYPTO ARTIST sharing and exploring with Bitcointalk on: June 19, 2018, 08:47:59 PM
The miner piece and this last piece in particular are excellent and the gold work really adds
to the overall appeal to the crypto scene.

I think there should be a lot of interest from serious art collectors looking for crypto themed
work with these pieces.

I have been dabbling in art for the last 20 years and subject matter and inspiration is always
a struggle so i can really relate to these works, very well done and im looking forward to the
next artistic post, also would be interested to hear if there are some successful sales!
5985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Salary in BTC from the Israeli company Spot.IM on: June 19, 2018, 07:35:57 PM
I think generally speaking it is a bit too early for salaries to be paid in bitcoin and crypto.
This benefits the exchanges where the salaries are paid into because most people will need
FIAT to pay bills and other living expenses.

Receiving part of a salary in bitcoin would be my option if i was presented with it.
5986  Economy / Economics / Re: Why all people moan about the price of bitcoin? on: June 18, 2018, 10:02:24 PM
It will never stop, there will always be those people who want a lambo in super quick time
and bitcoin is the way in their eyes, but if you dont have patience there is a high chance
you will be punished.

I agree aboit the number of threads, bitcoin rising, bitcoin falling, is this the end? Is this
the beginning? When will we see $20,000 again? Prediction for 2018, when is lambo time?
I agree with others when they say a lot of people got in at the wrong time and are paying
for it now, some may even have borrowed fiat to get into crypto.

5987  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Narrowing the Portfolio on: June 18, 2018, 06:17:34 PM
So i can take the message from above to be real diversification means not everything in a portfolio should be crypto.

Next question should be if i want to add some Gold to a portfolio can I get it by exchanging crypto for it rather than using fiat?
5988  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What caused the run up to $19k and why the next run will be just as quick on: June 17, 2018, 07:33:27 PM
FOMO was a factor in the run ul to $19k, there was an expectation that bitcoin
would keep going and so a lot of newcomers took a chance and bought into
the hype. I know of a few college goers who bought into it around October
which was not a good time if you were getting in to ride the train unless you
sold in December.

Of course it all happen again but it might not be for another 2 years.
5989  Economy / Trading Discussion / Narrowing the Portfolio on: June 17, 2018, 09:48:20 AM
An idea of concept struck me to narrow my portfolio, why? I think the concept
of moving coins/tokens which may be low or non performers into the obvious
Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Monero reliables.

Has anyone done this already?
5990  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Scared Of Taxes on: June 17, 2018, 09:05:10 AM
In my country i understand that we can trade from altcoin to other crypto
as much as we like but as soon as we convert to fiat we pay 33% in tax just
the same as investing in any other stock market activity.
So yes i would be scared of taxes
5991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Country backed coins, a good idea? on: June 17, 2018, 01:06:43 AM
Its goint to replace cash in the future and its as good or bad an idea as fiat is.

If and when governments implement it people wont have a choice but to accept it
It will become the financial norm. I dont like it because all buying and spending will
be traceable by governments.

People will see the negative sides to this and move to bitcoin
5992  Economy / Speculation / Re: ICOs are the cause of recent bitcoin fall. on: June 16, 2018, 09:36:29 PM
In my opinion I am beginning to believe that all the funds that were suppose to get into bitcoins for it get to a higher price are diverted to purchase ICOs tokens and this might be the cause of bitcoin fall. If I have bitcoins, and I spot an ICO that has a potential to be the next great coin, I will probably sell my bitcoins for it, and this I think is part of the cause of bitcoin fall. What do you think ?

What you are referring to is like the crypto market is being diluted and instead of 10 or 100
projects to choose from there seems to be that much being created every week in ICOs which
does divert investment from bitcoin and other established coins to reduce market share.

