61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one of those did you partake in? on: June 16, 2024, 12:20:53 PM
I am beginning to think that the only time a gambler gambles for fun is only when he gambles with what he can afford to lose. In this case, a gambler has $10,000 as his savings, and he gambles with $1000 down, he or she won't feel sad when they lose it (it means they gambled for fun). But if a gambler who has the same $10,000 gambles for above $5,000, and he loses all of them, the gambler won't be happy about his actions, and it might result in chasing of losses (which means he didn't gamble for fun). It means that both those that say they aren't gambling for fun sometimes gamble for fun, mostly when they risk an amount they can afford to lose. The actual time you gamble for fun is when you risk what you can afford to lose and not when you say you want to gamble for fun. However, a gambler might say he will gamble for fun and still end up not gambling for fun when he starts gambling. One can know a responsible gambler if he starts gambling.
well for me , the best way to decide if we are to have fun or to target winning is to put or to allocate the enough amount each time we gamble .
if you are to have fun then bring 100-500  dollars but if you are to  try winning for life then allocate thousand or more money but make sure to know when to stop .
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: June 16, 2024, 12:06:05 PM
Gambling have thought me a lot of lessons and from those lessons I have build long term experience and one of the things I most not do is to gamble when I am not in the right frame of mind, because when you are under any form of pressure, you can easily get carried away into believing that you may possibly make off some money from gambling by risking more that you can afford, this is what have lead many gamblers into bad situations such as addictions and debts on the long run.

Gambling should be based on fun and nothing more because regardless of how much desire we have, if that day is not our lucky day, you will still lose, which is why we advice that gamble with only an amount that you can afford to lose and be comfortable with.
I also adhere to the second point. This also came with experience and as soon as I realized this and accepted it, playing became really fun and I no longer chase jackpots or quick wins.Sometimes we play cards with friends and we only play for tiny amounts so that no one has any offense or disappointment after the game.
it is normal to look for winning mate but what we must prevent is to seek for bigwins because this will cut our contentment and will not enjoy the gaming , try not to be a loser all your life instead better to enjoy gaming and together with  chance of winning.
and also playing with friends is really fun but to lose is also part of playing.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Diversify memecoin investments? on: June 16, 2024, 07:45:45 AM
I would consider it pure gambling if I invested like you. I won't rely solely on meme coins, for me, one meme coin is enough, and I will invest 80% in altcoins. I believe we should focus on AI, gaming, or RWA kind of coins because the market trend is currently favoring them.
Your portfolio is yours and my portfolio is mine. I just want to add another perspective in which I would invest most of the money into bitcoin and only allocate maybe 40% to altcoins.

I would probably invest in Solana and then try to find an up and rising altcoin at least just one to see where it can lead me. This of course will require massive studying and considerations.
64  Economy / Economics / Re: Labor is really the birth of happiness? on: June 16, 2024, 07:30:46 AM

Actually I think it would be correct and reasonable to change the words of the teachers. That is: smart work instead of hard work.
If we have the chance to work without draining ourselves physically and mentally while also receiving the most benefits possible then I think we should do that. Working hard will sometimes get you nowhere because there are people who can manipulate and cheat their way to the top.

I am not saying we also should cheat our way to success but if there is an easier way to the top then let us not waste time and grab that oppurtunity.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will ecommerce websites start accepting Bitcoin as payment soon? on: June 16, 2024, 06:57:48 AM
But, why would the buyer pay huge transactions just to make a simple purchase? Bitcoin needs a permanent fix for this issue.
Unless a buyer is buying something of huge amount and they do not want the inconvenience and hassle of having to convert their bitcoin to fiat when making that purchase, I also do not see many people making small transactions for a huge price.

It will be good for the brand, but I don't think it would be very practical.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ecosystem will drive crypto mass adoption this year on: June 16, 2024, 06:40:39 AM
All of those will lie low for sure. That is because every cycle is different and all of those that might pump through the bull run will be lessened after.
I also think the same way.

I mean of course there is a huge chance that many of what was mentioned will see a mass adoption but I do not think it will be maintained forever.

Maybe some can add something to the community but overall these are all just trends that you  want to catch while they are still very popular.

Take advantage of what is in front and cross the bridge when we get there.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Concentrating heavily into BTC on: June 16, 2024, 06:26:45 AM
First, some context: I am in no way a Bitcoin maximalist — I think there's some value outside of Bitcoin, but ultimately BTC is my 'main' crypto holding and every profit I make with altcoins has always been exchanged back into BTC.
There really is some profit outside bitcoin however these altcoins are just way too volatile and risky than bitcoin so it is more difficult to reach your target profit while also making sure that you are not losing anything.
Quote
The thing is, people seem to expect the same thing in this cycle. Do I think it will be the same whereas pretty much everything goes up? I don't think so. Capital and attention are too spread out and too diluted.

