61  Local / Polski / Re: Dlaczego Bitcoin jest ciągle w fazie beta? on: February 03, 2020, 12:45:06 PM

62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shanghai Stock Market down 8% - Bitcoin’s On-chain Transaction Volume up by 45% on: February 03, 2020, 12:06:30 PM

However, the crypto markets have actually been pretty positive during all the crisis - and I think there is a huge chance that a lot of investors shifting their portfolio's towards crypto. Which is pretty ironic in itself, crypto being seen as a "stable" investment during a crisis, while stocks and other traditional investments go to shit.

Really does provide some thought as to what could actually turn out to happen if there was a even bigger crisis, or a huge war broke out. Would it lead to the demise of fiat currencies/investments and a lot of growth for crypto-currencies.

We have yet another market-based argument for considering some cryptos (especially BTC) as "store of value" assets. But in the case of bigger crisis/war, there is one factor which is important - power supply. If there will be frequent and long blackouts caused by it (in countries/regions where there is a lot of biggest mining farms), then the hashrate of cryptos would go down causing panic.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Many Bitcoin Forks Are There? You will be surprised!!! on: January 30, 2020, 11:27:48 AM
Is it just us, or really many of them even just by the name itself sound like a scam (not to mention the "coincidence" related to the release date during the 2017 bull run)?
64  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona Virus and The Effect on The Markets on: January 29, 2020, 07:42:38 PM
At least, bitcoin is not dropping as classic financical markets. Im loosing money due to this epidemy
I do not think so there is a link between the virus and the crypto market. Do not link everything with Bitcoin. Coronavirus situation is a health disaster, it only needs prayer and precautions. Any type of help if you can offer to the states that are fighting with this deadly virus would be a great step. This do not have anything to do with the Bitcoin or crypto market.
It could if there will be serious power issues in regions of China where most of the big mining farms are located.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is Bitcoin living up to Satoshi's original vision? on: January 29, 2020, 07:37:26 PM

People have the whole progression of this badly mixed up in my opinion.

You have to become a store of value first. Then you become a currency. You don't put your day to day financial needs into something as weedy and volatile as Bitcoin currently is. And layer two stuff may well solve the cash aspect. We'll have to see .

There's a lot more ground to cover. 'Cash' is the final progression, not the first.

Just to give a confirmation of your statement - it can be said we see the same with BTC. On the Pacific Ocean, there is one small state - called Vanuatu. Their traditional currency (and even you can find it on the flag)...is a boar tusk.

For many people, a boar's tusk has a very small value. But some of the locals found it very valuable and instead of breeding boars for food, they started breeding them for tusks and kept feeding them (any analogies between mining and "wasting electricity"?).
The older the boar, the more circles its tusks had been making and the more problematic, costly and time-consuming it was to feed it (halving, rising mining difficulty and effect on the price of BTC).
Finally, the boar tusks became something more just mere store of value - became a local currency, a symbol of wealth with great reputation (now BTC is a store of value thing, right?)

But anyway, it is nothing but a piece of bone, just as BTC is just a piece of code, right?
66  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 5 Predictions For Cryptocurrencies In 2020 on: January 29, 2020, 02:34:47 PM
Five different predictions does not make nay sense. I would be happy to know if anyone can predict one correct value of bitcoin.
No one can predict it precisely.

And we are not even able to say on this moment what influence may have some factors like this coronavirus on mining of cryptos as such.
67  Local / Polski / Re: Pospekulujmy o aktualnej i przyszłej cenie BTC. on: January 29, 2020, 12:45:09 PM

A Wy co o tym myślicie?

Mamy wrażenie, że tutaj jednym z dużych czynników może być panika związana z Chinami. Bo jeśli chińskie farmy będą musiały chociaż tymczasowo zawiesić pracę z powodu np. przerw w dostawie prądu dla podmiotów prywatnych - spada hashrate i ceny wielu krypto mogą spaść i to znacząco.
68  Economy / Economics / Re: Does China Control Bitcoin? on: January 29, 2020, 11:16:31 AM
It is a fact that mining power is mostly based in china. And there are so many bitcoin adopters there. But i don't think they totally control the bitcoin. They only have enough impact.

Depending on how this new virus will spread, in case of potential power shortages (what we believe should not take place), we may see a huge changes in Bitcoin price. This could affect as well factories which are producing minign equipment etc.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin upgrades and FATF (Travel Rule) on: January 28, 2020, 04:25:17 PM
In cases like that, the most likely solution would be that you may not be able to get your withdrawal accepted unless you can prove that you are the verified/registered owner of a wallet (supposedly from some sort of a white list accepted by authorities as meeting FATF standards).

70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Idea for physical BTC bills on: January 28, 2020, 04:05:05 PM
With the physical ones you could do one thing .
Paper wallets
This can inturn help everyone without anything else to be added to the list , paper wallets can be used as physical bills after the reciever confirms the amount.
Physical bills doesn't necessarily mean that we have to actually get something like the normal currency or the dollar.

