601  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Watch only wallet for 2FA wallet on: April 30, 2017, 11:19:34 PM
2FA utilizes a 2 of 3 multi sig address where you control 2 of the addresses and TrustedCoin controls the 3rd. This prevents TrustedCoin from having the ability to spend coins without your approval or hold them hostage as you have a backup private key that could be used. Therefore, there really isn't too much trust that is needed.

I don’t understand what a webcam game is ? Is it like the real live dealer game you are talking about or is it like involves everyone's webcam to be open ?
Because the second one sounds horrible to most of us here but the first one already exists and the operational costs are HUGE and you need to be reaaally big and earning a lot to cover those costs.

A webcam game is where you can show your face in a live feed video to prove you are human.

A lot of Poker game providers says that you can play on their platform against humans, but most of the players are bots. This is why some platforms uses the webcam system to prove that everyone is human.

Now the dealer doesn't really counts, and it would be useless to make it human, he can be a machine as long as the players are human.

What i said, is that BitDice could release such a game, where humans plays against humans in a poker game. And, the actual reputation of BitDice makes puts him in a better position then his competitors, as untill now, i didn't any serious scam accusation against BitDice.

Well on other hand someone could stil use webcam to show his face but still use a bot to play poker for him.
I dont know much of bots playing poker, but I just explained that webcam will not solve this problem.

At least he is playing against a human who is using a Bot.  This is different than a bot generated by the site itself then declare that players are playing against players.  Though I still do not see any problem if the player is using a bot unless it has some hash cracking feature that crack the upcoming cards and reveal it to its owner.  Anyway, is there a known poker bot that do this kind of thing?

I'm not so sure that bots in poker are really that common or something to worry about too much. I guess it all depends on what type of poker and where you are playing but I don't think I'd really be interested in playing if I had to use a webcam to show my face lol.
603  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 0.04 BTC transaction costs 0.0017 BTC fee? on: April 29, 2017, 07:59:35 PM
It does not show the size in bytes in the window. I've been looking at that window now 5 times and I just cannot see it.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1712036.0 says it's not that simple.

Using electrum 2.7.9.

Download the latest version of Electrum. I verified that version 2.8.2 definitely shows the size of the transaction right under the amount sent in the preview window.

604  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Electrum Review on: April 28, 2017, 06:45:40 PM
Yeah, Electrum is definitely my favorite wallet to use. I used to use blockchain.info until they changed interfaces and made the site awful and then I switched to Electrum. Glad I made the change as Electrum is great.
605  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet. Will transaction with low fee would be replace with bigger fee? on: April 28, 2017, 06:43:54 PM
^^ you are wrong because electrum is one of those wallets that has the option to replace by fee. and i have recently done one. http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html

although don't expect your transaction to be replaced all over the network. the problem is that many nodes don't recognize RBF so they will ignore it and see it as double spend and keep your original transaction.

my experience was that it was successful because the miner picked up my higher fee tx fast and that is the only thing that matters.

and by the way you don't have to make another transaction, electrum is so user friendly about it. go to your history tab and click on the transaction and choose increase fee. easy!

So to make it successful I need to put much bigger fee, so the chance of success would be high. right ?

Correct, using a bigger fee would cause the miners to pick up the transaction. You just need to ensure you are using a proper sized fee. https://bitcoinfees.21.co is a pretty good site to see what the recommended level of fees are.

882a29cb4cf8b49c068af5f9da0507e3eaeb941e2dc2721e61cf00453720276c
is my transaction is this is my first time tranfering bitcoin from a different wallet and it hasent gone through have i now lost my bitcoins ?

It is just confirming a bit slower as the fee is lower than the recommended fee. According to https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ , The fastest and cheapest transaction fee is currently 240 satoshis/byte which is larger than the 150 sat/B fee used on this transaction.

I recommend you ensure you are using the latest version of Electrum with Dynamic Fees enabled for a more accurate fee estimator for quick confirmations.
607  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Preferences not showing on: April 28, 2017, 03:12:47 PM
A seedless wallet doesn't contain a seed or any private keys either (private keys are actually derived from the seed). What you have is  NOT a seedless wallet because it contains imported private keys. You can make a backup of this wallet using the option file menu > save copy.

By seedless, he is simply referring to an address that contains imported private keys. I would consider this a seedless wallet as there is no seed involved and it does have individual private keys for each of the addresses within it.

To backup those types of wallets, you either need to backup each individual private key or save a copy of the Electrum's wallet files.

Moving the funds to the seeded wallet isn't a bad idea, just be sure to double check your fee as older versions can use lower than optimal fees.
608  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Preferences not showing on: April 28, 2017, 01:33:25 PM
Coinkeeper, and HCP,

I'm on 2.6.4, currently.

I don't necessarily need or want a seedless wallet, it's just that that was the only option available to me, that I knew of, to rescue my btc from a multibit wallet that was giving me problems.

So, please do advise me on/confirm how to move from seedless to seeded wallet. And whether this needs to happen before or after an upgrade.

I have already done a backup by copying my wallets folder to a different machine... so hopefully that is all that a backup consists of. Is that correct?

