61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: June 26, 2018, 10:56:35 AM
Very intense matches yesterday. Looks like the underdogs gave the favorites a hard time. Spain managed to pass 1st of group with Portugal as second. Once again both Spain and Portugal failed to punish their inferior opponents, the teams didn't look solid enough to win a World Cup but like someone said, don't understimate them. Spain in 2010 was a mess at the beginning and got better after the few couple of games, then ended up winning the world cup.

VAR was useful to determine the second goal and coupled with Ronaldo failing to score the penalty Spain ended up first at the last moment when Iran scored theirs. It was pretty crazy.

The peak of $6256.6 in Bitsamp is higher than any of the previous peaks so we should be retesting $6800 zone soon, the question is, was it enough of a trespass above this resistance to break even or was it too soft and we will keep going down?

In Bitfinex the latest peak is not higher than the previous one for example, this leads to a conclusion: It is too soft, we need a bigger pump to break free from past resistances and call it a recovery, but that graph looks like how markets bottom usually.

Fuck! Looks like someone did read my post and decided to buy a bunch of coins. Did you see that green candle? Now we have definitely broken these ceilings and we are at $6341, primed for a retest in near $7000 resistance ceilings. Let's keep pushing and we may consolidate a solid bottom. If we can get past $7000, then $10000 is the next goal and that will make it or break it, it it's a break, triple bottom scenario for $5000 again and we'll adjust from there.
63  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will probably reach 4500-5000, following seasonality pattern. on: June 25, 2018, 02:25:02 PM
The summer makes people feel good and bullish, I think we are going to have a bull market, which may not cut it for an ATH so we will have further dipping after that, and we may or not may go lower than the February 22 2018 bottom... maybe a triple bottom will be it?

If the tripple bottom scenario doesn't hold we are going on that range you pointed to unfortunately (or fortunately, since I just want to buy more before it goes to $1,000,000)
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: June 25, 2018, 02:10:42 PM
Some obvious wins for tonight. Spain should kick Morocco's ass. Spain is always a contender to win the title. Same goes for Portugal. Spain and Portugal were pretty even on their 3-3 match. Iran is an annoying team to deal with but Cristiano should get some goals.

The other ones are more tricky to me. Russia is extremely motivated because they host the tournament.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to spot a scam ? on: June 25, 2018, 02:04:42 PM
When the odds are too good to be true and they are talking in "guarantees" terms, then you have to start googling that website for some feedback review because it starts sounding like a ponzi scheme in which you put money and you are told that you will have some kind of guaranteed wins. Odds must be fair at best but the house always has an hedge, otherwise it most likely is a scam of sorts.

Stick to time tested betting firms if you dont want to gamble with the place you are betting at, gambling itself is enough risk.

Everyone that is still in fiat is watching the next guy to see if they push the price a little bit lower so they can get in cheaper. It literally looks like this:

Whoever makes the move first will trigger a FOMO because everyone else will get nervous at missing the boat. Next thing you know and we'll be at $30k+
68  Economy / Speculation / Re: BOTTOM? list? the real bottomcaller on: June 24, 2018, 06:25:20 PM
Im going to go for around $5000 ish, based on a simple long term bottom resistance line drawn all the way back from 2017-03-25 ($884) to 2017-07-16 ($1839) and then this connects to around this $5,000 area, a bit lower or higher... this is in Bitstamp prices.

I have to say a specific value I guess so $4982
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: June 24, 2018, 03:27:02 PM
Wow, I made a bet for an England win against Panama, I bet 0.01 BTC for a 3-0 win, but England has destroyed panama with a 6-1 result. I knew that England had a big advantage but I didn't think they would be so offensive. Eventually Panama found a way to score one but England is obviously a top 5 contender.

The tournament is now taking shape and the usual suspects are the only ones with real options to win and pass on the next rounds. Germany vs England will be one of the best matches I hope we can see that one.
70  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you think is the lowest point BTC will hit the next two years? on: June 24, 2018, 02:56:07 PM
Judging by technical analysis based on previous resistance points, I very much like the idea of $4900 being the bottom, and I think there are high chances that will be the lowest Bitcoin will ever be for the rest of time, because people are starting to get real worried at continuing gambling waiting a perfect entry point and FOMO will kick in creating a big green candle, and we will go back to $20k+

Worst case scenario, $1300 will be re-tested again. At that point anyone with a brain will be going all-in, selling their house, car and everything, because it will never get as good as that when it comes to entry points.

