61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 29, 2024, 05:59:21 PM

For me it's a combination of factors, like you said, Ime Udoka bring his experience in this organization coming from Celtics (which he brought them to the Finals but lost eventually). And then Brooks, who could lead and probably this is what he is doing right now and doesn't want to create anymore distractions. And Jalen Green, highly touted coming in the NBA and supposedly should win the Rookie of the Year. But now everything is working out with them. The experience of Fred VanFleet and Dillon Brooks to lead the not so experience team right now.

Yes, the experienced of both Fred and Dillion gives them that matured approach on how coach Ime wants the system to work for the entire teams, we seen respect and trust with all the players who are inside the court, with that good development, this young team might continue to developed and their quest for being a playoff contender might be shaping now, I like the way they are bringing the competition and with all the players are contributing with the roles that they are being assigned, we will see more good games from this team, and maybe the chance of taking the last spot for the play-in still on the process.

I really like what the Houston Rockets are cooking in here. They hire a good coach, which is Emeka. Even though he has some issues with Boston, Houston has taken the risk of hiring him to run, build, and create a culture there in Houston after James departure. I think Emeka is one of the reasons why James' comeback to Houston is voided, since he wants to create something, a culture, so, if you think about it, signing Fred makes much more sense than signing Harden. Harden might become a diva to the time and might chuck all the shots and may steal the spotlight from the young players. With Vanvleet, he can be the veteran guard that can help the young players develop and be the voice in the locker room. They also sign Brooks, which can be an energizer for the team; he can add shooting and defense for the team.

Adding these veterans really boosts their roster because one of the reasons the Rockets sucked too much last season is that they don't have a veteran presence that can say what the wrongs and rights of the young players are. This season, Vanvleet and Brooks can call them out and discipline them.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: March 29, 2024, 04:50:07 PM
For me, I think you are just imagining things because you lost that bet. What if you bet smaller and didn't go all in? Would you be mad like this? I guess not. There are things that we can't control. Even though we are sure of our decisions and calculations, we still should have a safety net when we bet. You know that casinos are risky and kind of sketchy, but still, you bet all in. I think that part is your fault. Maybe next time you should be careful because we don't know; sometimes sh*t happens.

I always feel like that when I am betting, so I just bet small and safe so I won't regret it if I lose some money. Yes, sometimes I bet big, but not that much since I don't want to risk it.
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: March 28, 2024, 04:58:40 PM
Hi ,

From a personal experience that happened to me not long ago, and I want to share it with you guys.

After a hard day's work, and as usual every night before going to sleep, I make some bets on football matches and then i look for a game to pass some time. That night I wanted to play the crash game, knowing that I used to play it almost every day. I started playing and i was changing the amount of money, the bet from one round to the next, and the amount was very small, from 20 dollars to 40. After the start, a few minutes later, I did not understand what happened. I opened my eyes and saw the amount of 500 dollars written on the screen. When I looked closely, I found that I had bet on it and lost the bet for a trivial reason, which is that I made a mistake. When writing a number due to exhaustion and fatigue.
As I was not able to see clearly, to be honest with you, that drowsiness took over and I could not sleep that night as I felt very disappointed because that amount for me was too large to lose it in a game like this.

In general, I realized my mistake and no longer made my bets while I was tired. Concentration is the most important thing in any effort we make, and we must always be at full mental strength, as there are many factors that may affect your chances of winning or losing.

I hope everyone benefits from my experience, thank you

Yes, that is really a no-no when it comes to gambling. You should be in a healthy state, so your mind will be functioning well and you can bet and judge freely because you are not tired. Sometimes we bet unintentionally because our minds and bodies are not aligned. I remember last time, it was time to go to sleep, and then I suddenly wanted to bet just to let the time pass and get drowsy and fall asleep eventually. As soon as I wake up, I see on the app that I lost some money. The good thing is it isn't a lot of money, so we are still good to go.

So next time that we are gambling, we should consider the state of ourselves: are we in a good state or are we tired? If we are tired, it is better to rest and get back tomorrow when we are in
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: March 28, 2024, 03:21:09 PM
Well, sometimes it does make me excited, especially if it's early in the morning. A new day, a new hope for us to win in gambling. The energy is just so different when it is a new day. You have this overflowing confidence that you can win it all, and you are positive since it is a new day. But hours have passed, and I eventually feel anxious, especially if you frequently bet and you haven't gained any profit. You lose, then win, then lose, and win again. That kind of pattern is making me nervous.

