6141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Your best ICO experience on: December 28, 2017, 07:11:05 PM
So far i never commited to any icos, cause i have read news that ico are mostly scammers.
Can anyone suggest me what ico is the best to invest in for now?

Oh, it is necessary to do your own research. Even if I tell you that... letīs say, United Traders is good, you still have to read trough the documents, etc... Sometimes these are very technical.
6142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Your best ICO experience on: December 28, 2017, 12:05:43 AM
Its frustrating that almost all ICOs are closed to US residents. Missing the boat on some great opportunities.

Yep. I never understood why the US goverment only allows rich people to invest. I would understand if they set a limit based on income to the ammount you can invest, but this way the middle and lower class cannot take advantage. Why donīt you try to propose a law or ask your representatives to change it?

Bounty info inc soon.

Hi, I will be watching this thread. I am interested in the bounty threads and possibly in investing.

I liked Quantstamp. No red flags in the project, just the right ammount of hype, very efficient distribution system and a decent increase in value.
6145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Bitfinex invitation on: December 26, 2017, 10:13:21 PM
No US passport holders can have an account at bitfinex now

And what happened to the US citizens that were already in there? Were they able to recovr their funds?
6146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I late to the party? on: December 25, 2017, 10:55:55 AM
I feel so late to the party. Coins now are very expensive, like $5800 for Bitcoin and $345 for Ethereum... then $5 - $30 for other coins. I take a look at the blockchain explorers and see big holders of coins, for example some people have 1000+ bitcoin, a lot of people have 500,000+ ethereum. These people got the coins when they were 1 penny each, now I have to pay $500 for the same coin?

Why are the coins so expensive today? Can I go back in time and get them cheaper?

Even if I put in a lot of my money, I only get a fraction of what people were able to get 1 year ago. 1 year ago people got coins for 1 penny and stashed 100,000 coins for $1000, now I have to pay $1000 just for 1 coin?!? I feel so ripped off!

Also I knew about Bitcoin when it was $30, and I knew about Ethereum when it was $7! I was alive in these time periods and was looking online and reading about these things but it all flew by!

Am I too late to the party? Is it a good time to get buy today or should I find a way to time travel back in time?

My frustration is BIG.

I think that we are too late to just hodl a coin and hope to become millionaires. It is likely that you can make some profit but you need to be active and have a good understanding of what is happening around to make decisions as oposed to just wait.
6147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Waves node for leasing - Are there any differences? on: December 23, 2017, 08:28:58 AM
Hi, I would like to know if anyone out there has tried different Waves nodes and if there is much difference between them. At the moment I am getting a very low ammount of fees LOL
6148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Bitfinex invitation on: December 23, 2017, 12:00:08 AM
Does this mean i can't get a bitfinex account without an invitation from a registered user? Bitfinex is the biggest exchange (as i knew) for cryptocurrencies with FIAT so am wondering who are the users of bitfinex and why should the compagny execute such a radical rule when procedure of verification (NYC) is still applicant for all traders?

It sound a bit extrange. Also I heard that bitfinex had problems with security, something about being hacked or people not able to withdraw deposits. Anyone knows?
6149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy and Hold 100 Cryptocurrencies for 5 Years - Week 1 - $404 USD in profit on: December 22, 2017, 09:36:01 AM
Pretty cool idea. But I am not sure if I would want to hold for 5 years. But then we never know, and you might get lucky and invest in the next facebook or google. I am sure you will end up making good money.

Spreading and waiting are not bad ideas at all. There are many stories of people getting rich just by "hodling", but I think that the competition has got fiercer now and we have to be selective with our money.
6150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: DISASTER ON THE BREAD TOKENSALE on: December 21, 2017, 09:53:35 AM
This is my top pick ICO . Do I have to be always logged in to my MEW wallet? Good luck and keep us updated

After a few hours they got ICO rolling... and then everyone found out that there was an additional sale at Binnace. Cheating and not reporting are going to kill the ICO business. Is not that difficult to do a honest ICO with full disclosure and transparency.
6151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: DISASTER ON THE BREAD TOKENSALE on: December 20, 2017, 11:03:14 PM
There needs to be a site like virustotal that will let people submit a smart contract address to be scanned for red flags before sending money to it. As things currently are there is no way to know if a smart contract has problems until those problems have affected people or a dev notices something and reports it. All too often we see swaps taking place due to a bug or some other issue that could have been detected right from the start..