Those people would still lose because a smart investor never sell its house for such investment, when they sell their house for bitcoin investment at $1300 it would crash to $600. If they are so smart and risk takers they would sell their house for bitcoin right now. If it crashes to $1300, $6000 would be new $20.000

An investor that wants to go extreme mode and sells house + car + other goods in order to go all in first understands what he is investing into, or that is what I like to think. People that are stupid enough to do that without a lot of research and TRUST in what they are investing are insane and will end up selling at a loss out of fear.

The people that went all in in $1300, there's no problem if you can hold through bear markets. If someone wants to do that now, they must be able to hold, even if we crash from $5900 (current price) to $3000, if they can't hold, they will sell at a loss out of panic.

Guys, today is Messy's birthday  Cheesy let's congrats him and wish more goals! Hope the whole Argentine team will wake up and show good itself on the cup.
Argentina will not qualify for the next round despite being able to win and score in the next game because Argentina have not experienced a victory in the previous two games. World Cup this year a lot of surprises, many countries are not superior but able to beat the countries that many have famous players

If Nigeria manages to hold on to a draw against Argentina, then they will qualify. But it is going to be a very tough task.

BTW.. did any one read about the controversies surrounding the Serbia vs Switzerland match? The reputation of FIFA was tarnished after they shamelessly favored Switzerland during the match. Mitrovic was wrestled to the ground by two Swiss players and even then the penalty was not given.

^  Seeing how Argentina has been playing in this WC, it's very possible Nigeria can get a draw...  An easy draw imo.

So does anybody now think Ronaldo is better than Messi?  Ronaldo has some good leadership skills while Messi just looks at his team mates in a bad way if they miss a shot or do something wrong on the pitch.  Grin

I think Ronaldo is better than Messi at this point. Messi falls under pressure, that is very clear to me. And it is not only in the Argentinian selection team, if you look at the statistics, in the crucial high level matches, he doesn't score that many goals, even with Barca. When he is against very high skilled top 5 teams in the Champions he always underperforms too. Don't get me wrong he is a genius, but he doesn't have Ronaldo's intensity, he is always involved, even if he losses you can see it matters a lot of him, Messi is just more passive.

74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to know if a wallet.dat is a BTC wallet or an altcoin (small trick) on: June 11, 2018, 02:30:47 PM
Just found a massive stack of wallet.dat files from an old hard drive, this was really handful at trying to make sense out of it.

76  Economy / Economics / Re: Stanford University Business Full-Time Cryptocurrency Course on: April 12, 2018, 06:03:26 PM
There are many universities selling straight pseudo-scams

Merited for that.

Over the last decade, there have been many colleges and universities who have been caught approaching homeless people on the street and signing them up for educational government assistance (aka: "state funded student loans"). This isn't done out of the kindness of their heart, its done to prey upon homeless and saddle them with mountains of debt they could never repay, in order to profit off of additional taxpayer funding under circumstances where those enrolled are very unlikely to learn anything of value which helps them or gives them a better future. There have also been cases where students have enrolled in programs which cost in excess of $50,000 that teach no useful skills and were zero help in students obtaining a job in their chosen career path.

Unfortunately, "higher education" has often devolved into a money making scheme where zero information or skills of value can be learned, while students take on extreme levels of debt proportional to their future projections for wages.

It is possible this "blockchain business course" won't amount to much. It could be a liberal arts equivalent to learning about bitcoin and a complete waste of money. Its always nice to hear about bitcoin and crypto currencies gaining ground and being more widely supported but it might not be an exaggeration to think that maybe ICO scams have their equivalent in higher education, here.

