61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My sweet and bitter experience about bitcoin on: August 11, 2018, 09:46:34 AM
I started my cryptocurrency journey around July 2017. I bought some altcoins;  verge; dodge, Xrp Siacoin on Bittrex and left some on bitcoin. It was a roller coaster for me around November to December 2017, particularly with verge, my crypo investment of just about $120 grew to a little bit over $3,000. I never new on time until I opened my bittrex. It was wao!

I took out some money since I was in need about $1000. With the euphoria of bitcoin suppasing $20,000, so I watched until my investment shrinked from about $2000 to $1500, then $1000, I decided to take out some little more until I had about $800 left.

That amount have shrinked further to about $450. The worst came when I took a third of the amount to buy Mithril coin when the news came that it won a vote to be listed on binance,  and suddenly it was disqualified,  and the price have falling like packs of cards, more than 50% right now.

Its a question of if I had known, I would have withdrawn the $3000 the moment I saw it on my bittrex account. Who can tell the future?

But I am wiser now.

Does anyone have similar experience

We all have sweet and bitter experience in bitcoin but the thing is we should not give up even there is a downfall or rising of price. Not all the times crypto favors in us but we have to be patient so that we have good experience in bitcoin.
62  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you still holding when market price falls abnormally? on: August 11, 2018, 07:13:52 AM
I like to know your stand against the current market price falls down that relatively almost in the danger zone for the crypto holders if they still hold their crypto it might be one day that they will going to lose all their money. My ideals is different i had to sell it though it means that i had to lose some of my money. Anyway i could invest again when market price recovers but not for now seeing crypto market looks so bad. Will you still hold?

Of course I will still hold my bitcoin until the price become stable and when I am satisfied with the price. We should have patience in waiting and we don't need to panic because we all know that the price of bitcoin will be better.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the world ready for cryptocurrency? on: August 10, 2018, 02:05:01 PM
Although there are a few countries who uses bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies now, I cannot help but wonder if the world is truly ready for this digital currency? It will certainly be hard to replace all currencies in the world but it could happen in a decade or so, perhaps even less? Still the question is, is the world ready? I think if this happens it might be one of the biggest changes that will happen worldwide.

I think that world is not yet ready for this digital currency because many people still don't know this digital currency. Even though many people knows this type of currency, there are still people who needs to know this currency to be prepared if changing of currency happens.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as World Currency... on: August 04, 2018, 11:23:33 AM
for those that still actually think that bitcoin is going to be the monopolistic future world currency

this is how it will look like,

marketing slogan looks also familiar with the mindset of many bitcoin supporters.

We don't know what will be the currency of the world in the future but I think it is good idea that bitcoin will be the world currency in the future. I think every country will have a good economy because of the bitcoin as world currency.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What you do when someone say bitcoin is illegal thing? on: August 03, 2018, 03:29:31 PM
Most of the common people think that bitcoin is used only by hackers and criminals, even one of my friend said that it is used by hackers when I am telling about crypto currency to him.Later I explained what is bitcoin and other crypto currencies but still he confused,he can only get what is bitcoin when he research about himself.

In this situation how can we explain that what is real bitcoin?

When some says to me that bitcoin is illegal thing I will disagree to him/her and I will recommend that people to research first before coming up in that statement. We all know that bitcoin is legal. I will clarify to that people about bitcoin.
66  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin will not hit 20000 soon? on: August 03, 2018, 02:17:10 PM
Bitcoin's growth began in early 2017 and then it touch 20000. Bitcoin's largest growth is due to the ability to trade with tether dollar. With this growth, a huge growth in ICOs appeared. Nowadays about 30 ICOs are added to the market. This huge volume of ICOs, has taken the power of bitcoin growth. Like weeds next to a tree. Bitcoin will not grow until ICOs exists.

We don't know what will happen in the future. We can't predict the price in the future but we all hope that the price of bitcoin will reach 20000. If that happens, many holders of bitcoin will sell to gain profit.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is it the Future of Banking ? on: August 03, 2018, 01:25:26 PM
i was thinking about the Bitcoin and it's Future in Banking . can it remplace money in transactions ?

