601  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Chili – 30+GH/s BFL based Bitcoin Miner Assembly on: November 18, 2013, 01:48:19 PM
Well, I ran into a problem with two of my Chili's.  I installed ARCTIC Accelero Twin Turbo II units on all the boards but two of them dropped down to 22Gh/s at 67C.

One of the two was in service for weeks before the problem and the other ran fine for two days before it happened.

I used "Fujipoly Ultra Extreme System Builder Thermal Pad - Full Sheet - 200 x 150 x 0.5 - Thermal Conductivity 17.0 W/mK" and the Arctic back plate to prevent flexing.

Should I try using the Arctic paste on these two instead?

-BrimStone

Just a heads up, when I used the EVOs on mine, a couple of them would go to 18-22GH. All I did was unscrew and redo the heatsink and if the Fujipoly pad was too damaged, replaced that. It always fixed the issue, it seems that they can be really sensitive at some points.

Let's say Ken does pull it off.

He announces loads of terramonsters under Active Mining control are mining for ActM.
And he gets an alternative exchange up and running.
And let's say each share of ActM goes for .009
After all, AsicMiner went from under a btc to 4 btc in a short time.
And let's say Bitcoin prices keep climbing and stabilize at $600 US
That would mean that if you own 10K shares of ActM, and sell it when those aforementioned events come to pass,
you will have $54,000 US.

Imagine that, selling your 10K shares of ActM and then selling the bitcoin proceeds and transferring $54,000 to your checking account.

What if you have 50,000 shares of ActM (unsecured loan)?
Then you would have $270,000 US

And, if you are one of those foolish people who has 100K of ActM shares (of unsecured loan),
you would be able to sell it all for $540,000 US.

For the price to reach this high, dividends would have to be enormous. If dividends are enormous why would you sell? If BTC is $600/each (in your scenario) then ActMs chips would be good for much much longer than anticipated and Ken could literally have PHs of equipment running before hitting the similar roadblock ASICMiner hit with space/power/cooling/etc...

The potential is still very good for ActM, it all relies on if this chip works at spec and how quickly eASIC can pump them out and how fact ActM can deploy them.
603  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast launches sales of the Baby Jet on: November 17, 2013, 02:44:51 AM
You can be guaranteed that they will ship before Jan. 1.  Even if it is broken, consumes 10x the power, 1/2 the hash rate, and uses someone else's chips, you will be sure they will ship

Wanna bet?

(No, I've not learned my lesson about those kind of bets yet.)

I will bet if u are willing.   HashFast is a US located and registered company.  They have binding arbitration agreement in their contract.   They essentially lose everything by not shipping by 1 Jan.

Would be a great way of getting out of all those MPPs though, considering they have seperate "deadlines" for the rest of their batches.

Chips are incoming, should expect something in the next week or so.

Hi All

We've created a captioned public album of the recent site visit to the data center. Here it is:
https://plus.google.com/photos/100533316768811011163/albums/5946837483879253265?sort=1

Even though security is very tight, we'll try to keep the exact location as confidential and "need to know" as possible for the time being.

We're glad to be working with a data center which is not only willing (and able) to cater to our "special needs", but also excited by the future prospects of the Bitcoin mining space. Throughout the process they've been extremely helpful and understanding of the changing technical specifications.

EDIT: Comments on the album are left deliberately open to the public.

Very good pictures, a nice relief from the usual pixelated low res images most give out.

It almost makes HashFast being so late seem even more of a tragedy considering how prepared IceDrill is.

So no IPO funds were required for the first batch and all the other components needed to make the miners?

So the IPO money was for a chip design and that was all? Damn.

Well we don't know the specifics due to eASIC's NDA. We don't even know exactly how much was raised (FIAT) from the IPO. Don't get so worried, we have plenty of funds.

and nobody in their right mind would wait until they are ready to buy first batch chips, and THEN convert to fiat.  Labken has already referred to the conversion process before as a "long and painful process".  A good assumption: any BTC that was ever sent to him has already been converted.  If there was any BTC left over then it should be in the report, but it's not.

You can get a preferred account on coinbase for a daily sell limit of 500 BTC. Receive the money 2 days after. It's not a very long and painful process anymore.

