It's could be a possible reason is we are still at the early age of crypto, people are still confused about what is crypto. But I am sure that as time goes by crypto is getting a lot of attention from people especially those big financial companies, they are starting to what crypto can do.

For me, you should try some basic first in technical analysis, like supports and resistances, different tools in charts, like the trendline, and Fibonacci retracement (very important).
Although, we can say that maybe we have a different style for trading, like if you are planning to do some Elliot wave trading, but you still gonna need to learn how to identify the supports and resistance in different timeframes for sure.

Risk Management - you should study this also, like you are going only to allocate particular of your funds in every trade you does, like 10% of your available funds in the trading account. Risk reward ratio also, which you gonna need to put stop loss on every trades you do.

My opinion about $1.4T market cap of cryptocurrency is really POSSIBLE. Especially when Bitcoin will break the previous ALL-TIME HIGH which is around $19,000.

Especially when the price of Bitcoin reached around $19,000 before, the market cap is around already $700,000,000. So, let's say that the price of Bitcoin will reach double the ALL-TIME HIGH price, around $40,000 per Bitcoin.
Then it is really possible, especially there will be some altcoins will gain huge market cap. Altcoins will also help the market cap of cryptocurrencies soar, even the Bitcoin dominance is surging up.

Most of free tokens, especially got from airdrops from some altcoins are have purposes; probably their advertisements which people will start to check their project or what the token uses.
And most of the free tokens are from random projects that are requiring you to do particular things, like subscribing to their social media accounts, like twitter or subscribe to their newsletters, most of these are called airdrops, but it should not be an airdrop once they will ask you for something to do.
