Authorities around the world know about the website, but closing it is another matter – partly because it uses Bitcoins

65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upgrade bitcoin.org on: March 22, 2013, 12:34:10 AM
But bitcoin.org (which should be bitcoin.com, duh!) should have as it's primary goal to drive users to purchase bitcoins.

Not sure it should drive users to buy, but it should certainly help those who want. Could you put a link to this page in the resources ?

Thanks for the good work Smiley

EDIT : Could you publish a btc address ? You deserve some tip

One of the fastest-growing alternative cash products is Bitcoin, an online currency launched in 2009 that isn't backed by a central bank or controlled by a central administrator. Currency units, known as "bitcoins" and consisting of a series of numbers, are created automatically on a set schedule and traded anonymously between digital addresses or "wallets." Certain exchange firms buy or sell bitcoins for legal tender at a rate that fluctuates with the market.

Seems like a good piece, informative, documented, balanced.

Could be worse, but they still clearly don't get it.

Funniest moment is probably the confusion around "algorithms", where basically bitcoin issuance algo is the same (bad) thing as algorithmic trading.

Don't know what is NEFT vodka involvement, but their bottle doesn't end on the video by accident imo.
Good choice of advertising, that video is amazing.

Looking back at spring of 2011. A time where more and more people where discovering bitcoin. Retrospectively the beginning of a big bubble.

Look similar ? See how this hanging man ended.

This.
Even if he might be doing a good academic job, at some point he should maybe get out and realize there's a revolution in the process.

Yeah, you're reading it right. A lot of 'em are further back near the 40's and 32.

To put some figures on it, there's 2.5M$ above 40$, and 5.7M$ above 30$
