Some people have lots of rigs that could potentialy be unstable from time to time, and go down. Also, you may not have time to check these many rigs often. So in this circumstance, well then it makes more sense to have rigs with less GPUs. People that have more time to babysit their rigs and/or have less rigs may not be bothered by this. So they may want to have rigs with more GPUs, as this will save you money because you don't have to buy so many other components. That said. There are ways that you can set your PC up to startup running the miner software after auto-login. This way if your computer becomes unstable and it restarts unexpectedly, it will automatically start mining again once it restarts. Also if you spend some extra time tuning your GPUs, you can make it 99% stable. My personal preference is, the more GPUs on one rig the better.  Its kind like HAREM. Though sometimes got problem there. |

So one thing I've noticed in my time in this forum is how many of the experts here recommend 6-GPU builds instead of recommending 12-GPU builds.
Is this because of personal preference, or do you think that you should start small as a beginner? Because obviously, 6-GPU builds are less cost efficient than planning for expansion from the beginning.
Let me know what your thoughts are!
I still prefer 8 or 12 build if available. Cause I don't see any problem with that. Just don't push it to max, so will got no problem there. |

Hi Everyone,
Just wondering if someone could please lend me a hand.
I have 6 RX 470s and 1 Rx 580, once I install the driver and patch it I get windows to see the rx470s with the yellow triangle and the ! but the rx580 is recognized just fine.. Then I restart and get a black screen.
I am able to get the 6 Rx 470s to work by own their own but not with the 580. Can they be mixed?
Suggestions or ideas welcomed. Thank you for any help you can provide me.

The problem is not in the drivers. Even before i installed the AMD blockchain drivers my system in Windows only detected 6x GPU's.
I went and changed the bios setting in the PCI configuration section from Auto to Gen1 for all 7x ports that show up and managed to get 7 out of 8 cards that i have connected now.
Again. My mining speed is very good 30Mh/s. The problem is that windows or motherboard or bios i dont know, wont show all of my cards.
I used the patcher too so no worries about that either.
Anyone else experiencing issues with this mobo?
Yo, it because you use Blockchain Driver. Others can only see 7 GPU. It will shown after you change driver (for me 17.11.4 AMD Drivers). Why not try it? Is it really hard just to download that driver? |

B250 Mining expert is available here in my country and cheaper than the H110.. should I get the B250 Mining expert ? any difference? No need for add2psu for using more than 2 psu. i'm going to buy one myself, does it detect all the 13 gpu without doing anything?
i think i can do a 1500 watt-one -cpu build with 12x 1070ti underpowered at 55%-60% tdp, i see no reason to push the gpu at 90-100%, the gain is minimal...
For me, max I can get stable only 12 GPU (AMD), can get 13 GPU but 2 last card will get halved hash. For that 12 AMD RX 5xx using 1300-1400w. 1500w PSU I think can go for 1320w max on wall. |

You need to use Windows 10 1709 (Fall Creator Update) and 17.11.4 AMD Drivers and don"t forget to change mode to COMPUTE for all GPU.
Hello Yes i am using the latest windows version. Updated and everything. Version 1709. The drivers i am using are 17.30.1029 and there isn't anywhere that i can change the settings to compute as i have read elsewhere. I have flashed all of my 6x cards that windows detected using AtiFlash and a modded bios version specifically for my card. Windows wasn't detecting the 7th card with stock bios either.  this is what i see in the bios when i log in. btw i can only log in to bios when my screen is connected to the onboard graphics. About the noob question above. No the mobo DOES NOT come with a heatsink for your cpu. You get the stock heatsink packaged with the cpu unless you buy a tray version. Its easy. 1. Right click windows icon >> device manager >> go to your gpu >> right click GPU >> uninstall >> delete the driver software for this device >> do it for all your GPU. 2. Right click my computer >> advance system setting >> hardware >> device installation setting >> NO >> save change. 3. Go to safe mode or just do DDU and then restart your PC. 4. Download AMD driver 17.11.4 >> you can search it on google and then install it. 4xxx >> I forgot this step >> IMPORTANT STEP if using mod bios >> run amd/ati pixel clock patcher. 5. Restart PC >> go to amd setting >> gaming >> global setting >> change mode from graphic to COMPUTE >> do it to all your GPU. 6. Restart PC again and then start mining. |

I'm planning a rig with 7 zotac gtx 1070 ti amp extremes. They require dual 8 pin power input. My original plan was to use 2 corsair (RM850x, 850W, Fully Modular Power Supply, 80+ Gold Certified).
However, that PSU only has 5 8-pin connections each. If I move up to the 1000w psu, it only has 6 8-pin connections.
Do I use 6 pin to 8 pin adapters or do I need to upgrade to 1300w psu's with more peripherals?

Use adapter is enough for me. Just need to check the cable for 24 hours just to be sure that it not hot. If hot replug it again, till it really fit and not hot. Use good splitter. Split 1 8pin cable into 2 8pin cables? Are there any safety or performance issues with the GPU when doing it this way? Actually I only use RED GPU, I use rm1000x for 7 GPU, it got PCIE Cables 4 x [(6+2)x2], 1 cable for 2 RX 5xx/4xx and its already months with no issue (no performance loss). I only need to check it for 1st 24 hours, and issues maybe on sata cable to riser (sometimes hot>>need to replug) and after 24 hours if not hot. It will stay like that for months. Of course I keep checking it for each week. Oh I forgot to mention that I only mine cryptonight algo. |

I just ordered this one too. Noob question, does it come with the cpu heat sink or is that something extra I need to buy? Again..I am a NOOB!
Of course you got that CPU heatsink if buying processor. Are you saying it comes with one or I need to buy one separately? Usually it comes with one processor (even you buy tray processor, in my country it come with cpu heatsink, boxed always come with it). But for better, ask the seller. |