This is now.  That was then.  You think he held onto some BTC knowing that coinbase would eventually help him many months later?  That makes no sense.  Nobody knew to hold onto BTC either because nobody knew it would quadruple in price.

Let me help you navigate my response.

When he takes in BTC NOW from Sales it can be converted easily. That is all, if you read into this anymore especially with your shitty attitude all you would be doing is assuming and would be wrong.

The reports show he has cash to spend on the large batch purchase so why would he even need to convert BTC now?

INB4 "Liabilities and can't spend etc...." right, and this has stopped any company ever from doing so.

Hopefully we have an exchange to trade shares on before the end of the year.

If this company wasn't in fucking USA land of the slaves this would not be an issue.

The rub, of course, being "but it is."  Maybe Belize will intervene  Undecided

as far as i know, admin of crypto-trade has contacted kslaughter - so maybe there will be a good solution soon.
but since i'm not directly assigned to crypto-trade it's not up to me to make any decision nor do i know any details..

Interesting,

What makes Crypto-Trade different from any of the past security exchanges regarding getting shut down?

JFYI on difficulty. For whoever cares. Last eight difficulty percentage increase, and next estimated difficulty:

29%
32%
29%
32%
27%
41%
46%
30%
12% <-- based on estimated difficulty from bitcoincharts.com

If true, we might see a well reduced jump in difficulty. That would be nice.   Smiley

http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty estimates 18%.  Sad

Eligius has a bot that is usually pretty accurate as we get closer to the Jump Date.

Current Blocks: 269749
Current Difficulty: 510929738.01615
Next Difficulty At Block: 270143
Next Difficulty In: 394 blocks
Next Difficulty In About: 2 days, 4 hours, 32 minutes, and 0 seconds
Next Difficulty Estimate: 589022083.29066402
Estimated Percent Change: 15.2843609334

I know they are delayed until mid-Dec.  Why are you stating an obvious widely-known fact as if I wasn't aware of it, dressing it up as some kind of 'Gotcha?'
You parade around like a lunatic saying they have silicon implying they are going to start hashing soon. Either you are admittedly trolling or are just in that denial stage of grief.

It does matter what they have in hand right now.  Your idiotic 'always-and-never' put-down is trivial to debunk.  EG, would you rather HashFast NOT have chips in-hand (perhaps delayed until Jan like Cointerra)?

HashFast will be delayed until January more than likely, my wishes have nothing to do with their shortcomings.

If they're delayed past Dec 31 I get a refund in BTC.  That's fine with me.  Good on IceDrill for wisely forgoing MPP in favor of a bet on BTC appreciation vs fiat.

Sorry again, a nice dose of reality again. IceDrill has already paid quite a bit of money on their datacenter I'm sure. HashFast might not even give them back the exact BTC they paid but instead subsidized at USD level meaning you would get back 1 BTC for every 4 or 5 spent. Be sure that if this were to happen it would be LESS "USD" than you put in at the time due to datacenter costs.

My mid-Dec Sierra is far from a paperweight.  Your shrill minimization of a 1.2+ TH beast's potential ROI in USD underscores the deficiency of your argument.
Yes, enjoy your ~25BTC over it's lifetime.
The ~180 BTC you paid for it means nothing LOL.

I'm happy your KnCs are doing so well, as are the KnCs in the group buys in which I participated.  Have fun fiddling with firmware, while I sit back and collect dividends with zero effort.   Wink
Like usual you are wrong,
All 11 KnCs are Hosted without worry. Paid for themselves and hosting about a week ago. Got 6 more months of "zero effort" mining.

Don't both responding to this as I've put you back on ignore, all you do is come in and bring threads off topic with personal vendettas. I'm more interested in what Will and Deadterra are doing to remedy this situation, they don't want to get a refund because they have the datacenter ready. They want extra hashpower to make up for HashFast being so damn late but sadly I don't believe HashFast will have the Silicon available to give them this. It's not a good situation to be in for either Company.

Hi All

Just a quick update:
1. DT and I have gone over the DC readiness pics, captioning as we go. Just need a bit of editing still to do, but should be forthcoming before the end of the week.
2. Not sure if bitfunder trading is stopped now, that security cert looks a bit weird to me so I don't want to login. Regardless, I'm taking snapshots of the IceDrill.ASIC share list here: https://bitfunder.com/assetlist, will consolidate with what we get from Jon Montroll. He seems to be having a fight with bitcoind at the moment... We should have something basic up and running by the end of the weekend to login and verify addresses, if all goes as planned.