There is a service called Quantstamp, they had their ICO recently. I would trust the technical part of any ICO that has gone through their scrutiny.
6152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash hacked for 60 Million USD... and now what? on: December 19, 2017, 12:48:21 PM
It's not possible. AFAIK, to "blacklist" a specific cryptocoin.

It's not like a serial number on a fiat bill where the serial number and the bill are always the same connected item.

Thank you for the info. I read somewhere that some bitcoins where blacklisted. I know that that would definetly not be possible with monero, sumocoin and other ALTs.
6153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: The fastest way to transfer ETH - ICOs that finish in a minute on: December 17, 2017, 06:39:24 PM
Agreed, I'd use myetherwallet for ease of access speed - you never know how busy exchanges are really at any one time. You can send direct from coinbase of course but I'd like to use the same address for sending/receiving and prefer it to both be from/to my own wallet.

On a side note do you think there are other ICO's coming up that will finish that quickly - also what does a quick finish signify? popularity? big companies/dealers buying in - and if so, for what reason?

Thanks

Quick means less than a minute. Bread, GIFTO and many others have huge demand and they donīt set low individual limits to encourage participation. So getting a piece of the pie is a questions of a few seconds.

A team that intends to build a Bitcoin and Altcoins wallet + ecosystem launched the ICO sale 30 minutes ago. The admins recomended "NO LIMIT" on the gas limit from transactions.

Due to a wrong contract NONE of the transactions went through, all failed. Some participants lost more than 300$ in fees. The telegram chanel was not muted and spammers got in trying to fool people into sending money to fake addresses, along a large collection of Rare Pepes and naked asian chicks.

This reveals that the team did not even care to pass an external audit, risking the whole 30 Million USD project.

THIS IS THE TEAM THAT WANTS TO BUILD YOUR WALLET. Any volunteers?

Sharing this cool experiment on crypto, consist of holding 100 cryptos for 5 years, investing $10 on the top 100 on coinmarketcap. So far with $404 USD in profit on the initial $1000 invested seems like the experiment is doing well.

What do you think about it? Could it be an actual good strategy to spread the investment on many coins? has any of you done something similar?

https://buyandhold100crypto.com/buy-and-hold-100-cryptocurrencies-for-5-years-week-1-404-usd-in-profit/

Hi, I love your project. Personally I am not persistant enough to hold for 5 years the same coins. Typically, diversifiying your portfolio renders more stability. Some people are just so crazy about bitcoin that do not consider all the oportunities out there.

I do diversify, but also pay attention to some coins that look promising. I put a little bit and many times it has given nice results.
6158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Quantstamp "proof of hold" on: December 15, 2017, 11:19:15 PM
Thank you for the update.
Proof of Hodl is interesting isn't it similar to Proof of Stake?

It combines holding the token with "proof of caring" which is contributing to make the project more widely know. You help the project and the project helps you.

This is the one reason why I did not invest in this token. 'Proof of Caring' let's people make fake positive reviews. They can't be trusted.
I received a bonus of 76% and 92 ETH invested in this project. After the start QSP has grown for me in 4.2 times! Risky projects are the most profitable.

What a great firgure! I have heard of QSP recently, i guess we still have a huge opportunity right?

I think so, but is not short term. Think of at least one year ahead.

can you elaborate on how you made this? im genuinely curious and intrigued. thanks

Nobody got even near to that bonus, not even at Tier 1. Pre-sale investors like myself made a healthy profit (x2.5) but I still hold tokens because I am convinced this company is going to be a major player next year.
6160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: When kitties collapse the Ethereum network on: December 15, 2017, 11:14:02 PM
This reveals immediately how flawed the ethereum network still is at this point.
Exactly, the rumor I heard is that the EOS devs and Dan Larimer created that cryptokitty game to prove how bad eth network can be when overloaded. Seems like their point has been made loud and clear. Perhaps this game is the end of ETH, as its time has come to pass on the baton.

No way, it is just the moment to justify the Plasma protocol
