6001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learning Technical Analysis on: June 13, 2018, 09:41:59 PM
Technical analysis is a very wide subject and has its own learning curve.
This forum is a great resource but its so vast it will take some researching
to accumulate the information required.

I suppose there are a couple of topics which feed into the technical analysis like:

Understanding the particular projects you wish to invest in
Keeping up to date with developments
Keeping up to date with market trends and what others are saying about those projects
Monitoring news
How to read market charts for trading

I would expect technical analysis in crypto to be related but probably not the
same as stock markets there might be information which can be applied to
crypto in this link > https://www.investopedia.com/university/technical/

6003  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why does bitcoin have only one denomination? on: June 13, 2018, 07:28:56 PM
I suppose you mean its denomination of "satoshi" but it has arguably a
few denominations but the following being the most popular:

Bitcoin – BTC – (1 full Bitcoin)
MilliBitcoin – mBTC – (1 thousandth of a BTC) – BTC 0.001
MicroBitcoin – uBTC – (1 millionth of a BTC) – BTC0.000001
Satoshi – 0.00000001

6004  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Drops Below $6,500 on: June 13, 2018, 06:38:55 PM
Im not overly anxious at the moment really. The markets will probably continue to fall
due to to both investors movements and but FUD but at some point there will be a
buying frenzy by investors and that can also lead to FOMO by newbies which will see
a healthy rise in value.

Before all that though this site is predicting a bit more of a fall, how they figure it though
Im not so sure > https://longforecast.com/bitcoin-price-predictions-2017-2018-2019-btc-to-usd

6008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys agree on this statement? on: June 06, 2018, 10:05:48 PM
Maybe as more and more people get burned investing in not so good ICO's
that the negativity towards them will be so great it will overshadow all
ICO's and that bubble will pop, its really hard to say though because
just by visiting the announcements section of the forum its clear that there
are plenty of projects to get involved in so there is still interest in ICO
investment and people looking to turn a easy profit!
6009  Economy / Service Discussion / Exchange Regulations - are we seeing negative effects? on: June 06, 2018, 08:42:06 PM
We have all experienced the new regulations which many exchanges are choosing
to implement in order to be legitimate in the eyes of whatever government jurisdiction
they are in and be seen to crack down on money laundering and reduce the anonymity
of users for example.

For me I see this as the only real regulation a government can issue to crypto currencies,
its an indirect regulation by targeting how people get in and get out of crypto.

Will we see and have we seen already a decline in trading as people shy away from using
the exchanges and newcomers not willing to divulge their personal information?

6010  Economy / Economics / Re: What profit has brought you to bitcoin? on: June 06, 2018, 08:10:51 PM
...
It is interesting to know how many people have known about bitcoin since 2009 and how long have you been investing in bitcoin?
What percentage of the profits is brought to you by early investments in bitcoin?

I have known about Bitcoin since around 2011 and when it was mentioned to
me I though it was for gamers. But it wasnt until January 2017 that I first got
into Bitcoin followed by Litecoin, Dash and Ethereum.

The profits since then have been huge for example I bought Bitcoin around
$1000, Litecoin at around $13.00. My overall percentage increase is now
at approximately 2200%

For the people buying now I hope in the next year or two that they can say
similar!
6011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you stay informed about Altcoins? on: June 06, 2018, 07:30:25 PM
There are a number of channels where I get my updates.
I try not to get overwhelmed with news articles and updates, I use Twitter
mainly for Litecoin and Siacoin update.

For my general market updates and news I visit The Merkle regularly and
for other crypto related articles I listen to Bitcoin, Blockchain and Crypto Podcast
and Cryptobasic podcast on Castbox for Android.

6012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: News: Bitcoin won't be Global Currency on: June 06, 2018, 06:55:48 PM
Bitcoin along with some altcoins are enjoying the title of being a global currency.

Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dash, Monero and Zcash are already being used for payments
for goods and services. Ok the likes of Dash, Monero and Zcash are used more
in the dark web but Bitcoin is global and becoming more and more adopted to
make it even more global because it is a universal currency.

Some interesting links

https://www.lifewire.com/big-sites-that-accept-bitcoin-payments-3485965

https://news.bitcoin.com/prague-subway-system-now-has-ten-new-bitcoin-atms/

For those who think Bitcoin or other decentralised crypto is going to be adopted
by all countries around the world thus making it global, I cannot see it happening,
at least my brain cannot work out how it would be possible, everything in world
finance would have to change IMO and governments would have to surrender all
control of their finances.

6013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin the “Last Thing I’d Want to Own” if Grid Goes Down: Short Seller on: June 06, 2018, 06:37:47 AM
No he said in the report "if the grid goes down" and mentions food being
the more important commodity in "the oncoming apocalypse".

What about getting some bitcoin to speculate with and hopefully with a sizable
increase in that investment he could build himself an underground survival base
as a store of value against the apocalypse?

If we take his comments literally, there is no point in doing anything other than
preparing for the apocalypse.

