61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BITMEA | MEA - Scrypt POW, No-ICO, No-Dev Tax on: January 21, 2018, 10:38:46 AM
Hello. What exactly are the outlets in question? What exactly can you buy on your coins?
Too little information about the project on your site. Please describe in more detail the advantages of your coin.

Unfortunately we are not allowed to mention any names at this point. We are in talk with many retailers who have online presence in the region and once an adoption happens we will announce it on the spot.

Apart from reselling Google play gift cards what retailers will adopt your coin, or are you still not allowed to say?

Hello from Origin Protocol! Our entire team is gathered in our office in San Francisco and we thought it would be a good time to introduce ourselves to the Bitcointalk community.

What is the address of your office in San Francisco?

Has a proper coin been developed yet, or are you promising to develop one which you will swap for ICO tokens? Do the ICO buyers get a token or a coin?

well i sold @12800

Your entire stash ?

It’s a bit like those guys who sold their entire stash at $8 per coin because it can’t go any higher.

yeah...  when kicking myself for selling  a chunk at $1000 early last year, (lesson learned, dont listen to delusional jew haters, lol)
I think of those that sold everything at $8, and I don't feel so bad....

The guys that sold everything at $8 probably don't feel so bad when they think of the guys that shorted at $4 and got squeezed.

People sold for $ is the only reason.

I remember shorting at $4 waiting to close the short at $3.50.

It reached $3.60 then shot up to $4.50....short squeeze.

That was with several hundred bitcoins.
65  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 21, 2018, 02:24:53 AM
Yeah, but most exchanges include the txid so you can easily check if it got confirmed or not so you can easily prove who is fucking it up.

That said... I stopped txing BTC between exchanges since the fee got to a few dollars. I discovered the usefulness of Litecoin and other shitcoins for that and never looked back. Never had a single problem txing anything between exchanges.

The problem is slippage at both ends converting LTC. Especially if LTC is not a trading pair.

Yup. But usually is not BTC what I want to convert to other shitcoins. I dont do unnecesary trades. Also I try to have what I need in every exchange, only having to rebalance very unfrequently. I don-t really care about slippage because it can work both ways.

Most of my txs between exchanges are usually for lending when polo or bitfinex have some shortage of a particular coin and offer a crazy daily rate.

Anyway, LN transfers between exchanges would be an AWESOME addition.

Sometimes even the big exchanges have wallets that go offline after you have sent coins to them during pumps. They only go back online after your coin's price has drastically crashed, and you are left with a huge loss.

I suppose even LN transfers aren't immune to that problem.

How will Airdrop be done?

The dev hasn't said how he will do it yet. We will have to wait until he makes an announcement to find out.

Now today is 19 january 2018 and one coin }tojken] has $0,363812 USD per 1 coin..

BitShares is Going to Dominate Crypto in 2018.

 Kiss

BTS took a really hard hit in the past few weeks so it will rise again no doubt. It's actually a very good buy right now and will produce good returns very shortly

Buying the dip is the best investment strategy you can follow.

<snip>

I rejected the reply from bittrex and kept the complain open also i mentioned that i am not in a country from the list and offered to prove it in anyway possible, now i am just waiting for the reply hopefully they can double check the id and documents i sent them
the annoying thing is that they are treating me like a criminal not even replying to any support ticket for more than 4 months  Huh Huh

Good, bittrex probably thought it could dismiss all BBB complaints with the same cut and paste reply. Lets see what the BBB does on Monday (or earlier if it works weekends).

Feeble weekend half pump starting?

I wouldn't call $700 upwards feeble, it's a small pump.

Hmmm

Just found something that says they are going to put Tether on lighting.

A US dollar denominated crypto on Lightning.   That’s extremely powerful.  Arguably that destroys Ripple and Litecoin.

I still trust Litecoin more. At least it's coin creation is based on proof of work and not blind trust like Ripple and Tether. Plus, Litecoin definitely will be implementing lightning and be engaging in atomic swaps. I enjoy the concept of atomic swaps because you can trade coins P2P without relying on a middleman exchange.

Ripple sometimes starts malfunctioning under stress. I remember complaints that a node went offline and the transactions it was processing were frozen until it went back online.

Bitcoin and litecoin don't suffer from that centralised weakness.

Is lighting instant, or does it require confirmations?

79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] JimCoin [JIM] A currency for Jims, by Jims. on: January 19, 2018, 11:55:18 PM
Why not relaunch JimCoin when you have a working wallet? Nobody can get this one working.

Use the CLI wallet. It is working fine for me.

it would be fairer if all the wallets provided worked immediately from launch. Miners shouldn't have to waste time trying to find out which works by trial and error.

All it takes for Tether to become completely worthless is one guy decides to seize the account at TetherBank

Do they even really have bank accounts? I'm really confused on how the Bitfinex/Tether thing even works. Don't understand why Tethers are never destroyed. Aren't there some days when the fiat withdrawals at Bitfinex exceeds the deposits? Very perplexing. Surely people haven't been depositing $100 million per day this week at Finex, with the recent correction. There can't be that many bargain hunters. Especially when none of their customers are supposed to be from the US. Is it a pain to deposit USD into Bitfinex if I am from Norway? I'm clueless.
It's not just bitfinex anymore that uses tether. There is poloniex, bittrex, and maybe more. I have a polo account and am all bitcoin in it, unless I see a quick trade.

Yes, but you cannot deposit fiat into Polo or Bittrex that I am aware of. Could be mistaken. So the Tethers that they have there originated from a different source. I don't think the $100 Million tethers being created daily are going to any other exchange except Bitfinex. Kraken also uses Tethers and lets you deposit fiat. However, I don't think the freshly minted Tethers are going their either.

I have personally moved Tether from Bitfinex to other exchanges.  It’s useful during a market panic.

How fast are transfers?