But I think getting excited about gambling doesn't make you addicted to it. Just like you said, you are just having fun since you enjoy gambling. You can be labeled as addicted to gambling if you cannot control yourself; even when losing, you still gamble. If you are gambling within your salary and know when to stop, then you are still fine and safe.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling until you go totally broke on: March 27, 2024, 05:57:31 PM
It is sad to hear your friend go like that in gambling. He might not have planned the consequences that he might face if he goes broke or bankrupt, and that is the reason why he goes to his friends like you. Also, good job for you for lending him some money that he can use to survive the days before his salary comes. As gamblers, we should consider this kind of thing. Don't let us be blinded by greed, as we still need to live our everyday lives. Our lives do not revolve around gambling; we have our own lives too. So if you lose today, then you should be done, and let's get back to the next day. There are more days that we can try again.

Good thing for me; I haven't had a phase like that, like going broke because of gambling (and I don't want to experience it either). I always think of the next thing and always have a backup plan.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 27, 2024, 04:35:46 PM
Big win for the Lakers in double overtime. Milwaukee Bucks made a lot of mistakes, they are too leaning on three-point shots while they have the best attacker in Giannis. Beasley was not shy to keep on shooting threes even if they didn't really need it. This is where the Lakers took advantage of the opportunity to make it to the front and win the 2nd overtime.
That was a big upset considering the spread was -10.5. And without a doubt, Lebron was happy that his team won despite his resting from an injury.

Looking back, I thought this game would be a blowout win for the Bucks, as they led the Lakers 6–23 in the first quarter. Without Lebron and the Bucks is healthy, and with that kind of lead early in the game? Everyone thought it would be a win for the Bucks, but the Lakers climbed up late in the game. With a couple of clutch shots from Reaves and good defensive play from Davis, the Bucks had their chances to seal the game but couldn't get it done. The turning point of this game was when Giannis missed his free throws, and after that, the Lakers never looked back and won the game.

It is a good team effort; everyone has their own contributions to make to win this game, and with the next 5 games of the Lakers are the Grizzlies, Pacers, Nets, Raptors, and Nets. I can see them winning this all; that's five more wins to add to their current record.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 26, 2024, 03:52:44 PM
The Boston Celtics had a legendary regular season and are now 57-14. I think it's risky to bet on their last matches, because they can rest the main players to enter the play-offs fresh. They still have a solid team because their rotation is wide, they can win the remaining matches, but you need to look at the odds carefully before placing a bet. Everyone from Tatum to Kornet played well during the season. I see their way to the finals in the East open. In any case, the teams in the East other than Boston are almost very close to each other, both in terms of strength and winning percentage.

I can see them winning it all this year, even before the season starts. What they did in the off-season was really great. Acquiring Holiday, which is an upgrade to Marcus Smart, and getting Kristaps from the Wizards without giving up much of their assets is really a great off-season move from the Celtics. They really did a great job to fill those missing pieces after getting beaten by the Heat in the in the last playoffs. With a great roster this season, there should be no reason to lose, and if they end up not getting the chip, I really don't know. I guess they deserve the hate they should be getting every season.

We all know that the Celtics have a history of choking in the playoffs, so let's see if they will continue to choke. The very far they reached in the playoffs was way back when they faced the Warriors in the finals. The champion of that final should have been them, but they got cooked by the vintage performances of the Warriors and Steph. Looking back at those finals and comparing the roster to the present Boston, today's Boston is much more stacked, so the Celtics should be winning the finals this year.

68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 26, 2024, 02:41:20 PM
It is true that there is no fun in losing the money that you worked hard for. But I think the fun is when we are predicting the outcomes and the ups and downs of emotions when gambling. For example, in the casino, when you are gambling, there are times that you are on the roll, and those kinds of moments give us the happiness to gamble more, and with that, we keep on gambling. Whether you win or you lose, you will have this feeling that you are wanting more, so I think that is the fun of gambling.

Another example is sports betting, where betting on your favorite team is much more exciting than just watching their game and wanting them to win. If you bet on your favorite team, it will give you more emotions than just watching them. So I think that is the reason why some gamblers say that gambling is fun; it really depends on how you perceive gambling.
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun and not a way of making money on: March 25, 2024, 04:09:05 PM
It really depends on the person you are asking; we are different on this kind of question. But for me, of course, I gamble because I want to gain more money, risking it and hoping it will grow. Having fun in gambling is not the priority; maybe the next reason why you are gambling is because, not gonna lie, gambling is indeed really fun; it is like playing games, and predicting the outcome is very enjoyable, especially if you are in the role. Also, I think it is one of the things that we think whenever we lose, just to mend ourselves, we will say, "It is fine; we just gamble for fun," and after that, we will feel good.

At the end of the day, I think most of the gamblers gamble because they want more money, not because they are just gambling for fun.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 25, 2024, 03:24:48 PM
Offensive battle, LA LAkers versus the Indiana Pacers. What a score! That almost went to 300 points total. 5 points shy.
And because of that, the stats of every player are filled. And thanks to that I won this.

Crazy stats for Anthony Davis 36 points and 16 rebounds, he dominated the painted area and underneath the rim, that is where he got most of his points.

