61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How bad is breathing in air from GPU's? on: November 09, 2017, 12:55:56 PM
The amount of sheer ignorance posted thus far is like looking at all the newbie posts asking if a 1070 can do 57MH/s on ethash.

Running one or 2 video cards at home most likely will not be the cause of your demise. Odds are you're more likely to get hit by lightning.

increase the number of cards, however, to a small farm and you are now getting higher particulate benzene, toluene, chlorobenzene, ethyl-benzene, xylene, styrene, benzaldehyde, and trimethyl-benzene in your air - especially if you don't have fresh air intakes.

While some of these chemicals occur naturally, the amount given off by PCBs as volatile organic compounds is multiplied by the number of devices being used as well as operating conditions like humidity, voltage and ambient temperatures.

I bought high quality VOC meter to monitor the air at my farm.

For myself, I run any new cards I get in an outdoor or ventilated setup for 2 months before putting them in a place with a lot less ventilation.

While a space heater may give off heat from warming resistive coils, it doesn't give off nearly as many VOCs as new carpet or a new video card does.

This.

I moved my rig to the balcony because I felt dizzy after installing my mining farm in my room.
May I add last time I felt dizzy was either from alcohol, I usually never feel this way otherwise.

After moving it two days ago, I do not face the same dizzines, it is mostly gone.

Update regarding mining on the balcony ~

Fans run ~50%.
GPU temps ~64C
I am able to OC core clock to +200 (1080ti).
No noise issues

It seems like a good idea to mine on the balcony Cheesy

Thanks!

I would be all over that PSU if it was higher efficiency, seems PERFECT for this build lol

The PSU you use is a server psu, its powered up at all times, meaning your risers will have constant power. If two supplies power two different things, things can become out of sync.
If two different things are powered from one supply, things can NOT become out of sync.

I am no electrician therefor I wish someone with higher knowledge can confirm this to make you more certain that it is indeed wrongly setup.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 12x 1080 TI Mining Rig Build (8300 sols) on: November 08, 2017, 09:19:36 AM
Interesting that you'll need only 6xVega56 (950watt) to have the same earnings as your monster 12x1080ti zec rig ))

Show your calc's. There is no way.

OP, it is recommended to power the risers with the SAME psu used to power said gpu.

dstm miner works great.  Hashrates are for me about 8% higher than ewbf on pretty much all gpu's I have.  Rock stable for me.  You should give it a try.

really I have one rig thats doing equihash using otiminer 4.3 700 sols or so per 1080ti and 450 sols per 1070, you really see more than that wth dstm ?

I only use 75% power though on all my nivdia cards
740 sols on dtsm miner at 72%tdp with zotac amp extreme core 710 sols asus stix oc at 70%tdp

oc settings for ur strix?

Whats your thoughts on keeping the miner on the balcony if it remains running 24/7?
There will be some wind, not much. Condensation? Bad for cards etc?
Mine runs pretty hot ~~ 78C in my room, and theres also noise id like to get rid of.

EDIT: should mention my balcony is closed, with windows I can open. Its pretty cold in there tho

what gpu's

if they are nvida  what tdp?

if your tdp is 85%  drop it to 70%

then see what the gpu's do.

your balcony  could be good  with the window open 1 or 2 inches

1080ti's. Running 7 of them atm, 5 more 1070's going into the rig pretty soon.
TDP is almost 100% (240w). If I drop TDP ill lose too much of the hashrate.

69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1070 Ti is now pre-order on newegg.com on: October 26, 2017, 02:37:25 PM
Also possible to pre-order on nvidias website for 449 i belive. (only for us/canada)

What is it that is the determinating factor of the hashrate? It has 8GB mem, CUDA cores close to an 1080, why shouldnt it be as good as a 1080?
Any hardware pro's that can answer?
Memory is a big factor. GDDR5x in the 1080 compared to GDDR5 in the GTX 1070 TI. It should be what makes or breaks the GPU in terms of mining, economically and gaming wise it doesn’t make sense to buy this thing either. IIRC 5 was better than 5X out of the box with the 1070 and 1080, not sure how it is now.

Indeed the mem type playes a role, but I believe we (miners) want the GDDR5 type, it performs better for mining if im not all wrong.