Compared to 2017 — as if we didn't have so many coins/tokens already back then, we have far more coins and tokens now; we're talking huge multiples more coins/tokens. Money will be too spread out this cycle that price pumps will likely be heavily suppressed.
Exactly. There are way too many subsections under altcoins now all with different purposes. In one blockchain alone, there are so many projects associated so it is harder now to penetrate through the market.

Here will come the important decision of choosing the right altcoin because not all altcoins will feel an increase in price.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it proper for one to trade Bitcoin through a trusted friend ? on: June 15, 2024, 10:38:16 PM
Haven't nurturing this idea of trading a Bitcoin in the near future, but one question that's always come as a concern to me is. Is proper for me to trust a friend of that high magnitude ?

Trading is not an easy task to do, any time I see some traders trading for other investors and paying them interest, I usually cut cap for those traders because it is not easy. Before you can proceed to allow your friend trade for you, you are to note if they are actually an old experience traders. If your friend is just a normal non fully experienced trader, he may end up to lose your investment to Bitcoin volatility. Know who you are dealing with and their capabilities before you proceed.
Of course, his friend will ask for a percentage share if his trading is successful in making a profit, in other words the service (jockey) of someone playing it. Yes, paying attention to when he trades is much better, at least if we see directly how skilled or not he is at analyzing the market. It would be nice, apart from seeing him directly, we could also study before our eyes and gain knowledge from him before we entrust it to his friend. From there we gain a little knowledge and we continue to learn from various sources and combine what we have gained so far and then we try it. This method is much better than we entrusted to our friends.
I agree I think fully entrusting everything to a friend is the mistake here but if you really want to do it then the least you can do is at least try to learn. Maybe get your friend as a guide and use his expertise so you can learn and eventually do it all in your own without the help of anyone.

Cam across this news

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cn001yr88zgo

So a gentle reminder is to follow law with all your crypto related activities.
This type of stories is what makes other people and the government get their wrong ideas from. Well it’s not like the woman used crypto for money laundering but instead she used the profit she got from crypto and stored in wrongly in different assets.

Nothing really unlawful when it came to crypto. All related activities with crypto ended when she took it out and into fiat.
70  Economy / Gambling / Re: Warning DWC on 8bet.io , They Recently started limiting withdrawls on: June 15, 2024, 01:41:09 PM
I have been Gaming on 8bet since 2021 and have seen the site grow exponentially but as of recently, in the past 2 or 3 months they have started implementing features that limits withdrawls to a concerning extent, and at the same time making support harder to access which I think is very concerning.

Please be aware that I am not complaining about fairness or legitimacy of the gaming on 8bet itself, I am simply bringing attention to 2 examples of withdrawl lmitations that I have experienced.

"Weekly Withdrawl Limit" - Image 1  // Support litterally blocked me on telegram There has never been any sort of Weekly withdrawl limits,  nor ANY withdrawl limits since I started playing. Granted it's been 2 or 3 months since I won and tried to cash out, but today I did and this is what happened.

Looking to what OP's pointing here seems becoming the trend now? casino suddenly limiting withdrawals from what they are  putting
in the past  and we have something recently happen here.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5498532.0

Maybe this is also a  good way to help bitcointalkers to understand what is going on nowadays from each casinos though all
of our legit casinos here are not implementing such but what i was wondering those casino in questions are new in this forum.
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online casino gambling is more of profit chasers while land base is more of fun on: June 15, 2024, 01:26:29 PM
Wrong comparison OP, we cannot tell because everyone has a reason why they gamble, you cannot conclude unless judge from every gambler perspective of which will vary based off different reasons. When it comes to fun and Profit making in gambling, land or online casino is not a criteria, there is no such differentiation like those for fun should gamble here while those for profit should gamble here.
What OP's asking is our own perspective and decisions with our stands mate ,because some of us are Online casino lovers but others are also for Physical casino but that does not mean Online casino os for chasers and Land base is for fun.
you must choose of what you have to gather , but the best way is to gamble for fun and money , and accepted what will happen each time.

73  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's use the cryptocurrencies and blockchain techology for good idea on: June 15, 2024, 07:44:16 AM
And with that, one of it is real estate. I have no idea how others are diversifying with their crypto profits.
Well some people get their crypto profits and re-invest them back into crypto. I would do that if I felt that my profits in crypto were not enough and there are still projects out there that could double or maybe even triple my profits. If it is big enough, a little business can be good.