Quote
... move the coins over to "regular" Electrum addresses where then only SEED is needed to make absolutely certain you never lose any coins.

Yes, agreed. Will you help me to do this?

This can be done either before or after the upgrade. Probably would be best to upgrade first.

All you need to do is create a new wallet within Electrum and create a standard wallet that uses a seed. Electrum can have multiple wallets at the same time. Make sure to save a copy of the seed somewhere safe. Once you have the new wallet created, you can send the coins from the other wallet to your new wallet.

Did this site get hacked or something? The top wagered all have 200btc+ wagered with 100btc+ profits, all over the course of the last couple of days..

Alex, I did warn you about the server seed issue several months ago. I hope it was not abused in this case.

Nothing was hacked. Blackjack profit just shows incorrectly on a user's profile right now so it looks like profit is higher than it really is. Profit has been down and up over the last few days though.
610  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to use TestNet or Regtest network on Electrum? on: April 26, 2017, 05:26:43 PM
I believe you round just run
Code:
./electrum --testnet
to run it on the testnet. I don't think you need the petrkr-testnet fork of Electrum.

The error regarding the AES package means you don't have that python module installed. Running that install command would fix that.
611  Economy / Services / Re: Crack my bitcoin wallet address and get 0.155 btc + 0.5BTC on: April 26, 2017, 04:04:27 PM
I'm sure there are a lot of people here trying to use btcrecover to attempt this on their own - and surely there are more people stuck on extracting some information from what you've provided.
If using btcrecover the following information is needed for --data-extract.

Partial Bitcoin Core encrypted master key, salt, iter_count, and crc in base64:
Code:
YmM64LYAAfzSnXMMKY3nU446Bwnk/bc42KxhtbA8WC1yQhTQfmbCYGrk/L44AQAA5o2b

You can generate this by editing the extract scripts included in that tool. Excerpt from extract-bitcoincore-mkey-from-pywallet.py.

encrypted_master_keytest = "3ce2900d6c2df58a1cfa9ea1755a1599e0b60001fcd29d730c298de7538e3a0709e4fdb738d8ac61b5b03c582d724214" #Hardcode from OP
saltnumber = "d07e66c2606ae4fc" #Hardcode from OP

encrypted_master_key = base64.b16decode(encrypted_master_keytest, True)  # True means allow lowercase
salt                 = base64.b16decode(saltnumber, True)
iter_count           = int(80062)

print("Partial Bitcoin Core encrypted master key, salt, iter_count, and crc in base64:", file=sys.stderr)

# Only include the last two AES blocks (last 32 bytes) of the 48-byte encrypted master key
bytes = b"bc:" + encrypted_master_key[-32:] + salt + struct.pack("<I", iter_count)
crc_bytes = struct.pack("<I", zlib.crc32(bytes) & 0xffffffff)

print(base64.b64encode(bytes + crc_bytes))

If you've made it this far, then the issue is likely your amount of computing power; without either having a large amount of GPUs or a more defined tokens list / logic, then you cannot move forward.

You can try a command such as the following:
Code:
C:\python27\python btcrecover.py --data-extract --enable-gpu  --tokenlist tokens.txt --typos 3 --typos-capslock --typos-swap --typos-repeat --pause

Hopefully we can help recover this for the OP. If I've made any mistakes above please let me know. Thanks.

EDIT:

Adding link to the btcrecover github as credit is due to them.
https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover

Thanks for the info in this post. It was useful for me as this is the first time I am messing with btcrecover.

It definitely takes quite some time to brute force passwords though especially without any definitive information about what the password might be. I'll see if I can come up with anything though.
612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If today was your last day, would you gamble everything? on: April 26, 2017, 02:40:47 PM
Nooo instead of gambling and loosing them into casino and if I don't have family maybe I will find charity where my money can be give and will be the reason those kids to live again for long the smile in there face maybe be the reason why I will be accepted in heaven lmao.
of course you should think forward even you know already that you will die your last money better belong to some people who really need it , rather than to use it one useless thing but just a pleasure right? you should in good way , not with gambling .

also what you will do if then your money get doubled after won it in gambling?no? for nothing of course..

I think I will be giving most of it to my family, well I have a family I must leave them so they can carry on. The left money I will be using for making or doing some things that I didn't do or I might do when I will still live longer. You van say my bucket list. But I don't think gambling will make me happy at my last day. But if that got doubled I have a charity to give that.
If I have the last day of my life, why would I have to spend it on gambling? There are many other things worth to do and as you say, spending time with family can be the most precious think you can do at that time. Therefore, I will never ever gamble even a single penny if today was my last day

Yeah, it wouldn't make sense to gamble away everything if you were on your last day. This impacts other people such as your family who would inherit your belongings. It wouldn't be very nice to financially hurt them due to gambling away everything.
613  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Recharge Bitcoin on: April 26, 2017, 02:37:01 PM
I need to recharge a wallet of another person.
I was thinking to use bitcoin local seller or bitcoincentral or coibase but i read online a lot of bad feedback about issues and assistance.
At this point i am confused, what would you suggest me? i can try to make my own wallet but would prefer the quicker and cheaper solution to convert xxx$ to bictoin

