𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘: Brooklyn are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games.

That is a damning statistic, but I feel like Kyrie isn't going to let this opportunity slip away from him to put up huge numbers in front of the Celtics and show them why he left.  This is one of the better matchups we're going to see this postseason I think and as it begins here momentarily, I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.  If the Celtics win, I'll be very surprised, but I've been pretty let down by super teams this year.  No matter what happens, I'm expecting we'll see Ben Simmons towards the end of this series and I'm hoping that will put the Nets over the top and we'll see some 2017 Warriors style basketball dominance.
6102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 17, 2022, 07:30:21 PM
I'll be riding on the Brookly Nets ML, Kyrie and Durant expertise in the playoffs cannot be undermined.

gl!

I feel like that's a good bet.  I was expecting the odds to be much closer than they were on that game.  Looks like the Nets are being bet on like the Celtics are heavy favorites, but I just don't see it that way.  That really opens the door for lots of good multi-bets.  One that I feel sort of good about as far as the risk/reward is the Nets winning and the Pelicans winning.  They're both heavy underdogs but I feel like the real odds are better than we're seeing.  Especially considering Durant/Kyrie are back and Phoenix hasn't played a game in a while and could be rusty.  With that parlay paying out 14:1, I think it's a decent gamble.  I also tossed a couple bucks on a Nets/Bulls parlay, and a buck on Nets/Bulls/Pelicans, but those are pretty long shots (although if you bet the handicap you get 10.5 point spreads with 2 of the games and it's still a 7:1 payoff).  If you believe the Nets are going to win though, you can balance out these bets with single game wagers and come out a winner no matter what happens, so long as the Nets win...
6103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is truly missing in the Bitcoin ecosystem to get this to the masses on: April 17, 2022, 05:01:05 PM
So I am sure this has been discussed multiple times before, however as I enter into the rabbit hole of Bitcoin, I am interested what others see as lacking in terms of how to get this to the masses. I run a node and LN Channels, however not being a developer, I wonder what other roles are out there. Would like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks!

Your problem is a common one.  The information available on Lightning and the discussion surrounding it are nonexistent in most circles.  Even on this Bitcoin website there is no place to discuss issues with other developers or get access to needed development resources.  I get that we're trying to push this BS narrative that Lightning is Bitcoin, but it seems almost nefarious that Lightning is paraded around to big companies as the future and claimed to be doing a lot of activity in places where it's being legalized (even though usage pails in comparison to stable coins) but there are more and more red flags popping up.  Fake demonstrations of Lightning's abilities.  Major bugs being swept under the carpet.  If the LN is the future of Bitcoin, I am concerned (and have been for about 5 years now) as it's development seems to be a small club of people trying to steer Bitcoin's ecosystem towards their patents.
6104  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [DIY] Taking care of your silver on: April 17, 2022, 04:34:13 PM
I have used this method in the past with coins.  There's a good video on youtube (probably lots of them) demonstrating this technique.  Sodium bicarbonate, aka baking soda and some aluminum foil do a good job with hot water, but I'm not sure if this is good for all coins.  As has been mentioned, collector pieces should probably never be cleaned.  Obviously you don't want to drop a hologram in there, but if you have some old dirty silver sitting around that is only worth it's spot price weight, cleaning it like this isn't the worst thing.  The preferred method would be to keep them from ever getting tarnished to begin with, but that's not always 100% avoidable.

Shaping up for another great day of playoff basketball.  So far there haven't been any big surprises.  Dallas and Memphis were both upset yesterday, but neither team was a heavy favorite.  Dallas might be able to recover but the Timberwolves were looking great against Memphis...

Today's action we get to see the Suns take the court with their best record in the West against the Pelicans who barely slipped into the playoffs.  The game I'm really excited to watch though is the Nets and Celtics.  Kyrie having bad blood there.  Durant not liking the fans.  It's a good setup for NBA drama.  Personally I think the Nets are going to destroy them, but you never know in the NBA.  Enjoy the games today everyone!

Crazy that Woj leaked Jamal Murray has been cleared by doctors to play. The team says they’re leaving the decision in Jamal’s hands, but by saying that he’s been cleared to play and isn’t pretty much puts the fans on him in the court of public opinion. Sad because this team has so much potential but we now have a Kawhi Leonard with the Spurs type of situation going. I hope they get everything figured out because once Michael Porter Jr comes back Denver will be one of the youngest and most talented teams in the NBA.

I can't imagine that anyone will spend 1 BTC on these shoes.  Sure, it's a silly idea and I like that someone is doing it, but the price makes it seem almost as if it's a joke.  I don't think people who can amass tens of thousands of dollars in savings are the type of people to blow $40K on a pair of shoes that is probably lower quality than whatever you can get for $20 at Walmart.  I'm sure someone out there is high enough and with enough BTC in their wallet that they think purchasing is a good idea.  This is exactly the sort of thing you'd expect to see in a now bankrupt former crypto millionaire's closet.  I doubt even Spencer Dinwiddie himself would drop 1 BTC on these.  They could have at least set a decent price.  Maybe 0.05 BTC would get some sales...

