61  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN is useless!? on: August 18, 2018, 03:08:37 AM
Bitcoin hedead to zero?
The former ceo of paypal Bill harris said that, bitcoin's value will continue to dwindle until it gets "eventually a whole lot closer to zero."and saying that there's just no value in bitcoin and "Bitcoin makes no revenue, no profitability."
he also called the cryptocurrency is a
"colossal pump-and-dump scheme, the likes of which the world has never seen."
I think this is non-sense, what about you?

Source: cnbc

The people who don't understand the underlying technology and potential of Bitcoin are always ready to criticize it when Bitcoin drops. We all know that cryptocurrency markets are too volatile and these coins will reacts heavily based on small news also. Recently we saw with the news of Facebook Q3 earning, the market cap of more than 130 billion dollars are evaporated. But Bitcoin is not even have market cap of 130 billion dollars. So even Bitcoin dropped 90% from ATH then this can overcome easily in near future.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the world ready for cryptocurrency? on: August 18, 2018, 03:03:22 AM
Although there are a few countries who uses bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies now, I cannot help but wonder if the world is truly ready for this digital currency? It will certainly be hard to replace all currencies in the world but it could happen in a decade or so, perhaps even less? Still the question is, is the world ready? I think if this happens it might be one of the biggest changes that will happen worldwide.

I think everything from infrastructure, regulation and custody solutions are developing in rapid phase and once everything in place then we all will be ready to use Cryptocurrency for daily use. In my view this process will take 12 to 24 months from now. We need to wait patiently until that time.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's stop comparing Bitcoin to Ethereum or any other Cryptos on: August 18, 2018, 02:56:21 AM
I don't think it is relevant to compare Bitcoin to Ethereum or comparing any other cryptos to each other. I know its quiet tempting to compare Bitcoin to Ethereum because of their reputations in terms of their market cap and volume. But I do believe that the source of doubt in most people in the crypto community is mostly because of this comparisons made about cryptocurrencies. People who don't really know and understand the ideas and purpose of the creation of cryptocurrency will just share their ignorance to the world, which is not help the crypto market. People sell their cryptos just because they heard that a particular coin is better than the coin they have. To add to these, I believe dumping of crypto coins is also as a result of this kinda comparisons made by people.  Please let's find a way to talk about cryptos rather than comparing them to each other...... Huh Huh Huh

I completely agree with you. The target users for Bitcoin and Ethereum are entirely different as per their objectives intially. Bitcoin is targeted to replace the fiat currency whereas Ethereum wants to be fuel for cloud computing and Decentralised internet. After some time all of us believed that Ethereum also can be used more efficiently than Bitcoin. But Ethereum failed to fulfil the charectestics of money and Ethereum will never replace fiat portion because it is not designed to meant for money.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it better to buy during ICO or Market? on: August 10, 2018, 01:53:46 PM
I noticed that many investors were afraid to buy during ICO because their reason they are cheaper can be bought on market. Especially when they found out  that a large percentage is allotted in the bounty program. Many Bounty Hunters  immediately selling token/coin even lower than the ICO price.

#Datarius

If the project is having alot of attention from the community and backed by VCs then it is good to pick at ICO otherwise if you feel the project is good but largely sold in private sale and presale and few portion left for public community then waiting until hit the market is good. Because once the token hit the market the preslae holders are usually dump in large and that will lead to price crash. So you can pick some at that time.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where do you read about crypto news? on: August 10, 2018, 01:50:35 PM
Keeping up with the market definitely helps when investing into altcoins or cryptocurrencies. I looked through many publications and personally I read these ones:

1) Cointelegraph
2) Hacked.com
3) CryptoSlate
4) BitcoinNews
5) CCN
6) Coinspeaker.

Of course, also Twitter and Telegram. What do you guys think? Any recommendations? Smiley

Apart from this Coindesk is also one of the old and good source for news and recently ICOdrops telegram announcement channel getting alot of members because they are keenly following ICO space.

ICO rating, Smith and crown are good to read about their research on ICO market.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to evaluate potential ICO projects? on: August 10, 2018, 01:47:07 PM
As I known, ICO is a kind of risky investment. Similar to the IPO which is the form of invite for capital investment, but when buying IPO, investors can research the information about the company they invested, find out about official finance reports and be protected by law when joining. In contrast, ICO projects are often rather ambiguous and unprotected by government so the risk is so high for investors.
So how to evaluate a potential ICO project, look forward to receiving comments from you  Smiley

You need to see the project potential in market and you have to assess like is there any competitors for the targeted market. Need to see the team strength and experience. Potential partnerships between huge corporate companies. They need to develop the project code minimum before raising the capital like MVP.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin future on: August 10, 2018, 01:41:11 PM
6 month holding life running with altcoin. I don't get any profit from altcoin. my question is really have any future for altcoin? I just tired with altcoin.please drop your suggestion.
thankss😭

I think Altcoin will lead the future of Blockchain technology. But as of now we don't know which altcoins it can be. We should be careful watching this space and have to alter our positions to altcoins which are getting popularity by the public in future.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocurrencies are going down on: August 10, 2018, 01:35:53 PM
All cryptos are going down rapidly. What is the reason. Where is the bottom?
Looks like we will have new opportunity to invest with low prices.

