601  Other / Beginners & Help / [Free BTC] CoinChat - Earn free bitcoins while chatting! on: May 12, 2013, 08:07:14 AM
Disclaimer: I am not in any way affiliated with this site, just an avid user and modder of it. Smiley

In the words of the author:
Quote from: TradeFortress
CoinChat is an ad sponsored chatroom where you can earn free BTC by just chatting. Every time you say something, you have a chance to roll for up to 1 mBTC (0.001 BTC) - the chance takes in account a variety of quality and anti-gaming factors.

Create your own rooms and chat about what you like! (As long as it's not spam)

Chat to your friends in private and still earn free bitcoins! IRC style.

Non intrusive advertisements! Occasional text ads, plus text/image ads on the main room & PMs.

Tip anyone bitcoins! Hilarious comment? Helped you with a problem? Tip them a mBTC (or more!)

Of course, free BTC! It's not a day job, but if you'd do it anyways, why not earn some mBTC?

I present to you newbies CoinChat, a fun chatroom which gives out free Bitcoins. I am not the owner of this site, TradeFortress is, but I have created a very nice client for it, which can be found at whiskers75.github.io/whiskchat/index.html. And no, this is NOT a man-in-the-middle attack, as reddit and others have yelled, it's a CUSTOM CLIENT. Improved for a better chat experience.

604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yacoin developer stole more than 256 BTC! on: May 11, 2013, 02:03:40 PM
FUD until proper proof. Stop making 1000 topics.
Notice how this has been posted everywhere? You see what Yacoin has done? And now you (or the botnet) is saying that it's all FUD and lies?
Wow.

606  Economy / Service Discussion / To the owner of Pyramining: Can I have my coins back? on: May 04, 2013, 08:52:41 AM
I made 3 deposits (account qsb9ethf) and then my Bitcoin payout address got hacked, causing the loss of 1 bitcoin. Could the owner of Pyramining please return the deposits to 1CHejogoA7PPEzP6QBzF15s96VEZ1a3irM?
Thanks.

610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My (and many others') rant about Bitcoin-QT on: April 25, 2013, 05:52:45 PM
Wow, did not expect this level of discourse Smiley
Personally, I use blockchain.info not Electrum - I was implying "anything but Bitcoin-QT".
We even got the dev in here Grin
Just please add an option to see ALL addresses in my wallet.dat file.
611  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: [ANN] Coin ♥ Love ♥ Chest [FREE BITCOINS] on: April 25, 2013, 05:22:29 PM
I love the way banks are advertising free international money transfers while Bitcoin was there from the start Smiley

I also love the fact that vanity addresses like mine look good.

612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / My (and many others') rant about Bitcoin-QT on: April 23, 2013, 05:24:44 PM
TLDR: Bitcoin-QT needs to make addresses and their uses clearer if it wants to be widely adopted.

How many panic posts do we get on here with a person confused with addresses thinking "they've been hacked!!!!111!!"? Quite a lot. Bitcoin-QT's "keypool" was not a good idea, and it should either be disabled by default, removed, or given a way to be managed easily, as this leads to the question: "I thought 1whiskrpGeZVd5ormX2ihifc9uB2YSz82 was my bitcoin address, but I sent BTC to it and it's gone! Why?" Bitcoin-QT does not let me see (if I wanted to) ALL my bitcoin addresses (+ keys) plus every other address I ever received BTC to or sent BTC from. More control is needed, and this leaves me firmly in the hands of Electrum and blockchain info (plus every other easy-to-manage wallet out there.)

613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts On All This DDoS Garbage on: April 23, 2013, 05:09:28 PM
We need an exchange BUILT IN to Bitcoin-QT (and FULLY supported by the bitcoin protocol).

You get an error message, and a bitcoin address.

Put a warning up about enabling 2 factor auth - I lost 1.2 BTC due to a "It would take a desktop PC about 175 years to crack your password" password. (http://howsecureismypassword.net)
616  Other / Beginners & Help / Watch out for Link Phishers! on: April 21, 2013, 08:47:01 AM
Before you click on ANY link on these forums, mouse over it to see where it leads. I got lead to a site demanding my mt.gox password once, luckily I spied the misshapen URL. For example, this link leads to mt.gox... or does it? (you can click that, the real URL behind that link is https://www.google.com/search?q=some%20spam%20site)
If you see any sort of link phishing like this, hit the Report to Moderator button or PM a moderator to get it removed. Also post something like "PHISHING" so people will not click on the link.

Stay safe out there. Wink
617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Stop Making Altcoins - instead... on: April 20, 2013, 05:40:59 PM
There are SO MANY altcoins being created right now, it's amazing. It's almost as if we need a website to create a new coin!
Seriously though, there isn't really much point in making Litecoin forks just to get the happy warm and fuzzy of seeing 50 WhateverCoins in your wallet. Go to skude.se/BTC, the Coin Love Chest or some other free bitcoin site and maybe you'll actually earn something instead of getting worthless amounts of your new altcoin. And if that doesn't please you? Change the bitcoin source code to show BTC in mBTC and change "BTC" to "Whiskcoin" or whatever. Now you can get that warm 'n' fuzzy and still have something of value, without tiring out your poor processor. Smiley

(Side note: If you haven't already, post your bitcoin address in your signature, maybe you'll get something from a kind forum member!)
