Thanks again pekatete !!! How hard are you pushing your S3? I have a server room that I can use with A/C! With two power supplies for each miner AX860 ATX Power Supply — 860 Watt.
Best I'm doing (not in a server room, but in my garden ... in winter) is freq 282.25 voltage 0825 getting approx 560GH/s and a low HW% running off a single 550W server PSU on a 220v-240v input. Not all my rigs will run that freq, but most will run @ 262.5 (and they all run off 550W server PSU's). Do you use all 4 PCI-e connections?

The latest firmware (since Oct 2014) is crap on many levels, but that is a sidenote. For a start, I'd desist from changing voltages on that as the default setting of 0000 seems to find its sweet spot, and to add to that (and as you realised) it seems when you set a voltage with the newer firmware, you consistently loose hashrate and have to restart cgminer to recover it. In my opinion, not worth it! If you have the Oct firmware, reflash your rig (a user also posted one here) Never come accross the permission denied error on an S3 ... are you logging in via SSH as root? Oh man, and i just updated the f/w from the october one to the newest =/ Should i go back? Thought i'd run some OC tests with it.

Is anyone running the newest firmware from Bitman ? I keep playing around with Voltage and Frequency settings but my hash rate spikes to over 500 for a couple of hours but then drops below 400 ?? why ?? my temps are 38 to 40 ?? I also cant edit my /usr/lib/lua/luci/model/cbi/cgminer/cgminer.lua (Permission denied ) file for frequencies higher than 250 ? Any Ideas ?
I had the same permission denied. Did you write vi? As in: vi /usr/lib/lua/luci/model/cbi/cgminer/cgminer.lua

Nice work you guys have done here =) very impressed ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Are we waiting for jabber and his UART boards? =)

So how can i add more of those frequencies? The other thread didn't give any guidelines
Which firmware version do you have ? You should update it to the October one. that's my guess I tried both October f/w. But gonna try once more when i get home. Never had a permission denied on that file. forgot to write vi ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Looks like (hope) the S3 control board is broken rather than the hashing boards....
Yes, i was right. Bought an S3 couple of weeks ago and tried my S1 upgrade kit hash boards on it and the work fine. It's the S1 upgrade kit control board which doesn't work =( Gonna try to ask Bitmaintech if i can get/buy a new one.

Don't remember. But not so much...

So he closed down the site and ran with our money?

Didn't help with the f/w update to S3 =( The controller board lighted up nicely on another S1 and updated the f/w without problems when i made the update. Looks like (hope) the S3 control board is broken rather than the hashing boards....

Yes, there is a reset button on the smaller S1 cotrol board and i tried it yesterday and didnt help =( Havent looked but is there a reset button on the bigger control board also? But the red light on the bigger control board is so weak that you almost cant see it, doesnt light up as led lights on my other S1. So something is wrong =( Gonna try some stuff when i get home later and see where i stand. Thanks for the reply mate =)

So you should update the firmware before you dissemble your S1? Could try it have to just order more thermal paste first. RMA? Have to go to sleep now. Gonna look at it tommorow. Thanks

Yes; i read about it too about cables not been seated. The weird thing is that it worked for 30-60 sec when i went upstairs. And now the red led on the "S3" board barely lights up and fans on full speed. Maybe a faulty "S3" board then. Or could it be something wrong with the S1 control board? What should i do? =( Thanks for the replies.

hope so. I did that, checked that they were seated. You can only put the cables one way? gonna check the cables one more time little bit later. I should have enough power with a corsair cx600?

Hi! Got my upgrade kit today. I followed the youtube video. Everything went well and i powered it up. Lights strt to blink on the control boards and the Lan connection. Then i went upstairs to my computer to make the firmware update to S3 firmware. Before i managed to login to my upgraded S1 i hear suddenly that the fans started to blow full power making lot of noise and went down stair to check. Found that no lights were blinking. One led light (red) were barely lighten up on the new controller board, you almost couldnt see it.
I checked all the cables tried with 2 PSU (Corsair CX600) at the same time. no progress =(
Any ideas or tips? Is my upgrade kit f****d up? =(
Thanks