This is not the sole reason but is probably contributing to bitcoins movement.
5993  Economy / Speculation / Re: This portfolio made 80% gain since 23.May 2017, still on: June 16, 2018, 07:21:22 PM
80% is indeed low i think. Anyone who got into crypto at the latest in January/February 2017
should be showing very healthy % gains. My portfolio is modest and im showing over 2000%
in my blockfolio portfolio
5994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: "We asked people what is the biggest problem in the crypto market" on: June 16, 2018, 02:21:59 PM
I too believe that price/market manipulation is the biggest problem for crypto sphere. This not only stops people from traditional assets to shift to cryptos, it also leads to panic selling and high volatility. Because of the less market volume, whales are manipulating the market heavily which go against the Technical analysis and hence, leads to panic and FOMO. This prevents people from trusting cryptocurrencies as an investment asset and that's why there is a slow involvement of new investors.

The manipulation leads to higher volatility which is good for traders to make their profits
but for more acceptance it is not good. Newcomers suffer from FUD and FOMO which
only adds to the volatility, for me volatility is a problem which also restricts bitcoin for
example being used more as a currency.
5995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency market - what are you doing in this market conditions? on: June 16, 2018, 07:46:55 AM
I have been adding to my portfolio holdings bit bit with small amounts at the dips for the last 2 months.
In this market it enables me to lower my average buy price of the coins it balances the higher prices i paid earlier in the year.

So im really doing 2 of the above poll choices buying and holding
5996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you long on, and why? on: June 15, 2018, 11:02:09 PM
Minus the obvious BTC for the looong term win, I'm going long on:

(1) Sia
(2) Dent

Here's why:

(1) They're both really cheap right now
(2) They both seek to unsettle massive players in established markets. Sia is smashing cloud storage players and DENT is disrupting data strongholds in mobile
(3) They are already delivering fantastic products

What are you long on, and why?

Im on long term hold for SIA also and have been for about 12 months,
the current market situation is being looked at negatively by some people
but its a great opportunity to average out those buy prices with bear market.

SIA has been mentioned a few times already, is a solid hard working project
with good forward moving developments,
I truly believe in its future along with my love affair with BTC and LTC.
5997  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can a blockchain system be destroyed? on: June 15, 2018, 07:21:14 PM
The only way i can see a blockchain being destroyed is if all mining stopped for long enough
for peoples computers to be so old they are replaced and that blockchain is long forgotten or
if the internet was permanently shut down.

Even if mining temporarily stopped as soon as it starts again block creation will resume from
where it stopped.
5998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency courses, thoughts? on: June 14, 2018, 10:37:56 PM
A course on crypto currency would really be too complex because there are
so many crypto currency projects disrupting different technologies.

Instead a course on blockchain would be worthwhile because all crypto currency
runs on blockchains.

Other related courses would be beneficial and related to crypto would be beneficial
like learning a computer language or learning about trading and technical analysis
these could help in understanding whitepapers of new projects and of course
help in understanding the markets a bit better.
5999  Economy / Economics / Re: Can human stupidity affect the movement of the market? on: June 14, 2018, 09:17:34 PM
I dont agree that its stupidity that is changing the markets its more about
inexperience and how the inexperienced react to news both in the mainstream
media, crypto media and forums. They suffer from FUD and FOMO which affects
the markets.

We have to expect this as part of the crypto scene. Anyone can get into crypto
whether they have experience or not and with whatever amount they want
compared to traditional stock markets.
6000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learning Technical Analysis on: June 13, 2018, 09:41:59 PM
Technical analysis is a very wide subject and has its own learning curve.
This forum is a great resource but its so vast it will take some researching
to accumulate the information required.

I suppose there are a couple of topics which feed into the technical analysis like:

Understanding the particular projects you wish to invest in
Keeping up to date with developments
Keeping up to date with market trends and what others are saying about those projects
Monitoring news
How to read market charts for trading

I would expect technical analysis in crypto to be related but probably not the
same as stock markets there might be information which can be applied to
crypto in this link > https://www.investopedia.com/university/technical/