72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [HowTo] Get 1080 Ti for ~400 USD on: October 17, 2017, 07:14:52 PM
What is the point of saving money on a couple video cards when people are just giving it to you instead?

fast math is 3 x 700 = 2100  retail price

his math is 3 x 400= 1200 + 700 = 1900

so you save 200 bucks

if you knew you wanted 10 cards

10 x 700 = 7000

 10 x 400 = 4000 + 700 = 4700  this would be pretty good if it was real.

but  if you really can get cards at 400  why no get 20 x 400 = 8000

and then sell at 550 = 11000

so I ask you op  why not get 20 yourself

That would be the best option, unfortunately I do not have the funds to buy said amount.
So I thought id sell the method instead.

But you have a point, I might be better of selling the batch I got so far and reusing to buy more ~ might make more than mining itself lol Cheesy
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [HowTo] Get 1080 Ti for ~400 USD on: October 17, 2017, 02:20:31 PM
This sounds like a massive scam to me. Also, this probably belongs in the altcoins section

Indeed, it does sound too good to be true, thats why I am open to having a middleman that the buyer chooses, only trusted ones tho.

Im sorry I cant be more specific, but it is indeed legit, I will post the method once it no longer works and show my purchase showing the amount I paid along with the items received:)
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / [HowTo] Get 1080 Ti for ~400 USD on: October 17, 2017, 08:48:23 AM
Hi,

Theres a way to get 1080 Ti's for ~400 USD, it is not illegal in any way, and A TRUSTED(!!!) MIDDLEMAN BY YOUR CHOICE can be used.
I share the method for 700 USD, bitcoin or zcash is accepted.

The middleman can release the payment once your order has been confirmed & shipped. There is no limit as to how many you can buy.

I believe I made a post about this yesterday before going to sleep, but I maybe didnt press submit, if it is in the wrong section, I am sorry, please move it to another thread.

Method will be sold to max 5 people to not over saturate it, send pm or post in thread.

Hello,

One of my rigs that prevoiusly ran 2x 1070 with +145/+1300 OC was upgraded to 6x of these GPU's.
It is not stable anymore tho, the miner crashes 2 times an hour, where to begin looking?

When I check /var/logs/kernel.log & xorg.0.log they are both empty, but created with the same timestamp of the crash.

What do?
G3900 Cpu
H110-D3A mobo

Also, at the time of the crash, watchdog shows 0 GPU tjreshold on all devices.
Mining Zcash with zm on v0019 1.2

I dont know your cards manufacturer, I have 2 rigs of 6x1070 Asus and 7x1070 Gygabite
and none of those can handle your oc
My stable oc for ZEC with 440-450 Sol/s

Asus:
Power 120
Core Clock 120
Mem Clock 600

Gygabite:
Power 125
Core Clock 115
Mem Clock 600

You can also enable telegram to get warning notification from watcdog

Wow... I have tweaked my settings now and my rig finally runs 3 hrs without crash.
The manufactor is Gigabyte, model G1 and these are my settings:
+130 core clock
+1200 mem clock
-135W

Each card generate ~475-480 sol/s.

Guys

I'm running atm only 4 rigs - each 12 gpu 1070 Gtx

Running zcash with EFWB

3/4 running v1,2
1 running v0,19

all of them have these dips. in hashrate look image

what can I do?.

I tried ZM miner , however sometimes I got this network error. I follow the miner's topic on bttalk and latest version could contain a fix for this. waiting for fullzero to release 1,3.

What can I do other than this? any suggestions?

I have the same dips, also use 1070's. Which mobo do u use? I mine ZEC

I have biostar bt250 btc pro

Then its not motherboard related. How's the bt250 when it comes to stability when running 12x 1070's tho?

It's pretty stable imo , they also have 2 extra 4pin molex power plugs on the mobo for the pci's.
Install is very easy aswell , just boot with 6 gpu all in extenders change 1 bios setting to 6+gpu and add other 6.

I run my mobo's with all extenders , no gpu on board. works like a charm.

Only thing i can complain about are the extenders I think , on install it took me ages to get rid of bad connections.. now once they all set it should continue to work.. :p

Awesome, im planing on building a rig with that mobo, but with the 1070 ti.
Which PSU's do you use?

The QT wallet has this function, but its taking alot of time downloading the blockchain so I wanted to ask if there are other wallets with this function ?

I have MultiBit and Electrum, they dont have the, insert X adresses+amount to send, press send, and all of them sends at the same time.

Are there wallets meeting my needs ?

Thanks!