6014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] DIMCOIN The Future Of Equity on the Blockchain on: June 05, 2018, 10:38:25 PM
It seems we have 3 types of investors here...
1. Those that solely got in because they believe in this project and team, thus don't care about timelines, how long it takes, etc, as long as they can eventually make money off an amazing concept.
2. Those that are looking for a quick payout, thus nothing is more important that getting on top exchanges and driving up market cap to cash out at a hefty gain.
3. Those that got in knowing it's going to be a long term endeavor but also believe you've got to get the recognition out there first for it to be a long term endeavor. These are the investors that are looking at a long term gain, plus a short term gain.

I believe we can satisfy all 3 groups of investors. The key is to satisfy the 3rd group, to take that approach. I happen to fall into the 3rd group

I would be in the number 3 camp and I know the project has another
18 months or so years to run through its roadmap and to implement HYBSE .

I think extra exchanges will be key to the project particularly for DIMCoin
as this is what it was designed for and is just another step in development,
and development is key!

[What is DIMCOIN?    DIMCOIN is a tradable speculative cryptocurrency.]
6015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in Litecoin on: June 05, 2018, 09:13:55 PM
Litecoin isnt going anywhere, its a solid project paving its own path with an ongoing development
Team looking to move the project forward and well worth getting into.

Recent news has it that it has been added to another exchange in Argentina which is the largest
crypto country in south america. Its a country open to new technologies as stated in this report >
https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/05/31/litecoin-ltc-price-analysis-may-31-2018/

Litecoin has also been added to the ABRA wallet > https://www.abra.com/

"Abra is the only global cryptocurrency app that allows you to buy, store, and invest in 25
cryptocurrencies in one place - with the security you need. Fund your mobile wallet with
fiat or bitcoin. Then invest in bitcoin, ethereum, ripple, bitcoin cash, litecoin, dash,
and many more cryptocurrencies - instantly."

Amongst all the altcoins which are there in the world of the digital currencies, litecoin is having a very good reputation and that there are so many investors who are investing a handsome amount of money into this coin as they know the worth of this coin and that they are continuously investing more and more money into as they know that this will help them in getting richer.

Of course, investors can see the potential in litecoin based on the work and connections being
made by the team. Here is an article from today singing the positive potential of litecoin with
a good price prediction for this year > https://smartereum.com/3342/litecoin-price-predictions-2018-news-today-litecoin-forecast-news-tue-jun-05/

6016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steve Wozniak claims Bitcoin ‘The Only Digital Gold’. on: June 05, 2018, 07:47:45 PM
I think this feeds into the idea that bitcoin js becoming more of an investment
commodity and a store of value... Like Gold.

Does that not conflict with what he thinks bitcoin will become

Speaking to CNBC at the ongoing Money20/20 conference in Amsterdam,
the veteran developer said he “bought into” comments from Twitter CEO
Jack Dorsey about Bitcoin becoming the “single currency” of both the internet
and the world.
6017  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much time you spend on researching about bitcoins ? on: June 05, 2018, 06:09:34 PM
I dont know how much time I put into bitcoin research, i would make a
guess at about 1.5 hours. I mostly check up on news articles from the
news board of the forum and also checking on twitter about my favourite
coins.

Obviously everyone will have a different number and some people can
and have to dedicate more time than others but the key is to do something
every day to keep up to date because we are involved in a global technology
which is fast moving.
6018  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-06-04] Slovenia’s Largest Shopping Center to Become a Genuine Bitcoin City on: June 04, 2018, 08:58:44 PM
I couldnt believe that the thread title was actually real but it is, great news.
It looks like Slovenia has been shaping up to something like this, back in
February The Merkle had this report about Slovenia and its president being
very proactive on new technologies > https://themerkle.com/slovenia-is-becoming-a-target-destination-for-blockchain-companies/

"Ljubljana, 14 February 2018 – Slovenia has always strived to become a
technology-friendly country. Many governments referred to Slovenia as the Silicon Valley of Europe"
6019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Mass Adoption of Blockchain Solutions be a reality or just a pipe dream on: June 04, 2018, 06:09:09 PM
I dont think its a pipe dream and time will tell if its mass adopted. It is
however being developed and will contribute in some way to the next
Industrial revolution along with AI, 3D printing, Nanotechnology, IOT,
and robotics.

I personally believe it will be fully adopted in the creation of currency
by all countries, this will take time but it will replace cash as in physical
in the hand money and of course it wont be decentralised but it will
be blockchain technology.
6020  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin - a financial pyramid: true or myth? on: June 04, 2018, 02:28:12 PM
I think some people who dont understand Bitcoin relate to it as a pyramid
scheme because they see it as something that is created from nothing, I
have been told to my face that it was a pyramid scheme and of course a
5 minute crash course in how Bitcoins are created and what it was designed
to do would change their minds but if some people are hell bent on believing
something it can be impossible to change.

The massive run up to $20,000 in January did nothing to change those
peoples minds, they would have seen that as the people at the top
selling to those unfortunates at the bottom.