I also think that bitcoin will be the future of banking because as of now many people are investing in bitcoin than in the bank. I think that banks are scared in bitcoin because there is a chance that this will happen soon.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: YOU HAVE TO BE A DIE HARD RISK TAKER TO EXCEL IN THE CRYPTO INDUSTRY on: August 03, 2018, 12:47:19 PM
Risk Characteristics
Will Bates was very good with math and science. He felt he was wasting his time in his college classes. Society's message was that a college degree equaled success, but Will wanted to be able to take a different path to achievement. He had some basic characteristics of a risk taker.

Heightened expectations: This is when a manager has goals that can be unrealistic and unattainable to some, but which the risk taker feels very confident will occur. Will felt the drive to start his own technology business. The product was an advanced computer. He was determined to create the prototype himself and dropped out of college to complete the task. He did all the parts of the product development from design and operations to production and even marketing the final prototype. He eventually realized he needed a support team and hired a basic staff. He treated the staff professionally but demanded excellence.
Constant learning: This is when a manager refuses to rest on his or her past performance. They are always researching, testing and looking to learn. Will viewed life as a constant learning journey. He spent years developing his prototype and now constantly works on new technological improvements of his computer.
Embrace change: A manager who embraces change looks forward to a constant flux of new information and is always trying for improvements. Will was willing to quit college, while his friends were graduating and pursuing a career. He lived close to poverty to develop his computer. He was also willing to change his goals in regards to his company throughout its development. Lastly, he is constantly altering his company's product lines and introducing new technological gadgets.
Trust instincts: Many risk takers make decisions based on both intelligent data and a gut instinct. It's a feeling that they have regarding a decision. It usually isn't the safest decision or the most practical, but it can lead to great risk and success. When Will finished his first prototype, he invested all of his money into launching his business. If the business failed, he would have been destitute. Fortunately, his gut was correct, and his computer was a huge success.

Above are the characteristics one need to be a successful investor,  most folks on this platform need to know life itself is volatile,  non of us knows what will become of us in the next five hours,  i would mortgage my house over and over again to invest on dip BTC i bought for $5230.

This industry belongs to the braveheart and the die hard risk takers

For me, risk taking is good but I think it is not good to be a die hard risk taker to excel in crypto industry. It is okay to take risk to grab a good opportunity but to always take risk is not good. We have to understand first the situation before taking risk.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it too late to invest in bitcoin? Is it a bubble? on: July 29, 2018, 01:05:31 PM
The answer is: NO

You’re not the only one who has this feeling. As someone who got into cryptocurrencies 2.5 years ago (It also seemed too late back then), I think you shouldn't spend your timing regretting on opportunities you missed.

Instead, you should make your first step ASAP and learn by getting involved.

 What should you do?

Stay tuned - Read a lot about the different cryptocurrencies and try to catch up with the latest news.

Know where you are at - Try to understand how this market works and the main technology behind it Understand the Blockchain in Two Minutes

Trust yourself - 90% of what you read on the internet is bullshit, follow your instincts.

I hope it helps,
GuerrillaBuzz

For me, it is your choice if you want to invest in bitcoin. Anytime you can invest in bitcoin but it is still in your decision if you want because bitcoin is always there to accept your investment. And bitcoin is not a bubble.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DONT INVEST IN BTC IF YOU CAN'T OR AFRAID OF TAKING RISK on: July 29, 2018, 06:24:45 AM
This life is full of risks and indeed we are all taking part of it. No one knows Satoshi Nakamoto but people have invested in BTC. In our education we even take risk considering the fact that after school you might not get work.

Over the past months people have been complaining about the price of BTC and I think we should all know something very important. If you are a kind of person who is afraid to take risk. I saw some post talking of anxiety about btc investment and was like if you  can't take risks just leave the crypto world cos you might end up getting  Hypertension Grin.

