6361  Other / New forum software / Re: Signature contract ? on: February 24, 2015, 09:32:23 PM
This forum is for Bitcoin, and shouldn't have to cater for the needs of signature advertising. That's up to the 'managers' of the signature campaign by using their own resources and tools to do so. Many probably already do this.
6362  Economy / Lending / Re: Needing a 1BTC loan over a one month period; money needed for veterinary visit. on: February 24, 2015, 05:07:01 PM
I wish you the best of luck and hopefully you will have some good news with the visit.
6363  Other / Off-topic / Re: What phone do you use and what do you think about it? on: February 22, 2015, 10:33:24 PM
Still using the trusty Nokia 106. Of course there isn't any fancy applications or it might not look great to some people. Although I tend to think it looks quite nice and have the attitude of function over fashion.

I use this partly because I'm quite active and physical and any touch screens or more modern phones tend to break. This thing bounces off walls. When away, I normally bring a laptop with me and do all my work and browsing on that.

6364  Other / Meta / Re: BitCoinTalk hidden pages on: February 22, 2015, 07:22:18 PM
Have a look of a thread in the staff forum: https://bitcointalk.org/ad_test.html Wink

It's intentional of course, theymos has allowed entry for people to design ads for the site.

Quote from: theymos
Unrelated: I created this test page to help people design ads:
https://bitcointalk.org/ad_test.html
Download it, open it in a text editor, and look at the comments. (This is a little difficult to do with normal topic pages due to the anti-adblocker obfuscation code.)
6365  Economy / Lending / Re: Needing a 1BTC loan over a one month period; money needed for veterinary visit. on: February 22, 2015, 05:09:41 PM
Ok, devthedev has the collateral in his possession. I've just sent the 1 Bitcoin: https://blockchain.info/tx/b63a0a4459d776371868d05e1094854c11cfd0bccb3c3e58838eec73b638e9ac

Loan amount: 1 Bitcoin.
Loan Duration: 1 month (Payment due 22nd of March, 2015
Interest: 10%, additional 5% after each week if late.
Collateral: GBattaglia account.
GBattaglia receiving address: 13i7exDUG7fUTnmv5Z2WyHKV24Eo97wwvg
Welsh's return address: 1Cqw4Zix3cRLGqQr5T1cCD5RzgUSCLYUnS

I don't believe there will be any problems, I wasn't interested in the account itself, but I wanted some sort of leverage. The account is probably worth a little more to him personally than any other person. At least that's the plan. Certainly more than 1 Bitcoin to him.
6366  Other / Meta / Re: [ASK] About Edit Post on: February 22, 2015, 01:47:30 PM
You can't edit posts in the auction section, it's to avoid people changing terms etc.

Any updates? Did you lend him?

   -MZ
I'm waiting on devthedev to contact me that everything is put into place, I'll then send the Bitcoin straight away. I'm hoping it's going to be completed by today as I'm away tomorrow for a while.

When it's sent I'll post the tx and also keep you up to date throughout the process.
6368  Other / Meta / Re: Quickseller removal from default trust list on: February 22, 2015, 11:43:42 AM
He gave me negative trust because I lost interest in his account... major abuse of the default trust system
It's something that is probably deemed untrustworthy by many, if you didn't disappear and explained the issue why you couldn't send the Bitcoin, then he may of been more lenient. Your best bet is to contact him, maybe he will change it to a neutral with a warning to others.
6369  Economy / Lending / Re: Needing a 1BTC loan over a one month period; money needed for veterinary visit. on: February 22, 2015, 02:03:53 AM
Today at 09:31:05 PM - GBattaglia - password reset via email

I would be wary of lending to this account until some proof of ownership is shown.
It's part of the collateral. No need to worry about it.
6370  Other / Meta / Re: AT is a technology designed for any blockchain - it is not an alt! on: February 21, 2015, 05:47:58 PM
Yeah because not being online for a few hours is taking a holiday. Be patient. You'll get your answer, but you can't expect to snap your fingers and get your way. I can see why AT might be interpreted either way. Remember that the staff are volunteers and not employees.
6371  Other / Meta / Re: what dates activity updated? on: February 21, 2015, 12:29:33 PM
This is the thread I think you are talking about: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736.0
6372  Other / Meta / Re: [REQUEST] Please extend maximum lenght for hero/legendary member signatures. on: February 20, 2015, 03:58:13 PM
Sig space is okay Hero and lower. I think, for Legendary, supporting images(same size as signature) in the link would be good.

