Only certain people count towards it.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are miners HODLers? on: August 20, 2014, 09:43:34 PM
People speculated on reddit that the price went up 7% because the difficulty went up 20% resulting in 20% less coins flooding into the market.
I argue that miners are holders as they already made a long term commitment.

Please help me find out the truth Smiley

Difficulty increase doesn't mean less coins are mined.  In fact, if there's a massive influx of hashrate more coins will be mined per hour than before, until the next difficulty adjustment.

Is there a website that doesn't have any pictures of Guy Fawkes on it that could truthfully summarize the findings and state them for regular people to read?

If you send me all the files and 2 BTC I'll send you whatever the addresses have.

I'll definitely buy all of them, I'd pay at least 1040400340 BTC.  Please send me the files, I hope they have a .exe extension, everyone knows .exe keys are the best type of private keys.

Yep that's it

There's a more updated thread on bct but I can't find it right now.  According to this article from March, around 25 million addresses have been used and 2.5 million have a balance in them.
70  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Calculate Bitcoins Mined Per Day on: August 06, 2014, 06:04:18 PM
Code:
Mining start date (fill in)
Difficulty  (fill in)
Hash Rate / GHsec^1  (fill in)
BTC/hr    = 25/((B2/(B3*1e9))*2^32/3600)
days at this difficulty (fill in)
BTC at this difficulty level     = B4*24*B5

Fill right with difficulty increasing by whatever you predict and you can set the days at this difficulty to be 12, 14 whatever you predict.

If you don't find any blocks then you're not really "securing the network", you're just running a regular node.
72  Other / Off-topic / Re: finally memorized my private key :D on: August 05, 2014, 08:04:22 PM
I think it'd be much more secure to memorize a 12 word seed.  Or to rewrite electrum/armory to use an 8 word seed and memorize that.
73  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: August 04, 2014, 04:49:31 PM

yeah that's it.  what should i do?

If you're really against reinstalling you can download the packages yourself and transfer them over:

74  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it possible to Hack a Server with all incoming ports closed? on: August 04, 2014, 04:42:58 PM
If you're securing more than $1000 you should get a real security person, not rely on free advice from the off-topic forum.
75  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: The PERFECT ponzi - guaranteed return of 10x your bitcoin. HOW? on: July 30, 2014, 05:17:40 PM
That's not a ponzi.

warfare protects everyone in the country from external threats, and tends to benefit the lower class the most as most people in the lower ranks of the military are from less wealthy families and they will receive additional pay during times of war (hazard pay, ect).

I don't think that dying or getting your legs amputated by IEDs qualify as benefits.  Wouldn't it be nice if we spent that money on education instead so that those poor people had a third option besides joining the marines or working at walmart?
78  Other / Off-topic / Re: Need original Windows 8.1 Pro Iso on: July 26, 2014, 03:39:01 PM
In case you didn't know, if you put it on a flash drive (with YUMI or similar) it'll install way faster than if you burn it to a DVD.
79  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Send the Illegals Back, Americans First! on: July 25, 2014, 04:34:21 PM
Even if we spent less on welfare we'd just spend more on warfare.
80  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just received a lot of core I7 computers, what to do next ?? on: July 25, 2014, 04:28:01 PM
Definitely mine altcoins with them.  I think good ones would be resumeCoin, unemployedCoin, lookingforworkCoin.