Even with monster stats of Lakers including AD it’s really surprising to see that score of Pacers is just 5 points lower than Laker.

It is kind of frustrating that the Lakers just won by 5 points. They had a big lead; I think it was around the 3rd quarter when they subbed Bron out. I actually did not watch the game after that since I knew it would be a sure win for the Lakers because they had a big lead. Then hours passed when I saw the result: the Lakers just won by 5 points. It is one of the Lakers issues that they should fix, especially since playoffs are near and teams are unpredictable when playoffs come. But anyways, it was still a good game for the Lakers, as 5 Lakers scored in double digits and 4 of them scored 25+ points, and this is the first time the Lakers scored 150 in a single game after many years!

I hope they can continue this pace, win the play-in games, and be tough in the playoffs.
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you seen gambling advertisements on TV? Opinion. on: March 24, 2024, 05:03:17 PM
What you need to do in that situation is let them be exposed to that kind of advertisement on TV. For sure, your kid won't be asking questions right away after watching those ads. Maybe after several times, your kid will be curious what that is, and as a parent, you should be answering them and educating them about gambling. Tell them the good and bad effects of gambling, but to be sure, since they still don't have the judgment, implement more frequently the bad result of gambling, so over time, when the kid grows up and he can already decide what is good for himself and still chooses to gamble, then it is fine since you became a good parent and tell them the pros and cons of gambling.
72  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which is more saving for travelling? Public transport or personal vehicles? on: March 24, 2024, 04:32:15 PM
Saving is the most rewarding thing rather than bonuses, perks, and benefits. So for everyday living I would like some opinions or techniques that can save money while travelling to work, school, or business. You can add some money-saving tips other than travelling efficiency. I know I have read some articles about this but I want to know from real people in here.

For me, commuting or using public transport is much cheaper than having personal vehicles. In public transport, you are just paying for the fare from point A to point B, and that's it; no more worries for you. On the other hand, having a personal vehicle will cost you, of course, the initial cost of buying the vehicle, whether it is a motorcycle or a car. A personal vehicle can cost you fuel too since you are the one that is using it. You are obligated to fuel your vehicle. Also,  since you are using it frequently, it should have maintenance and repairs. We don't know if there are hidden or unexpected things that need to be fixed. Another thing is insurance. Of course, if you buy a car, it is covered by insurance. The last thing that vehicle owners need to know is the parking fee. Since it is a private vehicle, you need to pay for the parking.
73  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Feelings on losing the match and the bet on: March 23, 2024, 04:43:28 PM
Of course, if I bet on my favorite team and it losses it will make me sad. It is like two stone was hit on your head, your fav team losses and your bet losses too. Gambling makes the match more intense and enjoyable, since you have a bet on your favorite team, it feels like your in the team too and you will support them with all of your heart. Yes, it is frustrating when the team lose but it is a different feeling when they win, they win and you win too. Specially if the team they are against is much stronger and in the high ranking comparing to your favorite team.

74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: March 23, 2024, 04:11:20 PM
Gambling your money is already a type of risk; whatever you do with your money, whether you invest it or gamble it, it is a risk. You just need to be disciplined enough so you won't lose all the money you have. Rich or poor, you are just the same since they are gambling their own money. The difference is that the rich do have money, or we can say that he has a handful of money since he is rich. If he loses, then it is fine since he can still live a normal life because he is rich.

It really depends on how he manages and how he gambles. If the rich person gambles a lot of money and doesn't think that when he gambles, in a matter of time he will be broke, the same goes for the poor gambler. Being poor, he should have priorities, like things he needs in order to live. If he ignores those priorities and continues to gamble the money that should not be gambled, then he is ruining his life.

For me, it really depends on the person's mentality and how he gambles.

76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling between the past and nowadays on: March 22, 2024, 05:26:13 PM
We have all noticed the changes that have occurred in gambling over the past years, as gambling in 1990 or before is not the same as it is today due to several factors, including:
-Ease of playing and more casinos.
-Inventing new tools and methods of playing.
-Online gambling and the emergence of easy-to-use applications that support all games.
-The method of advertising has changed, becoming more effective and attracting more players.
-The presence of liquidity due to the increase in the amounts that players bet.
-Provides more profit opportunities..

In your opinion, what are the factors that brought  change in the field of gambling? What is your outlook on it in the future?

One of the reasons is the evolution of technology; it really helps us every day and makes our lives more convenient. It is evident that, mostly in our everyday lives, we are assisted by technology. So why not use it for gambling? With the rapid rise of technology comes the rise of online gambling platforms that offer a vast variety of activities they can do with the touch of their hands, like casino games, sports betting, and poker. All of these games can be done from the comfort of their homes using their devices. With this, players can gamble anytime and anywhere. Additionally, the integration of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology transformed payment methods and security in the gambling industry. Another thing we can add is the live dealer games, which provide a more authentic experience to the users by allowing them to interact with real-life dealers via live video stream.
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 22, 2024, 04:50:03 PM
And the Rockets win streak continues.....

