Vegascoin was already listed on Cryptopia but was delisted due to all of the wallet issues. That's pretty rich, considering they just delisted a bunch of coins, even though they claim (or did claim in the past) "once a coin is voted in we do not delist" Also, to acquire 250k DOT (the discounted listing fee) at market will cost you nearly 3 BTC 3 BTC is outrageous. I really like Cryptopia, in fact I prefer them... but we cant afford these high listing fees everytime an exchange goes down (especially with the BTC price rising like it is)... Also, we are not considering that Novaexchange is changing ownership so we may still be listed once ownership changes over.... I think we can definitely get more local support in the near future (which could significantly increase our trade volume). With Bitcoin really getting more buzz, and casinos in Vegas (Like "The D" on Fremont Street who PROUDLY accept bitcoin and its all over their digital signage outside the casino (ill post some pictures sometime soon).... I have been getting more questions than ever from noobs in Vegas who want to know more about what cryptocurrencies to invest in... We still have a lot of potential. I do not think its wise to call it dead. Ideally if we have the means to do our own exchange at some point, I think other major exchanges may add us for the hell of it. I registered Vegascointalk.com and am hoping to get that going soon, along with tutorials so new people can get involved right away and have a better understanding of how it all works. This will increase our longterm investors. My other site(s) are still on hold for now due to time constraints but they will accept VGC once they are ready. I was suprised to see the price dropped, wish i had more money to buy coins right now.... once our exchange situation gets sorted out, we should all try to put some bids up on the buy side (so if BTC goes way up and any weak hands start dumping VGC we get the coins much cheaper). |

Earlier, i said i think we need a lightning network but after reading more about what a lightning network actually is, I think it needs to be more like a central bank (i said lightning network because the system needs to be able to verify transactions instantly, these transactions could be broadcast to the VGC blockchain but since they are accounted for centrally (or using some type of sidechain to track all transactions/accounts). users dont need to wait for confirmations.)
I like the idea of games using ethereum. But if these tokens are going to pay out there needs to be some sensible accounting plan.
If the central bank also offers a coin exchange and payment processing and accounting, there are a lot of options, most casinos have a club card that holds their points. each person can have all their various tokens on the card. A lot of ways that could go.
i would like to see it get to that point when people come on vacation, keep coins in an account and the following year and their money is worth more and they come back. It could really become a thing.
yah VegasCoins on your VGC card to use at the casinos while verifying and seeing the transactions on your mobile. even gambling in the casinos without being there using your phone and apps and your VGC. I don't know if there is power behind this coin, what are the devs upto, is there community support? I mean this thread is since 2014 and only 22 pages to now. the idea is novel and could get somewhere if serious development and support were behind it, otherwise, the next big thing is being developed already somewhere else and VGC will be obsolete soon.. There are a lot of issues with this coin. The devs are not around much and do not seem to care about vegascoin anymore to do any improvements. They are trying to swap out vgc for an eth token called Vegas, but I do not think that is going well either. I keep a full node up and still mine occasionally. VGC is still traded at Novaexchage. |

You mean VGC, or its "replacement" VGS? The former is still working just fine, apart from the issues with sending large transactions. The github link on the latter is 404 so I guess that may have died. If you want to send your VGC to an exchange, do it 5000 at a time. 142k VGC is worth approximately 0.011 BTC at novaexchange.
