66  Local / India / Re: ICICI Bank closing accounts involved in bitcoin trading? on: February 11, 2018, 07:14:22 AM
Received the below communication from ICICI Bank today early morning. Does this mean they will be closing the accounts of everyone involved in bitcoin trading?

We would like to bring to your notice the below important information on permissible usage of card transactions involving foreign exchange:
Under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999, a resident Indian is permitted to make only those foreign exchange transactions on ICICI Bank Cards or Account that are permissible and remittance in any form towards overseas exchange trading through internet/ electronic trading portals is not permitted.
Indian residents are therefore prohibited from trading in foreign exchange in domestic and overseas market, including binary option trading with commodities, stocks, indices, bitcoin index and forex etc.
Please make note of the prohibitions on using your ICICI Bank Cards or Account for such unauthorised transactions in contravention to the FEMA and the regulations issued thereunder and that violation(s), if any, would attract action under the extant laws and regulations against such residents.

In case such transactions are noted on your ICICI Bank Cards or Account, we shall be constrained to close your card or account without any liability or responsibility on the part of the bank.

Looking forward to your co-operation in helping us serve you better.

Sincerely,

It's not new, and not related to bitcoin. In FEMA rule you can't use your card directly to any exchange outside India for trading. You are lucky, they are just closing account, otherwise you did broke rules and Police can come to your home.

Good to know about this ..

Well OP did you use credit card or debit card ?
I sold some crypto on Zebpay, coinome and koinex and withdrawn INR to my ICICI Bank account.
Is it breaking any rule?

Does anybody know why the BTC  is decreasing his value?

FUD. Deliberate manipulation by the banksters.  It was over priced and it's just returning it where it should be in growth terms.

Completely right. Someone is going to double his crypto stakes during this recession. Chinese ban is just natural development, nothing else could have been expected. The thing with credit cards seems like a temporary fuss created to manipulate the market and make huge profits. It shows that even decentralized currencies are not really decentralized until news like this can affect the prices so tremendously.
do you think they rise their value?

Of course it will. These manipulations will only shake the weak hands out. Just be patient. If you don't have to sell then just hodl. Even if you are losing money right now, be patient.

I assume we should focus on BCA on this thread rather than discuss about price of BTC.

@BCA Team: Can you please just all sit together and do a retro and come up with a date? Does not matter if that is one year down the line but at least we will have a date and will STOP expecting anything from this team till that date. You guys are delaying it from day 1 by saying few days.. few days but not giving any concrete date. Don't think, any professional group of people would work like this and more so when you have already forked the blockchain.

I just got kicked out of their Telegram channel because I asked them the ETA of releasing their source code.
Not sure why are they so afraid of answering questions or even revealing names of the members working in their team when everything behind the scene is legit?

71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lykke - Semi-decentralized Exchange on the Blockchain on: January 28, 2018, 06:04:09 PM

Edit: Do you got any plans of allowing users (who were holding BTC at the time of respective forks in their trading wallet) to withdraw Bitcoin Gold as you're allowing for Bitcoin Cash?

Yes, here's a blog post with more details, no ETA yet though.

https://www.lykke.com/company/news/Lykke-Policy-for-Bitcoin-Gold
I have also read this post.
Do you got any more details about this since this post was published on October 23rd and today it's January 20th, 2018.

The team is already notified that users are requesting some new information about the distribution but I haven't heard of any ETA or new details yet. Distribution will be most likely similar to Bitcoin Cash fork.
Any further update on this? Is the team even working on this?

If I have my BTC in Coinomi wallet only, then will I automatically get same amount of BCA after the fork?
As of now, I don't see Coinomi supporting this coin.
73  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying 2-5 btc/day, Asian buyer on: January 22, 2018, 11:27:24 AM
Yes indeed, please use escrow for these transactions. 2 to 5 BTC daily is the kind of transaction you definitely will want to use escrow for. Trusted and reputable escrow members on this site. Agree and arrange with the escrow directly on their official pages, channels or emails.

SWIFT T/T is a good way to pay but I would suggest not adding anything about bitcoin on field 70 of the MT103 reference box. Even if both the sender's and receiver's banks are relaxed about bitcoin transactions, there is always a chance that the correspondent or intermediary bank relaying the payment might reject bitcoin-related payments and either reverse it or delay the transmission. This risk is heightened when large transactions are being transferred. To make it a hassle-free wire, don't mention bitcoin.

Thanks a lot for the information.
We have talked and the seller will be putting in escrow Tether and we would be buying Bitcoin
I would talk to the escrow providers and then confirm to the seller.

Thank you vey much for the help Smiley

Why would seller not be putting exact amount Bitcoin in escrow for which you'll make wire transfer to seller's bank account?

Hi Smiley
The seller informed me because of the fluctuations in price its harder to use bitcoin but tether seemed ok to me as it is usually stable, what do you think?

You would be willing to accept less bitcoin than what you actually agreed for when you initiated the wire transfer?

It depends upon your agreement with the seller. If you're dealing in terms of accepting bitcoin price at the time seller receives your money in their bank account then you go with Tether and then ask seller to send you bitcoin as per that day's rate and then ask escrow to release Tether to seller.

Even in this scenario why not ask escrow to release you let's say 90% of escrowed bitcoin and 10% back to seller as bitcoin price increased (in case bitcoin was kept in escrow initially)?

Ah thanks a lot for the information Smiley I would talk to the seller right away regarding this as i would prefer to get the amount of bitcoins on the day money is received.
I see in the signature you sell as well, would it be possible to talk to you regarding a sale as well, i am for some reason not able to pm, so if there is a way to contact you that would be much appreciated.

Sorry, I would not be able to sell you the amount of BTC you are looking for.

Hi
I had used Lykke to send ETH to an exchange and it has been 5 days now, it has not yet reached there, on writing to support lykke has told its cleared from there side, so I had written to the support of that exchange and they have told that ,

You have sent transaction in a non-standard way. We do not process transactions included in other contracts.

Now I am in a loss of $1000, so how will I solve this? Is there a way in which I can get my ETH back? Please help out.

I never knew lykke was using smart contracts to deliver ETH!
Maybe after this incident they have started warning users about the way they send ETHER out as now I can see some warning telling the user before transferring ETHER out.

79  Local / India / Re: Zebpay's New app started Death of bitcoin in india on: January 19, 2018, 10:03:20 AM
Now Zebpay is peer to peer trading of bitcoin in india

correct term , but why ?

Is zebpay don't have more money to invest or Indian GOV told to do so ?

As an exchange they should be P2P from start but they are making money as a middle man or dalla , i think last month IT raid they are pushed to change there role as true exchange and not holding the money

Now you can see no excitement is left in bitcoin after this in India

How do you know that they're not placing bid themselves to fill up the market order?

Want to sell $1700 pm for bitcoin. What's your rate? And can u do more than 5trades worth of that in a day?
Yes, I can.
Rate would depend upon bitcoin price at the time of the trade.
OK. So u use regular price like the price in preev? And I will love to trade with u now
Yes.