Though I don't expect too much they'll even make it to the play-in but they are just doing what they need to do. Ever since Sengun got injured it seems like Green's performance has been so consistent too, and he is leading the win in most of this win streak I guess.

I don't know.. but I have a feeling that we can't touch this Rockets ( bet against) now that they are on a big run. Warriors should be worried with what is happening as slowly the Rockets are inching close to them, we don't want to see a championship team unable to make it even in the play-in tournament, that's a confidence killer for Curry and the crew.

If Jalen Green is only this consistent every time he steps on the floor, rockets may be in the upper seed. We all know that Jalen has the skills to be the offensive guard that the Rockets want, but sometimes he chucks too many shots, resulting in him being inefficient. All he wants are highlights and to score. I hope he becomes mature next season so we can see the jump that we all want to see from him. Others are saying that he is a bust and the G-League program is a flop, so him making them wrong is the story we can see next season for the Rockets. Also, I like how Emeka Udoka is coaching this team; I hope he can translate to this team what he did in Boston.

Can the Houston Rockets join the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Timberwolves in the upper standings next season? Let's see.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 21, 2024, 06:54:13 PM
One thing I do wonder is the Rockets, looks like they are on a great winning streak and getting closer and closer to Warriors, just 2 win difference, and I think that can be closed with how many players Warriors are missing. Could it happen? I do not know, they played some easy games, and the end stretch of their games looks like against weaker teams. If they can do that, it would be the first playoffs since a while, since the whole Harden era, and these are still very young players, so that would be awesome for them to get that experience.

Plus, Alperen may come back by that time, and if they do that then they could actually play well. Not saying that they will get the position, of course they may not, but at least it looks like we are going to see them end up having a chance, should be very good to see.

If they continue winning games and Warriors continue to struggle there's still chance that they can reached the play-in and yes it was way back Harden Era when they've last compete in the playoffs,  they added new sets of players who contributed well  though their rally might be not enough for the season but like what you said they are still composed of young generation stars and if they keep this squad and there's no changes that take place they can matured more and start moving forward for their chase to win again the title.

Rockets entering the playoffs would be a great experience for them and can also be viewed as an achievement since they are labeled as a rebuilding team and are expected to miss the playoffs. So their participation in the play-in can already be considered a success. Txhey can use that eperience to boost their team in the next season. Who knows, we might see the jump that people are waiting for with the Rockets in the post-Harden era. With Alpren Sengun leading the team, Jalen Green's offense, and the veteran leadership of VanVleet and Brooks, I think they might be the next team you might watch next season.

Also, I really want Sengun to win Most Improved Player of the Year, but with his injury, the chances of him getting that award are now very slim. Maxey, who is an all-star this year is might be the one who wins it.
79  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you stake it all put of over confidence in your club on: March 21, 2024, 06:36:58 PM
Have anyone ever had confidence in any match that he was willing to be huge amounts to back up the confidence in a match that features his club. A friend of mine recently shocked me with how much passion and confidence he had in his club, man u vs liverpool  that happened on Sunday I guess was a very hard match cause Liverpool was already stomping 0:2 to man United but my friend was telling that man United won't lose the match, so I told him that if he has much confidence that he should stake life, shocking to me he went on and staked 5k on man United win to qualify which was about 7 odds at that time, and yeah it turned out right for him. Can any one do this or was it a foolish move?

Your friend is a crazy man; no sane person will do that unless he is really that confident that his favorite team will win. Personally, I would not do that since it is very risky. Even if the opponent of my favorite team or club is the lowest seed, I still wouldn't do that. Maybe for a lower bet, I would, but with that amount of money? I would probably just keep the money. I think that is the essence of gambling; you do not know what the outcome of your bet will be; you just need to keep faith and hope that your bet will hit. This gives us the thrill and nervousness since a lot of money is on the line, and that is how some of the gamblers view gambling as fun.

Anyway, congrats to your friend for winning. I hope that he won't be greedy and do it again  Grin. Just be careful next time. If that bet did not hit, he might be depressed right now. Lucky for him, the team won.
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it? on: March 20, 2024, 04:39:33 PM
It really depends on who you are going to ask; some lose money, some win. Everyone's mentality is just different, and everyone's experience in gambling is different, so we cannot say that gambling is solely for losing money or for gaining money. What you can do is be a responsible gambler, so you won't experience the "losing money" part. First, don't gamble what you cannot afford to lose. If you gamble a lot of money, this can cause you stress, and your eagerness to get back your money will eat you. This will create a cycle, and that cycle will keep you losing money and you'll end up in debt.
