Was curious if anyone had much experience with R9 290's on subpar processors?
I've got a 2.8 GHz G1830 Haswell Celeron dual core.
I have 4x R9 290s.
After 24 hours, I'm getting about 1.4 cpd per card. 4ch is 116k, and 7 ch is 83. They are overclocked, 1400/985, as that seemed to improve the 7ch from 75 to 83.
Based on previous reports, this seems a little low? I'm running it -ss 2 for each card. CPU usage fluctuates between 50-67%.
Is this the norm, or should I be getting better numbers? What can I change to improve the cpd?
You should get about 100 7ch/h. What if start only one card, what 7ch/h does it show? What if specify "-t 8"? With a 8 core processor, should -t 8 or higher number be used? Again 2 gpu rig Thnx for your other tips with set max, it seems to work on -hc 256 |

I've noticed that setting gpu_max_allocae blabla variable has close implication on HashCount.
So make: set gpu_ blabla=100 in .bat file and next deal with -hc.
I also noticed that -hc 640 in command line made it hc=512 in miner info.
So HC greater than 512 is cut?
If GPU does not allow to allocate enough memory, HashCnt will be decreased automatically, so even if 512 is specified you can see less value, set "GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100" to avoid it. HC cannot be higher than 512, too much memory is required for higher values and OpenCL fails. When i do set set "GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100", it seems not mining at all. Trt 0 and showing nothing in stats. Could you plz post an exact bat config so i can see where i am putting it wrong? Do i use the " before and after comand? Not having bad results, but i see that it could be better compared to others. 8core cpu on most rigs, 2 gpus each. |

What would be a good setting for 2 gpus rigg? both low end cpu, and midleclass/high end cpu? Is this your speed up release?  Happy mining! Always use default settings, change them only if you see that something is wrong. If you see high CPU load use "-ss 2". If miner crashed try "-hc 256" if you know that it is not overclock-related crash. No special setup required, it is easy-to-use miner, just start and mine  In bat file, i set: -hc 512, but still when miner starts, it says hscount 256?? I have not included max_allocate_ code this time either since it made only troubles last time. What is wrong in my config? ... Your CPU is too slow to handle 6 cards, you should get about 120K 4ch/h for 280X. In future versions I will decrease CPU usage. Core number is important? I want to try AMD FX-4XXX or AMD FX-6XXX Number of cores must be >1 for good results. Anyway, I just found how to reduce CPU usage again, so I will add "-ss 2" option back in v2.1, I will release it in a couple of hours. I see about 50% less CPU usage with this option so you can mine on x6 cards even with slow CPU at full speed. [/quote] I do have amd FX-8350 if thats interesting to test... |

Sorry if this seems lazy but has anyone already compared exchange potential using 1x 280X card crunching Claymore XPM's vs. something like Clevermining?
Clevermining currently claims about 0.00499 BTC/day per MH/s.
If one were not attempting to mine and hold XPM any idea what a 30-day average of auto-selling XPM would bring per MH/s?
I believe some has done the math, and it was something like 90% or more, compared to scrypt if i remember corect. Dont take it to the bank tho, xpm is alot of luck if you mine it very shortly! Happy mining |

Well this is really driving me crazy my other rig again doesn't work TRT on 0 after reinstalling windows i don't think i should do this again.
it happened after i saw Hashcnt below 512 on my 280x and TRT was on 400 i set the gpu max alloc to 100 and from then and until now its on zero and gpu usage 20% no matter what i change or do.
is there any quick fix for this claymore?
If you used setx, you did it in your registry permanent. see my post some pages back, i did exactly that. There is a way to fix it in registry, but before i found out how, i had already reinstalled windows and started over again.. Now i dont dare to use that comand, since i clearly dont understand where or how to use it. My hscount starts 256 or what it is, but all other stats like 4ch and trt seems better than most report in my case... Stock clocks and no OC whatsoever yet, and no set Max_ALLOCATE code for me yet... Just so i understand. Set makes the value u entered Setx cancels it? there is no command to for cmd to cancel the gpu_max_alloc? sounds wierd. just reinstalled windows and its working now.. no, setx makes it permanent in your registry, set makes it localy, each time if i have understood corectly. I used setx when i did it, and it gave me same problems you have. To fix it, you must inside your sys.32 folder i think and delet those comands. I did not know that then, so i just reinstaled, took me 30minutes, and all was working perfect again. I dont understand why, and either how this code works. But for me, it seems best not using it... Do not use GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT could help. +1 When not using it, stats are good, when using it i get only trouble. 8core cpu with 2 gpus. What should be the avg 4ch/h and trt? Cause mine seems atleast to be above avg. 280x stock settings gets me 110k+ 4ch and trt 390-400. My 280x toxic is even better... 125-130k 4ch and trt below 360. |

What would be the recomended settings in the Oc tool for theese cards?

7970 - core 1150 memory 1840 280x - core 1100 memory 1500 280 - core 1000 memory 1500 use msi afterburner or sapphire trixx your voltage settings you'll have to figure out as each card, even if its the same brand, may require a different voltage. Thnx alot! What is your stats with theese settings, 4ch and trt? On my 280x with stock settings i get 110-125k 4ch and trt from 360-410. I run only 2 gpus each rig with an amd fx 8 core cpu, non OC yet. From what i have been reading, theese numbers seem pretty good?? Would an OC still improve this? Anyone with 280x toxic? this one seems to perform right under my 290`s... No OC, did undervolt bios. |

Just made a chart on Excel to measure performance.
i own 15 280x.
2 rigs have 5x280 each with pentium haswell so the gpu usage wasn't too good, hope claymore can fix this for low-end cpus. the other cards are seperated between 3 rigs.
Right now i'm making 3.32XPM Per GPU Per day | 2.08XPM per Hour for all my rigs, which is not Ideal. i think that couple of my gpus are making 5+ per day and some 2- cause of the bottleneck.
nofee is on. these are all measured by confirmed xpm's, although i have 20+ unconfirmed
any results for you guys?
Yeah, turn on the fee option, it would give you atleast 15% more with easy calculation... |

Can i run 3-4 gpus on this setup?When running on stock settings, trt is around 460.
Cpu around 50-60% with 2 gpus.

i'm getting around 450 - 460 with a gigabyte 7950 with 1100 core and 1500 mem at about 1.5v That should mean i have a ok result, since geting the same values at stock settings 925core and 1350mem. About 1.074v It has already found a 10chain, so guessing this is an ok start! |

At starting miner will tell you about GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT when necessary. If you don't see any message anything about it (it means that it will show "HashCnt = 512") - everything is ok already. How and where to put this? I tried in bat file, at top. but after i now run miner, it shows trt of 0. Before i did this, trt was at 460-500.What have i done wrong, and how can i fix it?? Running the 10% fee ofc... Reinstalling drivers did not fix it. When i start miner, it logs in, and displays hscnt 512, but still trt is o and its not showing any 4c or nothing. Plz help! Drivers reinstall wont help. All Windows gurus fail, so I have to help you. setx sets variables in Windows registry, permament, not in current local console instance. Open regedit, go to current_user/enviroment, you will see those GPU variables and delete it from there. Reboot. In .bat files use: f.e.: set VARIABLE=100 not setx VARIABLE 100 That way its only local and have no impact at OS all when you close console window. I hope it helps :-) edit: Oh, if you want to comment it in .bat file use :: (2 of them) f.e.: :: set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100 Thank you very much for your help! Primecoind is setup and downloading block index.
Must i wait until this is complete before i run Prime-GPU-Server?
I nned to find my hardware ID.
When i run the server, it closes asap.
Did make tha hwid.bat, and get console 1 error?
