could you possibly replace :

Link 1

on something like:

bitcoin software distribution download - link 1

better seo.

Sounds good, will do.

hmm, should I rename each link something like "Bictoin client mirror download 1" and so on? Would that be effective?
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin client mirrors and checksums on: August 21, 2011, 08:14:51 PM
anyway,  I now have complete set of v 0.3.24 files at https://bitcoin.org.uk/forums/cp/1-bitcoin-software/

all matching proper signatures.
Cool, link added.

Should I use sf.net's or github's version?

Let's go with the one on SF, as some folks might want that one that can't dl files from there.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin client mirrors and checksums on: August 21, 2011, 02:52:10 PM
Thanks guys, list updated.

NothinG, the src link you posted doesn't match the SHA-1 checksum in the sha1sums.asc file?

Can't find one of the src files on github that matches the SHA-1 checksum either. Weird

*edit*

Found one, the src file on sourceforge matches, but not the one on github?

67  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2220 GH/s] Slush's Bitcoin Mining Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz) on: August 19, 2011, 04:28:40 PM
there was an invalid block, so that might have caused it.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: No bitcoin in Iran on: August 19, 2011, 04:19:33 PM
Also if there is a need, I would be happy to host binaries. Sha and md5 checksums should ensure integrity of the files and there is https throughout at https://bitcoin.org.uk

If you do, I will gladly add them to the list in the thread in my signature

So, I'm already seeding the Bitcoin oficial clients with MD5 included.

Cheers!
Thiago

Would it be okay to add the .torrent links to the mirror/checksum thread I created?
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin client mirrors and checksums on: August 19, 2011, 03:27:14 AM
This is for folks that can't access sorceforge, IE embargoed countries.....

Figured I'd post some current client download mirrors, their file names, and associated checksums for those that can't download them from sorceforge.

Thats a good question, If you can't find the original checksums, maybe there will be enough people to provide their checksums and you can get enough of the same confirmations to affirm that is the correct checksums.

'k, I'll search for them, and create a topic with the current client file names and relevant checksums. Then I'll put a link to the thread.

Link

put a .txt file in the directory with the url of that thread.
75  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What about a host which doesn't discriminate against people? on: August 19, 2011, 02:19:48 AM
if you've downloaded your clients from source forge you can checksum them your self

'k, will do, thanks.

Hmm, that begs the question, how to verify the checksum for those downloading them?

Say, I post a checksum for each client in a txt file. How do people downloading them know that it is valid?

Is there a way to point to an official/verified checksum that they can check against?
76  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What about a host which doesn't discriminate against people? on: August 19, 2011, 02:05:38 AM
Open directory on my seedbox with current clients:

Here

Let me know if there are any problems. Also, would be nice to include a link to the current checksums, but can't seem to find them.

Just wondering
78  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LinuxCoin A lightweight Debian based OS with everything ready to go. on: August 04, 2011, 05:34:41 AM
Hmm, I used a slightly different approach to make a persistant install.

Instead of adding the 2GB file to the usb stick, I installed the iso and then just made a new ext4 partition with the rest of the space, and named it "live-rw".

Seems to be working okay, though I can't seem to get smartcoin to work. I downloaded it via apt-get install and installed it with "./smartcoin_install.sh" in the /opt/smartcoin/smartcoin/ directory. I still get "unknown command" when I type "smartcoin" in the terminal.

Any suggestions?
79  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LinuxCoin A lightweight Debian based OS with everything ready to go. on: July 30, 2011, 07:26:09 PM
@ CyberPhunk:

I ran my own guide to the letter and surprise-surprise I've got exactly the same issue.

So, quick run trough the lines of the scripts revealed the culprit - there is an extra "&" that you may want to remove, in the startminers.sh, the one that is listed at the end of the last phoenix.py execution.

It should run fine then.

Sorry for the mistake, I've no idea how that got there

'K, took out the extra & and it still isn't working. Starts up and now it at least tries to mine, but never connects. At least it's not shutting everything down. Wink

I think I'm going to start over from the beginning and see if I screwed something up somewhere. Wouldn't surprise me.  Wink

Thanks for that, I'm a linux neophyte and had NO clue what was wrong!  Grin

You can update using the instructions in post 1 safely now I think Cheesy I'm goinng to be releasing the final version some time this evening though.

Sounds cool.

Maybe include an option to upgrade to 11.7 or stay with 11.6?
