61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you want to know why I hate the dev team and how they treat Bitcoin... on: October 04, 2012, 11:24:05 PM
Then you should help out, or fork your own branch.  Sorry, it's open source, the devs can do what they like, and if you lack the knowledge to stop them, its your own problem.  That's the Free Market for you.

If you can't be bothered to learn the necessary skills, hire someone to do it for you.
62  Economy / Lending / Re: How to take out a bitcoin loan....the pro version. on: October 04, 2012, 10:32:15 AM
1.  Take out loan.
2.  Change forum name.
3.  Repeat.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin ever did go completely mainstream... on: October 04, 2012, 04:14:09 AM
It wouldn't make sense for bitcoin to kill fiat currency since it is entirely backed by fiat currency.

Face it, if you couldn't exchange bitcoins for dollars, not one single person would bother with them.  Just go to any thread where someone is scamming/selling something.  Everything is translated in US dollar value.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The EFF's damage to Bitcoin continues. on: October 04, 2012, 04:12:26 AM
Maybe the EFF doesn't consider BTC important enough to warrant their attention.  They have limited resources and have to choose their battles based on their own agenda.

Fine - except that their public statement is a nebulous pile of FUD and their direct statements to other non-profits downright discouraging of adoption.
They should be more cognizant of their effect on the rest of the non-profit community.

Their statement was based on advice from trained legal experts.  What about yours?

I'm sure Nazi germany had legions of "trained legal experts" before it went full facist retard also .... sometimes it IS just about what is right.

Aaaaaaand we're done.  EFF ≣ Nazi Germany.

You must be nibbling your own "assfruit" (what a disgusting reference btw) ... the implication was to the USA, since you didn't sniff that out right ....

USA=NAZI Germany

plain as nose on your face, sorry but it is true.

It crossed my mind for a moment that that's what you meant, but dismissed it under the belief that no one, even in the world of bitcoin,  could be as dumb as that.  I really need to learn not to make assumptions.

Wow, a Nazi Germany comparison.  I think maybe this situation is just a little bit different.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The EFF's damage to Bitcoin continues. on: October 04, 2012, 12:27:53 AM
Responding to earlier in this thread about the EFF.

You could ask the EFF to let their lawyer elaborate on, in writing, the pitfals in Bitcoin, taxation and law he considers dangerous. That would be helpful to Bitcoin being able to give an "official" argumented response to this, not to prove EFF wrong in general about this, but to disprove the arguments. If we ask them to help us on this it would make no sense to rant the EFF for being against Bitcoin. The EFF is important to the world for a lot of other reasons.

The Bitcoin Foundation is valuable exactly for a situation like this, and I'm sure they will need a lawyer at some point too.

There are a lot of NGO's, no need to force someone to be an early adopter.

Why?  They don't want to accept bitcoin.  They owe you no explanation.  This is your glorious Free Market selecting against Bitcoin.  Sorry, but EFF doesn't want it, and that is their right.

Quick note @ TheBible: I don't consider having my emergency access to non-legal wife's 401(k) revoked part of "the Bitcoiniverse."

Yeah, you're quite the victim here.

Man, you wiped out your own wife's retirement account on Internet Funny Munny.  You could have at least stopped at losing all your own money, but no, you had to break someone else before burning out.  That's cold, man.

I think what actually happened was the wife said "There is no way in hell you are taking my retirement to pay for your stupid online play money!" (paraphrased)

So he didn't actually wipe out the account, he just removed it from the list of assets available to him.

I sure hope so.

Bitcoin: Where getting back a tiny fraction of your initial investment counts as a resounding success.

If they can't tolerate people having their own perspective, that's just too damn bad.

The fucking irony.  You're the poster child for being unable to tolerate people having their own perspective - you label them "threats" to Bitcoin.

I do accept their perspective. I just won't accept their potential actions and influence.

You delete their posts.  We've all seen your wiki.  Anything you disagree with you simply silence.  You never even attempt discourse, you just delete.  You silence others to make your own views the only ones heard.  You're a fascist.

Ugh, this community never misses a chance to hate on women.  No wonder they want nothing to do with you spergs.

Just to be absolutely clear -- there is nothing that can happen in the Bitcoiniverse which would cause me to default on BDK.BND. There is no need for investors to worry.