You could check if there are any Bitcoin ATM in your area. If so, those are a pretty good way to get fiat converted to bitcoin. Alternatively, I'd recommend looking into localbitcoins or coinbase.
614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen to your BTC and alts if you died ? on: April 26, 2017, 02:03:39 PM
Never really thought about this, but I am in the same situation and expect that if I were no longer here, any btc or alts that I had would be "lost". Sure, I probably have a backup of a seed somewhere but doubt anyone would realize what it was. I guess it does make sense to store a physical copy or use a hardware device for instances like this. Someone who isn't familiar with bitcoin would still likely have a hard time figuring out what to do with them though.
615  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Receiving multiple payments with one adress with electrum on: April 26, 2017, 01:42:07 PM
For privacy, it is recommended that you use a new unused address each time you wish to receive coins. Electrum's receive tab should do this by default I believe or you can just select any of the addresses on your address list that have 0 transactions. Keep in mind that if you spend any of the inputs of multiple addresses at the same time, you effectively link those addresses and lose some privacy anyway.
616  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Please Help!!! Trapped bitcoin & watch wallet issue on: April 26, 2017, 01:33:51 PM
I am really hoping someone can help me.

Last year I decided to start buying some bitcoin.  I chose the electrum platform after researching and hearing of its ease of use given I am not overly technical.  I created a standard default wallet on electrum but don’t recall being presented with any phrase or password at the time of creation.  I bought a small amount of bitcoin from Bittylicious to test that the wallet was working.  Once confirmed, given the risk to security, I decided to follow the advice of a web article and create  a watch wallet.  I did so using the master public key from my default wallet.  The watch wallet was created instantly after inputting the master public key, again I don’t recall any passwords or phrases being presented to me

Over the last year I have been adding bitcoin to my watch wallet using the receive address form my watch wallet.  I started to become concerned when the transactions being shown in my watch wallet weren’t appearing in my default account.  Upon further reading online I am now hearing I need to present ‘seed phrases’ to access and spend my bitcoin in my watch wallet.

I don’t recall ever seeing any phrases in either the setup of either the default or watch wallet and don't know what this is.   Can someone help me understand what options I have.  I am really worried I may never be able to access my bitcoin again and have lost a years worth of saving

Please help!  Thanks in advance

Kind regards,
Matt

Electrum gives you seed words which are used to generate your wallet. This is a 12 or 13 word phrase. It forces you to confirm these seed words in order to create the wallet. Try to create a new wallet and you will see what this looks like.

Do you also have your other wallet setup or only the watch wallet setup? Without the seed words or private keys for the wallet, you would be unable to spend the coins.
617  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Requesting enlightenment on 2 questions on: April 26, 2017, 03:34:32 AM
Hey,

I've just switched from using the online wallet Blockchain to using Electrum.
I have installed it and attempted to turn in the 2FA but the code I'm supposed to insert just won't work.
Same thing happened for me using Blockchain, looks like my Google Authenticator has a delay and the code is always wrong.
My question is, how safe is my Bitcoin account taking in fact I'm not using 2FA ?

Is it possible signing messages using Electrum ? If so, how ?

Help is appreciated, thank you.

Most issue with 2FA codes not working are caused by incorrectly synced time on your phone. You should double check and manually sync the time with an internet time server to see if that fixes the issue.

Your bitcoin wallet is as safe as the PC you are running it on. If you do not have malware on the PC, you should be fine.

Yes, you can sign messages with Electrum. Just go to Tools -> Sign/Verify Message
618  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 2.8.2 for Windows is not working! on: April 26, 2017, 03:33:17 AM
Hello!
The problem is that: Install Wizard is working normally, but after enter or creation the new wallet and new seed it simply turning off.
I tried all of the versions and tested it in 4 different computers (which of 3 with Win7 and 1 with Win10) with the same result.
 Huh Cry

Are you setting it up for the first time on these computers or upgrading an older version of Electrum?

If you don't have an existing wallet, you may want to try removing the Electrum folder from within your AppData folder to see if it resolves the issue.

Why would Trump shut facebook down? The Gov and NSA love facebook lol.

I also don't see any reason for some other company to name themselves after facebook unless they are just trying to steal a userbase.

Ash and Sooop made off with some nice profits today! Always nice to see some big winners!
this winnings will provide some proof that it has no anomalies on their codes. Winning this huge amount will earn a lot of gamblers who plays on different sites. Some of my friends telling that some other gambling sites have times where they loose fast even if they set the winning percentage to 98% then gives them 2reds on 5 rolls.

This could happen with any casino really depending on luck. The proof is all in the provably fair code which allows you to guarantee you aren't being cheated.

Big seems to be common with the casino. In the past too it have given very big wins to few users that can never be expected from a casino. I think one user was lucky to get around 300btc, but he has a good backing to risk which most of the gamblers won't have in the wallet.

Yep, there has been some big wins and well as some big losses on the site as well.
