6641  Economy / Scam Accusations / [BEWARE] Sim Port Attack on: May 24, 2019, 04:07:06 AM
I lost north of $100,000 last Wednesday. It evaporated over a 24-hour time span in a “SIM port attack” that drained my Coinbase account.

Sim port attack or Sim swap attack is when your associated phone number in your other accounts will port to another sim card or another phone that is controlled  by the attacker and they are free to use your phone number now since your phone is connected to different accounts, they will reset the password or use the SMS authentication using the phone number then they are freely easily to open your account.

Who are authorize to port your sim/phone number to another device?
It is only your carrier provider, e.g. AT&T, Smart Communications, T-MOBILE, etc.
-Some attacker here will contact on your carrier provider and some will use some of your personal information just to prove that they are real you.

-I experienced to upgrade my sim card before, in my country, I just went on the store branch of my carrier provider then provide 1 valid id then that's all. I don't know they allowed via phone call.

    Tips to avoid this
    • Avoid storing your coins or funds for long term in a centralized exchange.
    • Avoid using centralized cryptocurrency wallet.
    • User hardware wallet or cold wallet.

    I have some questions:

    1. Is there any carrier provider that allowed you to change your sim card or port to another device via phone call only?
    2. If this case happens, can we blame our carrier provider on this or take some legal actions?
and what more tips or advice you can give to avoid this kind of attack.

    Speak for yourself, ducky.

I've already paid to have my crotch frozen. It may well be chucked in the incinerator as soon as there are enough confirmations but you never know.

In other news Facebookcoin is looking official https://www.bbc.com/news/business-48383460
Is there any impact on cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin if that "facebookcoin" will launch?
Like, it is possible the market cap of some cryptocurrency will decrease because of facebook?

Good morning pinas! Sa lower timeframe gaya ng 1hour, malakas talaga yung support around sa .618 fibonacci level, makikita nyo sa chart.
Pero pag e zozoom out talaga natin, more sideways parin makikita mo sa ngayon.

Para sa akin, accumulation area parin ngayon. Para ito sa mga taong di pa nakasakay sa train, binabalikan pa tayo ng train bago lumipad  Grin  Grin

I always believe i'm lucky everyday. Start your playing with a positive mindset. That could add a confidence eventhough the game is base on luck.
This could be also perfect but the only downside of this is when you are over confident, when you lose you can't easily accept it, like it's something hard to move on.

But I like that mindset, keeping your mind in positive will lead you to positive. Try to research about "Rule of attraction", it's something about thinking positive or what will happen will attract the result.

    Fast forward 2021: trillion

    I think that’s a real possibility
Only if USD has crashed insanely, 1btc being a trillion would be chaotic. Anyone who has done a faucet would be wealthy.
$1 Trillion market cap is like $70k per coin or something, too lazy to get the exact number.

    Correct.
JSRAW was saying we’ll have a 1 trillion USD marketcap in 2021. I think it will happen.
$70,000 ish per coin would definitely fit into the usual post halving parabolic bull run that we’ve witnessed thus far in bitcoin’s lifetime.
Im apparently dumb as hell and thought they were saying 1 btc price at 1 trillion each. I thought it was a meme.
Keep your balls calm, we will get there.... at the right time and right place  Grin

Bitcoin has existed for longer than:

    - Uber
    - WhatsApp
    - Instagram
    - Snapchat

    Don’t underestimate Bitcoin's survivability.

PS: Bitcoin will outlive all of the above.

It Will exist longer as us WO’s as well Cheesy
    Uber market cap: $70 billion
    Bitcoin market cap: $134 billion

-It's almost x2 of Uber market cap.

Gives me a chance to continue buying coins too before they become too expensive.
I think that is the right attitude, always.  Looks at positives but at the same time avoids disappointment,

It is not easy to be patient, but this way makes it less difficult.
What I see now is just a pullback from topping around $8,000. The train is just fetching again around this area of those passengers who still not aboard yet. I love the market now, having a pullback before the final ride.

I admit that I am not lucky in gambling, ever since! Most of my gamble online or not online is lost, if we compute and total all my bets, I am in total loss.
But I afford those losses especially when I started to use Bitcoin for gambling, those Bitcoin I used are my profits on trading, I tried it to bet in sport, especially in NBA regular season, I ended up nothing last year, didn't even able to reach the playoffs  Grin.
I think what you are doing in gambling is just to have fun, because you are obviously accepting the losses and seems not bother of not winning at all
Because I believe that once you entered on gambling you are already 50/50. For me, once I placed my bet, I already lost because in gamble you either win or lose, winning in a gamble is a bonus to me especially when you gamble only in two choices, either you win or lose, just like sports betting such as NBA.
6653  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Withdrawals and deposits on: May 23, 2019, 01:05:45 AM
Actually, the article which you're referring to is about 11 days old. It was published at the time when Binance was hacked, and the hack was followed by immediate maintenance to get things back on track. So, it's been ten days since the opening of both, the deposits and the withdrawals; things are looking very much normal now (at Binance).
Binance wrote an article regard their maintenance was already completed 8 days ago. As stated in their article that withdrawal is already working as of now.

Please note that the withdrawal function will be available shortly after trading resumes.
    Article posted 8 days ago.

What's up mga katropa! Quick update sa Bitcoin.
As previous of my post here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5141736.msg51131657#msg51131657.
Di parin natin na be-break ang resistance around $8,400. So I expected more downsides, nangyayari na ito ngayon.

But the good news is maaring pullback lang ito. Makikita mo sa chart, sa 0.618 fibonacci level which acting our minor support now. Pag mag hohold si BITCOIN jan na level, then it's good. May posibilidad na aakyat tayo ulit, BUT pag bumagsak below jan na level, possible na bibisita tayo ulit around $7,000 - $7,200 area.

    I'm buying the dip  Grin

    6658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency user friendly? on: May 22, 2019, 10:30:34 AM
There is already a lot of innovation on cryptocurrency especially on Bitcoin, especially we are on the generation of the mobile device. Being user-friendly in cryptocurrency is really common now, especially most of the people now are using their mobile devices, much easier to operate compared to desktop computers or laptops.
If being user-friendly is the problem, there's a lot of alternatives, for example, if they don't want mobile devices to buy some bitcoins because it's too small or not responsive (if in website), they can use their laptops to use cryptocurrency.