   -MZ
Images in signatures is disallowed for a reason, it becomes a mess and an annoyance to look at. The forum used to allow images in signatures but, removed the ability to put a new image in your signature in 2011/early 2012.

I believe, if users had a image prior to it being disabled, they may still have them in their signatures. That was the case then, I'm not sure if this has been changed or moderated since. If you want a image in your signature, have a direct link to the image. That way people can decide whether they want to look at it or not.

I know the majority of the users on this forum probably disagree and would like to have images, but it doesn't add much of a benefit of having them.

I am pretty sure that increasing for Hero/Legendary to 8000 characters will be a change to a better.
That's a lot of space, I don't want to be forced to hide signatures as I do like to look at some personal projects and such. But, having something as big as 8000 would be obstructive.
6373  Other / Meta / Re: [REQUEST] Please extend maximum lenght for hero/legendary member signatures. on: February 20, 2015, 02:38:55 PM
I think the signature limit of hero's is about right, if you want to differentiate between Hero's and Sr member, then may want to consider reducing the Sr member. I don't think either is necessary.
6374  Other / Meta / Re: My trust :( im not alt Candystripes accounts! on: February 18, 2015, 09:59:47 AM
I have given Candystripes neg trust too.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=325115

That doesn't prove anything either. Could be trying to clear your account of bad feedback. I'm not saying that you are Candystripes, but the others who have given you negative feedback need something solid to work with to be able to remove it.
6375  Other / Meta / Re: My trust :( im not alt Candystripes accounts! on: February 18, 2015, 09:50:13 AM
Signing a address isn't going to prove that he's not Candystripes. It just proves that he has another address, I've used multiple addresses like many others. Signing isn't going to prove anything in this case. He claims he was hacked but, there's no proof in that.

I'm not sure how ikydesu can prove that he was hacked, except for involving theymos or someone who can verify it.
6376  Other / Meta / Re: [WTF] mprep.... worst moderator on: February 17, 2015, 05:31:56 PM
Whenever these threads pop up it's almost reassurance that the moderator in question is doing a great job. They deal with claims that they are abusing everyday I would imagine and none of them have any merit.
6377  Other / Meta / Re: SPAMMING A REF LINK WITHIN A MINUTE on: February 17, 2015, 05:22:10 PM
Oops I just reported a few of his posts wasn't aware that he's already been identified and awaiting on action to be taken. Sorry Global moderator for spamming your report log Cheesy
6378  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting posts on: February 14, 2015, 12:41:02 PM
That's the list that I was talking about => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=925534.msg10161022#msg10161022
the user quoted it from Theymos , maybe theymos is the only one who have access to it
Yes I know. A user asked in the thread I linked if the list could be updated, BadBear responded with the quote above. I'm almost certain that Theymos is the only one who can do it.
6379  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting posts on: February 14, 2015, 12:30:51 PM
I think BadBear and maybe Stefan Thomas  can also get that information. I think he is busy building new forum.

   -MZ

If I'm understanding BadBear's response correctly he can't.

I can see all of a user's reports, but I can't generate reports like that on the fly.

What , who is Stefan Thomas
As far as I know there is only couple of developpers on the forums which are making the new forum software and this name isn't one of them
He's been part of the moderation team for a very long time, big part in Bitcoin too. You might know him with his alias "justmoon". He was the operator of and BitcoinJS.org & We Use Coins. He's fairly active, logs in from time to time, but doesn't post a lot lately.
6380  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting posts on: February 14, 2015, 12:15:14 PM
Yes, it is. Eal F. Skillz said here before. I'm not sure, however if an updated list is around. I think theymos or staff need to download it from server.
Only Theymos can get that information. I should imagine he's too busy at the moment to do it too. He's had a few requests by numerous people, probably the people who have high reports and want to boast their ego.   Cheesy