This is due to pending decision on ETF by SEC. Most of them are expected approval in few days but SEC is delaying their decision ETF. We can now expect the decision on VenEK and SolidX ETF by September 30th as per the recent announcement. But due to this delay people are speculating and selling their valuable crypto at very cheap prices. ETF will be definitely approved but the decision time will be delayed.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What cryptocurrency should I buy now? on: August 10, 2018, 01:32:04 PM
What cryptocurrency should I buy now?

Always I suggest anyone to buy Infrastructure and protocol development based tokens. Because in future on top of these projects most of the Dapps will be created. At that time the infrastructure or protocol token will have enormous value which is needed for every Dapps running on top of these infrastructure projects. Ex : NEO, Qtum, ETH, Elastos, and many.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify Good and legit bounties on: August 10, 2018, 01:29:26 PM
Please i will like to ask the community what and what must I consider before joining a bounty campaign am still not clear on that.. And I got to know not all Bounties are good to join.. From experience all my effort on metal Factory was a waste as the thread was removed and my 3 weeks posting and sharing was all for nothing.

You better follow ICOdrops where they are listing only potential projects which will be disruptive in future. And projects listed in ICOdrops are able to collect their hardcap comfortably. So you can participate in those projects if they have any bounty campaigns.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good timing to buy altcoins? on: August 10, 2018, 01:24:16 PM
The cryptocurrency market is the excessive volatility. The prices of cryptocurrencies on exchange platforms rise and fall dramatically over a short period of time.
So is it a good timing to buy altcoins?

I think right now is good time to pick solid project tokens. But some people are saying it will be like catching falling knife. When you see market rebounding then you can invest at whatever amount you wish to take risk. So that your risk return ratio will be good.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I currently have 5 ETH. I should buy an ICO on: August 10, 2018, 01:18:52 PM

I currently have 5 ETH. I should buy an ICO. I need advice from you. please give me a list of trusted ico

You can put your 50% of ETH in rare and high quality ICOs which are may be rated as very high or high from various rating agencies like Cryptobriefing, Coin Bloq, ICO drops etc., You will see the returns in days or months from ICO investments. But right now the ICO market is very bad. Even higher potential ICOs are not able to generate good returns.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too many Altcoins without value? on: August 04, 2018, 10:30:30 AM
Maybe it's just my perception, but in these times when new coins appear every day, it seems to me that most of them lack value.

I have seen that many currencies are created based on an idea, that they intend to be used for something, even though at present they are useless, they are based on the hope of being used. I hallucinate seeing how some collect millions in the ICOs only promising that they will be adopted en masse, only selling an idea that has not yet been started or developed.

I wonder what chance of success has a currency that is defined as "the new currency that will replace Bitcoin" or any other great concept if only based on a theoretical idea.

Do you have to create the currency first and then wait for a community to be created that uses it?
Would not it be better to have a community first than willing to give the currency a real use before creating it?

I believe that for the creation of a new currency to make sense, it has to respond to a real need for the exchange of goods and services, if we only buy a coin with the hope of selling it more expensive, if there is not a community that supports it, We will be betting on a pyramid system, and we all know how those systems end.

That is just my opinion. I do not know what others will think.

Currently in Korea we are seeing Reverse ICO concept like the existing business who have userbase in millions are trying to raise money in ICO and they want to introduce utility token which can reduce the cost of their operating expenditure, this way will give potential returns to investors unlike investing in project having only whitepaper.

I would like to invest in project having whitepaper onlyI if the team is too strong and had enough expertise to build the project as what they are promising.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its time to move on, and ignore the BTC !!! on: August 03, 2018, 11:29:30 AM

For me it's clear, from the moment BTC went to the Dow it slide down and be played by the big boys.
More and more we see up's and down's controlled by some big players between 6000 and 7500.
Alt coins are following that vibe, and some step out the line but be pushed in the direction the big players want.
I ask myself who is behind it, are governments behind it that not like the BTC and want it pushed down to get people frustrated.
So frustrated that many of us, get sick and tired of the up line pushed down already few time around 7400.
Ofcourse we are human, and after some push down's, we want to be strong and not give up.
But we also not want to be that person that miss the boot, where the rest break and sell the BTC.
It's almost 12 o clock when this price will go up around 7400 again, and drops down again i see a huge drop coming.
And the faith in going up higher, will be lost more and more. And that is what they want.

So what are you going to do ?   Am I wrong ?      It's massive indoctrination dunn by huge selling dumps.

We have 2 options Guys, let them play with us and let them win.

Or show them that BTC is much stronger then some Jealous scary Government, they need to be stopped.