Correct us if we are wrong, but this would require one-use wallet. Is there any way to create a single-use wallet which is one way only(out)? What if someone would send BTC to such non-existent address (already emptied)?
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Body Of Control? on: January 28, 2020, 02:51:10 PM
Technically speaking, we already have a body which tries to do so, known as FATF. And even though their rules do not have binding power, the states which are not following the "recommendations" are facing severe repercussions including partial or full cutting off from the international financial systems.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in Silence on: January 28, 2020, 01:58:11 PM
if you sold/bought close to peak/bottom and make a few hundred percents of ROI

If it was that easy, I believe lots of people are rich now.

Believing is good but you need to prepare for the worst. Crypto is still young and anything can happen. Don't do something stupid like finding a loan to buy Bitcoin when you can't even pay 1/10th of the loan on time.
I agree with your opinion that we must be prepared with all the worst possibilities that can happen. My friend has experienced this bad thing, he invested quite a lot without thinking about bad possibilities. Than finally he lost quite a lot of eth when mid-2018

Well, many people first heard about cryptocurrencies during the last ATH for alts BTC and decided to take loans to buy them close to the peak. Greed blinded them.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in Silence on: January 28, 2020, 11:17:46 AM
trading is for those who have much time
that is not true, trading can be adjusted to your time, if you are a busy person and don't have much time you can choose long term trading, You can trade once a week or even once a month, even the day traders can still trade even if they don't have much time, I am sure, there are no traders who trade every second unless they use trading bots.

Even better - you can even trade manually literally 3-4 times per year if you sold/bought close to peak/bottom and make a few hundred percents of ROI within even a couple of months.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So...Is Bitcoin the ultimate coin that does not need more development? on: January 28, 2020, 11:12:27 AM
everything needs improvement and developments with the passing time so is the case with Bitcoin. I am not saying that it is not standing at a stable or secure position, no doubt is it has touched the many steps of development and working as the king in crypt market. But development with time will bring more improvements and it will become more efficient.

Especially if we are speaking about IT sphere - if you do not evolve/adjust/update/improve as the time goes by, it means the project is dead. Do we have things to improve? Of course, now LN is the most important element of the development, as we learnt in Dec 2017, that BTC transaction could take even 24 within its blockchain. Other features can be taken from other cryptos, like ETH (contracts, dapps).

The only feature which would be potentially harmful for BTC would be full privacy (like of privacy coins), as this would automatically cause a hostility from authorities and could lead to bans for BTC (as officials are too afraid of any sort of possibility allowing money laundering).
76  Economy / Economics / Re: is it possible that the bitcoin was created by governments? on: January 28, 2020, 11:03:03 AM
According to conspiracy theory, Is it possible that the bitcoin was created by governments to gain financial strength in the modern world?

i think its still possible, how about FBI is the man behind satoshi nakamoto ?
we know FBI have the newer technology, AI, encrypted etc. so i think its still posible to think FBI

If we go into this direction then we should realize a few things:
1. There are people imprisoned for stocks pump and dump schemes (illegal there, not forbidden on crypto markets). Why eg. those people would not take an opportunity to shorten their sentence to eg. 10 years by trading cryptos on behalf of secret services? As well - we know that whales (which are often early adopters or parties/companies which know when to dump to buy much cheaper and hoard their BTC/any other crypto) can by a single transaction change the trend/boost it significantly.
2. SS like FBI, unlike normal individuals, can pass all the KYC with fake identity on all the exchanges.
3. Unlike hard cash, for the purpose of black budgets of such services (black budget is an unofficial/illegal one like paying bribes to corrupt foreign officials etc.) - instead of using cash which has its physical size, you can fir $4000000 value in crypto on a small hardware wallet.
77  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coronavirus Outbreak on: January 28, 2020, 09:45:11 AM

It's coz this virus is "novel". Basically no one have resistance to it so it's possible for it to cut swathes of people unchecked, especially with its long incubation period where it can spread undetected.

There's no vaccine for it like what is released every flu season. If it hits you you better hope you get support to help your body fight it off, which could be hard once hospitals get overcrowded once everyone calls sick.

Is it a true rumour, that alcohol and temperatures above 57*C are deadly to the new virus?

This is possibly the direction other countries will try to go.
79  Local / Polski / Re: Pospekulujmy o aktualnej i przyszłej cenie BTC. on: January 27, 2020, 04:25:52 PM

W wypadku LTC w ub. roku pompa zaczęła zchodzić jakiś miesiąc przed halvingiem. i z górki $200 mamy niecałe $60 na chwilę obecną. Więc istnieje prawdopodobieństwo, że będziemy mieli 2 górki w ciągu najbliższych miesięcy.
80  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: NEVER EVER deal Bitcoins with PAYPAL (F&F too!) on: January 27, 2020, 02:17:32 PM
I sold my Bitcoins through Paypal Friends and Family payment thinking it would be "safe".
I was TOTALLY wrong.
The scammer issued a chargeback claiming it as "unauthorized purchase".
I sent all the chat logs and the screenshot of the Paypal payment from the buyer and the receipt from Paxful including PGP signature, but I doubt if I will ever win.
Feels so sad that this BS has happened in the end of the year.
I'm stuck between either paying the chargeback or closing my bank account and debit card, never using Paypal again.

I agree. I wouldn't recommend dealing with paypal if you can avoid using it. In some cases you don't have a choice though, since a lot of westerners use it.

It applies not only to dealing with cryptocurrencies but any other virtual goods, including such thing like World of Warcraft account. You may face chargeback in each case where you have no paper proof of shipping.