Working with Hashfast is ongoing, I'm in touch with them at least twice a week, and will share what information I can when I can.
I can confirm that there is a guaranteed delivery date (refund date). And that we did pay in BTC. Both these points are public knowledge.

Thanks for the update, looking forward to the pictures.

Did you confirm that your refund would be in the exact BTC you paid in? There seems to be mixed reviews on what HashFast has stated they would do in regards to refunds like these.
615  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] IceDrill.ASIC IPO (500 Thash Mining Operation powered by HashFast) on: November 14, 2013, 11:36:37 PM
hashlast Sad

HashFast have their chips in-hand.

That's more than LabKen, BlackArrow, BitMine, and ConTerra have going for them.

KnC won the race to 28nm, but that only the first skirmish in a longer war for 3rd gen ASIC dominance.

Man up old boy, and

NEVER BET ON iCE...

FTFY

Please wake up,

While I understand you are a little mentally unstable you are not blind nor stupid.

They are delayed until Mid-Dec at earlier, doesn't matter what they have in hand right now it's not hashing. They will likely be delayed past Dec 31st due to holidays or some other issue and then every customer is entitled to a refund besides the newest that are purchasing unknowingly into that mess and on a different TOS.

Enjoy your paperweight with no MPP in Mid December. I'll enjoy the 7TH worth of KnC I've been mining with for more than a month. (395 coins mined and counting)

616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 13, 2013, 09:30:20 PM
Everything in KNC world is rainbows and unicorn!

Meanwhile, over in HashFast land, the crybabies are bitching about a picture of the CEO holding a big package of their recently delivered chips.  The chips were delivered and they're still crying!  What the hell is wrong with this world?

I'm very happy that I went with KNC and Bitfury.  But I wish now that I'd have invested in HF too.  Sad

You must not understand the actual situation.

They promised end of October/Early November First Batch
They just got their "Silicon" (Not Chips) on Feb 7th
They stated the Substrate (What surrounds the silicon needed to make it into a "Chip) is delayed until Early-Mid December
Once they have the working "Chips" then they have to test them and finally assemble the units.
All of this going into the Holiday Season.
KnC will ship their second batch before HashFast ships their first and HashFast paid $600 more then KnC November Orders and will receive 150+ LESS GH if their chip runs at 400GH like they state.

I'm sure there's more but that should help you understand the mood in that thread.
617  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 13, 2013, 03:31:20 PM
VE can't you criticize Ken like a civilized person instead of being so vulgar and abusive?

Fuck no.  He took away my chance at a large fortune.. I had a lot of value in bitcoin and I could have a shitload of money right now if he wasn't such a piece of shit Smiley

Last I heard you dumped a huge amount of shares at the peak, your doing better financially than most of us here.

Then you should all be pissed

Why? I have lost so much money but there is nothing left to do except hope Ken gets lots of TH/s online.

Like I said, I need ActiveMining to maintain 3% of the network for a breakeven point. I can't do anything except hope that Ken gets the chips and puts them all into a farm asap.

What has he done so far to show that he is competent enough to accomplish this?  Every time he opens his mouth he pukes stupidity.. I have no idea why I ever decided to trust this guy

Most of us take responsibility for our own investments wins or losses.

Luckily my 7TH worth of KnC Miners have more than made up for this investment along with a few others not pulling their own weight.

While it would be Kens fault if this venture fails, it is ultimately each individual shareholders fault for losing their money by consciously investing in this.

Great news though is we still have a freckle of a chance that this will still be a success or even that we will recover most of the money we put into it as long as Ken has a working ASIC to show.
618  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 13, 2013, 01:10:30 PM
I know Ken said it was a "Sale"

Which by my standards means you took the money.

I tried finding his post where he mentioned what he felt what a sale was but couldn't find it.

I know anyone can go in and just place these million dollar orders without paying so I doubt he would count that. I'm sure "Dong" guy wasn't the first with that idea.

A million dollar order  Shocked  not bad for a day's work!

Once he shows a working chip/module more will follow very quickly.