We can only win this battle if you leave your finger off the Sell button.

Succes gr Bas  sorry for shitty English

You will regret because of lost faith on Bitcoin in near future.

We need only regulation to move BTC up and that is on the way but delayed. In terms of technical development there is huge support coming from the experts all over the world.

Recently Institutional investors looking as a promising investment oppertunitiy or to hedge their risk.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are banks and governments scared of Bitcoin? on: August 03, 2018, 11:18:46 AM
So many countries now were prohibiting the use of virtual cryptocurrencies. And to think that many unemployed individuals were beginning to uplift their way of living because of their dealings with cryptocurrencies. Banks doesn't expressly say why it is banning the use of Bitcoin.
What do you think is the reason behind this?

In India also RBI put restrictions on banks to deal with any exchanges but they didn't mentioned any specified or threats for using cryptocurrencies. They are simply saying that it has been done for investors protection .

They are getting fear because of Cryptocurrencies can replace the fiat and eliminate their power on money circulation.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: crypto currency ban in india on: August 03, 2018, 08:50:05 AM
If only bank of india banned cryptocurrency and not the government, maybe it is not totally a real problem of cryptocurrency business, and I'm sure there is a future solution on that certain issue. And this is not the first time I heard about issues of banning about cryptocurrency, some issue of banning is a total banned by government but it has already resolved by the management of cryptocurrency business.

As of now in India even though banks are stopped supporting exchanges which are dealing with cryptocurrencies but exchanges are tried to solve the problem in a innovative way by introducing peer to peer transactions where individuals can transfer the money to others with the help of exchange with escrow facility.

Recently Koinex introduced its Koinex loop for Peer to peer trading

And Wazirx also launched peer to peer trading with open order book facility.

Huobi is also planning to launch P2P in near future in India.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who will benefit the most from bitcoin/cryptocurrency? on: August 03, 2018, 08:31:48 AM
I have a friend who is interested in getting into bitcoins but he does not have a lot of savings or any major investments. He also has a lot of debts to pay and has an average wage job with a family of 4 to raise. When we were talking yesterday, I thought: who really would benefit the most from investing in bitcoin or cryptocurrency? Can those who are like my friend get into bitcoin even though he has no major investment? Or is bitcoin only for those who can afford it?

As of now or in 2017 everyone trying to invest in bitcoin due to its massive growth rate which is never seen in any kind of investment in any asset. This much growth attracted by retail and Institutional investors.

But what Bitcoin is trying to solve is to reach the people who don't have access to financial services till now and to mobilise funds from anywhere to anywhere at anytime at very cheap price.

If your friend is not in a position to buy bitcoin now then he can get bitcoin by participating in bounties where he can earn ICO tokens and which can be exchanged to Bitcoin later on.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Cryptocurrency Stand Without Bitcoin? on: August 03, 2018, 08:25:52 AM
I mean Why bitcoin? Why waste huge energy in mining. As everyone know bitcoin is useless in terms
of usability.
My question to bitcointalk users :

Is this possible that any altcoin become no 1 on coinmarketcap and bitcoin disappeare

I think this can be possible, what you think so comment below...

I don't know whether Bitcoin can sustain in future or not but the blockchain space is looking very interesting. Day by Day the experts from every corner of the world are trying to solve the problems in the blockchain industry like scalability and Interoperability and many others.

But in my view no Altcoin will replace the Bitcoin due to its scarcity and contains properties of medium of exchange.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Current cryptocurrency market situation on: August 03, 2018, 08:20:47 AM
What is your opinion on the current market situation?  2018 has not been our year. It's been quite rough for cryptocurrency prices, with the most recent slump being from June 10, the market continues to fluctuate and change. But things seem to be looking up and bitcoin has reached its peak this summer, topping $8,000.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/what-is-going-on-with-the-crypto-markets-experts-share-opinions

Really 2018 is very rough and tough for cryptocurrencies. We hope that ETF will be approved by mid August but as what I am seeing in SEC rejection reasons are abscent of custodial solutions for Institutional solutions and regulations stopping the ETF approval.

I think the first ETF will be approved by the first quarter of 2019.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Earnings from long time Holdings on: July 28, 2018, 03:33:23 PM
Hi, how many of you have a successful story/earning from long time holdings? How many months or years that you hold it and what coin/s is/are that?

I am a holder and it seems like im loosing my patience with the particular coin that I am holding right now so I want to gain some inspiration from you when it terms with holding.

My case also same like you. I entered in ICO market in 2017. I invested in few good projects which deserves long term holding for fruitful results. But our token values are declining more than ever now and even trading below ICO prices. This is because we are in crypto winter. Lots of regulation and development is going on in background compared to previous years. This is not reflected in terms of pricing. Because there is no pure mechanism to determine the value of tokens. Everyone is speculating token prices based on future expectations. I believe our long term holding on good tokens will give fruitful profits in future.
