621  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 15, 2021, 05:21:16 PM
Does Trezor (using webwallet and not Electrum) supports BECH32 (bc1-adresses), especially sending (and getting back correct change, lol)?
I am getting mixed indications by googling.

Yes, the new model for sure.  I've not used an old model in a while, but I'm pretty sure too.
622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interesting Block 679115 on: April 15, 2021, 01:06:00 PM

If you look at that image of the Bitcoin network... it's a razor-thin line keeping the miners earning 20x (or more) from people who want confirmation in 10 minutes vs 24 hours... (each block is roughly 1mb, there are 144 blocks roughly a day.)

Imagine Bitcoin is like a bus with 20 seats and there is a line of 200 people trying to get on.  Basically, each ticket "could" cost $1, but the person who owns the bus and collects the fees keeps putting 15 people on the bus for $100 each and five normal people who just want to get home pay $100 as well.  Now the bus is full.  The bus owner just netted $500 from five people rather than $20 from 20 people.

626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interesting Block 679115 on: April 14, 2021, 12:40:51 AM
So they're increasing network congestion in an attempt to increase the fees?

I don't know, but it certainly feels that way to me.  I believe they contribute to the congestion as well.

That seems a bit extreme, especially since higher fees in the next block could go to another pool.

Perhaps, but perhaps the pools are in on it together?  Seems like the most profitable for every one mining and there aren't very many that need to agree.

The way the pools are divided up could be just to appear to make Bitcoin look decentralized as well.

Bitcoin is MUCH better off with a bunch of solo miners.

Does this happen often, or only when the network activity is higher than usual (say because the price is up considerably for the day)?

It happens really often.

MoparMining talks about it a lot.

627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interesting Block 679115 on: April 14, 2021, 12:32:06 AM
Miners profit from the fees staying high and the Bitcoin wallet estimating the traffic is heavy.

Empty blocks, with block rewards, are smart when it causes people to pay 10x to 25x the "normal" fee for confirmation within the next block.

It's the reverse of Pool Hopping basically, but against the network users rather than the miners this time.

Coinmarketcap is reporting Wownero is at 45 cents.

FreeBitcoins has a fair few Wownero for sale at 34 cents.  https://freebitcoins.com/xchange/market/Bitcoin-Wownero

I'm not sure if the price on Coinmarketcap is from some bullshit exchange like YoBit, but it appears there is a pretty good arb opportunity for Wownero.

Congrats WOW holders!!!

Sup, all!

Please someone, links to latest win wallet and bootstrap.

Thanks in advance!

You won't need a bootstrap using the latest unofficial release:  https://github.com/nochowderforyou/clams/tree/2.1.0

Here is the master though:  https://github.com/nochowderforyou/clams/tree/master

Dooglus bootstrap: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623147.msg9772191#msg9772191

Gl and Hf!!!

Hmm, Clam 2.1.0 doesn't have a GUI option to import a wallet.

That is true.  Xploited didn't include that in 2.1.0.

"xploited — Today at 2:38 PM
it was a reall biiiiiatch to do and would be even more of a biiatch with that newer codebase ha"

"xploited — Today at 2:39 PM
if they want to import the wallet best to use the 1.4.17v for sure"

https://github.com/nochowderforyou/clams/tree/master

2.1.0 just syncs super fast without bootstraping.

Had some hardware problems today that effected deposits and withdrawals... we should be back up within a hour.

All funds are safe.

Maybe add it to Freiexchange they add old coins for free.

Ya I bet they would add HUC for sure.
637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - Worlds First Decentralized Game/World on the Blockchain on: April 12, 2021, 02:57:18 AM
Putting that "one year experiment" part aside, let me ask directly:  What improvements would you like to see for the Huntercoin project?  Is there any help you might be able to offer with them?

Note that the codebase is roughly up-to-date with Bitcoin Core from a year ago.  I think that's likely much better than most Bitcoin-clone-shitcoins out there, even if they are on exchanges and pumped by shills.