But it is one ideal where you should pour your crypto profits whether it is from memes or not.
Profit is profit wherever way they came from Wink
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why we need to buy meme coin? on: June 15, 2024, 07:19:58 AM
Memecoins will give better profit than bitcoin within a short period.
That is probably true but if we were to talk about long term period, bitcoin is definitely will be much more profitable. Bitcoin is reliable and a lot more stable than most memecoins if not most then all.

Memecoins usually do not survive after they reach some x amount of value. They dip and never get back up. Unlike with Bitcoin, if it dips it is temporary only and can go back up.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will increasing banking restrictions lead to a rise in P2P transactions? on: June 15, 2024, 05:59:45 AM
and more people are P2P than any other process
Since when?

It would be a beautiful World if this was the case.  But the numbers speak very loudly and contradict you.  People still prefer Centralized Exchanges over Peer to Peer Trading.

"Six percent of Americans say P2P payments are their favored choice of payment for everyday services. Debit cards (42%) and credit cards (26%) remain the most popular payment choices"

This data is from this article which already the headline is saying that many still believe p2p to be a scam and not safe. This explains how a lot of people still feel unsafe with p2p and prefers centralized institutions.
Quote
Even with sense lacking restrictions, there are still more people who would kneel for a dime than the ones who would never kneel.
These people will complain about extra restrictions but will continue to use these centralized banks
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Keeping your assets safe in the crypto space.. on: June 15, 2024, 05:26:47 AM
This often happens when on Telegram there are lots of fraudsters who send us messages disguised as group admins and so on. So, before clicking on a link, we should check it carefully, as well as when we receive an email because these two things make it very easy for them to find victims of fraud.
Clicking on a suspicious link alone is dangerous enough but once you click a link it might not be totally over yet. A website could just be imitating another legitimate one, but you would still have to input some information for them to actually hack you so when you click a link try to look for suspicious signs. If a website seems informal and is littered with spelling mistakes and random characters, most likely it is not legit.
Quote
especially if you are an airdrop seeker, you are very vulnerable to fraud by connecting your wallet to their website and without realizing it, your assets are lost due to phishing.
This is honestly one of the reasons why I am a bit skeptical of airdrops. Itis hard to flush out the scams and differentiate them from the potentially promising projects.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm new to the world of Bitcoin - a little late :( on: June 15, 2024, 05:01:35 AM
There are even people who use Bitcoin as an asset for old age.
There is no concept of too late because personally I am planning on holding until I get really old and I get to the retirement age. I plan to use the profit I will earn from holding in enjoying my remaining years and just making the most out of my life the best that I can.

I also hope that bitcoin is something I can pass down on to my children. or at least something that was made because of bitcoin like a business maybe. So until bitcoin is here, you are never too late.
78  Other / Off-topic / Re: How Safe is Tor for Journalists? on: June 14, 2024, 09:24:22 PM
Can we say even if you have the best operational security when you use Tor some three letter agencies have the tools and resources with which they can detect anyone who happens to be their target?
Tor and VPN add an extra layer of security and anonymity but we can’t conceal everything. For the agencies who have a target, they can do anything and will do everything to get to their target. Using additional layers of security will make it harder for these agencies but it would still be possible.
Quote
I also read some articles about the advantages/disadvantages of using VPN + Tor, do you think it makes sense in terms of increasing security or does one more server just slow down the surfing speed even more?
If you really value privacy and security then you have no choice because the usage of vpn and tor together decreases the speed with more and more layers added.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is Where Cryptomarketing Comes to Your Aid on: June 14, 2024, 09:10:29 PM
Gone are the good old days of Facebook it's time for Instagram, Tik Tok and X. These are the social media platforms that are being intensively used for different marketing strategy.
I agree that facebook is outdated and only old people use it most of the time. What’s really trendy among young people whom is our next generation is tiktok. The feature of tiktok that allows you to watch short videos gives more chances of people seeing your video and making it viral. It’s very easy to get traction in tiktok.

Even instagram is not that popular anymore. It’s full of overly edited and poorly hyped content.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which project/token brings you the most profit? on: June 14, 2024, 08:37:59 PM
But if we talk about the altcoins that will be beneficial in the future then I will say Notcoin, Eloncoin and probably Ethereum and Solana might follow but not sure.
No one is sure as we are all running on speculations and estimations. But Solana has a really great potential to be in the top cryptocurrencies even after a while. Ethereum with the etf approval might solidify itself in position so those two we can be sure of.

Memecoins like notcoin and eloncoin on the other hand are a little too difficult to place and guess where they would be in the future because they are far more volatile than the rest.
Quote
I have seen many testimonies of memecoins given people good profits but I am still afraid because the damage (risk) very high.
And any miscalculation then you are doom.
This is why investing in altcoins particularly in memecoins are not often recommended but people still want to take the risks no matter how high because they can make good profit if done properly.