Check this post out guys- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4706131.0
                                      https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4469252.0

Hope I am right guys? Any comments and suggestions.

Yes, don't invest in bitcoin if you are afraid of taking risk. In bitcoin when you invest your money you gamble the money that you invest its either you will gain profit or not. You need to take risk when you invest.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung: Smartphones are the Most Secure Device When Using Cryptocurrency on: July 27, 2018, 02:28:12 PM
According to Samsung, the $290 billion behemoth which dominates every major industry in South Korea, smartphones are the safest device to use when transacting using cryptocurrency

Smartphones Over Laptops

Smartphone wallets such as Blockchain and Jaxx are the go-to applications the majority of cryptocurrency users utilize to send and receive payments with digital assets.

Joel Snyder, a senior IT consultant, a contributor to Samsung Insights, explained in a recent paper that smartphones are significantly more secure than laptops and other devices, because of the presence of the Trusted Execution Environment(TEE)

Most smartphones have a native environment called the TEE, which operates as a separate execution environment with its own memory and storage, isolated from the device. Hence, not even the operating system (OS) like Android can reach into the TEE and potentially initiate alterations in its memory.

In an event of a hacking attack or a security breach, attackers cannot possibly break into the TEE and attempt to steal data such as the private keys of cryptocurrency wallets because the TEE exists completely independent of the device.

On laptops or computers that rely on conventional persistent storage units such as a hard disk or an SSD, a hacker can easily break into the storage and steal valuable financial information, including data pertaining to cryptocurrency wallets, that could lead to the loss of funds and holdings stored in digital assets.

Snyder explained:

“This is why smartphones have an edge over laptops and desktops for cryptocurrency wallets: without the benefits of the hardware-based TEE, the keys are more vulnerable. There is a significant caveat: a naïve wallet developer might choose to simply store the keys on the normal internal storage of the phone, in which case there’s little additional protection from using the smartphone platform. Or the wallet itself might be malware, in which case all bets are off. But with the right wallet leveraging the benefits of smartphone TEE, there’s no place safer to store your money.”

I agree that smartphones are the most secure device to be when using crptocurrency. Smartphones has the ability to secure your accounts and also in smartphones you can avoid visiting some websites and there is only few ads in smartphones.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook Is Banning Ads for Bitcoin and ICOs on: July 27, 2018, 01:09:49 PM

https://www.coindesk.com/facebook-banning-advertisements-bitcoin-icos/

"Social media giant Facebook has unveiled a new policy that bans advertisements involving bitcoin and initial coin offerings, among others..."

It is a sad news to hear because the ads that displayed in Facebook helps to give knowledge in people about bitcoin. I hope it will not implement because maybe the Facebook campaigns will damaged.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOOD NEWS!!! South Korea on BITCOIN on: July 27, 2018, 12:26:21 PM
The South Korea taking their move on regulating Bitcoin.

The government’s stance and actions thus far indicate an interest in encouraging blockchain technology and the growth of cryptocurrencies, but not at the expense of safety and security. Stated one trade ministry official:

"Any major reversal in policies is unlikely, but the government seems to believe a gradual shift in attitude toward crypto-based assets is needed. What regulators should do is figure out how to regulate them properly and prudently as Korea needs to put more emphasis on blockchain technology after obtaining knowhow and understanding of the possible flipside of cryptocurrency trading."

It is a good news to hear for the crypto world. Another country accepts bitcoin and now the people in South Korea are allowed to invest in bitcoin. Bitcoin will grow more because of this. I hope all country allow bitcoin.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is For Risk Takers on: July 26, 2018, 11:54:00 PM
I seen lots of people are panic and selling and spreading FUD . But based on my experience people who really dare to take risk only won here .
Wise and daring investors are still searching for good potential coins to invest while its really cheap were greedy people are panic and spreading FUD
Finally people who dare to invest bitcoin even when the price of 100$ they created fortune here . Its completely daring and vision not at aall luck . SO if you are having real vision and want to make milestone in life then be here in crypto and support other wise please quit .

