One more try on possible future valuation. I will use different approach - comparison with peers.
At the beginning I want to say that I had some trouble to find really comparable and publicly listed operations. For example there are several mining operations listed on Havelock - COG, HMF, KCIM - but each of them seems to be different in a meaningful way from Peta. HMF and KCIM are much, much smaller (by a factor of 20-40). In the case of COG it seems that the person who runs it does a lot of things that lead to a loss of credibility - which I hope won't be the case of Peta.

There are, of course, operations of 'hosting' and 'mining contract' type - but these having completely different model does not fix our purpose.

To chose peers I started with the following assumption: Peta has a good chance to be perceived by the market as a high profile operation. So I searched for listed operations with very good opinion.
I also searched for ventures with reinvestment strategy - this eliminates for example Picostocs' 500TH.
Stellar reputation and reinvestment requirements left me with: GMP (Cryptostocks), HMF (Havelock) and KCIM (Havelock). All of them much smaller but having good reputation and similar model.
To quantify this comparison I will use the price of Ghs we pay when buying shares. All ventures wait for new 28nm equipment and expect jump in hash power by March 2014.
Why all three could give a hint of FUTURE valuation of PETA? - 1) all three didn't sell their equipment in November 2013 so they have been paying dividends all the time. Which puts them well into the frame of running operation with reinvestment 2) their reputation is already very well established and the market sees practically no operational risk.

Comparison:

GMP - 0,09btc/Ghs
KCIM - 0,065btc/Ghs
HMF - 0,085btc/Ghs

PETA just after deployment: 240 -340Th, 80675 shares,  2,88-3,45 Ghs/share which leads to a price in the range of 0,185-0,32.

Further into the future?
1) Market valuation per Ghs will most probably decline in time (consequence of rising difficulty)
2) Smartness of reinvestment enters in full importance - CryptX's simulations show that Ghs/share could be well above 10 at the end of the year.

Please, don't treat this estimation too seriously. It's just a shot. And there are a lot of IF's  Wink

very nice valuation but in your calculation you forgot about bdd (B.MINE) on havelock which is a 5gh/s mining bond, priced at 0.067 per unit, way below ipo price

B.MINE is a derivative, not an asset

will S some D for BTC just to invest in PETA
604  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 220 TH/s on: February 17, 2014, 11:03:57 PM
return works out at less than 10 weeks dividend once the mine is fully operational. That doesn't include any extra's or reinvestment

Don't know which calculation you have made in order to get to the 10weeks div.

http://www.vnbitcoin.org/bitcoincalculator.php

If I calc and assume the diff increase will keep at the same pace (+/- 20% every diff change) that an investment of 25.5btc for 1000Ghs has a ROI time of over 360days. This assumes 100% is being paid out in dividend and there are no electricity costs.

If indeed the return is 10 weeks of div than I'll go all-in.

the 35% reinvestment will offset the difficulty increase, especially if they can make there own boards
605  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE 220 TH/s on: February 17, 2014, 04:27:46 PM
Some calculations, correct me if I'm wrong :

80675 outstanding shares
2.4 Gh/s + 20% / share = 2.88 Gh/s

Ultimately we should hash @ 232.34 Th/s

ATM we have 7.6 Th/s -> 3.3% of the promised farm

0.00015308335 BTC / share every 10 days

I know it's just the beginning but I hope it'll ramp up soon !

of course it will ramp up, this week, as stated last week. You could maybe do the calculation for another 20% on top if you are looking at "should", but you might as well save the calculations until we have an update that says "we are fully deployed with all the contracted equipment..." etc

i'm absolutely laughing my tits off at how low the price of these shares are. very much looking forward to next week. excellent work CryptX

The auction ends 48 hours from now.

I did try to bring the share price a little down to be able to buy more and I've just got burned, I wont play this way anymore, now I am just comfortable with my current position.

anyone trying to get a share just buy it for the market value don't try to manipulate the price or you will just get burned...

Just stop investing with graphs and tricks, invest based in the company based on belief in their strategy.

Ps. That was you? Made me feel really bad for buying some more @ 0.8 :p

As I said before, I thought I would push the price down to 0.06, someone surprised me and bought through my wall. I cancelled my orders and stopped.playing. I don't care, I still hold more than I will ever need...

And who said that I don't Believe in this operation? I otherwise wouldn't invest... I still think that this operation will bring a kick as profit if cryptx manage the funds wisely in which I have no doubts...

were you the guy playing with the 1000 share wall?

yes Wink

and also the one putting 1200+

Edit: don't worry I've learned my lesson, I wont be putting any more walls, I forget that there is only 80000 share out there, I've just realized that they've cancelled the IPO, which makes my position even stronger.

dude, you made my day. i was the wall of 370 that kept undercutting you. Then i just brought up everything between 0.06 and 0.07. sorry. usually i'd donate some money to you out of appreciation but considering the amount of shares you have, you most likely have a substantial amount more than me.

Feel free to do it again though! Wink

big companies have phone numbers, they have websites that are continuously updated, they have people you can put behind the company, they are also not working in a landscape where half of the other companies are running away with peoples money or completely failing to deliver. This is a terrible comparison.

CryptX, if you're viewing this thread, why are you not updating your investors to alleviate their fears?

do you think "still waiting" is something that will alleviate our fears?

often people (I know I for one) prefer to finally make communication with something positive if there has been a period of silence.

e.g. "sorry I haven't got back to you recently, but, guess what, good news!"

just a thought... I'd prefer waiting to hear good news, than hearing another "still waiting" update, but that's just me...

It's where we disagree. Even if its just "still waiting", at-least its some contact. This isn't as much me worrying about us not delivering on time, its me worrying about funding a company that isn't communicating anything with its investors. We are shareholders in this company, and should be treated as such.

appreciated isn't a word i'd use. as an investor i demand to be updated atleast once a week, especially in times of trouble.

Some of us use the word appreciate because we are being civil and understand that cryptx is likely busy still readying the datacenter for future installations of hardware.
As far as we know there are no times of trouble currently, both bitmine and cointerra had issues and delays, both have since ramped up production and have started shipping.
Considering we know where their first batch of hardware is coming from we can keep an eye out for updates from those suppliers ourselves, instead of demanding that cryptx feed us information that is freely available or not available at all.

lol. i've got nearly a thousand shares. being civil is something you do when the company your invested in makes sure to put the investors first. Considering they were here all the time during the investment phase and now they have all our money are only popping back once a week. fuck being civil.

you can always get rid of your shares if you are not comfortable with the business model, I used to bitch the same like you when I just joined this forum, in fact I didn't register the first day I knew about bitcoin, I did register when I felt frustrated and the only thing I could do was bitching.

bottom line, this wont get you anywhere, you will lose your nerves, time and energy without adding anything of value to this matter, in fact I used to Bitch about Cryptx as well, I spamed their thread with posts repeating the same thing again and again and all over again.... but did I change anything ? no.

Advice: if anyone is sick of waiting and don't want to wait or risk anything just sell your shares, I will make sure to buy even more at lower prices, I've been doing it anyways....

At this point, being this late, I would expect daily updates from the them, even if it's, we still don't have the hardware, or the hardware is here and we've installed x% of it, etc... It's getting harder and harder to continue to hold this stock.

agreed. As a serious investor myself, the only thing pulling me away is the lack of communication. It's getting to the point now were no matter how good this venture looks, I'm starting to distrust the people who are running it.