I personally like Huntercoin a lot, it certainly is a piece of crypto history, and I still hold a non-trivial amount of coins myself.  So if there is any concrete proposal for getting involved and improving the project, I'm more than happy to support you on that.

Sorry for just now seeing your post.... 1 year later!

Improvements:  We certainly need to come up with some type of ReCaptcha or something to at least make it more difficult for botters to bot.  Also, HUC syncing was HORRIBLE... I couldn't sync HUC on a rural internet connection.  I think being able to sync on a trash internet connection is important for a coin that is meant for human mining... I'm going to go out on a limb and say that people who are human mining potentially are from some pretty rough spots in the world!

Help:  I can provide Huntercoin a safe place to be exchanged for Bitcoin if anyone is still interested.  My team can also help brainstorm as well.  Please let us know if we can be of any assistance Domob.

I can’t find any exchanges trading HUC.  Anybody know of any?  Last price showing as $.002.

Thanks.

Edit.  Can’t find any exchanges.  Coin looks dead.  If anybody wants to sell some HUC PM, please.   Thanks.

If anyone else wants a HUC exchange... just post and I can probably make it happen! (freebitcoins.com/xchange)

I really can't fathom why anyone would want to buy HUC at this point, but who am I to judge?  I'm wrong most the time anyways, so maybe HUC is going to be the hot 2021 coin! Tongue

I put in a request.  Make it happen.  Smiley

I received your request.
638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : now with added CLAMs : Play or Invest on: April 11, 2021, 08:09:25 PM
His original reason was he did not want to hold any BTC or be responsible for it due to regularity uncertainty. With the site operating pseudo-anonymously and not requiring registration other than login and password (I believe emails are optional), ... I think he was mainly avoiding anything that could be risky in terms of being a custodial kind of wallet thing and being forced to do KYC.

In the end, I think he simply does not want to operate a dice site anymore like before, so it just now runs on CLAM. You can play with it, but I would not call it an "investment" anymore. If he changes his mind, he can always go back to BTC or any other more widely traded coin/token. I'd like to shill him an alt that has a sort of predictable inflation, and sometimes even goes negative. LOL. Smiley

tezos (nft dice?) prolly*cough-wink* Wink weeeee

NFT? what is that

It stands for - No Fucking Thanks

You can play with it, but I would not call it an "investment" anymore.

I think CLAM is going to be one of the top small cap investments in 2021 and 2022 with ease... if not #1.

Time will tell though.

There are a lot of really aggressive sellers right now and CLAMS story has been dragged through the mud by "bad actor exchanges" specifically Poloniex.

We are starting to see some really nice trades and deposits around these price levels on the CLAM market https://freebitcoins.com/xchange/market/Bitcoin-Clamcoin
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: April 07, 2021, 01:15:54 AM

I suppose you are super busy erasing the 16.3 Repository like you just said you were gonna do!

Which means according YOU

that your going to launch a Gapcoin Version 20/21 wallet which requires a hard fork in which you want to delete the history of your script that steals/loses coins from 16.3???

Honestly what kind of a moron would not test the send function like you did?HuhHuh

And than not even change the Source Code after almost 1 month?

I have nothing to defend myself against except your obnoxious attitude which is designed to repulse newbies so you can Hard fork Gapcoin using your Cronies!  Giving you total control of the Blockchain!

I WILL NEVER SUPPORT SUCH A THING!!!!!!

You have literally been here over 3 years or so and not developed jack shit except your recently defunct 16.3 Wallet that had a FATAL FLAW?HuhHuh??

Cheers

What script?

Please do point out this "script"  if you say there is a stealing script in there you must be able to point out this script right?

I doubt BitcoinFX or gjhiggins have any bad intentions nor would they release something that would steal users funds.

Accusations without solid proof are a big no no.

I second MagicByt3 post.

Point it out, please.

This is a follow-up to my request to add SexCoin, the Android Wallet update is now complete as is the updated bootstrap for any-one either wanting to play catch-up of the block-chain, or, getting off of the ground running.

I like sexcoin.

I'll take a look at it.