The quality of the wallets is 10 out of 10 and as a member above mentioned, it is nice for new collectors to know they can still get an original coin in the Encyclopedia that is still available with the creator in the 1 oz seat coin (also incredibly well made).
Steeley

Thanks for the kind words.  I love hearing from customers how much they love these coins (as well as the others I've made that are available at https://nastyfans.org/mint for purchase).  Much appreciated.

I would also say that it is no surprise they're doing extremely well in secondary markets, as if you priced out how much someone would charge you to make you a custom .9999 silver coin with colored epoxy design, engraved vanity address, and custom tamper proof hologram, you might find that these are underpriced by about 90%.  Smiley  If you don't own one of these sets and you collect silver, you are missing out on a hell of a deal.

Well, I was a silver collector before getting into BTC, so now I feel obligated.. lol

Ordering today!

Thanks,

Mark

Thanks for your order!  I shipped out 15 of these coins last week and love that people are finding they are more valuable on secondary markets.  The secret appears to be out, at least to a few folks who are taking advantage.  Smiley  I love to see it.  Now let's see some more pics of all these coins with their new owners!

The Pelicans fills the last spot for the Western Conference playoffs. I thought the Clippers had the momentum going into the fourth quarter after a huge third quarter but too bad they could not sustain it (if only PG was allowed to play). Regardless of the team you bet on, I think the game had everything with both teams competing up to the last second.

Funny how identical the scores are for Hawks vs. Cavs and Pelicans vs. Clippers.

They’re saying that being held out of the most important game of the year because of covid restrictions is classic “pandemic P” behavior. Jokes aside, I can’t believe that games like this are being decided by the flu. Worse than the refs deciding it to be honest. Before long they’ll probably be wiping all evidence of Jordan’s flu game in the name of public health. I’m shocked at what’s still happening. I can’t wait for the government to move onto something else so society can stop being afraid of something that’s always been a part of our lives.
6110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 16, 2022, 03:00:32 AM
I dislike betting on these play in tournament type of games, they are just way too close for my taste, and close teams at lower levels are not my forte. I can wager on NBA finals easily, even though teams are close there as well usually, at least that is closeness based on both being good, here we are talking about teams that are barely playoff worthy.

This is why I have to just focus on waiting for the playoffs, when that starts I will be able to wager easier. First round is even easier, like first seed playing against the 8th seed (or even worse in this case) this means it could be very easy and could be very profitable for anyone who wagers on those games.
This is not exactly a tip but following injury updates on each team should be helpful before placing a bet. There's still a chance the game would go against what you expect but the chances of winning is higher if you've done your "homework".

Take the Clippers for example. They were an easy pick but it all changed when PG tested positive for COVID and won't play.

I can’t believe the bad luck for the Clippers. The injuries were bad enough this year, but they finally get a chance for a play-in spot and get PG back then this covid nonsense. I can’t wait to hear what Paul George has to say about this. Having his season cut short because some test gave him an unwanted result. I for some reason thought this covid stuff was behind us but it’s still effecting society in these crazy ways. I guess we won’t be seeing Kawhi Leonard this year after all. Maybe next year…
6111  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Serious Question - What do you guys recommend? on: April 15, 2022, 08:48:38 PM
Is a coin more valuable graded or in its original packaging? Pros and Cons? What do you personally prefer?

I personally prefer the original packaging as that is additional material that came with the item so why not… A lot of people think grading is more than it is and believe that means the coin has been verified as authentic or confirmed to hold funds/not been tampered with, etc. so they place a higher value on it than it deserves. Personally, I think the less hands touching it the better, and I think an item owned by 1 person and kept in it’s original packaging is far better than a coin that’s been handled by who knows with missing packaging. A lot can happen to coins in the grading process. I don’t think the reward is ever worth the risks.
6112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: April 15, 2022, 08:43:43 PM
With Ben Simmons rumored to be coming back around game 4 of the first round of the playoffs, I think it will be hard for any team outside of the Nets to win the title. If Simmons is as out of shape as some are saying or he can’t get himself worked into the offense then I think the Bucks are probably going to win. On paper the Suns look like they’ll probably win the West, but I’m still not 100% sold on their roster. I think Ayton has a few more years of development before he’s an NBA champion. I’m looking forward to seeing how the first round shakes out and what Simmons looks like in the next week.
6113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 13, 2022, 05:32:08 PM
I managed to hit all 3 of my bets yesterday. Cavs with the spread. Nets to win outright. Then a multi-bet with the Nets and Wolves winning. I’m not sure who I’ll take today. Maybe the Hornets with the spread and the Pelicans to win outright. I feel pretty good about the Pelicans being able to beat the Spurs, but the Hornets game could really go either way in my opinion. I feel like the Hornets have a pretty good chance to cover the spread though as long as their young guys don’t choke under pressure. I don’t think they will.
6114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 12, 2022, 07:32:07 AM
With inflation numbers due out tomorrow I think we’re seeing investors speculating on Bitcoin’s price getting cold feet as it becomes clear an inflationary recession is on the horizon. We can hope that rich investors decide to step up and buy the price weakness but it seems for now the name of the game is preparing for a recession. These are tricky times as holding cash is a losing bet in the short term, but we’ve reached the point where I think going to cash and waiting for buying opportunities, even if you have to wait another year or two, will likely be the right move looking back.
6115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 12, 2022, 07:27:35 AM
The Cavaliers size makes them a tough matchup for the Nets who lack in that area. I’d be a little hesitant to bet on the 8.5 point spread. I do think the Nets will win, but I don’t think it will be easy. The Cavaliers are definitely capable of winning, so it isn’t a sure thing for the Nets. I do hope they pull it off though, as I really want to get a look at them with Ben Simmons on the floor and he’s rumored for a possible comeback for round one of the playoffs if they can survive the play in tournament. Hopefully they secure that tomorrow.
6116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 11, 2022, 07:44:19 AM
The Kings won the match between the Sacramento Kings and the Phoenix Suns. I was a little surprised because the performance of the Kings players was a little low this year. I guess the Suns didn't care too much about the game and wanted their players to rest.
Landry Shamet was the top scorer with 27 points. It was also a good performance with JaVale McGee getting 13 rebounds Smiley

