6 - April - 2020 Update

The nodejs package has now been successfully created. It is available at https://www.npmjs.com/package/metasafe-eth

Documentation on installation and usage has also been successfully been made available at https://metasafe.org/documentation

From now on the focus will be on:

  • Reaching clients (any big updates will be made here). We are looking for all major wallet creators, exchanges, decentralized exchanges, gambling
    companies, etc.
  • Development of the tool & compataibility with other blockchain (for example: analysis of bitcoin mnemonic phraases)
  • Development of the bruteforce tool for people who forgot a letter or two of their seed phrase
  • Using our AI, we have analyzed 100 MILLION seed phrases so far. I want to reach at least 1 BILLION by 30/April/2020
  • Potentially a website redesign of the front page
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MetaSafe] An actual seed phrase service on: April 05, 2020, 03:53:41 PM
Just a quick update:

You can also use now MetaSafe on 24 words mnemonics for both generation and analysis Smiley

also added new points in the roadmap, specifically:

  • Bitcointalk Bounty Campaign to reach more users
  • Documentation + some sort of paper describing MetaSafe in more details

The documentation will be created after the node package & the campaign will start
after the documentation.

edited few things.

Please spread the word. Use MetaSafe mnemonics and stay safe. It costs nothing & it's good cybersecurity

67  Other / Off-topic / Anyone purchased Aliexpress laptops? on: March 26, 2020, 04:12:43 PM
I found some nice laptops for £1,200 on aliexpress:

Xiaomi 2019 Gaming Laptop Windows 10 OS Intel Core I7 - 9750H Hexa Core 16GB RAM 512GB SSD

It also has nvidia geforce rtx 2060 6gb. The only drawback
is the chinese operating system which I can change anyway.
Has anyone ever purchased
such laptops on aliexpress and what was your experience?

The UK approved to pay 80% of employees' salaries. My accountant recommended me doing this scheme with this lawyer.
he seems legit enough for me + there is money back thing which is appealing to my eyes.

I'm ready to send him my money. Any recommendations, am I the only one doing it or you are also doing that guys?

Your accountant is either an idiot or a crook. It's a very obvious scam. You send him BTC so that he can send you money? That's such an old scam.

You may be right. I don't know what I was thinking yesterday however I was blindfolded by the "money". If you place every family member then yes, it looks like a lot of money. However it looked ok because the btc to send had a good reason ("to pay the salary"). Now that I am fresh I can see that this sounds too good to be true.

How do we lock this topic?

edit you guys may be right. This could be a scam.
I requested a call and I am being avoided. I recalled my
accountant and I was told it's not. I am confused now

But Wireguard has faster transfer speeds so maybe your VPN program can switch between OpenVPN and Wireguard based on how much security is needed.

That's actually a very good idea. I will keep updates about that implementation. The idea is of course to decentralize VPN snf let people host their own. You may share it with a friend
or more an split the $10/month cost to $1/month.
71  Economy / Economics / Re: Net worths if Bitcoin reaches $100,000 on: March 24, 2020, 05:46:39 PM

Bezos may be known as one of the richest men in the world, but what about families like Walton (Walmart) - Estimated Wealth: $190.5 billion. And what about Rothschilds or The House of Saud whose combined wealth is actually measured in the trillions of dollars. These are really real players who have actually acquired their wealth through the generations, and Bezos, Buffett, Gates are little babies for them.

A few years ago if I remember, If you had access to Bloomberg Terminal (the one worth $24k a year), there was a function which allowed you to see potential holders of stock in big companies such as
Twitter, Amazon, Microsoft, etc. You will be surprised about how big portions of american companies are owned by arabs  Grin

The biggest owner holds just 4.9% of the total supply. Compared to company shares where the
founder owns 10-20+ %, Bitcoin is very decentralised in wealth distribution.

What would be your net worth if bitcoin reaches $100,000?

74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / [MetaSafe] An actual seed phrase service on: March 20, 2020, 07:51:42 PM
Dear community,
Today I want to announce a new industry standard for generating seed phrases / mnemonics.

MetaSafe allows you to generate SECURE seed phrases for
yourself or your users if you are a wallet/exchange/company.

The chances for mnemonic-attacks are low (= the hacker guesses you mnemonic) but this does
not mean we should just rely on chance. Instead, we must implement adequate security measures for
mnemonics which protect us: dAPP users, MetaMask users, decentralized and
centralized exchanges
& literally everyone who uses a mnemonic for accessing their wallet.

Inspired from one of my favorite services, myEtherwallet I decided to make MetaSafe
a client-side application. This means that your mnemonic generated or analysed will be just on
your computer and never  sent to our server.

You would be surprised to find out that your mnemonic is not the most secure. 1/5 are not and you may be that one.
There is an analyser free to use on any mnemonic

Companies that use MetaSafe wallets will receive a badge from us with their ID
which will be stored on the blockchain.