For me, most of the time people involves in crypto are the risk takers. They gamble their money to earn profit from investing. I think crypto is for risk takers because if you don't risk your money, you can't earn profit.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Real life usage of bitcoin on: July 26, 2018, 03:06:44 PM
Don't you think price blast not correlate with its real life usage since its inception?

Its hoarded for speculative purpose but how many major cities in the world have even its ATM?

I mean we all the time correlate its value with fiat currency then buy/take then what's its purpose in my day to day life?

Who will accept it in store when confirmation time is so long.

For me, the real life usage of bitcoin is in paying system. We can use bitcoin in our paying system. It is easy to pay bills using bitcoin. Another thing is the trading. We can buy bitcoin and hold it then sell it when the price is high.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WIll bitcoin be the point of reference for other cryptocurrencies for ever? on: July 26, 2018, 02:36:47 PM
As we see the USD ($) as a point of reference and determiner of value for most national currencies on the international market, will bitcoin as the mother of cryptocurrency be the determiner and reference point for the value of other crypocurrencies with time. I have witness that all newly coins aspire to get to where bitcoin has gotten to and even beyond and it baffles my mind that for sure will there be a potential coin to by pass bitcoin and serve as a reference point.

Well for me, There is a chance that bitcoin will be the point of reference for other cryptocurrencies in the future but we can't predict the future. So we will see in the future if bitcoin will be the point of reference of cryptocurrency.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHY DO MOST PEOPLE FORGET BITCOIN SO SOON? on: July 26, 2018, 01:24:57 PM
Anytime i see some members of this forum asking "Is Bitcoin dead"?, or "Is this the fall of bitcoin" i just become speechless because it is so shocking to hear that within just six months when bitcoin improved the financial status of people last year without any hard sweating people have forgotten about it so soon. I now understand the saying that "Men forgets easily". Well i can't really blame them but I know the few Real Crypto Enthusiasts like myself still believe in BITCOIN and we are going to keep investing in it because we know that the its value will rise with time.

For me, I think most people forget bitcoin soon because there are many topics in this forum states that bitcoin is dead. So many people are believing that bitcoin is dead and they forget bitcoin. But I believe in bitcoin that it will rise soon.

79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why did the government want to kill Bitcoin? on: July 22, 2018, 02:20:36 PM
as we know, many governments in the world are banning bitcoins and here I have my own why the government want to kill Bitcoin, because I think Bitcoin can be used for terrorist financing, money laundering, illegal weapons purchases, crime and tax evasion. therefore the government forbids Bitcoin, because Bitcoin transactions are difficult to trace so it is only natural for me if the government is very worried about Bitcoin and many country banning (block) Bitcoin.
but this is just my opinion, so if I am wrong I apologize.

Thank You.

In my own opinion, I think government wants to kill bitcoin because it is decentralized. They don't receive tax from bitcoin. Another thing is they are scared because maybe bitcoin will replace the public government banks.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is DEAD on: July 22, 2018, 07:34:00 AM
A couple days ago I posted here because of a transaction stuck in the void for which I paid 30 dollars fee.
Now, one hour ago, I sent a transaction with a 130 dollars fee.
ONE HOUR, STILL ZERO TRANSACTIONS, 130 DOLLARS FEE.
I'm sorry to write this, but Bitcoin is DEAD.
I've been a defender of it up until now, but we've gone too far.
Who the hell is going to buy Bitcoin when the word will spread?
When people will try to get their Bitcoins from the exchanges, they'll meet this reality, and Bitcoin will be dead in DAYS, after the word will begin spreading.
Just please don't go on BCH, let's try to move onto better technologies like Byteball.
BTW can anyone tell me what should I pay to move my Bitcoins now?
I have now 4 Bitcoins stuck in the void.

For me, bitcoin will be never dead because it is still running right now even though the market price is low. Don't pretend and spread the news that bitcoin is fake because it affects the bitcoin itself. It pulls out the investment of the people who wants to invest in bitcoin.