I had to go see the Kings and Suns for the last game of the year. The key Suns players all sat out, but so did Fox and Sabonis for the Kings. Holiday was just on fire for them all game. The Suns also rested JaVale in the second half. They made a run at the end and it looked like they might win, other than that the Kings dominated pretty much the entire game. Sugarhill Gang performed at halftime and the arena was pretty much packed. Shame had a great night like you said and nearly brough them back, but it just wasn’t meant to be. All eyes turn towards the play-in games on Tuesday now. Luckily all the games on Tuesday and Wednesday will be nationally televised.
6117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 10, 2022, 03:20:40 PM
The last day of the NBA regular season is upon us. Not too much to be excited for today. Joel Embiid will likely win the scoring title over LeBron James unless he plays and scores no points today. That’s probably the only thing to watch. TNT will be televising 2 games. Celtics vs Grizzlies and Warriors vs Pelicans. Can’t say I’ll be watching either, but I’m looking forward to the playoffs starting. We won’t get the Nets bs Lakers matchup in the finals I was hoping for, but I’m looking forward to seeing LaMelo in the play-in tourney and hoping Ben Simmons and Kawhi Leonard make postseason appearances.
6118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 09, 2022, 02:00:23 AM
^^ Well you can't blame someone who put some blame on Vogel. He is the anchor of the team so he has some liability as well as how the Lakers turn out to be this season.

I think this is one of Lebron's disappointing season as a player, too much hype and expectation on the team they build around him and Davis, but it sucks, lol. They are now back to the drawing board next season and maybe this will be his final run as a Laker.

I think Vogel should carry a lot of the blame. The minutes he was giving Dwight Howard made no sense all season. Benching Westbrook down the stretch to basically mentally torture the dude. Rob Pelinka should take some of the blame also. The Westbrook trade didn’t work out and the Nunn signing was a worst case scenario. LeBron had a great year. AD proved he can’t stay healthy. Carmelo did better than anyone thought he would. They just couldn’t get it together. Makes you think we should be sending the NBA champions to the Olympics instead of trying to throw a team together.
6119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 08, 2022, 09:12:13 PM
Embiid has Harden and Giannis has Middleton, so I think Joker has the edge because he has no Robin helping him to achieve the success.

That's a big difference, that's why he should win the finals MVP.

Lebron makes a lot of excuses, I thought he would be able to compete in this award but his team sucks, so he will just continue to achieve individual success while the impact on his team is not seen and felt.

I'm not sure if the betting line is still open now, but 1.31 odds for the Joker is still good to take.

With the stats he’s putting up, it would be difficult to deny that Giannis is the MVP. It seems like the voters always make the mistake of giving MVPs too soon to a player and then are left with a decision on what to do going forward when that player gets better. Steve Nash, Steph Curry, Giannis, all won MVPs a season before they should have. LeBron should’ve gotten 2 of those MVPs and Shaquille O’Neal should’ve gotten one. All of those players came back with even better years and forced voters to give them more MVPs because voters wanted so bad for a new face to be at the top before it was time.
6120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 08, 2022, 08:16:44 PM
It is just sad to see LA Lakers being out of the playoff stage in this season. But they deserved this for sure. Because they haven't been that good as a team the whole season. And they deserved to be out of the title race as a result. Lebron just tried to carry the team by himself but of course it wasn't going to be enough for them. Lebron hasn't been contented with the team for a long time. They haven't built a lineup that he would like. And if they don't do this again, I wonder what Lebron is thinking of doing.

LeBron hinted that he wanted to play with Stephen Curry, and Steph responded that he's good.  I think there is less and less demand for LeBron's talents these days, as teams know they have to gut their roster to build around him if they want to win a championship.  At 37, 38 next year, there just isn't much of a reason to gut your roster to build around a guy that has maybe 3 years left in the league.

In typical LeBron fashion, he's decided to sit out the rest of the year because of his ankle sprain.  He's definitely not Michael Jordan, or Kobe, but he's statistically the greatest NBA player of all time.  I'd still want MJ taking the last shot if I were in charge...