Indeed, the scams in the education field is almost as high as the ICO field unfortunately, but some are legit, for example, this blockchain programing course directed by Jimmy Song:

http://programmingblockchain.com/

The contents seem very on-point and technical, so basically very useful stuff in there:

Quote
Learn the ins and outs of blockchain development in this interactive 2-day seminar. You will learn the details of how Bitcoin works including live coding challenges to sharpen your skills. You will learn:

    Finite Fields
    Elliptic Curves
    Elliptic Curve Cryptography
    Signing/Verifying Messages
    Parsing Transactions
    Signing Transactions
    Creating Transactions
    Script parsing and processing
Address construction/Private Key WIF Format Construction
    Parsing Blocks
    Validating Proof-of-Work
    Difficulty Calculations
    Merkle Tree Construction
    Merkle Proofs
    Network Message Parsing
    Segwit
Finding a job in Bitcoin Development

Probably overpriced for a 2 day course, but assuming you have some notions, it would be 2 very productive days. If you cannot afford it, just look at the contents on that course and search stuff for free related to these sections on the net.
77  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Happen Bitcoin OMG 8100$ ?? on: April 12, 2018, 05:40:05 PM
I don't see any news that can quickly push the price until $8k above, but my friends telling me that someone is investing a lot in bitcoin.

I found an article here https://www.ft.com/content/3d52eec8-3e54-11e8-b7e0-52972418fec4

According to this article, Santander is planning to use blockchain tech for their new foreign exchange.

Quote
Santander, the large Spanish lender, plans on using blockchain technology for a new foreign exchange payments system.

So this is the only reason that I think why the price jump at $8k then because of the day traders the price right now drop around $7700.

Well, hope that the price will continuously increase more soon because of this news.

The thing is, there doesn't need to be any particular news triggering this, just the fact that anyone that doesn't hold at least 1 BTC in 2018 while having enough fiat to have at least 1 BTC is an absolute moron, so people with enough money to get a good chunk are all looking at each other, seeing what the next move will be. These FOMOs can happen out of nowhere. Remember that the fundamentals are still as solid as always for Bitcoin. We don't need some stupid bank making some stupid "blockchain statement" to pump the price, it just takes people with money while knowing what Bitcoin is, finally taking a position in Bitcoin instead of gambling by hoping that you can get in cheaper, because there's always a bigger whale that can get in before you do, pumping the price, and then it's over because the rest will follow.

There are now a lot of speculations above this big move, some even say Soros got in... the point is, it doesn't really matter, this is a natural thing to happen in Bitcoin after a big correction. Everyone is looking for the perfect bottom, eventually a big whale stops risking it and goes in, rest follow to not be left behind.
78  Economy / Speculation / Massive shorts liquidations, $millions in losses as Bitcoin moons on: April 12, 2018, 02:20:36 PM
Wow, just look at this:

You can follow the Bitfinex bot here:

https://twitter.com/bitmexrekt

The fact that people are stupid enough to short Bitcoin at any rate never ceases to amuses me. Why would anyone be insane enough to short Bitcoin? you are sitting on cutting edge technology 10 years ahead of the curve, all you have to do is literally accumulate on each dip, sit back and get rich as fuck long term.

Please guys, stop doing drugs, and stop shorting Bitcoin, for your health's sake.
79  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Happen Bitcoin OMG 8100$ ?? on: April 12, 2018, 02:05:17 PM
Man I saw this on the train when I was looking at the price tag on my phone, I thought there was an error or something... then I realized what happened: All the people that expected the price to go to $4k got short squeezed the fuck out badly. Basically all these short positions are over now, so the price skyrocketed. Let's see who is stupid enough to still continue attempting to short Bitcoin. Bad idea to try to can't tame this beast, just hodl.
80  Economy / Speculation / Re: John eat-a-dick | Will he or won’t he? | ? Bitcoin price December 31 2020 on: April 11, 2018, 11:34:11 PM
Well, I got to admit something, he makes for a great bull:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZkn3nBp5aE

You can't say that his optimism isn't contagious, he gets you pumped and makes you believe $1,000,000 is possible by 2021, but he also predicts $1trillion by the end of this year (I mean $1trillion market obviously). Honestly is not that impossible. $1trillion marketcap could be easily achieved if a couple of whales diversify their portfolios into crypto (and that has to be Bitcoin unless they are insane).