Users will be able to verify the identity of those companies on https://www.metasafe.org/who

Roadmap
  • Creation of node package to support companies generating mnemonics (entirely client side, easy to integrate, coming very soon)  Done
  • Integration of mnemonic/seed phrase analysis and generation for 24 words mnemonics  Done
  • With everyone's support, hopefully we can make top wallet generation services (e.g Metamask, myEtherwallet, etc.) to
implement MetaSafe. They can generate trillions of secure wallets for no running costs
  • Bitcointalk Bounty Campaign to reach more users POSTPONED FOR NOW
  • Documentation + some sort of paper describing MetaSafe in more details  Done
  • Expansion to create & analyse seed phrases on other blockchains and not just Ethereum
  • Seed phrase brute-force service in case you forgot one or two words

Company Application (OPEN)
There will be one fee to place your company on the blockchain and give you a badge. If you apply now you can
get it down for a small fee because you are between the first. The badge is useful to let users know that you
are taking care of their safety/security and implement MetaSafe services. The ID will point to your company details.
If interested, please leave a comment with the following
format:

Have you contacted us already? Yes/No:

2. If an individual is guaranteed life support (food and shelter), he is more likely to do good.

I know it's an assumption but I want to help you. Overall it sounds interesting but this assumption is completely
wrong. I have seen enough people who receive life support and stop progressing in their life. They become plants
and do nothing good for the economy other than being an expenditure. They do nothing for getting themselves out of
this situation (being on guaranteed life support) and become an expenditure for the government.

This answer may be influenced by my political views and what I have seen in my life, however I am 100% sure a lot
of people deserve that support as long as they do useful things (working, create value for the society, etc.) What I believe
is more important is CREATING THE OPPORTUNITY FOR PEOPLE TO PROGRESS. This involves offering them a chance or a small
help to get out of their situation by offering opportunities which can be capitalised on.

Also regarding what you stated, "the rich gets richer and the poor gets poorer", this is a widely statement accepted by a lot of people
who don't have a clear vision & see their situation. The rich gets richer because has opportunities. If you learn economics and politics
you will find out that in modern countries the poor does not get poorer UNLESS he lives in an area with no opportunities (the very poor country side
with no industry for example). The only solution is to move which means that it's an opportunity but many don't see.

Instead, if you look at an extremely poor country such as Gambia, you need to answer what could you do to create opportunities for gambian people to
succeed?

This will not be agreed by everyone and it's a 50%-50% opinion. Take a look at this website:
https://www.debate.org/opinions/does-every-american-have-the-right-to-food-water-and-shelter
77  Other / Off-topic / Re: Fake Exchange Volume??????? on: March 14, 2020, 11:09:49 PM
Affirmative.
They have several bot accounts which have 0 fee, and they just trade directly between themselves.
This is done so fast that a regular person wouldn't really catch it, but it's visible in the history.
This is called wash trading, and it's frowned upon

Good catch and thanks for the information.
Shouldn't this be an illegal activity and be punished by law accordingly?
78  Other / Serious discussion / We are still being targeted on: March 14, 2020, 03:31:30 PM
We are still being targeted by ads, no matter the GDPR regulations and everything to "control what you see".

Today I opened my incognito Chrome tab (without being logged in on google, gmail or anything), searched for a leasing
deal for a new car. I just looked at those deals and nothing more, closed the tab.

Later today I see my instagram full of leasing ads, 2 in a row from two different companies  Angry Angry Angry

I am an ethical hacking & cyber-security guy so perhaps I know how take care of my security. Have we moved from cookies-based
targeted ads to NAT/PAT IP targetting? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_address_translation)

Screw this, I am starting my own VPN. Features it will have:

Possibility to change the encryption method:
  • For important things like transactions etc it will be a good security encryption method but it will be slower
  • For normal things that need speed like watching youtube, netflix etc it will have a normal encryption method like nord vpn but it will be faster

100% open source and free, you will be able to host it yourself for max $5/month and don't pay those VPN scam companies. You will have full access to your
own information that is held on the VPN, no logs, no stupid things.

(for your knowledge, even VPNs are not secure so that's why hosting it yourself is better because you have CONTROL https://techcrunch.com/2019/10/21/nordvpn-confirms-it-was-hacked/?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAIzsV-id4TYt5JxoHP4MdXifk7ruMmhXGFYwOBFHowFmuaJro6nJ-328EmFzYs67yO93XbV2bakJUxM3afJBMQ-0mUijxg75o4eA7ip2GAtqVpzBwIeO-4_49F0_cbS0mubBGVQehKFWmod3al4LfV_alCTAaZy7uTxhsMaJS6ko )

Will post and update as soon as the solution is ready.
79  Other / Off-topic / Fake Exchange Volume??????? on: March 14, 2020, 01:11:27 AM
Just randomly navigated to https://coinmarketcap.com/rankings/exchanges/ and what do I see?

Top exchanges: Etherflyer, MXC, LBANK, ZB.COM

Are those exchanges a scam / faking their volume a lot or is EtherFlyer, MXC, etc "the new binance"?  Sad

Never heard of them
80  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Idea: using Atomic Swaps to make Bitcoin invoices less prone to volatility on: March 13, 2020, 06:48:26 PM
Yes, this sounds great however

I am shocked by how many people didn't know or don't know about the existence of such system. Merchants are already using it, only
that it's not popular.

It's called autosettlement. When you received a payment on your product using the crypto gateway or whatever coding logic you want to apply,
the BTC/crypto is sent directly to an exchange such as Binance/Coinbase and INSTANTLY converted into a stable coin. This thing exists and it's
everywhere.

You want to decentralize (the new addition) it but you did not say how.