Nothing in the Bitcoiniverse can happen to make him default on BDK.BND.

Guess an economy needs more than pretty words and blind trust to work.

Any tips on what to do next? I'm still a bit fuzzy about the details. Can we blacklist those funds somehow?

Figure out how it happened, gather details, file a police and FBI cybercrimes report.

Make sure the method of theft is not still open.

FBI, huh?  Gonna pay taxes on those bitcoins now to pay for that?
75  Economy / Lending / Re: 3000-6000 BTC loan - Hookah Lounge - 9/18/12 Update on: September 25, 2012, 07:16:37 AM
So you measure how much I love someone with volts?

Yup.  At the base level, all your emotions are the results of voltage flowing through your brain.

That doesn't cheapen it, but it is how your brain works.  Sorry you don't like that, but it is a solid fact.

As for your other question, at the moment, all we can capture is rough pictures, however, as the technology is refined, video will indeed be possible.

Now your turn, since you're suddenly interested in evidence.  What unit is this nebulous universal "energy" you're on about measured in?  How is it measured? And don't give me that "It can't be measured by science" shit.  If it influences this world, it can be quantifiably measured.

And here I thought these forums were caveat emptor.  The moment you lose, though, you run crying to the Big Government you hate so much to clean up your mess for you.  I guess you'll start paying taxes on your bitcoin earnings now that you're defending them with federal socialized resources.
77  Economy / Lending / Re: 2000-4000 BTC loan - Hookah Lounge on: September 18, 2012, 07:01:21 AM
I've been playing anywhere from 3-6 hours daily, recently.  I guess I'll have to post some more samples tomorrow.

How many hours are you spending each day on getting your hookah bar happening?  It's not going to be opening this year unless you start putting some serious time and effort into it.

He hasn't even contacted the real estate agent yet.  He did try twice, though.
78  Economy / Lending / Re: 2000-4000 BTC loan - Hookah Lounge on: September 18, 2012, 06:55:39 AM
Thanks, I will consider it.

If your plan is foolproof, as you believe it is, why not just go to a real bank with it?  They love making money; once they see your master plan, they'll shower you in it.
79  Economy / Lending / Re: 2000-4000 BTC loan - Hookah Lounge on: September 18, 2012, 02:51:48 AM
So dank, did you change your mind and launch Dank Glass or did someone steal your idea while you were practising guitar?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=110251.0
Looks like someone stole my idea, no worries, the hookah bar is my focus now.

No dank, that's enough.  In the time you've been "planning" this hookah bar, a serious businessman would have already had the grand opening.  You haven't done anything.  You haven't even talked to the real estate agent.  It's time to stop walking around in the fog you're in and realize that you haven't done anything, and at the rate you're going, you never will.

Stop making excuses.  Call the real estate agent.  Price real, restaurant quality furniture.  Stop being lazy and stop trying to cut corners.  Do it right, for once.  You keep talking about all you've accomplished, but so far, you don't even own a guitar but are convinced you'll soon be a rock star (with no lessons, of course), you don't even have a place to put a hookah bar because you won't call the real estate agent, dank glass was stolen from you by someone who actually has initiative, and you still don't have the loan you need to make any of this possible because your business plan is to magically will money into your bank account through the power of positive thinking.

I can't believe that you believe that what you believe becomes reality, and this is the reality you chose for yourself.  Get off your lazy, stupid ass and actually do something, you fucking sponge.  People all over lending are getting loans, and you're getting laughed at.  Just why do you think that is, dank?

I said I'd work on it over the next week, I'll post an update when I have something to share.

And just what are you so damned busy with?  A real job?  A girlfriend?  Family?  I guess I have to remind you again that potential investors will make their decisions based on your representation of yourself and your business idea in this thread, and so far, all they're going to see is a guy who asked for a loan before he even had his paperwork ready, is unwilling to do any of the research or prep-work necessary, who won't answer questions, and believes that magic will make his business successful.

Just who do you think is going to loan you money based on this, dank?

But damned if this isn't exactly what to expect from a libertarian leaning community.  Bitcoin was already a joke, but you dank, are the punchline.

Site just opened yesterday lol But I can bet you 1 thing, there will be no trolling in business threads or off topic post such as this one Cheesy
